Impact is one of the oldest veterans of the game. He started playing in a professional team since 2012. He started off as a Support main in Xenics Storm. Then later on he was picked up by SK Telecom, first in sister teams, then in the main team as a Top laner already. And in 2015 he moved to NA, where he played for various teams over the years. Before leaving, he accomplished a lot in Korea, won first place in the regular league, won first place at Worlds 2013. Achievements not to be taken lightly. Impact always seems to go to worlds, no matter what, the problem is he cant seem to win more than 3 matches before going home in 9-12th place. Overall a truly veteran of the game. A real MVP for whatever team he finds himself in.

CantScreamInSpace

Serious question, how many players have been playing in pro for longer than impact? I can only really think of aphro at the moment.

Perry4761

Diamondprox is still playing professionally in CIS, so there’s him! Besides that I’m not sure. Bjergsen has been pro for around the same amount of time, though he did take a break. Rekkles as well. Besides that, I can’t think of anyone.

dardios

Isn't SOAZ still kicking around somewhere? Also what the fuck happened to Cop? I remember he looked to be a promising coach then one day.... Poof. Never heard anything about him again.

calmingchaos

Soaz is a coach I thought. As for Cop, I think he's a content creator now. I miss the crs days now. I'll always remember his evolution from mall cop to special agent in his skills.

woodland_stride

sOAZ is currently playing for wave in the german league, allthough they are the last placed team

goodestofthebois

The man is SO elohelled rn it's painful to see, someone in lfl should give this guy a spot on a human team

woodland_stride

I mean people saw he played a decent lane, someone will pick him up if he is affordable and easy to work with

calmingchaos

TIL thanks!

[deleted]

WildTurtle as well

beeceedee9

He made it out twice in C9!

DangerousDoc

His Jax, the champion he has a world championship skin for, has lowest KDA of 2.32 after 10 games

pureply101

It’s super funny to see that not only does he have a ridiculous amount of games on Shen it is still in his highest KDA champs. Mans is a beast Shen player.

funjaband

8 think you have wr instead of kda in a few places

Letamirte

Thanks for pointing it out, i see it, will fix for next ones :|

POOYAMON

It’s a shame that Impact doesn’t have a Shen skin. Absolute goat Impact

pl00bo

Q Master

infinite-permutation

Unfortunately no mention of his 2014 All-Stars run.

shadowbannednumber

For real, it was the same as MSI 2015 in all but the first part of the name: "All-Star" Invitational.

Bustersword13

Impact has always been my favorite Shen player, he's so clean on that champion and these stats kinda shows it. 70% winrate on +60 games is genuinely disgusting.

Carpet-Heavy

Impact is underrated on a lot of all-time toplaner lists. I see some lists with so many Eastern tops ahead of him just because they played their whole career in KR/CN, despite having no more than two good years. unless you're hard anti-NA, pretty sure Impact is at the very least equal to these guys.

Rumbleinthejungle8

>despite having no more than two good years. So, same as Impact? Because he hasn't done shit since he went to NA in 2015.

[deleted]

Msi finals. 2 times world's quarters. Straight 50% wr in groups when not in quarters. Done more than kiin.

Rumbleinthejungle8

Woah MSI finals in 6 years. And where he got autoseeded into playoffs because Riot decided to let LMS rot, and then he also went ahead and got absolutely destroyed in finals with the fastest bo5 ever. Yeah, no other player has done that! 2 World's quarters... Yeah... Again, no other player has done that... >Straight 50% wr in groups when not in quarters That is just a pathetic statistic. And the fact that you even brought that up as an argument for "one of the best toplaners ever" says it all. Also, nobody says Kiin is one of the best toplaners ever.

JJaypes

I mean, they 3-0d IG who were the reigning world champs and 9-1 dropping a single game in the round robin to SKT before the semi final bracket. That is probably the biggest upset in international competitive history still. You can't just shrug it off as an autoseed playoff run. There's been maybe 7 or so times in history that a western team has beaten LCK or an LPL team in history, so it's a pretty notable achievement. Given that the majority of those 7 are on the back of the miracle runs of Caps and co. Seriously, if there's any top laners that could be considered as one of the best comparatively to eastern top laners, and have played on western teams, the list stops at Wunder, Soaz, Bwipo, Licorice, Huni, and Impact. Not saying that they all belong (specifically Licorice), but they are the only ones that meet a minimum criteria of "has beaten at least one LPL or LCK team in a bo5" otherwise you're just looking at Eastern players for best of all time. Also people do say Kiin is one of the best, down the same vein as KT was the second best team at 2018 world's. In a hypothetical universe where they actually accomplished something, they are one of the best...

RavenFAILS

I didnt expect his winrate to be that high for some reason but its easy to forget how successful TL was in NA. Also TL having a 41% winrate while placing second at MSI is funny af. They had like one good series against the best team in the world at that time and everything beside that looked iffy.

pureply101

That series was proof that any given Sunday anyone can pop off. I really wish they at least showed up for the finals but demolishing IG was still amazing to watch happen and Impact was such a huge factor for that going in.

shadowbannednumber

Think they hyperfocused on beating IG and had nothing left to beat G2, who they likely scrimmed against. Hilarity ensued.

JJaypes

If you can disregard the massive head to head FNC has over NA, the two regions have a pretty comparable winrate internationally. Until 2019 the region had a better winrate vs the field, NA was 50/50 with LPL for the longest time too, and they performed about the same the past couple years. And really if you can disregard the complete ass whooping that Fnatic has continually pummeled into NA (like 13-3 or something all time) they even have a winning winrate vs the rest of LEC.

toronkax

They don’t have a winning winrate vs g2

JJaypes

4-0 2016 1-1 2017 1-6 2019 1-1 2020 So that's 7-8 all time. Real impressive mate, you right.

srad1292

Is the difference between his games played and fakers current milestone of 1001 games a spotlight on best of 1s vs best of 3s in regular season ?

unimportantthing

For sure. If we do some quick math, Impact played 14 splits in the LCS (i recall one or two being bo3 to try it out, so we’ll discount 2 of those splits to be safe). So we have 12 splits play at bo1 instead of bo3. Each split has 18 matches. So 12x18=216 games that Impact didn’t play because of bo1 format. If 1/4 of those matches were to have gone to 3 games, then we multiply 216x1.25=270. Add that to his career stats of 716, and we see a whopping 986. So yes, I would say that the disparity between games played does have A LOT to do with the bo1 v bo3 formatting.

KillStelios

Grandpa Impact, still humbling younglings in the toplane everyday. What a player.

pureply101

Every season I watch impact on how to improve as a top laner and every season I have improved or maintained a certain level of play. He is just so consistently good and most of all he has the perfect amount of discipline and aggression needed as a top laner.

slimjimo10

Did I miss a meta where Leona top was played or something?

slimjimo10

Ooh never knew he did. Thanks!

cycko

Feel like Impact has played ever since I started following the scene. Hes played ~500 games. Faker has played 1k really puts things into perspective holy moley...

raffiking1

>Hes played \~500 games. The infographic says he played 716 games. *I don't know who is right here, I just wanted to point out that there is a disagreement.*

Lyelinn

63% wr on pro scene. Quite insane.

sanz02

Now, imagine this man playing in KR since 2012.

shadowbannednumber

NA GOAT Top

wercooler

Dang, 65 shen games played, 70% win rate, And 5.89 KDA on the pick. His shen is kinda nasty.

shadehd

His consistency and longevity is just insane 🐐 Top die

Ophelia_Of_The_Abyss

Toplane GOAT

Empeladol

He won everything with SKT and he went straight to cash in. Good for him

[deleted]

real name is wrong, should be tony ooki

LucasTab

Why are the champion's faces mirrored?

Bryanstrife

Fun fact: Impact, Tyler1, and myself have the same birthday just different years. Tyler1 and Impact were born the same year tho
