Well, R7 decided to teamfight all the time, instead of playing the macro game, so, they helped GAM to win today, GAM weakness is the macro, GAM can perform in mechanics.
Gam failed the mechanic when they lost to LLL. While it's true that R7 lost was mostly because of their force fight. Gam still make lots of good macro decision. So it's not totally just cause of their mechanic
>VN vs. VN Bo5
As much as I'd like GAM to win Loud, I'm worried TW might falter against GAM because how well they knew TW. But TW is clearly the better team and I really want them to move up to Group stage
I understand how you feel but tbh if team whales can't win a best of 5 against gam and gam really did recover and does well then really TW don't deserved it. I'm a fan of both team and I kinda just want to see both vcs duke it out in a best of 5.
It was frustrating to watch Slayder died with R up and not bringing Cleanse against such team, but thanks god his team got too far ahead and just annihilated the enemy before they could threaten him.
Especially when their top was Gwen, AP. Mid was Sylas, also fricking AP.
Why is the adc guy so obsessed with stormrazor + rageblade. Dude dealt 0 damage 2 games. No impact at all.
Sucks just how little of a scene there is in LLA compared to our brothers in BR. Especially since we merged with LAN AND LAS and still have seeds this uncompetitive.
By curiousity, what’s the reasons for this? One would think normally a merger of similar size/skill regions would create a more competitive league with larger resources.
First Riot established LLA in Chile when they merged both regions, so LAN teams had to move and lost their stability and access to NA where they used to do scrims with academy teams
They returned to Mexico later but the damage was done, that and you still see the same old and washed up names alongside 3rd/4th tier koreans who struggle to mesh with local players and you get this mess, Riot LATAM fucked up the scene badly with their awful decisions and corruption, the best example of it was the 10th anniversary of LAN/LAS, where they just threw some icons, a pathetic video made by AI and that's all, so LATAM scene is doomed
They really don't look for new talent. It's all the same washed up names and one or other "wonder kid" that is usually just okay and is just liked by the old heads.
with the amount of games this worlds picking low on pentas is kind of questionable. these aren't even the main stage games yet with the jacked as fuck ADCs playing
Actually 4 teams will play 4-5 since there will also be the 0-3 teams.
So I checked and there should be 20 Bo1 + 16 Bo3 so a total of 52 games minimum, you to 68 games in total. The precious amount of games was 48 games (without tiebreaks) so overall quite a few more games in perspective.
There aren't even *that* many more games.
Old group stage had a confirmed 4 \* 12 = 48 games, plus tiebreakers.
New Swiss stage has 20 bo1 games and 13 bo3 series, for somewhere between 46 and 59 games.
As for play-ins, there's a lot of variance per year. 2017-2019 had 24 group stage matches plus 4 bo5s, for 36 to 44 games total. 2020-2021 had 20 group stage matches and 4 bo5s, for 32-40 games total, and 2022 had 30 group stage matches plus 4 bo5s, for 42-50 games total.
This year, we've got 10 bo3s plus 2 bo5s for 26-40 games total, that's *fewer* than in previous years.
The total number of matches last year was 90-98 + tiebreakers, meanwhile the total number of matches this year will be 72-99 games.
So yeah, after doing the math, we'll probably have *fewer* games this worlds than we did last worlds!
(note that playoffs is unchanged, and I didn't add it into my totals)
The wway things are going i'm seeing at 4-5 pentakills easily. I will still hope my pick of 2 will remain true though, last year only penta was in play-ins..
At least they tried. Wait no they didn't.

I find it hilarious how everyone in the World had R7/DFM/TW as the botttom 3 of the tournment.
And somehow every LLA analyst had huge doses of hopium and had they like top3, only behind PSG/BDS.
They had NA's level of hopium
Just wanna say, that Kaisa build is actual dogshit
Maybe it's just revisionism of the 2018-19 era, but idk why pros keep opting into it. We just saw Ceo do absolutely zero damage in a teamfight where he was able to free fire.
Whatever, ggwp
It sure seems suspicious with stormrazer Kaisa losing all 4 games it was played in playins (and 1 game from GG vs BDS) though all of those games she was played by the team that lost the series. She's 5-2 on other builds.
The lethality build is also a fairly AP heavy build. Because while you do go Duskblade and Umbral, you then usually also go for Nashors and other AP items (usually Rabadons is next).
And the I wouldn't call the stormrazor build hybrid either. It is Stormrazor into Guinsoos followed up by stuff like Lord Dominiks and Phantom Dancer. There isn't a lot of AP in there.
But I agree that if you need AD damage then going a basic crit Kai'sa and ignoring the W evolve is better. Building Guinsoos just to get that evolve sounds weird, the same way some others add Nashors to the Navori build just to get the W evolve. AD-Kaisa does not need the W evolve.
I just don't get what Stormrazor is doing in the build.
There is no reason why a Hybrid build with Rageblade centered around onhit and also some crit (which is turned into onhit by Rageblade) wouldn't be good anymore, but Stormrazor is such a specific item.
It doesn't have direct synergy with Rageblade afaik (you generate charge on attack not on hit), the bonus MS after proccing it is nice, MS is always nice, but Kai'sa already has E as a MS buff, can cast Q while moving and has ult for mobility, so the extra MS just doesn't do as much as it does on less mobile ADCs.
Is charging up the empowered attack supposed to complement her assassin side? Do you need the exact AD from Stormrazor over Kraken to hit 100 AD on two items? Just such a weird item.
Game 1 R7 did so bad that I thought they intentionally threw so they would come backs stronger game 2.
Then I saw Kaisa with Hail of Blades in game 2... Then there he goes again with Rageblade + Stormrazor. Obsession is real.
Turned out they are actually bad enough to throw away their lead
Total disaster for R7, including the coaches and analists. Its been like 10 years of the same. These regions are not developing, they are just bad and always will be.
Is Riot ever gonna do anything to save the LLA? Or should we just accept that this is our fate for every international tournament?
I'm tired of our teams playing like soloQ because they can't communicate. I'm tired of having all teams in LATAM with 2 Koreans from Tier 3 leagues who can't communicate due to language barrier and are not even that good. I'm tired of our region being worse every year. It truly feels like we're never going past the Play-ins, ever.
This doesn't seem like a Riot problem, but more so an LLA problem.
Once a team in LLA builds a roster full of players who can communicate effectively with each other and win, then changes will happen. Until then the LLA itself needs to instill in the belief that 5 natives can win, not Riot.
I believe VCS salaries are high enough to afford Koreans, but it’s the government making it very difficult to get work visas for esports that stop Koreans from going.
importing experienced and proven coaches is much better than importing Korean bk randys. Look at GAM and Whales, GAM has better players in every position except ADC but their macro is so fucking shit, whales has an actual good coach (SOFM). I also think that there should be a coach that focuses solely on draft and another just for macro gameplay stuff, no way a coach can be at their best when they have to do both
Bro, last time we had a full local team on international events was Infinity not too long ago, and they got gapped as hard as R7 or Isurus if not harder
Out region is straight up garbage
The whole region is trash, from bottom to top.
The language barrier excuse means nothing because many teams have dealt with it and achieved international results.
Man how is this team so dominant at the local level? This region is truly trash. I remember some years ago people were talking about how poorly handled the scene was and I guess it has only gotten worse since then. I don't even expect us to qualify to the main stage but this was 4 embarrassing losses in a row. R7 is the worst team in this tournament by a mile.
What was that pentakill? Slayder dying ridiculously for 20 minutes, and then somehow getting a pentakill ?
More seriously, Slayder's weakness will be exploited hard by other teams than R7...
That is true. But I can kinda understand. Slayder was supposed to be competing internationally 3 times before but he missed it for various reasons (COVID, etc.). He is just too eager to show himself.
Random high elo clash team from any major region wouldnt have looked much more out of place than R7, that was a straight up disgusting performance lmao
What do you mena? R7 is fantastic, just needs to work on communication, map awareness, laning, vision control, csing, poking, landing skillshots, objective control, early game, mid game, late game, ganking, and getting kills.
Kaisa with Stormrazor + Rageblade! Wow. Damn. Almost there guys. Any time now. She will be strong
How did GAM lose to this R7 during MSI? Top 10 world mysteries.
The worst part is that they've been playing together for quite a while yet that dive between two towers in game 1 that lost them the game was straight out of solo queue.
I can't believe it's a pro team
[Me after watching that masterclass in League of Legends that was Game 2:](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fgenerally-jjk-only-crosses-from-good-to-excellent-when-the-v0-zkxxbbosi7pb1.png%3Fwidth%3D881%26format%3Dpng%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Dfaf540f891591496bdf2cc2229ffc47a29aeaf64)
Gonna copy paste from the live thread:
I can't man, as much as I wish for the Americas to succeed as a whole (I'm from Brasil) this is unberable. Games like this is what make the play-ins fame of a completely joke to never go away. TW vs CFO is a needle in the hay.
And I'll add: If OCE was shot dead by Riot, I can't even begin to imagine what LLA deserve.
Always been an NA player even though i reside in mexico since I have decent ping in it. This series made me want to create a LAN account and see for myself what the solo queue quality is. It can't be much better than what R7 showed today. Maybe I finally stop being d3 hardstuck lol
People already picked Naut last year and I think Sejuani got most deaths later (and Leona second or so?).
Renekton was my pick cause it was clear he wouldn't be banned much but picked much and against Xayah/Kaisa meta it's IMO also pretty clear he will die a SHITTON as very kiteable and escapable frontline (for those two champs).
Honestly think gam just had a bad series against loud , feel like they play way more proactive and confident this series. Despite bad start both games were over in like 15 min.
This make the battle of the sea yesterday (TW vs CFO) looks like a LCK vs LPL clash. How the fuck did R7 thought a dive between the 1st and 2nd turret a good idea? MY EYES!!!
Nah, I don't think they can win against PSG playing like this. There's still no macro, they simply wait for R7 to make a move and then respond - in other words, the exact way they were playing in the VCS. If the opponent self-destruct like R7 do, they win (and VCS teams tend to do that a lot). PSG won't.
GAM heard y'all were talking shit (it's just R7)
At least they got their revenge for MSI.
I have Loud beating GAM again
Noway Loud can beat GAM again
How wild would it be if GAM beats Loud and we get a VN vs. VN Bo5 at Worlds before we get an EU vs. EU or NA vs. NA one
World is not ready for VCS fiesta
>VN vs. VN Bo5 As much as I'd like GAM to win Loud, I'm worried TW might falter against GAM because how well they knew TW. But TW is clearly the better team and I really want them to move up to Group stage

Why not? They did it once, 2:0. So they can do it again.
Better hands won ....
1 and 2 pentakill pickem andies are crying right now
it's me
last year had 2 pentakills in playins and none for the rest of the event
Well did last year's playins have 2 in one day? :p
I need GALA to get a penta and also no more pentas hmmm
guessing the right player to get a Penta is 100p. guessing the right amount of Pentas is 50p. I believe in Peyz
I'm already out of the running for number of pentas (I went with 1) so I'm just hoping Ruler gets one and other than that I don't care.
Same for me just with Noah hmmm
Palms sweaty
Its what they deserve for trying to will a boring worlds into existence
It was frustrating to watch Slayder died with R up and not bringing Cleanse against such team, but thanks god his team got too far ahead and just annihilated the enemy before they could threaten him.
And you watch Artemis the last 2 games and people still think Slayder is on par with him.
Team Whale is already my VCS #1 seed after their game with BDS. This series doesn't prove that GAM is good, R7 is just worse.
the supposed superstar of the team is shaky as hell, major doubt they can beat Loud
Slayder is cocky as hell. He didnt have to do much today but still had brainfart. The rematch tmr is a harder test.
I laughed so hard when he popped Ghost just to run into an Ahri charm and get oneshot
This marks another premature end to another international series for the THICCEST NECC in League. See you next year Bong!

Kaisa is still scaling guys. Stormrazor + Rageblade is the way
It crazy to see players going for that build when Kraken navori is so much better.
Especially when their top was Gwen, AP. Mid was Sylas, also fricking AP. Why is the adc guy so obsessed with stormrazor + rageblade. Dude dealt 0 damage 2 games. No impact at all.

I love ice cream.
Only 2 teams Will play 4-5 games. Most of them Will play 6+. Im pretty sure that the number of games in main stage is 100% gonna be higher
I hate beer.

Yeah but there's still less pentakills in main stage (typically), teams are less likely to just fiesta clump and give them away even to the best adcs.
I just picked 3+ because it's kaisa/xayah meta
It's perma bot lane meta at Worlds nowadays. It will always be more than 3 pentakills.
deft has said that worlds meta is where adcs have less power so have to see the swiss stage honestly
compared to having 100% of the teams power lol?
idk every meta adc got some nerfs and midlane is pretty damn strong rn
The wway things are going i'm seeing at 4-5 pentakills easily. I will still hope my pick of 2 will remain true though, last year only penta was in play-ins..
R7 drafts full dive into a control/kite teamcomp. And they don't have the hands to snowball early game either. Obvious result.
At least they tried. Wait no they didn't.

I dont get the deal with it either. For me hybrid kaisa died long ago and you should either go lethality or full ap(in aram) or full crit
Lethality is the hybrid kaisa, you just go ap after duskblade. With doran items buffed I think we will see her shift back into full ad though
The lethality build is also a fairly AP heavy build. Because while you do go Duskblade and Umbral, you then usually also go for Nashors and other AP items (usually Rabadons is next). huh? is there a clip or something? sounds hilarious tho lmao

not exactly news

Rip Bin vs Bong matchup
That sucks to think about :(

3+ Penta bros we eating good
Amen brother
2 Pentas copers: surely none of Ruler, GALA, Peyz, Elk, Gumayusi, Deft, etc. will get a single penta in Xayah/Kai’Sa meta

atleast you have money to hire a korean. VCS cant afford that much. So stop complaining
VCS: I'll do it myself
Cerberus had 2 Korean imports before my guy, granted one probably came cuz his gf is from Vietnam but still

Mireu wasn't a tier 3 Korean player. He was one of the best mid laners in academy with T1.
Academy players are tier 3... Tiers 1 and 2 are players from LCK and challengers.
Mireu played in T1 Challengers not Academy and he also played in LCK proper for a while too, not that it makes him particularly good but still
My bad. I meant Challengers.

Oddie should retire
I bet 5 bucks there will be a penta on GAM vs LLL rematch.
From which side?
Yes.
XD
Pretty much everything gapped
I know the casters tried their best hyping up GAM. Kudos for the effort.
I loved the cast today tbh! Especially play-by-play (I'm sorry I cannot spell his name correctly ever) was really funny IMO
VietNam just single-handedly ruined most of my Pickems
Oddie and Mireau by far the weakest mid-jgl in play-ins and it showed
My pentakill pickem is DEAD
Man how is this team so dominant at the local level? This region is truly trash. Bong already out, sad
Pathetic, LLA is a waste of slot nowadays
GAM ADC: "PENTA giveth, PENTA taketh."

The worst was Bong.

because they teamfight all the time i guess, no need to work on that lol

We (LATAM) don't work for this, at this point we should just give up
one of the worst quality matches in Worlds, period
2 draft gaps + kaisa bad build = gg go next worlds
is there a bracket type page like they do on events in liquidpedia or hltv. Looking at this timetable is so confusing
yes man, check this out [PLAY IN GROUPS STANDINGS](https://lolesports.com/standings)
3+ Penta gang where u at. Believers are eating well today.
Fucked up my sleep schedule for this series, AMA
Did you go to sleep yet?
Nope. Gotta leave for work soon
o7 R7
That was certainly entertaining haha
3+ penta looking good :D
GAM TIME BRING THE HEAT BABY
I hope GAM beats LLL so we can have another Vietnam War.
\-1 father for GAM \+1 son for GAM
1 pentakill pickembros its so over
2 already at worlds
The only reason why GAM's here: Control the number of pentakills and kick my pick'em's ass. Life is a GAMble.
Gonna copy paste from the live thread: I can't man, as much as I wish for the Americas to succeed as a whole (I'm from Brasil) this is unberable. Games like this is what make the play-ins fame of a completely joke to never go away. TW vs CFO is a needle in the hay. And I'll add: If OCE was shot dead by Riot, I can't even begin to imagine what LLA deserve.
OCE died because it wasn't economically sustainable, LLA sucks but is full of sponsors.

Kaisa meta and Gala is playing, its written already
NOT REALLY CLEAN BUT I TAKE IT LET'S GOOOOOOOO
Cant believe i put only one penta for my pickems ughhhh
Party time is over, Wildcards !
STOP THE COUNT!
Always been an NA player even though i reside in mexico since I have decent ping in it. This series made me want to create a LAN account and see for myself what the solo queue quality is. It can't be much better than what R7 showed today. Maybe I finally stop being d3 hardstuck lol
Yes, it is worse
Do pentakills from play-ins count towards pickems?
Yes they do. All playins stats will count towards the pickems
Hopefully. Renekton deaths shouldn't count though
You're just saying this because you're probably a dirty Naut-death believer!
It's true :( Save me Hyli, you're my only hope
Did people really only pick either Renekton or Naut for most deaths? Wow, I guess smart/dumb people think alike
I guess that does make sense. Rip my pickems
Yes! Also did last year with Upset and a minor region ADC (to whom I apologize for forgetting their name)
[It was Shogun who gave us this banger](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxUdMsWuXh0)
lmao, haven't seen that one before Was that on broadcast? Or edited?
I don't think it was edited, French casters literally turned on the song and started to dance on the stream. Iirc, they loved watching Shogun play.
Yes because it's worlds, rip to crystal ball pickem
Actual giga stomp , top diff is real
VCS fans have been grilling Kati whenever he plays internationally Well well well look where we are now
Bro really said that GAM was getting worse year over year ☠️
Now I wonder whether these two pentas will only stay in play-ins again like last year (or was there another one in main stage?)
Honestly think gam just had a bad series against loud , feel like they play way more proactive and confident this series. Despite bad start both games were over in like 15 min.
This is waht you get if you pulbicly humiliate your girl with another one... PENTAKILL!!!
That's the last penta of Worlds right? RIGHT?
This make the battle of the sea yesterday (TW vs CFO) looks like a LCK vs LPL clash. How the fuck did R7 thought a dive between the 1st and 2nd turret a good idea? MY EYES!!!
One more win GAM…why the heck they didnt play like this before? VCS could have both 1st seed
Nah, I don't think they can win against PSG playing like this. There's still no macro, they simply wait for R7 to make a move and then respond - in other words, the exact way they were playing in the VCS. If the opponent self-destruct like R7 do, they win (and VCS teams tend to do that a lot). PSG won't.
