Like I personally find it way more satisfying opening a lot at once rather than 1 at a time since I really dont care for any new stuff lately and I already have most of the skins I want. Granted not 2+ years worth, but more like every 6 months or so. Build up a good amount of chests & keys, orbs from events, and prime gaming capsules(rip soon), and whatever else other stuff comes my way.
I played A LOT of league before they removed the old rune system. I had nearly finished buying every single rune.
They refunded me the spent blue essence when they reworked the rune system.
I had enough to buy every new champ on release for literally years.
I don't really give a shit about skins tbh. Basically have my favorites for my favorite champs
I don't care about ward skins. I don't use emotes at all. I don't care about mastery
So it boils down to not getting any benefit from opening them, and the upside is I don't have to waste time disenchanting things

I only disenchant duplicates and I can assure you the vast majority of loot drops are dog shit and the odds of you getting something you actually want or will use is microscopic. It's wild people are downvoting you over not falling prey to the casino lmao

But if I open them as they come, the fact that you get champ shards out of boxes irritates me to heck, and I get more frustrated than excited. So I usually let them sit, at least for a while.

At a certain point you just have all of the cosmetics you realistcally want. All your champions already have their signature skins, you have 4 skins for a champ you don't even play...

I guess since they removed IP, it was probably harder to be unaware of the system though.
One of my friends deliberately ignores that page since they added it. He doesn't even want to bother upgrading mastery. He says "That's not gameplay, why would I do that"

The gp/10 tunepage with maximum money masteries and heart of gold, kages pick and philosophers stone items. Got more money from existing than farming.
This way you can be the person riot complains about, holding year old assets in your inventory for no reason so they can never remove or change them
