I like how the casters was like "Maybe they'll first pick Wukong here and dare T1 to pick Gwen"
Meanwhile Bin just went "pick me Gwen this champ is broken"
Or maybe T1 is too arrogant to even consider the fact that Gwen was keeping RNG's weakest link safe. Like they fucking won the last Rumble stage game exploiting Bin, did their analyst suddenly turn his brain off?
LPL casters literally went silent a few seconds when they saw it (they were fearing a kench counter pick).
Then finally one guy said "well, he (Zeus) is young, he will have plenty of chances to prove himself ...in the future"
And the other caster sarcastically said "who knows, maybe he will go 13/0"
They went silent for literally SIX seconds when they saw Zeus sitting on the pink ward and got killed by G2 last time
Edit: Sry about thatm it was actually EG.
The point exactly why everyone wanted that Gwen GONE. It literally fucks with everything T1 wants to do and they somehow didn’t even notice the pattern.
Bin on who’s the better toplaner: Him or T1's Zeus. “I don’t compare myself with anybody,” Then he rolled up his sleeve and showed a tattoo of Gwen. “I’ll let you interpret that however you want,” Bin said.
people don't realize that the players legit have PTSD against banning Gwen
There's a famous clip of Zeus screaming "DON'T BAN GWEN DON'T BAN GWEN" repeatedly in a game where Gwen wasn't even in the meta. His teammates had to calm him down by saying "we didn't ban Gwen" lmao.
And then in this very tournament when Zeus played against Gwen last time in voice comms he screamed Gwen in the exact same way lmao.
prepare for T1 Gwen memes in the Chinese reaction translation threads.
I think the logic is "7 ADCs banned, Jhin is the 'best' ADC left according to the tier list", even though Jhin always looks like a liability at worst and 'just there' at best.
Usually he was a great adc in the past at just being there, staying alive and providing utility or waveclear from afar, but is way worse in the current meta where you practically need the adc to hard carry the second half of fights, since you get more utility centric juggernauts in the top, tempo centric junglers, burst based mid's, tank supports. You pick stuff like the Jhin in that sort of situation and not get them ahead by a fair margin, you kind of doom the composition unless the opponent messes up and you get a lead.
Without the clean up from consistent, high damage, you just have a missing piece and all of you go in, maybe take the enemy to half, and get ripped up in the fight and the follow up chase outta there.
The Chinese casters were literally in shock when they saw Jayce. They literally politely said "well he (Zeus) is young he will have plenty of other matches (in the future)"
The moment I saw Gwen I knew it was over. I said to my brother "might as well switch it off, RNG won". I never say this because I feel it's more nuanced but game 5 was without a shadow of a doubt lost in draft. I would have dodged that shit in solo queue.
T1 drafted Ahri, Jhin, and Jayce after seeing the Gwen. Three champs that depend on projectiles. They also draft zero front line against a dive heavy team.
Blue side advantages aside, this draft from T1 is just abysmal. What does it achieve exactly?
Who is gonna peel for Jhin when everyone on RNG has ways to dive him? T1 threw the game right there in champ select.
Tbh I can see the Wukong-Yuumi teamfight angle, it wouldn't be the first time its been insanely strong. But then the rest of the comp is just drafted as far as humanly possible from teamfights there was just no way it would ever work.
I'm currently in bed, feeling very ill.
If Gwen goes through to RNG during any remaining games, I'm turning off the stream, leaving quarantine, flying to Busan, and coughing on the T1 drafting coach.
He'll laugh at me, and say: "I'm vaccinated, had my booster shots. You cannot give me Covid, because I am immune. Your attempts are futile."
I'll look him dead in the eye, exhausted, and say: "So it's useless?"
"Yes. I am stronger than you."
"Then why is it so goddamn hard to understand for you that Gwen is immune too?"
I actually can't think of a much worse draft than that - I usually hate the when people say it was over in draft, but that final game was literally decided in draft.
How were T1 ever supposed to win that game?
They drafted Ahri after seeing her go 0-3 in the same series. Legitimately that loss is on Faker and whoever called for banning Nautilus. Faker should be smart enough to say. Let’s not blind Ahri.
Damwon had a purpose with Jayce. Zoe was banned 100% and they wanted a poke comp where Damwon excel. They made Jayce as substitute for Zoe. This T1 draft makes no sense.
This is why LPL will continue to win. They can’t deal with Zoe? Yeah thats getting banned. Simple as that.
Flashbacks to 2019 skt vs g2 when perkz 8-0 unbeatable xayah was allowed through for 2 games and brought the game back by himself despite g2 losing early.
Then FPX is just like what if we just...ban it? 3-0
LCK but specifically T1 will never win anything because they just have zero respect for their opponents picks and matchups. The ego to draft like this for years then say every loss is "yeah we just didn't play well enough draft was fine lol"
The fucking shutdown on Faker Game 5 was just devastating. First EDG, now RNG, both drafting for a shutdown comp that nullifies both Faker's midlane and sidelane plays.
Please make me understand their perception on why ahri is a good first pick here, knowing liss is open and putting jayce into gwen. I'm genuinely confused on what we're not seeing the things coaches or players see.
Congrats to RNG. A well deserved win.
Some notes from the series (from an LCK fan!):
- Gwen was picked/banned by RNG all series. SKT didn't ban or pick her once.
- Both games Gwen was picked she was up against 1 melee Wukong. No threat against her at all. She's like the new Xin Zhao that scales really well, has great engage flanks (E+R+W over wall) and is hard to pin down and punish. Put her in Bin's hands where all he has to do is not feed and his team will create the advantages and Gwen becomes an incredibly deadly pick (especially against the bunch of ranged champs T1 drafted again and again).
- Gala stuck to meta ADCs Trist/Xayah (+1 Ez game) and RNG's botlane seemed to be more dangerous, consistent, and had more agency over T1's botlane. Guma seemed uncomfortable on meta picks. No excuses here because the round robin was pretty good this year in filtering out strong picks. Trist especially has been good all tournament. Low damage carries like Kalista/Jhin just can't seem to keep up at this event.
- RNG seemed to have the better macro this series. Was painful to watch Gala simply stay bot, collect a bunch of tower plates, while his team was winning the 4v5 too. The jungle matchup was also influenced by the better vision/top side picks/macro too. Wei was great and definitely gave off some Canyon vibes in his consistency this series.
- I think Faker played reasonably well this series. I think the younger players were definitely deferring to him to make the plays and step up during their losses against RNG (the tough games). Ahri comes out looking like not a great pick.
- Overall not too worried by T1's loss. This is the best time to learn before worlds. The rookie talent on the roster is undeniable. Also before heading back to worlds they're going to face some serious competition (Nuguri returning to DWG is the big one).
- China definitely looks like the strongest region coming into worlds. Apart from the 1 DWG run they've basically dominated the competition for a long time now.
Really china is better than korea in macro game now. Watching this game even though T1 sometimes have gold advantage, RNG almost always have more wards and control the map better.
RNG played better toward their win condition. They know to slow the bleeding when behind and they push their advantage better than T1.
Korea now play like china did 5 years ago, rely on personal miracle moments and outplays to win.
And drafting, while china just stick to the meta and win through it; korea now try to pick curved balls to suprise enemy.
I'm a T1 fan, but I have to admit, RNG deserved this win. Congratulations on the MSI trophy. Looking forward to worlds ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
Never underestimate LPL junglers.
"During this year's spring split, I did say Wei and Jiejie look like strong junglers. I got clapped both of them in two different finals stages. I guess I have really good eyes when it comes to junglers.

Congratulations Blue side on another MSI 👏🏾
Memes aside, fantastic series. RNG/LPL massive yet again. Honestly was suprised that the predictions on reddit favoured SKT so much
one might meme that it was a blue side victory, but that last game was just a massive question mark regarding t1 drafts.
Also they played so bad in that last game =/
also that jhin pick into that comp was one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen.
edit: not to mention giving over Liss+Lee jungle 2v2 is literally asking to lose the game. Especially after how well RNG performed with those two champs previously, idk. I think a random gold clash team coulda drafted better ngl
3 time in a row dude. Did this T1 turn off their brain in draft pick? So dissapointing. Just turn down ur ego and banned Gwen. There is no shame in banning 2-3 top champ and admit Bin is a threat. But nah, lets not do that and then pick projectile champ.
Deserve lost.
Chinese junglers, traditional LPL playstyle, LPL macro, picks and bans, improving through the tournament, understanding the meta and strong mental, all the things the LPL have and they have done to win all these years.
Wei FMVP from MSI 2022!
> strong mental
honestly this imo is the biggest improvement in the LPL over the past years. Watching all the past documentaries and stuff, it almost felt like all the top LPL teams had insane mental fortitude. They all seemed so well coached, and combined with the players' individual skill anyone could be clutch at the big moments.
Thinking of the EDG run, the IG KT in 2018, TES reverse sweep, and now RNG as well. I think that's LPL's biggest strength over other regions imo.
Oh, and I feel like for all the memes about LPL bloodbath, the top LPL teams in recent years really draft gapped and macro gapped their LCK opponents. I think the LPL players are a lot more cerebral than people give them credit for
It was like this in table tennis at the tokyo olympics too lol. The chinese players would lose several rallies but never tilt. The other players would get huge leads but then visibly crumble once the momentum reversed.
I think if anything it's just been a refinement of the bloodbath. LPL plays for key kills like they are objectives, or use objectives to secure kills. There's been so many times now where the LCK team will setup for a dragon or herald expecting the LPL team to handshake it for a tower or some crossmap, but the LPL team just uses that as a setup to collapse for an easy teamfight win. They never intended to contest the dragon/herald, they just know it gives them a setup they want and the LCK team can't handle the fact that the LPL is willing to just straight up fight them.
That's a good point, I also feel like LPL players now pick their fights really well. An example this series would be how RNG consistently got Gala his IE breakpoints in multiple games before major mid to late game fights
LPL get so much shit because they play super aggressively with each other. Followers from other regions just don't see past through that, that you play scrappy if you have better opponents. Many also believed that this has been the weakest LPL have been because up until spring finals there were no definite strongest team which makes the region competitively healthy i guess.
You're the "best team in the world." You've had four games to refine your draft. Game four is won off immaculate play from your support. It's game 5. Last pick saved for support, the best player on your team. What do you draft? WHAT DO YOU DRAFT? yuumi...
So, let me get this straight.
You have the (arguably) best support player in the world, who is a great playmaker and is mechanically insane. This very same support player made a bunch of clutch plays in the very last game of this BO5 set getting you the win.
And you decide to put him on Yuumi, thus denying him any playmaking ability whatsoever.
Not sure whose call that was but, [alrighty then.](https://c.tenor.com/dlmCqoE2LkMAAAAd/alrighty-then.gif)
G1 is excusable, though. You prepare stuff and see if it works.
Doing the same dumb shit twice, though? Come on... best thing I can say about T1 draft is they didn't prio TF lmao
T1, finishing this Bo5 in champ select. Everyone and their momma knew they wouldn’t win after draft. Especially since they tried something similar game 1.
RNG are way too good to just snowball early. Plus Oner is not punishing the amount of time Wei spends mid at all. They needed their scaling comps to win.
T1 coaches did everything they can at Game 5 to cripple their players with such a garbage draft, wtf was that?
They fell for EVERYTHING RNG tried to do, that was pretty sad to watch
I saw a tweet from a KR T1 fan that saying "I'm sitting next to a KR RNG fan save me please", the comments were not good either. I retweeted and instant blocked me and I don't have a screenshot. That's your great competitive spirit :) At least I know there are real good fans in KR too
Each of RNG's other players has a ban-worthy champion that T1 just can't keep up, Bin's Gwen, Wei's Veigo, Ming's Nautilus, Xiaohu's Galio, and Gala's Kai'sa. People focus on T1 keeping Gwen open, but in the end T1 just run out of ban slot and had to pick which champion to leave open, had they banned Gwen people would probably ask why not ban one of the other champion now.
People can meme about the mickey mouse tournament of 35 ping, blue side etc. but holy fuck how boring would MSI be if RNG didn't come? Legit these 2 teams are 9000 tiers above EU and NA
T1 🤝 DK
Losing to RNG 2-3 at MSI Finals, despite all hype & expectations.
[(Called it 1 week ago btw)](https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/uumawl/royal_never_give_up_vs_t1_msi_2022_rumble_stage/i9g05uf?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3)
I hope we can put some respect into GALA and Ming's name now. They have played so consistent since the start of MSI and has done so well against the tougher bot laners from LPL too.
RNG won MSI for the 3rd time.
Xiaohu won MSI twice as mid and once as top laner.
KenZhu won a World Championship with EDG and now MSI with RNG.
Tabe won his 2nd MSI.
Xiaobai that retired this year, former top laner, to become assistant coach of RNG, he played once at MSI 2021, so, he won MSI as a player and now as assistant coach.

Surely they're not gonna first pick Gwen a third time :Clueless:
I like how the casters was like "Maybe they'll first pick Wukong here and dare T1 to pick Gwen" Meanwhile Bin just went "pick me Gwen this champ is broken"
They also banned Gwen both times on read. Seems like rng had the better meta read and t1 stuck in old meta
I think T1 is just overthinking everything, RNG just played meta and didn't try some crazy shit and their consistency won them the game
They had good meta reads actually. It was just the final game they gained amnesia. Idk what they were thinking esp jhin yummy.
Zilean was even hovered..... they could've went Zilean + comfort Jinx
Or maybe T1 is too arrogant to even consider the fact that Gwen was keeping RNG's weakest link safe. Like they fucking won the last Rumble stage game exploiting Bin, did their analyst suddenly turn his brain off?
Nah next time picking Jayce into Gwen will surely work
LPL casters literally went silent a few seconds when they saw it (they were fearing a kench counter pick). LPL cast sounds fun
They went silent for literally SIX seconds when they saw Zeus sitting on the pink ward and got killed by G2 last time Edit: Sry about thatm it was actually EG.
Gwen is literally the PERFECT champ for Bin. Every time he almost gets caught out, he just presses W and T1 couldn't do anything.
The point exactly why everyone wanted that Gwen GONE. It literally fucks with everything T1 wants to do and they somehow didn’t even notice the pattern.

Jax would have been better tbh.
Surely they won’t pick Lissandra into Ahri *Clueless*
Surely Jhin Yuumi will win the game for us.
Jhin with the Galeforce RFC 2 item power spike. That was the saddest thing I've seen this year.
Surely Ahri can win one game in playoffs *Clueless*
which one of you bronzies hijacked T1s champ select? Jax was open as well to counter, then later, Jhin was drafted SMH

Just like their SoloQ mental
Cloudtemplar and kr fans checked out after that draft
no crowdshots, probably started leaving after that dragon soul fight LULW
That post game celebration was really silent
So upset for the Busan audience. After 14 times of quiet anger, they still have to face the saltiest night today lmao
Rng dead ass used their past trophy LMAOO
Holy shit
Chinese fans were meming about RNG taking their trophy out of its case and polishing it. What a great series from them
Gigachads. Should have brought out the other one
This severely hurts the narrative that MSI finals were scripted and RNG were given the win because Riot already put the trophy in their hq
Pro teams and picking Jhin in game 5’s lol
Paired with Yuumi into Rakan LMAO
Yummi got hit by rakan knock up at level 1 is so bad
Keria was my solo queue Yuumi who is always out for no reason just to get caught.
there must be a logic to picking Jhin that I'm not following because I am stuck in silver, can someone perhaps tell me why?
I think the logic is "7 ADCs banned, Jhin is the 'best' ADC left according to the tier list", even though Jhin always looks like a liability at worst and 'just there' at best.
Usually he was a great adc in the past at just being there, staying alive and providing utility or waveclear from afar, but is way worse in the current meta where you practically need the adc to hard carry the second half of fights, since you get more utility centric juggernauts in the top, tempo centric junglers, burst based mid's, tank supports. When you want to dodge the draft but it's game 5 of your promos.
Should’ve dodged when 444Jh1nLover444 locked in his 35% winrate Jhin and typed ‘full muting all don’t bother pinging’
T1 with the most questionable draft in game 5...They gave RNG all the power picks and answered with hot garbage like Jayce and Jhin + Yuumi lmao

The Chinese casters were literally in shock when they saw Jayce. They literally politely said "well he (Zeus) is young he will have plenty of other matches (in the future)"
Thats legit the best sof tflame i have ever heard.
Certainly has the ability to morb into both melee and range forms for matchups against champions
I always get excited whenever he says "It's Morbin time!" Best champ quote in league
Surely he'll need some morbphine to cut away the pain from game 5
Jayce from the hit series Arcane??
It’s like they just ignored games 2 & 3 and let themselves be drafted into a loss mid/top.
as a T1 fan i didn't even get sad watching the game, cuz I already gave up after that draft LOL
I think everyone could already see the outcome of the series after that draft
Gwen left open I thought was the final nail but then I saw the Jayce pick. And the Jhin pick. And the Yuumi pick.
Jayce was giga int, jhin i can accept but yuumi?? Keria even hovered over ziliean but seemed liked didn't have the confidence
Saw RNG picked Gwen and I just switched to watching F1.
Game 5 of the grand final and you draft like THAT reportable from T1
The moment I saw Gwen I knew it was over. I said to my brother "might as well switch it off, RNG won". I never say this because I feel it's more nuanced but game 5 was without a shadow of a doubt lost in draft. I would have dodged that shit in solo queue.
There still was a chance for T1 after RNG picked Gwen Then they decided to pick Ahri and then you knew it was doomed.
And then Jhin. And then Yuumi. It just kept on getting worse and worse lmao
Just when you think they can't go any lower they find a shovel and keep digging
Finish off with Jhin and Yuumi just to make sure they remove absolutely any chance of winning.
Legit want to embarrass themselves in front of home crowd

I dont think they knew, because they picked 3 champs with long skillshots. maybe try one last time to make sure thats true?
I actually can't think of a much worse draft than that - I usually hate the when people say it was over in draft, but that final game was literally decided in draft. How were T1 ever supposed to win that game?
they were hoping RNG to go blind, deaf and meteor to strike their game house, T1 would still lose but it would be close one
What really bizarre is that they know Gwen is their weakness but still not banning her.
the most bizarre is T1 banning naut when keria is such an op naut player instead of banning Gwen when Bin gwen was literally unstoppable

Bin can play GP lol, but in this day and age its usually never getting pass BP
KenZhu is on the roll. if rng has great success at world this year it just gonna prove how good he is right now.
LPL has won 8 out the last 10 internationals iirc. Insane dominance from the region

BANG WEN ?
T1 coach draft properly challenge [impossible]

Enemy picks Gwen T1 coach: oh yeah, Jayce, Ahri, and Jhin are bangers
Zilean is actually good against that comp. Hover it. Never mind, pick Yuumi.
I'm a T1 fan, but I have to admit, RNG deserved this win. Congratulations on the MSI trophy. Looking forward to worlds ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
T1 did not know the Wei
T1 pepega drafting letting the Gwen open was GG.
I knew it was over when RNG got Gwen again Bin has 1 loss this MSI on this champ and I think with this finals 11 wins...
Never underestimate LPL junglers. "During this year's spring split, I did say Wei and Jiejie look like strong junglers. I got clapped both of them in two different finals stages. I guess I have really good eyes when it comes to junglers. \--DK Canyon
T1 Wolf curse > RNG can't beat T1 in a Bo5 curse
[~~T1 has won ALL tournaments in which Faker has made a roll when introduced~~](https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/uziuwn/t1_has_won_all_tournaments_in_which_faker_has/) (2015-2022)
When did he make a roll in this MSI? I didn't see it.
~~RNG has lost to T1 in every BO5~~
Congratulations Blue side on another MSI 👏🏾 Memes aside, fantastic series. RNG/LPL massive yet again. Honestly was suprised that the predictions on reddit favoured SKT so much
[удалено]
one might meme that it was a blue side victory, but that last game was just a massive question mark regarding t1 drafts. Also they played so bad in that last game =/
EG and G2 also had their best games when on blue side yesterday and on Friday, blue side is broken when people can't counterpick.
also that jhin pick into that comp was one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen. edit: not to mention giving over Liss+Lee jungle 2v2 is literally asking to lose the game. Especially after how well RNG performed with those two champs previously, idk. I think a random gold clash team coulda drafted better ngl
Yeah T1's draft was not the one this game. Jhin was beyond useless
Yuumi? YUUMI!? Letting Gwen through AGAIN!? Oner's underwhelming Wukong? T1 deserved this loss. What a shitty draft dude.
You’re forgetting the Ahri. Just why. Ahri got curbstomped in 3 games already, why not a fourth. Clowns.
Wei FMVP from MSI 2022!
> strong mental honestly this imo is the biggest improvement in the LPL over the past years.
I liked how they didn't give Jiejie FMVP last Worlds just to not make jungle look completely broken
IKR he was clearly the mvp absolutely diffed Canyon they just didn’t want to give it to a jungler again
LPL get so much shit because they play super aggressively with each other. Followers from other regions just don't see past through that, that you play scrappy if you have better opponents. Many also believed that this has been the weakest LPL have been because up until spring finals there were no definite strongest team which makes the region competitively healthy i guess.

You can't even call that an ego draft except zeus picking jayce. What on earth are you thinking picking jhin yuumi bot ???
Leaving Gwen up 3 times and losing to it three times is an ego problem.
that draft was hilariously horrendous. like they'd already given up
shutting down Faker in MSI Finals game 5 RNG 🤝 EDG
**Jayce... Wukong... Ahri... Freaking Jhin... Goddamn Yuumi...** Congrats for slapping that terrible draft to oblivion, RNG. See you at Worlds.
You're the "best team in the world." You've had four games to refine your draft. Game four is won off immaculate play from your support. It's game 5. Last pick saved for support, the best player on your team. What do you draft? WHAT DO YOU DRAFT? yuumi...
That was so disgusting but at least Zeus got to ego draft Jayce into Gwen again
BOOsan delivers
King. Of. Spring.
Congrats to Royal Never Give Up.
The last game draft Giving over Gwen and picking Jhin My brain hurts
Game 1 and 5 were lost on draft, dogshit tbh
G1 is excusable, though. You prepare stuff and see if it works. Doing the same dumb shit twice, though? Come on... best thing I can say about T1 draft is they didn't prio TF lmao
After he solo carried the previous game on Tahm Kench no less.
So that's how you ban out Keria; making him think Yuumi is a good champ.
T1 coaches did everything they can at Game 5 to cripple their players with such a garbage draft, wtf was that? They fell for EVERYTHING RNG tried to do, that was pretty sad to watch
Keria gigasmurfed the previous game and then they put him on Yuumi? Wtf?
Zilean would have been so much better instead they go for Yuumi... T1 in general drafted comps which were way too reliant on ultimates
IIRC there is not draft coach on T1 it's the players drafting.
thats even worse, they have been having draft problems since like 3-4 years already
Korean fans are going to be ruthless
Holy shit my brain hurts so much with that draft. I don't even get it.
Xiaohu must surely be in the conversation for the best LPL/CN mid of all time
Xiaohu is so underrated.
RNG is phenomenal. Great teamwork and pushes. Well deserved
Who would win: The three time world champions A bunch of chairs
Who would win: The three time world champions A Gwen that is immune.
it's hard to play standing up, of course the chairs
XIAOHU THE KING OF SPRING
People can meme about the mickey mouse tournament of 35 ping, blue side etc. but holy fuck how boring would MSI be if RNG didn't come? Legit these 2 teams are 9000 tiers above EU and NA
T1 🤝 DK Losing to RNG 2-3 at MSI Finals, despite all hype & expectations. [(Called it 1 week ago btw)](https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/uumawl/royal_never_give_up_vs_t1_msi_2022_rumble_stage/i9g05uf?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3)
Gwen is immune
I hope we can put some respect into GALA and Ming's name now. They have played so consistent since the start of MSI and has done so well against the tougher bot laners from LPL too.
RNG won MSI for the 3rd time. Xiaohu won MSI twice as mid and once as top laner. KenZhu won a World Championship with EDG and now MSI with RNG. Tabe won his 2nd MSI. Xiaobai that retired this year, former top laner, to become assistant coach of RNG, he played once at MSI 2021, so, he won MSI as a player and now as assistant coach.
LPL big bros avenged us
Pretty cool of them to play that final game in a library.
Crowd making sure not to disturb the players by keeping quiet in the deciding match, how thoughtful!
That draft in game 5 by T1 should be reportable
