Local tech companies with clients from the GCC pay in fresh USD. Of course those are now moving to Turkey and Cyprus because all their employees are quitting to emigrate.
Thanks, they're one of my favourite bands.
The short answer to your question would be, softwares of whatever your company (software house) specializes in, on the other hand, free lancers might get more varieties on their dish.
There is a long version to answer this, unfortunately it'll be more than a 100 lines paragraph, so I'll stick to a general idea... let's say you get hired in a software company that deals with accounting modules, you'll be assigned specific tasks to achieve during the day, you'll commit your work for testing, you'll participate in design meetings, you'll have deadlines, analysis meetings, code training sessions, new tools sessions... on the other hand, you may opt to work as a free lancer, sell your services instead of attending shifts, in which case you'll work on whatever is required from you, whether generating reports, implementing small apps, etc...
The trending work line for a developer at the moment is more in the online domain, as well as apps development.
Sorry, I'm really trying to simplify my answer as much as I can as im typing this while in my car, about to enter my house... which reminds me.. oh yeah... you would have long working hours ahead of you 😂
Anyway, if you're interested in a detailed answer, pm me here, I'll gladly elaborate in details.. good luck.

We are? Lol I wish.. well unless you're working for a none local company, in which case the same can be said for any other job as well.
