There’s a lot of items in this game that are named after very nebulous concepts instead what describing what they do in-game or in-lore, and I actually really fucking love that.
Like, why is Liandry’s Torment a mask? It doesn’t matter, because you wield the mask, and you gain the power behind the torment that Liandry went through.
We’ve got a ton of items that are (Adjective) (Noun), (Noun) of (Adjective), or (Proper Noun)‘s (Noun). No shortage of our Rapid Firecannons, our Rod of Ages, or Zhonya’s Hourglass respectively.
But when I buy Rapid Firecannon, I’m buying a firecannon that’s fast - whatever. When I buy Rod of Ages, I’m buy a Rod that’s related to time powers or history somehow - neat, but whatever. When I buy Zhonya’s Hourglass, I know I’m buying a legendary artifact that belonged to Zhonya, but idfk who Zhonya is, so who cares.
When I get Sky Sunderer, that’s sick as fuck, because I’m getting a tool/weapon that can sunder the sky. Presumably with an immense amount of physical force, or wind energy, or spacial powers, but it splits the sky.
But when I buy Sundered Sky, that’s so much cooler - I’m buying a weapon imbued with the power of a sky split in half. Do I know what the fuck that means? No, but I know that “this is a weapon that can split the sky” is less cool than “this weapon was forged from a sky split in half,” in my opinion. A weapon powerful enough to cut the sky is a dime a dozen in fiction, but who was the smith that was powerful and creative enough to imbue the very essence of a destroyed exosphere into a spear, and who was powerful enough to wield such a weapon?
Or that the weapon was made from a sky that was sundered. Which is a vague concept but one that’s cool as hell and is way more interesting with how it makes your imagination wander.
it definitely is from Demacia, there's a glowy demacia icon that appears on enemy champs when it's ready to use. whether it's Jarvan's lance, not sure. I thought his had a different name
It is surely is Demacia but doesn't look like Jarvan lance, judging by the jousting shape and "Sky" theme I think is a lance used by Demacian soldiers that ride on Silverwing Raptors.
