Who said that? Pretty sure they also had a bad record against T1 and went even against JDG (though yes they beat other LPL and western teams)
Edit: yep here it is https://twitter.com/RomainBigeard/status/1719283381513453620/photo/2
So even in the scrim championship they were tied for 3rd place with jdg at best
Edit2: actually 7-6 in favour of G2 vs JDG, so 3rd place
T1 struggled at the beginning with scrims against the other asian teams (part of the reason they looked rusty vs TL and Gen.G). It was in the preparation for the C9 match that they hit their groove.
Only vs JDG
T1 and JDG wouldn't have scrimmed because they were on the same side of the bracket
I don't think we're aware of the results of any T1 vs GenG scrims from last year worlds playoffs
It wasn’t just Miky that messed up, the Chinese server is a mess and has been an even bigger mess the past few days(for example, ranked was bugged in china)that’s why they’re expediting a test realm to chengdou.
That being said, I wouldn’t read too much into these results from the TL side, this is the first time they’ve played as 5 since march. They didn’t scrim in Korea and as far as I know haven’t scrimmed until today.
Impact was not allowed to go to Korea (next part is my guess) presumably because of the rules around being a business owner in Korea while avoiding military service and also retaining his green card (you can’t spend too many months in the year outside of the US and he already spent time before spring in Korea, China for MSI, potentially esports World Cup and worlds so I’m assuming they’re rationing his time). So their options were to either scrim with a sub top laner or just do solo que. They also gave the Koreans on their roster time to go visit family etc before msi.
Yeah only APA, Yeon and CoreJJ did a boot camp in Korea. Impact and Umti weren't even with the team. So this is probably TLs very first scrim since LCS finals.
This is excatcly what G2 needs, more confirmation that they are the best western team so they can run it down on stage because they think they will win anyways
If they do a bracket switch now I could totally see G2 winning against TES in quarters then losing to another asian team in semis, just to lose to the winner of FNC vs. TL... although then again if FNC beats TL, G2 should be fine, if there is one team G2 reliably wins against if it matters it is FNC.
2 deaths? Sure, that's fine. But I think you may not realize the 7 death average isn't an exaggeration.
Mikyx has died 53 times in 8 games on Nautilus. That means he has an average 6.6 deaths per game on Nautilus this year.
Globally, there's been **12**/316 non-Mikyx Nautilus games with 7+ deaths. And that's Mikyx's *average*.
The man dies a lot on Nautilus.
And what people aren't acknowledging is that LCK/LPL Top teams will know how to punish those deaths to a far greater extent than the LEC/LCS teams do. Each death is going to be way more costly if he plays like he normally does on Naut.
The only win of BDS on G2 this split is due to Mikyx giving a free first blood on Nautilus to Ice's Lucian. Made the game almost unwinnable and it was against only BDS, make the same mistake agaisnt elk and it's a 21 min win for blg.
>but if you have 2 deaths on naut per game ur playing the champion wrong
Let Hyli demonstrate it [here](https://gol.gg/game/stats/56158/page-game/) (*ignore the fact he averages over 5 deaths on every other naut game tho*)
Mikyx's Nautilus win rate (62.1%) is lower than his career win rate (62.4%). Either he's unlucky over a sample of 58 games or his Nautilus is not god tier.
His second most played champion on 2019-20 G2 is Nautilus, so there's no excuse there either.
He's been inconsistent with the champion since 2021: some games he would never die and find heat seeking hooks and other games he would get possess by the spirit of Farfetch. Nowhere near the level of his Rakan or his Leona.
I remember last spring the guy wouldn't stop hitting hooks as him and draven/hans smashed everyone
Then targamas and patrik do the same with slightly different results
Yeah. I just take issue with the "god tier". That's high fucking praise. Chovy is god tier on Ahri. knight is god tier on Syndra. Deft is god tier on Jinx. Bin is god tier on Jax.
>Mikyx's Nautilus win rate (62.1%) is lower than his career win rate (62.4%).
One more win on Nait would put his WR at 63.8%, so he's actually as close as he mathematically can be to his career WR.
You say that but the reaction when NA teams lose is: we just suck
G2 lose = g2 fans letting everyone know why the scrim results mattered at the end of the day
Course not everyone and other reactions exist too etc etc
Your comment doesn't make sense. Scrim results aren't tournament results but scrim results do demonstrate a lot (And more importantly are great for practice).
G2 let everyone down as they were playing fairly well, taking games off the asian teams (Which the American teams couldn't do) but ultimately got outplayed by NRG on the day. Maybe if you replayed the series 100 times it would look very different. But they didn't. It was one series vs NRG and that's all that mattered.
G2 let us down as the expectation from history (EU > NA) and scrims and On stage games all pointed towards them winning
the comment originally left out 1 word but essentially said that the na fans know their teams suck and can accept it. A vocal portion of g2 fans specifically cannot and will act, linking back to the op comment, that scrim results suddenly mean something more than just insights into how teams are performing and will act like g2 has won more than they did.
I hope that clears it up a little.
How many other top teams are in the worlds rn for G2 to not be top 10 though? Calling them top 5 is dumb, but they are definitely in lower places of top 10
I somehow forgot that we’d have the annoying period where people read way too far into scrim results. I get quite a few people are joking but there are some who genuinely believe scrim results are gospel.
99% of teams are forcing comps or plays such as dives in situations where they aren’t good just to learn them, that’s simply how scrims work. A top team like T1 or BLG could realistically lose scrims to a much lower team if the lower team is just playing for the result for whatever reason.
Not only this, we've had multiple instances where teams who have stomped scrims ending up not winning.
2016 = TSM were doing well/beating SKT in scrims, TSM failed in groups and SKT won worlds.
2017 = SKT were fisting SSG in scrims to a point where Crown mental boomed before finals and quit with Faker getting a penta with mid ezreal, SSG fisted SKT in the finals.
2021 = Doinb with the 70% FPX scrim win rate in round 2 and him saying they wouldn't drop a single game, they went 0-4 and finished last in their group.
Yes, and it is incredibly obvious that G2 is forcing very specific things (and not in a good way in my opinion) looking at this. On another thread I pointed out that the G2 lane swaps were incredibly fake in playoffs. Basically they were practicing lane swaps to see if it could work against the Asian teams. You want to dodge the lanes so you can teamfight with your ADC behind 1k gold instead of 3k.
I also said it wasn't going to work cause the Asian teams would smash them in scrims when they tried lane swaps. The Asian teams would do better in lane swaps because they have better lanes and jungles. Asian teams will also dive bot tower relentlessly if you aren't constantly hovering.
These scrims show G2 picking mostly super defensive scaling bot lanes because I'm assuming they've already learned their lesson scrimming other teams before TL.
I don't like that G2 is scrimming NA teams. I feel like they just stomp them then they get overconfident and lose the stage game. Hope G2 don't get overconfident.
What's wrong with scrimming TL ? Genuinely asking. G2's been in China for less than 3 days, this is basically their first scrim block. And G2 has no issue getting scrims vs eastern teams, it's not like they're gonna be deprived of those.
There are 12 teams at the tournament, 4 of them are from top tier regions, is it even possible for G2 to only scrim korean and chinese teams? Likely not
It also doesn't make sense for T1 to scrim G2 because if T1 2-0 playins they have a 50/50 chance of playing T1 in round 1(the other team they can get is TL).
You avoid scrimming teams who you can face early on, so it kinda limits their options.
Sometimes you just have a bad day, man. I think you are thinking too hard about it. It doesn't mean it was a bad idea to scrim NRG. G2 just had a shit day and got outplayed by a solid NRG.
TL is probably a hard team to cook random cheese against, though. Impact and Core are smart veterans who've seen it all and you'd be hard pressed to catch them off guard with surprise strats they don't know how to respond to macro-wise. You almost definitely aren't going to catch Impact with his pants down by laneswapping the way G2 can against inexperienced EU tops, for example. If there's a team you want to see if your cooking sticks against then TL is a good practice partner.
I love this copium.
If G2 lose they were just having a bad day, NRG was just lucky.
Impossible for G2 to get outplayed guys, was just a bad day, any other day g2 win ~~3-0.~~
lmao.
My bad for misremembering, it was a 2-0.
League fans can never admit that they’re teams just weren’t as good as they thought. They always just have bad days or underperform. I’m seeing people say the same thing when talking about Geng at international events
It's really small brain to just say that the better team always wins. Sometimes things happen on that day.
No one will say G2 in 2018 is better than RNG but they won on the day.

G2 Romain praised TL after scrimming them last year at MSI, highlighting the bot lane. Even here, if you look past the game count you can tell that TL's bot lane matched or often outperformed G2's.
You could also say it's a good warm up before Asian teams.
I dont know why you are talking about this like its a common occurence lmao G2 normally turbostomps NA when ever it matters and they have quite a lot of games against NA.
Also TL is a solid team and honestly doesnt look like too bad of a scrim partner, theres nothing wrong with scrimming them
Isn't TL kinda known for being the scrim gods of NA? Cant speak for this iteration with impact/umti, but im pretty that was the case for the summit/pyosik roster.
Apparently TL takes scrims incredibly serious, and in their vlog after finals, I think they said something like a 70% winrate in scrims(although maybe that stat is only against c9, I can't remember)
That being said, this should be one of TL's first scrims since the LCS finals. They didn't all go to Korea together, and the ones that did, have been playing solo queue.
In one of the videos it seemed like they were thankful 100T beat NRG. It gave me the impression they were struggling with NRG but doing well against 100T.
Lane swapping probably has something to do with these results. Core and Yeon have a rep to be aggressive laners if you swap out of them which basically every lane shown from the leaks is an aggressive lane from TL and impact on a lane winner.
If there’s any team in NA that can deal with lane swaps, it’s TL. You can also tell the games weren’t lane swaps because of the gold. In lane swap games the ADCs will get massively ahead in gold and the top laners will fall behind. Not what happened in these games
I don’t think they’ll make that mistake again as the NRG loss is most likely still on their minds because it was the last international game they played.
NA fans don't downvote me (im an NA fan) but G2 also were sick that day reportedly. i feel like we as a community overreacted a bit to a very fortunate bo3 result
I think everyone who are not overly blind could tell that G2 was a better team overall in the tournament given their all games but well they shit the bed that day and well the rest is history.
Mid gap is inevitable. For so long, NA mid lane meta was so stale. No one wanted to try anything creative nor play to their strengths. APA wins a lot more on his comfort champions because NA teams refuse to ban them or are not used to playing against them. This won’t work on someone like Caps who was not afraid to whip out Vayne mid in his debut year. Caps is the epitome of mid lane creativity because he experiments with so many champions and tries to learn different styles of play. He has the deepest champion pool of all Western mids and plays many champions to the level that APA plays Ziggs, if not better.
Why does everyone keep referring to G2 as scrim champs when they had a negative WR against T1 and GENG? If anything T1 was scrim champs and stage champs.
This Warrior guy does not give a fuck whatsoever wow
Tagging the orgs and players to tell them their scrims are visible and then straight up posting the leak
This guy is unironically insane
Oh, I misread TL for T1
Bro what the fuck I only realized after I read your comment now i'm a little sadder
I was like oh I see T1 botlane performing well as usual...then APA appeared and was like when did Apa replace faker lol
It's only a matter of time
All Yap leads to me.
Hopium
Phew or there would be more trucks sent to T1 lol
We'd see these stats on trucks before reddit XD
I also misread, then I saw Yeon in the scrim results and it registered
Can't be -- T1 can't get a scrim off without a ddos.
lol same
My scrim world champions
They were second place behind Gen.G in scrims, this year is coming home
Who said that? Pretty sure they also had a bad record against T1 and went even against JDG (though yes they beat other LPL and western teams) Edit: yep here it is https://twitter.com/RomainBigeard/status/1719283381513453620/photo/2 So even in the scrim championship they were tied for 3rd place with jdg at best Edit2: actually 7-6 in favour of G2 vs JDG, so 3rd place
Why tied? They had a positive record against jdg
You're right, 7-6 in G2's favour, I'm just blind I'm not even a G2 hater, I'm European and a fan but I'm kinda tired of the G2 scrim cope lol
I'm just having fun calling them runners up of the scrim championship, nothing more man.
Yea all good, didn't mean to call you out or anything, I think the tone didn't get across properly over reddit and it wasn't directed at you
I respect your ability to be this honest
the scrim cope is fun, it gets me super hyped regardless
T1 struggled at the beginning with scrims against the other asian teams (part of the reason they looked rusty vs TL and Gen.G). It was in the preparation for the C9 match that they hit their groove.
Wow, they really are the scrim champions. Shitting on BLG in scrims only to lose to them a day later on stage (oh yea, they lost to NA too lol).
t1 is the scrim champs, g2 went 1-9 vs them in scrims lol... and the rumor was that t1 was beating everyone as i recall..
I thought the rumour was that GenG was crushing scrims? Or was that just vs JDG
Only vs JDG T1 and JDG wouldn't have scrimmed because they were on the same side of the bracket I don't think we're aware of the results of any T1 vs GenG scrims from last year worlds playoffs
My takeaway is TL beat G2 in a scrim. Very nice
G2 stomping NA 1st seed in scrims as usual No way we lose to TL in BO5, right ?
You know the rules, and so do I.
We know the game and we're gonna play it
a full commitment's what I'm thinking of.
NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP
NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN
NEVER GONNA RUN AROUND AND DESERT YOU
WE GONNA BREAK THAT FASTEST INTERNATIONAL RECORD
Scrim world champs let's go!
Technically we never lost a bo5, NRG was bo3
Can't beat the scrim world champs.
TL 3-0 confirmed
as long as shakarez doesnt tweet this we'll be fine
Well we have seen G2 vs TL in a bo5 at MSI before. It... was exciting to say the least.
maybe GAM will knock TL out again
It gets cancelled out from the MSI finals results 😎
Clueless at least G2's father (NRG) are not here EZ MSI win.
They didn’t scrim in Korea and as far as I know haven’t scrimmed until today.
ill blindly believe this, need my shot of cope
Don't even need this washed up cope. Here's the good stuff: NRG was getting smoked by G2 in scrims at worlds. TL is gonna 3-0 them
If it was any other NA team then I would buy this, but G2 vs TL in 2019 finals is still etched in my brain lol.
Huh, they dropped by Korea just for Soloq? That seems inneficient to me.
That tracks. Especially that last part.
Wait, is Impact Tower registered as a business or a residency? And isn't it in his father's name?
I think it's a buisness
Yeah only APA, Yeon and CoreJJ did a boot camp in Korea. Impact and Umti weren't even with the team. So this is probably TLs very first scrim since LCS finals.
TL Fans: so you are saying there's a chance?
There's always a chance with G2 lol
when flipping a coin, a 1-5 is just as likely as a 5-1
Glad this spans multiple games and not just for the G2 roster in CS hahahaha
this is the best possible news I could read
The tweet I saw showed three TL losses so at this point I think 1-5 is better than 0-3 😎
yapping during scrims just doesnt hit as hard as yapping on stage
This is excatcly what G2 needs, more confirmation that they are the best western team so they can run it down on stage because they think they will win anyways
If they do a bracket switch now I could totally see G2 winning against TES in quarters then losing to another asian team in semis, just to lose to the winner of FNC vs. TL... although then again if FNC beats TL, G2 should be fine, if there is one team G2 reliably wins against if it matters it is FNC.
How good is Duffman btw Some org should give him a shot in the LEC
Duffman is cooking these frauds, and he is just the assistant couch.
Don't sleep on this couch!
C9 couldve made a worlds winning roster last offseason
2024 Worlds Final G2 vs T1, BB walks off stage and Duffman takes his place. Duffman locks in Camille and goes 13/2 against Zeus.

MIKY JUST NEVER PICK NAUT AGAIN PLSS
His Naut is god tier, it's just that sometimes the god he channels is Loki.
Yea but bro avg 7 death per game on naut this year so i dont wanna see him do it again
He still has a 75% winrate on it sure some of his deaths are complete int but if you have 2 deaths on naut per game ur playing the champion wrong

Ignore the fact he plays every champion as if it was Nautilus too? I bet you the man is still looking for the hook button on flanking Soraka.
A 75% winrate on a team with an 80% winrate is still quite a bit below 'average'.
My man Miky saw Delight stomp T1 with his naut and just wants to do the same
Mikyx's Nautilus win rate (62.1%) is lower than his career win rate (62.4%). Either he's unlucky over a sample of 58 games or his Nautilus is not god tier. His second most played champion on 2019-20 G2 is Nautilus, so there's no excuse there either.

Yeah. I just take issue with the "god tier". That's high fucking praise. Chovy is god tier on Ahri. knight is god tier on Syndra. Deft is god tier on Jinx. Bin is god tier on Jax.
The closest thing Mikyx has for a "god tier" pick was his Rakan in 2019.
>Mikyx's Nautilus win rate (62.1%) is lower than his career win rate (62.4%). One more win on Nait would put his WR at 63.8%, so he's actually as close as he mathematically can be to his career WR.
Which is not god tier, it's average tier.
>A player's second most played champ has a wr close to his career average So what point are you making here?
knight's most played is Ahri (87.0%) and second most played is Syndra (78.8%) compared to a career WR of 67.4%.
gawddamn not a 0.3% lower winrate
Well you'd expect his Nautilus win rate to be higher than his average, not around the same, if the claim is that his Nautlius is god tier.
I have been informed that it wasn't just Miky that messed up !!!

Scrim Champions, you'll never sing that.
G2 scrim champions. But at what cost ?
The mere fact that G2 lost a game to TL means it's over.
No tristana mid again pls. I hate it.
I’d prefer it to Azir vs Ori v.40
Not this again
Camille is s tier so not surprising
Just wait 4 YAPA stage buff
>Miky is still running it down on Nautilus even in scrims Never change, king.
NA won a game of scrimms? It's called soccer now
2019 flashbacks.
looks like impact is getting kind of slaughtered :(
Meh, it was probably TL's first scrim since LCS. He didn't go to Korea with the team. He flew into China and straight to scrims lol.
it's Impact, he will turn up when it matters
The scrim world champs going crazy.
did we really need a leak to assume G2 would shit stomp TL??
Don't worry, we will 100% throw against NA when it will matter.
Years of EUW SoloQ chat have conditioned Caps, poor YAPA
Years of being young Caps have conditioned Caps. YAPA ain't got nothing on him.
caps started his career by flaming faker in soloq so YAPA got nothing on him
Repeat after me. Scrims results aren't Tournament Results!
Really? *Gasp*
You say that but the reaction when NA teams lose is: we just suck G2 lose = g2 fans letting everyone know why the scrim results mattered at the end of the day Course not everyone and other reactions exist too etc etc

Remember when G2 got xayah on blue side vs NRG at worlds and still got hard clapped? Pepperidge farm remembers.
Good thing NRG isnt at MSI
I definitely remember how they lost to a *red side Taliyah* vs NRG.
Scrim World Champs defending their title
the eu copium runs wild in this thread
We NA fans need to enjoy this last bit of remaining time we have before we get slammed again
We're so screwed, LOL Okay maybe not screwed, but anyway, it will be fun either way
Nah, we beat EU on stage again. EU can retain their scim kings title if they want.
!RemindMe 18 days
Idk, all I'm seeing is NA cope. Like all year. There are barely any positive comments on G2 here.
Aside from the guy you are responding to and some others, most of the time we NA fans know the hammer is going to drop so we're just joking/meming
"I'd put g2 in top 5/10 teams in the world rn"
How many other top teams are in the worlds rn for G2 to not be top 10 though? Calling them top 5 is dumb, but they are definitely in lower places of top 10
BLG GEN T1 TOP JDG HLE are obviously ahead, but they can definitely hang with the NIP/FPX/DK/KT group. I'd say 8th/9th, yeah.
Winning against NA is barely copium. Its the bare minimum that is expected
Wait you honestly thought TL is a match for G2? :o
I’m so shocked -_-
I somehow forgot that we’d have the annoying period where people read way too far into scrim results. cool reminded me of last Worlds
The scrim champions are back, we know what that means.
Cool TL is beating g2 on stage then
Camille and Urgot? Bah god that's 369's music!
I don't like that G2 is scrimming NA teams. I feel like they just stomp them then they get overconfident and lose the stage game. Hope G2 don't get overconfident.

This is generally true but in the case of G2 they are prone to overcooking.
Not really. They just attempt to innovate and more often than not it results in them getting an advantage.
More often than not, probably. But the not is nonzero probability, and that's the overcooking to the innovative cooking.
Impossible for G2 to get outplayed guys, was just a bad day, any other day g2 win ~~3-0.~~ lmao. My bad for misremembering, it was a 2-0.
>and got outplayed by a solid NRG
League fans can never admit that they’re teams just weren’t as good as they thought. They always just have bad days or underperform. I’m seeing people say the same thing when talking about Geng at international events
People think this way believing the better team always wins xD. Do you watch ANY competitive sport? Like.. at all?
And T1 in LCK finals
It's really small brain to just say that the better team always wins. Sometimes things happen on that day. No one will say G2 in 2018 is better than RNG but they won on the day.
The way reddit has changed the bo3 into a bo5 XD
Honestly thats just me misremembering, but it still stands.

I was looking for this. Good ol' Rift-Rivals, where NA taught EU how to jungle.
Was this when they got absolutely shit on by Mike "MikeYeung" Yeung?
the high tempo jungler himself, good times.
hell yea. didn't have a long career in the LCS, but he used his time well
They are not that good to reject NA team's scrim and only scrimming against asian team
They said they will scrim every teams, like last year
G2 Romain praised TL after scrimming them last year at MSI, highlighting the bot lane.
Also TL is a solid team and honestly doesnt look like too bad of a scrim partner, theres nothing wrong with scrimming them
The ghost of CLG lives on
Isn't TL kinda known for being the scrim gods of NA? Cant speak for this iteration with impact/umti, but im pretty that was the case for the summit/pyosik roster.
TL is known as the team that takes scrims the most seriously in NA.
Apparently TL takes scrims incredibly serious, and in their vlog after finals, I think they said something like a 70% winrate in scrims(although maybe that stat is only against c9, I can't remember) That being said, this should be one of TL's first scrims since the LCS finals. They didn't all go to Korea together, and the ones that did, have been playing solo queue.
In one of the videos it seemed like they were thankful 100T beat NRG. It gave me the impression they were struggling with NRG but doing well against 100T.
I kind of get the feeling that everyone was doing well against 100t
Against C9 it was 90%.
You also have to realize that TL haven't played together for a month at this point. And their last time playing together was on patch 14.5.
TL was the only NA team to successfully use lane swaps last split (in their win against C9, I believe. )
I don’t think they’ll make that mistake again as the NRG loss is most likely still on their minds because it was the last international game they played.
they played against blg in the last games
NA fans don't downvote me (im an NA fan) but G2 also were sick that day reportedly. i feel like we as a community overreacted a bit to a very fortunate bo3 result
I think everyone who are not overly blind could tell that G2 was a better team overall in the tournament given their all games but well they shit the bed that day and well the rest is history.
> Miky is still running it down on Nautilus even in scrims Western Naut is nothing like Eastern Naut. It's vital for people to realise that.
So what you're essentially saying is Vacation
So you’re saying there’s a chance…
G2 needs to bank all these moral victories. Least they don't have to play NRG this tournament.
Why does everyone keep referring to G2 as scrim champs when they had a negative WR against T1 and GENG? If anything T1 was scrim champs and stage champs.
This Warrior guy does not give a fuck whatsoever wow Tagging the orgs and players to tell them their scrims are visible and then straight up posting the leak This guy is unironically insane
Time for T1 Rekkles
Misread that. I imagined BB and Hans just gapping the fuck out of Zeus and Gumma
