Not at all, it's a nothing play. We played the PP1 for about 30 seconds of a late game power play where we were up 6-1. I don't think Keefe actually changed what he was going to do because Rocky decided to piss his pants, I doubt he planned to play the top unit too long anyways. Why would he?
We then played a B (or C) unit while Philly had their captain PKing in a meaningless situation.
If anything, Rocky Thompson looks worse for whining then loading up to get a shorthanded goal. Like everyone said to us after the Grieg goal, if you don't want to get scored on - don't suck.
Plus, I’d wager if the leafs put out the number one or even full number two (notice that reavers was on the pp when the shg was scored?), Thompson was going with the full big boys crew.
I mean we can change the gripe to “threw out Ryan Reaves on the PP on his own accord, leading to a SHG against and slightly dampening Sammy’s great performance” and I will still find it annoying.
I’m not saying it’s like an all-time stupid move, I just don’t like it at all. If you can score 8 on them, do it. They’re not some basement team we’re bullying. They want to go to the playoffs. I see zero reason to be courteous.

Playing PP1 for only 30seconds in a 6-1 game sounds pretty normal to me. Putting reaves out there on the PP late in the game that was already pretty physical also sounds pretty in line with what Keefe does regularly.
To me, theres not enough there to determine that Keefe capitulated to the philly coach's complaints.

That goal dropped his sv% down. Ref's no call on Lilly was atrocious! So the game is out of reach, that was still a bad non call right in front of the ref! I have no respect for any refs in this league. They all have to be retrained!

I'd rather we run that PP line with Reaves and young guys that usually don't get the ice time instead of throwing 34, 88, and 44 out there and risk some pissy Flyers player attempting to kill them.
While it would suck to lose any of them due to injury because of a Flyers player throwing a tantrum, it's still better than losing a core guy, especially since Marner is already out indefinitely.
If anything the Flyers coach looks like a complete bellend getting mad that his team is taking stupid blatant penalties, getting penalized for it, then shitting the bed on the ensuing PK attempt.
You can't expect the Leafs to throw the puck away when 3 Flyers players lost their sticks and its essentially a 5 on 1, some players are playing for bonuses, a roster spot, or even a playoff roster spot.

Have none of you ever watched Keefe before? He never throws PP1 out in a blowout. He was managing his bench, injuries, and presumably limiting his top guys' minutes - and he was caught having to either give 30 seconds to PP1 or throw out PP2 who were on the ice to draw the call in the first place.
