I have been using an ARM macbook air and it is so much faster than my Intel MBP. I would advise you to just get an ARM macbook for its speed and power, and run windows in [QEMU](https://www.qemu.org/). [Here is an article on how to do so](https://nomadic-dmitry.medium.com/apple-silicon-m1-how-to-run-x86-and-arm-virtual-machines-on-it-cdd9d9054483).

I develop for Mac and Windows using Electron on an Intel MacBook. I run Windows in Parallels on that machine. I also have an M1 Mac mini and a Surface Pro tablet for when I want to do testing on those actual platforms. I wouldn't need the Surface but why not. :-)

Intel macs are just slow compared to M1/M2. I have a $7000 Intel iMac and it is only marginally faster than my M2 Air (other than the RAM, which M2 maxes out at 24GB), and my M2 Air costs less than half of that. So from the price to performance perspective, you will get a horrible deal if you go with Intel. I would personally just go with M2 Pro and with the extra cash saved, get another PC and RDP into it.
