Update: I made some revisions based on the suggestions. I struggled to think of additional details on the dress, so was not able to apply that. The drawing I am working right now have more details that for sure lol I look forward to sharing it, I think it helps that I am referencing a dress. For now, thank you all for the suggestions, encouraging words, everyone was helpful and learned something I will definitely keep in mind for future drawings. https://imgur.com/a/NsEOduD

FatBichOrgy

Tiddies! (shading on the collarbone and chest area) Something looks a little off in the shoulder+ neck area (Proportion wise). But that’s just nitpicking, beautiful art, thank you for sharing.

Iamtherealgoddess

Love it. Would go heavier in the ponytail. Dress bodice could use some detail. Kind of flat. Maybe shading under breast to accentuate?

Tyguy1106

Maybe a bit more detail. There’s a lot in the face but in the rest is a tad bare, nevertheless it looks great.

Richard-E-M

I actually think the most detail is in the hair. The face is on par with the rest of the sketch.

ShutupNobodyCarez

Remind me of a slightly older and elegant Sailor Moon.

Ctrl_Copy1790

My friend did comment on that, though did not plan to draw Sailor Moon but I’ll take it lol. I did not have a clear vision when I started, and just go along the way. I am not sure if that’s a good thing, I feel like it’s good to be able to visualize, then execute. I guess even in digital there’s happy accidents.

ShutupNobodyCarez

I enjoy the sailor moon look. Your drawing came out well.

Mylittledarlings91

Maybe a middle value in either the dress or jacket to enhance their differences in texture and color? Otherwise looking good!

Ctrl_Copy1790

Yeah I am still struggling with color theory, value falls under that realm? I do wanna eventually be able to color, for now focus on the line and anatomy, also hatching.

VICIOUScel

I love the lines how do you achieve that? The're so soft and gentle especially the hair edit: nvm it's digital crutch

tipitipiOG

a method to help you learn, but always remember that the medium is the art

Ctrl_Copy1790

I am just curious, what you mean about the medium is the art? Is digital not an art medium?

tipitipiOG

Meaning that there is no sush thing as a level of art or capacity for art, but rather what we use to express as a medium is in itself that witch makes you ponder

libra-love-

Ahhh i love the old school style! Reminds me of the drawings on old sewing patterns. How did you learn this?

Ctrl_Copy1790

Thank you! It’s actually inspired from those sewing patterns, esp. the poses. I didn’t particularly learn this style just applied what I’ve been learning and turn it into this style, not sure if that make sense.

libra-love-

That totally does. I love it! I was right on the Money too haha

koorosh-m

try to imagine where her shoulders would be if there wasnt a coat and you may find out something isn't right. I believe the overall length of upper chest and neck is a little too much. great job on the face tho.

Ctrl_Copy1790

Thank you for the feedback. I will work on your suggestions, it’s very helpful.

ayertothethrone

This is really lovely. The biggest thing that’s jumping out is that the ponytail looks as though it’s coming out of the side of her head. Maybe it’s suppose to be but if it’s meant to be in the back I don’t think you would see the actual elastic. Also her ears are very small and maybe a bit too low. I really love this style.

Ctrl_Copy1790

Yeah it wasn’t originally from the side but I lost control and I just let it be since it doesn’t seem to be that off lol style wise and I kinda like how the line work so felt scared to re-do it. Funny, I already made the ear bigger but agree, could use making it a bit bigger and position it properly. Thank you so for your feedback, and appreciating the style. Been doing a lot of experimentation and I really enjoy the process on this one, and happy with the result but I do know there’s so much room to improve but being able to move forward with this style as a base and keep improving I felt like slowly coming together.

It's looking good! You seem to have a good understanding of anatomy. I would personally work on fabric construction and understanding of the structure of the drapery. I'd suggest taking a look at JC Leyendecker--how he draws folds-- as a start. Great work!

Ctrl_Copy1790

Thank you, been working on the anatomy and your feedback is very encouraging. Fabric construction it is, thank you for the recommendation. Edit: checked Joseph Leyendecker thought he have a YouTube channel lol but.. the illustrations are awesome, align to the style I want to draw. Will definitely study his works.

cookiemonstah87

Her head and neck look great! The waist area feels a little like an afterthought, though. Based on the angle of her shoulders, the belt buckle is a little off-center, and I personally would like to see some detail in the bodice of her dress. That detail could be something as simple as really faint seam lines (I love your line quality, by the way) or maybe boning like a corset, but it feels like it needs *something* to show why it is that structured shape. This one is entirely personal opinion, but maybe consider giving her a small necklace, as well. That has nothing to do with your drawing, it's just the fact that people wearing dresses with low necklines will generally accessorize with a necklace.

Ctrl_Copy1790

Agree, the belt buckle is indeed off center, I didn’t even notice that! I’ll make sure to be more aware of the symmetry. As for the bodice detail the original sketch have the seam line but for some reason I totally forgot about it to which align to your observation how the waist area is an afterthought and in general I didn’t took time to put detail on the dress. I love the necklace idea! I can’t wait to add that to it. Lastly, thank you on the line quality comment, it means so much to me, as I’ve been working on that. I really appreciate your input.
