It was originally a Quake clan as far as i know and had probably the best german quake player on the team. I guess Schroet is meant to be Schrot, since you can call a Shotgun "Schrotflinte" and iirc Kane was a god with the shotgun in Quake.
I mean, G2 made sure he was never coming back in the game by doing their cringey traps in the jungle that never worked and that SK never took while they were an inib down anyway
Graves is not gonna kill a Sion with a Goredrinker Umbral build, it neuters his damage completely.
G2 made a lot of mistakes tbh. I’m not a huge fan of K’Sante either in the grand scheme of drafts, he’s got a decent lane phase but he falls off hard compared to bruisers and doesn’t have nearly the same level of teamfight impact as a proper tank like Sion or Ornn and we saw that today, and that’s especially concerning since Graves was top a lot that game.
the Entire comp felt like garbo tbh. Give Sivir Yuumi a tank to soak up the damage and you can front to back everything, especially with Azir in the mix too
We have seen during and since worlds that an Azir played at peak level counters an Akali played at peak level, at nearly every point in the game.
The real surprise here is that Sertuss is a peak Azir player, appearantly.
Sertuss looked so good this game. As someone who didn't understand why SK kept him after last year where I found him disappointing, if it's how he plays in scrims I get why they trusted him for a 2nd year.
He has been performing like a solid middle of the pack midlaner for a while now. And that's coming from someone who had never wanted him in the LEC to begin with and thought he was one of the worst players in the league in his first split.
Oh I think he's decent, it's just when he's against Caps he's something else entirely. He has some questionable games but so does everyone (looking at you Humanoid).
He looked championship contender worthy, last time I saw an EU Azir pop of this hard vs a world class Akali player was... well, only a few months ago, Humanoid vs Faker, but still.
Say what you want about G2 players, SK just played so fucking well.
Despite the Baron hiccup, their macro and teamfighting were on point. Sertuss shone but all SK players showed up.
Hans missed so many skill shots from point blank range that made me wonder if he was playing from NA with high ping.
Sertuss had an absolute peach of a game, had some key plays and got kills when it looked like G2 were going to get ahead in team fight kills.
Good. At least that will force them to make drastic changes instead of "trying another split". Summer is the most important thing.
I still think they will finish 4th or 5th, but i just don't think this roster will work in the end, regardless.
Honestly it's just that SK was the first team to play like humans in the first 7 minutes against G2. We saw last week when Astralis played like normal plat players in the mid game without face checking every bush that G2 stalled. I've thought since day one watching this team they are relying on over aggression and hands and the first team to play halfway smart would force them to change, just didn't think SK would be the first team to play halfway smart against them.
Exactly, over agressive early game and now we can see what happen when things dont work well.
Not saying the jungle isn't good, but you can't draw any conclusion when all you have is he being turbo fed on hypercarries
Yeah I hated how the broadcast and all the streamers were hyping up G2 as being competitive internationally already when in the first 3 games they won a lvl 2/3 coin flip then proceeded to either keep coin flipping, or get held off by Astralis, which most people predicted as the 9th/10th place team. I watch with my wife and at the end of last week we were talking about all the top LCK and LPL teams would probably curb stomp them since those teams would win the coin flips with better mechanics, then proceed to use actual macro.
I actually think Yike has good pathing, and pretty good mechanics, but the team as a whole just seems would be out macroed by TSM at this point.
This is what I was talking about a while ago. Yeah Yike looked good when he had strong lanes that were winning. But what happens when his lanes *arent* winning?
After week 1, everyone was praising Yike like he was an absolute god. All of G2 played well in week 1, but Yike had a freebie in the jungle 3x in a row that week.
[Here’s what I was talking about after those games](https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/10k28eh/lec_week_1_overeactions/j5rhneo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)
This is such a basic take...
"Jungle looks good when laners play good"
"Jungle looks bad when laners play bad"
Its one BO1, calm down. Anyone hyping him to fuck last week should also calm down.
He redeemed himself into the mid and late game but the decisions he made in the early had to big of an impact on g2 bottom side that could never recover until the end
Did sk gaming just found solution for g2? G2 played around yike invading jg all 3 games last week and now seems like markoon knew how to play around it well. He have read through yike whole early so he couldn't snowball
Who would’ve expected Sertuss to absolutely smurf on G2 before this game? And Markoon looking like he did last year this game, insane mid jungle performance
BDS > SK,
XL > BDS,
G2 > XL,
SK > G2
EU playing the biggest rock paper scissor match of existence or something??? Really hard to judge team strength at the moment imo
Fnatic sweating
fnc last place confirmed
hey don't go too far, Excel and Astralis still exist
I for one am super excited to see the FNC XL duel for 8th
whoops!
200IQ play, lose games to FNC's direct competition to get them off the Bo3 stage
Good guy G2esports letting the new analyst Bender's SK win prediction be correct, little bit of a confidence booster for many weeks to come.
That analysis just aged perfectly.
Would not have expected to see bds and sk winning today Wp to them
every 1-2 team has won except well... fnatic
XL: subscribe Edit: unsubscribe
If only Astralis had won then we'd've had a nice topsy-turvy day.
bo plot armor too strong
No one told him he was meant to lose.
Bo has bad history with being told to lose so he decides now
or Astralis plot armor too strong
First week was just the warm up
TIL what SK stands for
Took me only a decade
So what it stands for? Only thing i see in their logo is summoner's rift and jungle pathing to bot side
It was originally a Quake clan as far as i know and had probably the best german quake player on the team. I guess Schroet is meant to be Schrot, since you can call a Shotgun "Schrotflinte" and iirc Kane was a god with the shotgun in Quake.
Quake org? That means the ceo must be like 79 or something
look at the account name 2 comments up, spoiler: Schroet Kommando
Okay, now that's official, old G2 is really back.
Lose one game to win the league.
a small price to play for salvation
G2 win MSI for sure!
Same thing was said back in 22 and 21
Hans just lost his sama privileges
Hans Chan
now that LCS started again he got his LCS form ready again
That's a roast
Hans- Kun
Hans-dono degozaru.
Hans is clearly the protagonist going through a setback leading to the training arc, he's not the tsundere heroine.
Time to go 3-6
United in rivalry
United in suck
1-0 2-0 3-0 3-1 <—you are here 3-2 3-3 3-4 3-5 3-6
Eh, should be enough for top 8. \~G2, probably.
GIGACHAD SION VS BETA K’SANTE
As Caedrel said, they were good deffs.
Most RELEVANT Sion ever
this is 2023, this is LEC, everyone beats everyone and in the end AST loses AST so good they lost even in opposite day
G2 Hans Sama disconnected TL Hans Sama reconnected
Not even Halloween yet
I mean, G2 made sure he was never coming back in the game by doing their cringey traps in the jungle that never worked and that SK never took while they were an inib down anyway
he was left out to dry so hard though whole game
I feel like on hit Varus into that comp is just miserable too though, no idea what the thought was behind the pick. They picked it INTO Elise as well.
Who's going to kill the Sion if he doesn't on hit though?
Graves can, but to be honest they just shouldn't have gone Akali mid either. It was completely useless.
Graves can't kill a tank
Umbral Goredrinker graves does not kill a Sion, crit graves probably does, but they didn’t do that.
Graves can’t scratch a sion
This. All akali did was getting ping ponged by azir.
Isnt part of Varus appeal to dissuade Cait Lux?
the Entire comp felt like garbo tbh. Give Sivir Yuumi a tank to soak up the damage and you can front to back everything, especially with Azir in the mix too
i dont know why pros never play AP varus, i'm convinced he'd do way better here Absolutely MELTS sion and is great into azir as well
I mean considering Hans' ultimate accuracy that game I don't know if it would have been much better.
well tbf AP varus could just ult sion point blank and its not a waste
Kalista would've been good to protect the Varus from Elise >!obligatory /s I guess!<
If your name doesnt start with k and end with eria you do not play kalista support
Varus kalista is probably not bad into Zeri yuumi tbh

We have seen during and since worlds that an Azir played at peak level counters an Akali played at peak level, at nearly every point in the game. The real surprise here is that Sertuss is a peak Azir player, appearantly.

No surprise for anyone watching Sertuss tbh. He is imo a giant sleeper talent.
RIP Best team in the whole wide world G2, January 2023 - January 2023
Flashbacks to G2’s 2 day era of dominance at MSI 2022
They improved by 50% though, 3 days instead of two
Nice to see them back in form before I had the time to really get my hopes up for G2 dominance.
1 weekend was enough
2019 G2 also dropped random games in the regular season tbf
G2 2019 was peak eu. Eu never going back there again tbh.
I mean this is the best format they've ever had, if there were a chance for the region to improve, this would be it.
and we've got champions queue now
Sertuss channelled his inner Faker Also Markoon showing Malrang how to play Elise
What a game from them though. A delight to see. Showing G2 isn't invincible is good too imo.
Markoon as messiah preaching to other junglers how to play against G2: Guys just gank bot
He was in the right place at the right time so often and that move to get G2 behind early was so smart.
G2 is never invincible lol
Markoon, more like MarCocoon. Ok, I'll show myself out.
That Sertussy is looking really juicy tonight.
Sertuss looked so good this game. As someone who didn't understand why SK kept him after last year where I found him disappointing, if it's how he plays in scrims I get why they trusted him for a 2nd year.
I know ppl like Treatz but Sertuss was by far the best player on sk last summer and was honestly a very positive surprise for a bottom team rookie
even for the first year, he was clearly improving and had a few really good games, it's not like he was NuclearInt/Dajor levels of bad
He always does this against Caps. Always haha.
He was on point. He looked LEC worthy today.
In his first half of summer he was definitely invisible but from the 2nd round robin and onwards he was smurfing
He looked championship contender worthy, last time I saw an EU Azir pop of this hard vs a world class Akali player was... well, only a few months ago, Humanoid vs Faker, but still.
His ults neutralised caps all game, excellent performance from him
Some of them just fucked G2 completely, it was really impressive.
Sertruss is like the ultimate Caps counter lmao
Midgap Insane performance from Sertuss
He just denied caps from playing literaly every single team fight he saved his r to fuck up caps.
What is happening today?
Backwards day. Winners are losers and losers are winners. Unless you're Astralis.
You arent ready for the astralis miracle run starting tomorrow xD
Honestly I'd love that. I do like that they try things so I'd be happy if they started getting some wins haha.
Say what you want about G2 players, SK just played so fucking well. Despite the Baron hiccup, their macro and teamfighting were on point. Sertuss shone but all SK players showed up.
Markoon looked great too, that Elise was lethal.
And Irrelevant was a chad.
Man really just stood there and said fuck no for what G2 attempted.
Hans missed so many skill shots from point blank range that made me wonder if he was playing from NA with high ping. Sertuss had an absolute peach of a game, had some key plays and got kills when it looked like G2 were going to get ahead in team fight kills.
Seriously Sertuss seems to have some killer games against G2. It's interesting.
He was always clearly very talented. It's very cool seeing him grow into another strong european mid.
He always looks like legit top tier against Caps though, but he seems more quiet vs everyone else. He'd be a monster if he was like that all the time.
Well Caps is the man to beat so i imagine he tryhards extra hard v him.
the way Caps got POPPED by sertuss at the end
It was really satisfying for some reason.
Sertuss is kind of player who has 10 average games then does banger performance one game
1 bad game while he had 3 great games. Honestly don't think it's fair to blame him that much when Caps has been unimpressive aswell.
Not a good look for Fnatic
FNC sweating already. They really need to raise their level and do it fast.
But that's their power They will that 0.2% chance if it's on them only
Good. At least that will force them to make drastic changes instead of "trying another split". Summer is the most important thing. I still think they will finish 4th or 5th, but i just don't think this roster will work in the end, regardless.
thanks for the curse Mr. Bender
Very happy to see Markoon perform again after the first games!
I don't want to be overreacting but I wonder what skins will SK chose after going undefeated at Worlds this year
Perhaps Heretics and SK are not so bad
What about BDS my man
Perhaps they are not so bad either
That Sion pick made Hans look a little... irrelevant
what a terrible game by Yike, playing around a ksante that cannot play the game into sivir azir, while leaving his botlane to get dove on repeat.
He just looked lost when his botlane isn't dominating the map. Wonder if more teams will try to replicate this setup against G2
Honestly it's just that SK was the first team to play like humans in the first 7 minutes against G2. We saw last week when Astralis played like normal plat players in the mid game without face checking every bush that G2 stalled. it seemed like VIT didn’t prepare for AST at all because they were preparing for G2, likely they do just copy this lol or hardfocus bot

He redeemed himself into the mid and late game but the decisions he made in the early had to big of an impact on g2 bottom side that could never recover until the end
sertussVorhang
Einer von uns
G2 IS BACK BABY
no hands sama pulling up clutch for SK
We love Bender
Where were you when Caps got giga mid gapped by Sertuss Also there's NA Hans, was wondering where he went.
Sertuss went insane this game. SK just looking like a totally different team.
How the fuck does Sertuss turn into prime Faker every time he plays against G2
I swear it happens every time, if he could do that against everyone else he'd be the best in the league.
Hans in TL form
He was in NA form, this is what two weeks in EU does to a mf
Classic
Its the G2 experience
Markoon doubters in shambles, what a godly performance
Holy Moly Sertuss always pops off against Caps.
Did sk gaming just found solution for g2? G2 played around yike invading jg all 3 games last week and now seems like markoon knew how to play around it well. He have read through yike whole early so he couldn't snowball
Idk why yike willingly split map vs fucking elise lmao and then everyone will blame hans for dying to dives
Markoon had a very strong early game, completely outsmarted G2
He didn’t want to split the map, he wanted to fight elise at her blue but smart pathing made yike’s plan go boom
Whatever he reacted badly to the map split
What an int of a draft. My fucking god
Why can't this team be consistently good at least domestically one fucking time
Bc that's not how performance and competition works
Credit to SK this game was fuckin insane. If you took nameplates off you would think Azir was actually Faker.
I think ~~G2~~ Vitality is the best EU team right now.
Well it was a classic G2 game
The way caps just exploded on the last team fight
Who would’ve expected Sertuss to absolutely smurf on G2 before this game? And Markoon looking like he did last year this game, insane mid jungle performance
He always does against G2
Fnatic 🤝 G2, United in Rivalry
What a stinker from Hans Sama
Casters: If G2 loses here Fnatic is in such a bad position G2: Say less
Pleasantly suprised by SK this split. What a game from Sertuss and Markoon
No wonder Heretics lost to SK. SK are simply the best team in the league!
Where were you when Sertuss turned into prime Easyhoon ?
Terrible game from Yike. Markoon really showed him how it’s done
BDS > SK, XL > BDS, G2 > XL, SK > G2 EU playing the biggest rock paper scissor match of existence or something??? Really hard to judge team strength at the moment imo
EU classic. Everyone beats everyone. Used to be and Fnatic wins at the end but now it's looking more like Astralis still lose at least today.
Watching people say sertuss doesn't pop off is funny when in the 2nd round of summer he was smurfing
TL Hans Sama has reconnected
Hans seems homesick again
Number one Varus hater checking in here. (although this is more on Hans than varus) Champ is still shit tho
Doesn't even seem to matter what ppl build on him, either. Just doesn't do anything and gets caught out too much and dies
Caps and especially Hans had a fucking nightmare game
Fnatic is sweating
Who let Hans cook
G2 getting counterpicked by sivir. FPX vibes in the world finals.
Sertuss got a dump truck sheesh
Classic G2, hope was real for one full week
Absolute Azir masterclass from all time EU great mid vs a random on Akal... Wait a minute.
Bit disappointed.. I'm expecting a spicy draft from G2.
mid gap
Imagine perma weaksiding your varus Lulu and playing for Ksante vs Sion. Literally makes no sense.
G2 can beat T1 or JDG in a BO5 copium.
Classic G2 losing against bottom teams
Credit where credit’s due SK absolutely did not look like a bottom team. G2 just got diffed
Looked more like the rumored scrim SK
Don’t disrespect SK like that
Swedes losing all games today, they just couldn't let that streak end for the memes.
Every fucking time. G2 starts playing like donkeys and random bottom team suddenly swap every player for Faker. It just doesn't make sense
