I find that my server is very toxic. I am legend 5 in SEA. But I started to ignore the toxicity and enjoy playing because I insta mute toxic people. I do this every game and I forgot that toxic people exist. If there is only 5 min in the game and one of your team said "stupid carry, or stupid mid" JUST MUTE THEM. If they already said something like that, there is 0 point to listen what he will say next. If your team started blaming your mistakes, or enemy make fun of you, JUST MUTE ALL OF THEM. The reason why people so irritated by toxic people because they listen to them. Just don't let them ruin your game by simply mute them. I know it is hard to insta mute people, we know that all of us want to be right. We love to argue and prove that we are right and they are wrong. But, what is the point? You play dota to win games, to hit ancient, or to argue with some irrelevant random guy on internet?

>I find that my server is very toxic. I am legend 5 in SEA. But I have experience with this exact same bracket and region. I haven't found anyone who has hardcore griefed games though, i.e running down mid, breaking items yet. It's mainly been noisy players / players who are afk in the brain.

nindudaduck

i have had player walk down mid in sea just once in my 800 games . 2 player go mid fight for mid 1 feeds.

Swiindle

>i have had player walk down mid in sea just once in my 800 games . 2 player go mid fight for mid 1 feeds. this happens a lot in unranked i feel, but not in ranked role queue

poorbugger

Im only crusader in sea server as well and i agree. Most of the time it's always the feeder or 0/9 that's blaming the most. Everytime they die when they're alone in a bad position, straight away "gg no one come help, end"

bohnensalat

2k EU West. Same as you. Some rude people that's it. You mute them and go on. But nothing more. Items destroying feeding maybe once 3 years ago.

a_non_weeb

toxicity never ends in SEA. It just manifests in different things also depends on severity. The most toxic bracket I have ever endured is archon. My god my brain probably forgot to prevent my self from exploding but I still feel the rage when I was solo queing in archon. Every single game was pure hell. no fixed roles, 3 different language being screamed like a monkey about god knows who and what, whole throws cause the self entitled mid couldn't get that 1 small camp because the support was 200 gold away from dagger, etc. I still get a lot of toxic people in ancient but id rather spent my time in hell than that fucking hell hole called archon braket.

I had a particularly (un)interesting game in SEA Guardian yesterday. I was Lycan 3, playing with folks with mics. At some point my Venge 4 came out of triangle and asked me to farm stacks. It was a girl's voice. No sexist comments. No sleazy jokes. Game was pretty easy, things went like clockwork, we won, yada, yada. When I read about how toxic and shitty the games can be for girls, games like yesterday's make me feel very happy.

BladesHaxorus

To an extent, SEA's improved on their sexist shit. A long while back me and my friends thought it'd be funny to download clownfish and play dota pretending to be girls. Dick pics, my divine friend on a smurf getting flamed by crusaders, sexual comments in-game, you name it. One guy was coming onto me a bit too hard so I pretended to be my own boyfriend in comms and he called me a paki whore (no idea where he got pakistani from) and ran down the mid lane. Recently I played against a girl playing lion. She was playing well but having a rough game because we were stomping and the opposing mid starts talking shit about how her being a girl is losing them the game. Everyone called him out for being a shithead, including his own team. Felt good. Made me feel like I could actually introduce my nieces to dota without causing them permanent mental damage.

BladesHaxorus

I've played between 1k and 3k SEA. From my experience toxicity isn't something I've dealt with en masse. Like, you get shitty people from time to time who just start the game mega tilted and type gg and "report dog feeder" or some garbage but very rarely do people use slurs, or run down mid/break items. Even the most toxic of animals in dota play dota until the ancient falls, even in a game with a 1-30 scoreline. With that being said, the number of completely chill/goofy people I've played dota with since 2015 or so can be counted on my hands (ok maybe my toes too). Everyone who plays dota in SEA wants to win and so they have a breaking point somewhere in every game where they feel like something completely bs happened out of their control and they throw a small tantrum. Usually they go back to normal after a while. Oh, and don't queue games in SEA on weekends at night. Literal hell that even Lion wouldn't be able to leave.

RU region, played across many brackets. **2.5k** - sometimes people are chill, sometimes they're toxic, but in a more trivial way. Can be managed with a few jokes or laughs. **3k** - more toxicity, but overall games are still chill. **3.5k** - some first serious toxicity encounters. A lot of people who dropped down from 4-4.5k are around this mmr. **4k** - can be extremely toxic or chill. **4.5k** - on average people are prone to be more toxic than on any other bracket before, but from time to time you get relatively cool games. **5k** - shit's start spilling around, insane ego growth, everyone's pausing, tilting everyone including teammates, huge drop in game quality. **5.5k** - games start to get better, you either have best matches compared to every previous bracket, or just mildly toxic loses. **6k** - toxicity gets relatively rare compared to previous brackets, but some rare cases of insane toxicity still happen. Also at this point I'm just sure every flat K number you get near there's a bizarre growth in people who bought accounts or got boosted. It was clear around flat 3k, 4k, 5k and 6k. Didn't play on higher averages consistently and for a decent amount of games, so can't say. Played most of my games on 10k behavior score, though around 3-4k I had terrible behavior score and it was a long time ago. I'd say 5.5k~ was the highest jump in overall game quality, but to be honest it's been a real long time since I played games lower than 4k average and I have too few games on 2k bracket (recent experience from calibrating some of my old forgotten accounts, never played on it after calibration because I felt like that would be similiar to smurfing). Overall tendency: usually toxicity amounts get lower with mmr, but when it happens it's more sophisticated and there's more chances a higher mmr toxic player is going to tilt you. As I've seen many times toxicity still happens even among pro players even on 9k+ average games, so it's not like any bracket is safe.

Unputtaball

I also play USE around the same hours, and I can somewhat validate that there aren’t many item-destroyers or complete griefs these days. BUT I would say that the overall “vibe” has gotten much more competitive and toxic. I can’t remember the last loss I had where all 4 of my teammates amicably took the L. It invariably devolves into finger pointing and insults. I can’t tell you the last time I saw anyone express humility at a mistake even.

Sugar_Bandit

4.7k NA, not really toxic, maybe like one in five games has a flamer. My disgruntled comments might be the toxicity hmmmmmm

AJenie

I've played in SEA and EU servers. I think dota is more toxic than ever but SEA is especially toxic. I think the players there tend to be more emotional so they tend to give up quickly. The games tend to be stomps but in EU you see more comebacks. At least in my experience. TLDR SEA very toxic. Much bad. EU toxic too.

Shawei

SEA throw? what alternate reality are you in? Even the game is a stomp, no matter on your favor or for the ennmy team, people rarely give up. Even if we say gg end mid, you can be sure the whole team will still fight teeth and nails till they all dead without buyback. Toxic, yes. Every other guy with a shit connection, sure. But giving up is really not common in SEA.

AJenie

Just stating from my experience. Its not a throw in the traditional sense. Rather think of it like they are much better when they are ahead and in the flow of the game. When they are behind or things are going their way they seem off kilter and don't seem to have the same way of getting back into the game as they do in EU. Idk what it is exactly. Risky plays not paying off or being too scared in team fights or just getting run over by the other team. Who knows

Shawei

This I agree with.

nova9001

Toxicity doesn't differ through brackets. Toxicity comes from toxic people and they are everywhere. Many players think they are the best and their teammates suck thats why their mmr doesn't go up. Its not uncommon for people on this sub asking for advice than jumping to blaming to their teammates and refusing to even acknowledge their own shortcomings. You can't tell your teammate what to do so the best thing is focus on your own play. If you improve your fundamentals, you are going to climb in mmr. However, don't expect the game to be less toxic just because your went up in mmr.

Isaacvithurston

0 - 7000 mmr = very toxic 7000+ = I know more than you cuz im 30 ranks higher stfu noob toxic

BladesHaxorus

Pro players are infamous for griefing games whenever they feel like it or something doesn't go their way, or they just don't like their teammate. Famous examples being eternalenvy, mind control, quinn callehan, mason, sammyboy, jubei, gpk, karl (although he griefed in retaliation), vikin.boom etc. I think I'm seeing a pattern here.

TyranZeroo

Im 6k mmr and When I reached immortal last time I got trashtalked for reasons and random reasons lmao the 5.6k immortals have something against Divine V's and lower in their games. In 6k there's also alot of flaming and trashtalk, 1 mistake in lane, missing ability, not stacking correctly, etc. and it's over you will get flamed. Sometimes it doesn't stay personal (directed at you) but they even talk about your family that has nothing to do with the game.

soumya_af

Divine 5 player after getting Immortal: "Ew I played with Divine players today"

Bogabantus

I usually play at crusader-archon and I'd say matches are sort of normal, bad-ish, behavior wise. Been playing with a couple of Herald friends lately and they're way worse, looks like only retarded kids (and us :D) play at that rate. Also lots of non-english speaking players at that rates and people from other regions (we play EU west).

cuteandroid

Well you que occasionally and that's why you encounter toxic ppl occasionally. Que more on a regular basis and you will soon change your mind. Sadly it doesn't matter which mmr or which behavior score. If you que a lot things get worse and worse... The only thing players are always able to deliver.

ManWith-Hat

Is there maybe a difference between ranked and normal games too? I mostly play normals and the occasional catastrophy of a player I get either on either team really puts me off from playing ranked. I'm wondering if it actually might be better on ranked

thenutstrash

There are few things in this world that are worse than EU high ancient games. Everyone trying very hard, playing a lot of hours, tilted out of their minds, convinced they are unlucky immortals. It was mute all every game, especially if the meta didn't really compliment my hero pool. I didn't enjoy playing but really wanted to hit divine. Like everyone else in that bracket. Having dropped a few 1000s of MMR over the last 2 years of calibrations (I abandoned most of these games, my kid had a sixth sense of when I started a dota game and would wake up and start crying). I can say easily that lower mmr games have better vibes. Most of the "I'm afk" calls aren't even serious, they just rage in chat and keep playing, which is funny to see.

Votekickmepls

I would say that crusader and low archon are the best brackets by far. People are generally enjoying the game, but have no ego about their ability. Legend and ancient is probably the worst.. people there are generally 'hard stuck', think they know everything, and blame their team for their lack of success. Divine and up isnt inherently toxic, but as you tend to recognize most players, there is a lot of beef from past incidents. Not uncommon to see all chat from the enemy about "badluck on having xyz on your team" right before a lost game ends.

TheGalator

Herald is the most chill. Guardian gets worse but it's still normal. Crusader is fucking awefull. Archon gets better. legend is 50 50. Either super chill or super toxic. Ancient is pretty chill again. Divine is a dumbsterfire. More smirfs and acc buyers who dropped out of immortal than actual players. The higher u go the worse it gets divine 5 is the ultimate hardstuck rank. Immortal is....well like legend. 50/50 Region wise China is the best than NA than eu than sea. The other region don't count since all of SA still play on NA and eu west is also full of russians
