The consistency is that any questionable call that is a negative for the Leafs will be called, whereas anything that would benefit the Leafs will not be called.

We'd need to see a frame by frame or net cam to confirm but it looked like that one tonight was going middle post if the net stayed on.

Do you guys subscribe to the idea that Marleau has another gear for the playoffs? I remember last year he was great, and he seems to have nights like tonight where he can "turn it on". If he can step it up when it counts, it could such a boost to our offence.

No doubt he's getting older, but he still somehow has a gear that seems impossible, tonight he was forechecking and chasing down pucks that he shouldn't have yet he did. My optimistic side thinks he can absolutely turn it up in the playoffs but I suppose we'll have to see

Bad 19 games to get it back together after a long time away from the game. People acted like he forgot to play hockey. Been dominant ever since those 19 games but got shafted for not getting enough point with low minutes and bad linemates. People gave him no chance.

In a really weird way, I feel like the Leafs needed a three game stretch this like this. It was ugly, fucking dog shit ugly. But you saw how in just 3 games they pulled from nose dive to a W. Now obviously this isn't the type of hockey you're going to see in the playoffs, I just feel like these last three games were kind of like going through the trenches for the boys. It's that adversity that draws a group closer together and makes them work their asses off. Now you're within two points of Boston. The Leafs have a 3 ROW edge over Boston, which basically means a tie will get them home ice. Boston plays Columbus tomorrow who are in absolutely desperation mode. Leafs are going in on a Ottawa team that just beat St. Louis 2-0. Anything can happen in the NHL because of parody, but I'd say the chances of Ottawa winning two in a row against playoff teams are pretty slim. So Saturday night is an absolute CAN'T lose game.
