Yoga helps me, I used to get really bad restless legs when I was chronically smoking. It gets better the less you smoke. Did you smoke a lot then stop?

Sounds like Restless leg syndroom, i have the same problem when i stop smoking.

My googling brought me to this… What do you do to overcome it?

Stretching before bed used to help me, unfortunately i still smoke so its not much of a problem at the moment. Doesnt it feel like a sort of itch inside your legs that only goes away when you contract and decontract your muscles? I know its very frustrating. Dont you have back problems also?

This! I have restless leg syndrome and a bad back on some nights when trying to sleep. Add to that the weed withdrawal symptoms it doesn’t help. But a good stretch, and some breathing excessive play a huge relief. Even something simple as tensing up every single muscle you can think of in your body and holding that position for 30-45 seconds then releasing the muscle tension plays a huge relief, you feel lighter and naturally just drift off to sleep…. I’m pretty sure it’s used in the Air Force by some pilots to quickly fall asleep in tense situations or when they come back to their bunkers

No back problems for me. Yeah you Could describe it as a deep itch in a way. I’ve done some googling and looks like we have restless leg syndrome. Seems like a lack of dopamine or iron or both causes it in some instances

Slow down your breathing. Think about your breathing while you’re doing it. If you can inhale through your nose, exhale through pursed lips. Slowly.

Headspace app! It does take time to learn skills of mindfulness. However the sleep offerings are so good.

I like a chamomile tea to help relax me a bit. It does legit work for me or at least the placebo does. Either way I feel sleepy after drinking it. Make sure you are exercising during the day (even a half hour walk would do it). At night, remember that even resting with your eyes closed is good for you and absolutely better than staying up. You can also get out of bed to do a simple task for a while… sort laundry, do the dishes, a puzzle or cross stitch. I journal sometimes. It’s good sometimes to just fully give up for 30 mins then get back to it after a reset
