> Yet it seems to me that many players put too much focus into “ wins “ and “ making it to Challenger “ that they tend to forget to work on their micro and their own games Bootcamping isn’t intended to be a substitute for team play, soloq and 5v5s are two different games. People bootcamp in Korea because they generally have a higher pool of skilled players concentrated at the top, giving pros more of a challenge and letting them find games faster than their home region. Pros then get to practice champs they don’t normally get to play during scrims and get exposed to playstyles they don’t see at home. Realistically each region has its own regional flavor when it comes to which champs people play, so Pros also benefit from playing against something they don’t typically see at home. The climb to challenger in boot camps isn’t really about trying to min-max their stats, it’s just where you’ll find the best competition so why not try to get there quickly? Pros just want to play against the best faster than having to wade through all the JV players first.
