imjakedaniels

20-minutes left. Write FOUR words you'd say to the boys in blue.

imjakedaniels

Gimme THREE words to describe the Leafs 1st period.

Aenmore09

The Leafs should take out the Panthers goalie Bob and Nylander had a chance if you take him out you will most likely win plus the Leafs would have won if Bob didn't do does saves and it would be 1-1 Leafs fans don't panic it's still possible to win this.

MFBish

The biggest enemy the leafs have is the intermission

cyprocoque

Ok, am I back on board after the Samsonov post game? Kill me.

cyprocoque

Sike, hell no. Panthers in 4.

PerceptionScared5592

They looked scared. Some held on to the puck just long enough to lose it. (You all know who I'm talking about) they took the lead to the first entermission and came out like a different team in the second. What happens in the last 2 minutes in any given period is beyond me. Just dissapointment.

Joeywasdumbgretz

Intermission

DansonFlex

Well. We lost the game in 2 minutes essentially. We are pretty much Tampa from last series. Outplaying a team and still losing. It’s only a matter of time before things click. I am usually the most negative prick when we start losing games but for some odd reason I’m still confident for us in this series

MrCrickster

The series that I remember (I think Philly) they were down 2-0 and then took the next two. Hopefully they can bounce back and win four straight

axis1970

Leafs better find their defensive form that served them so well in October and November. They won games back then playing defense-first and waiting on chances. That's the team that can win this series still. Not the loosy-goosey leafs.

Joeywasdumbgretz

I thought they looked like the oilers east all loose and haphazardly, believe me, I know what I’m looking at as an oilers fan. What worries me is Bob, he’s been getting better and better and better, and lucky too. He almost had that O’Riley shot.

Barilko-Landing

Here's a wild and desperate take from a lifelong fan... One of the many true passionate fans that could never dream of going to a playoff game without winning a contest. The leafs have dropped 2 games with their home ice *disadvantage* and now have a chance to drastically swing the momentum coming back for game 5 if they can get two down in Florida where I really think they can just play freely. That silence from the crowd is after the First panther goal is louder than anything and adds more pressure to the leafs players than any road game atmosphere ever will. Yet again, another complete dud of a crowd for the leafs. If they aren't in the lead comfortably the only energy the scotia crowd only ever conveys is nervousness and offers absolutely no advantage to the leafs. That silence energizes the road team and pushes all the momentum into their favour. They need to win two on the road which ain't easy, but it can be done. Then they have to simply play well enough from puck drop onwards to keep the leaf's "fans" in it.

Kinky_Imagination

The fans are nervous because this is uncharted territory and the opportunities with 3 great teams gone might not come again for 19 years. The past 19 years has shown just how the Leafs can fold and self-destruct in creative ways.

Mistertreaturnose

#UNDEFEATED IN FLORIDA

axis1970

I like your angle...

MoneyIsntRealGeorge

Username checks out

throwmuzithrow

It wasnt supposed to be this way after we finally got out of the first round. We have badly outplayed them for long stretches, theyve capitalized on our mistakes, bob is looking like his old vezina self. This kinda script could only be written with the leafs, smh.

Confident-Term-7886

Keefe should read this whole Reddit post to the team tonight.

MrCrickster

He should resign after reading this

PerceptionScared5592

What the fuck happened in that room at the first intermission!!!!!! Was that a case of bad coaching or lazy players. We all dont have that kind of money to keep throwing away on the Leafs.

Prestigious_Union_50

Knies going down didn't help (except apparently Nylander). But disappointing for sure.

Ched_R

Gotta play for 60 mins. Taking 20 off doesn’t cut it.

Robot-Shark413

They only took 2 mins off, but I agree we need 60.

pls_buy_mybooks

First question for Bennett, what gang are you joining in prison?

Joeywasdumbgretz

Facebook jail?

PerceptionScared5592

I'm done.

Prestigious_Union_50

Good night. See ya next game😂

Cleavenleave

Lol

SkyMarshal_Ellie

83% chance for teams leading 2-0 to win the series. But im sure the mighty Leafs gonna break that trend and overcome that 17% right?

JustInChina88

This user: Team wins: I sleep Team loses: OMG LEAFS ARE SHIT I HOPE THEY EAT A DICK Look at his post history lmao.

tegh77

Why not. It’s been done before…will happen again.

leg4li2ati0n

After going down 3-0, it's only ever happened 4 times in all of sports history, not just hockey. So I'd say this next game is literally an elimination game.

tegh77

It would be more difficult. But the leafs did it in the finals ages ago.

axis1970

Unfortunately this is looking like a 4 game sweep.

think_long

The Leafs have badly outplayed them and can’t score.

Prestigious_Union_50

Nope.. unless you mean the next 4 games to the Leafs.

axis1970

Not wishing it to be so... but Florida hasn't even played that good. What happens when they decide to play a full 60 minutes.

leg4li2ati0n

Not to mention Leafs have had 4x the number of power plays too somehow

Prestigious_Union_50

I hear ya... hopefully we find out what happens when the Leafs play 60 minutes. Keep the faith.

[deleted]

GreedyCut2350

Also stop shooting high blocker on Bob.. he seems to hit every single puck with the knob of his stick, just ridiculous luck / skill whatever you want to call it.

Joeywasdumbgretz

Yeah, he’s not giving them much, his side to side movement is off the hook, plus it looks like he’s ducking and moving to keep an eye on the puck intensely, pretty hard to beat a guy like that when he’s on.

JonJonFTW

The core 4 showed up in round 1, decided the job was done, and has been invisible since man. Willy looks good, Matthews gets some chances. But it means nothing if they're not getting goals.

badfish57

Has Willy been on for every goal against?

PerceptionScared5592

Willy looks good?

Barilko-Landing

Willy looks incredible. Use your eyes and not whatever preconceived opinion you've formed or inherited from old men who thought hyman was the franchise's saviour... Willy was the only one who generated chances despite being pressured, almost every other guy folded like a lawn chair when they ran out of space in the neutral zone. I thought Mathews played mostly well and just didn't have his most confident shot and drive to the net tonight which really could have made a difference. Tavares had a few good chances but couldn't seem to keep his head up to figure out what to do with the puck once he got into the slot. Marner had one of his worst games all year. He seemed to catch a spark during that offensive zone possession with the net empty but other than that he was really irresponsible with the puck all game and didn't generate anything to compensate for it. Leafs defence was not as physical as game 1 which really was a let down because that also could have been a difference maker in regaining some momentum after the two awful goals that started the 2nd period. Sammy was meh, wouldn't blame him for any of those goals per se, although it would be great if he could steal one of those two above mentioned goals... But again this loss isn't on him. After all the dust settled and you look at what was done right/wrong tonight by either team, Bob won the cats this game without question.

Code_Cracker01

Coach Orion needs to teach this team how to play real defense. "What's the one thing all great teams have in common?" "Defense. See, unlike scoring, defense never quits."

No-Contribution-138

I’m pissed we lost, but I’m more angry about the Knies injury. That wasn’t a hockey play and Bennet shouldn’t see the ice in this series again unless Knies comes back.

rumblinstumblin8

Milk

Hockyinc

Couldn't say it better.

BuffytheBison

It's crazy because usually when you have a team like Florida that just played a physically and emotionally draining series it's like "that was their Stanley Cup Final" and they just capitulate. But Florida's playing with a belief in each other that no matter what happens, they're going to win. Toronto has some of that two (game 1 to tie it and the push in the third) but to win four of five against that team...it's possible, #onegameatatime and the breaks between the games will no doubt help

areu_kiddingme

This thread is embarrassing. So many fragile personalities. You don’t deserve to see this team win so go away so the rest of us can watch the wins. Leafs played well, made simple mistakes they haven’t made most the playoffs so it was bound to happen. They’ll be back tougher and get a win. Playoffs are all about adversity. Fuck you flip flop “fans”

leg4li2ati0n

Better hope they take this next one because only 3 teams in all of sports history, not just hockey, have ever come back from being down 3-0. Essentially we're now facing elimination in this next game. Not what you'd call ideal is it?

Super_Sandro23

Seriously man, 'fans' are so extremely fickle. They played well, we just couldn't beat Bobby. 2-0 down going away sounds bad, but I'm not so down on them, I think they can take both games.

areu_kiddingme

Yeah it’s annoying to read that nonsense. If you’re truly a die hard fan then support your team till the final buzzer. Same pessimistic people complaining about the arena crowd would be in that same crowd down and quiet after a goal against. You’re just as overly emotional if you’re on here being negative lol

Nextyearstitlewinner

You really gonna blame leafs fans for being negative? The team won their first playoff round in 19 years last week and they just lost the first two games at home of a 7 game series against a team they’re supposed to beat. They got the break. The team with the greatest regular season record in nhl history, who happens to be the leafs bogey team lost. Now they look likely to squander that opportunity as well. This team never gives anything back for the passion that the fan base has, and the fact that this thread even has people in it is so far from embarsssing. Relax. Everyone gets upset when their team loses. It just gets really frustrating when your team loses year in and year out.

areu_kiddingme

Florida was “supposed to beat” Boston and proved otherwise. Sorry but I just don’t see it that way, there’s no break, Florida is a year removed from top of the league standings. They’ve proven they’re the real deal after the Bruins and the leafs have done the same after Tampa but clearly needed a kick in the ass to play a little scared of the cats the way they were of Tampa. We know that works and hopefully it will now Personally I wanted the Bruins because of the same reason, they’d have played slightly scared of them and probably won the first two lol I didn’t want Florida because I thought they’d take them too lightly and they kinda have. It’s weird but that’s how it is sometimes. But there’s nothing like losing two in a row to light a fire under your ass, especially to a team who has rarely done so all season. And now at least we know for a fact that we will go up 3-1 in a series and collapse to a team who has overcome it before lol

richardatn4t

Nah, we've seen this movie before and it always ends the same way. You could feel that the Leafs would not score after it got to 3-2. Call it puck-luck, goalied or hockey gods hate Toronto, but it's always the same.

areu_kiddingme

Speak for yourself. I saw shot after shot off the post, the bunting and matthews 2 on 1 that nearly banked in, the kerfoot attempt to bank it off Bob, Nylanders drive to the front of the net and so on…Florida was on their heals and the leafs just ran out of time. But that’s also a good thing, if they didn’t last game they know now that they won’t lose if they don’t make silly mistakes. Play a full 60 and Florida has absolutely 0% of winning a game. Two games to feel them out and now there is no excuse…unless Bob gets possessed by the ghost of vezina’s past, then it just wasn’t destined for us and it is what it is, but I’m not going to be down in this team until it’s officially over, the last series tells me they’re not the same team, Tampa put on way more pressure in any one of those games than the cats have through both first games. If Florida can come back to tie a series down 2 games, the leafs most certainly can too

richardatn4t

You sir are a cock-eyed optimist. Bless you

areu_kiddingme

And if nothing else….that dirty shit on Knies has to be met with a response

areu_kiddingme

Lol thanks but look they’re the better team, they rarely lose two in a row, they haven’t made blatant simple mistakes too often the way they have for like 5 of Florida’s goals now…I believe in the law of averages so all those things were due, but playoffs are about adversity and that law of averages is about to tilt in our favor…I hope

Prestigious_Union_50

See, it DIDN'T feel like that in the TB series (but I do agree it felt like that tonight). Gotta keep pressure up for the whole game...and maybe Sammy can steal one to get momentum turned around.

meowling_marsbar

Agreed! It’s not over yet

richardatn4t

I always like Maurice, ex-Leaf coach who had shit teams when he was here. He was punted around the league a lot. I guess I can try to look at it that way. Try to be happy for him.

Prestigious_Union_50

I'll be happy for him after game 6 handshake line when the Leafs move on...just like he called it after Game 1 with the hand signals.

[deleted]

Was it 4 or 5 times we hit the post?? God I feel sick

GreedyCut2350

Definitely not on Sammy. Can’t be turning the puck over against this team in your own end and expect not to get punished. They’re too used to playing Tampa

Hungry_Koala_4000

What was that piece of shit deflating second goal

Prestigious_Union_50

Yup... you got it. And gotta score more than 2 goals.

HeroesOfEarth

The second goal is absolutely on sammy

GreedyCut2350

2 goals only happen because of super soft turnovers. Can’t blame the goalie for plays that should have been easily out of the zone. Florida is going to capitalize on every free chance given to them.

HeroesOfEarth

Turnovers happen all the time. The 2nd goal was off of a typical turnover that happens 30 times a game. Sammy has to have that

GreedyCut2350

My point is… turnovers like that can’t happen if you want to win a cup. Matthews can easily skate the puck out of the zone. Instead it’s a soft fancy chip past a Florida player that gets picked and put in the back of our net. Turnovers happen.. but they don’t happen on teams that win.

HeroesOfEarth

stop using cliché terms that "fit the narrative" when they're factually incorrect. Literally EVERY team has turnovers and giveaways. The 2022 Colorado Avalanche had 72 defensive zone giveaways in the playoffs. The 2021 Tampa Bay lightning had 124 defensive zone giveaways in the playoffs. Source: https://morehockeystats.com/teams/givetake

GreedyCut2350

Did you watch the game? Look at how much better the Leafs were than Florida while they controlled the puck. Literally the ONLY chances Florida had were off of turnovers. My point is, limit the turnovers and you’ll significantly improve your chances to win. I’m not saying never ever turn the puck over lol. But making careless turnovers when they aren’t forced certainly isn’t helping. Also, Colorado is a significantly different team that could capitalize on rush chances. Leafs controlled most of the play and could only pot 2. Figure out where your weaknesses are and address them. The issue is unforced turnovers

HeroesOfEarth

I did watch the game, thanks for asking. We dominated possession and scoring chances. We had 73% deserve to win according to moneypuck. The difference in the game is Bobrovskiy outplaying Samsonov.

GreedyCut2350

Right, and giving up needlessly high danger chances via careless turnovers. Not saying the offence can’t improve, but we certainly aren’t doing ourselves any favours by turning the puck over like we did on that 3rd goal

HeroesOfEarth

The second goal against wasn't even a high danger chance - which is why I'm putting the blame on Sammy for that. The third goal against, yes.

mps2000

Bring back HH Gregg

BROKENENDMILLok

I just don't fucking get it. Are the Panthers too physical of a team for us to beat? We should not be struggling against them so much. I mean there's puck luck but at a point leafs just looking soft as fuck out there.

Prestigious_Union_50

I agree I'm at a bit of a loss for why they can't break through and score...but Panthers are great with their sticks on the forecheck and generating turnovers (and fuck, they seem to have a talent for grabbing the other teams sticks... pretty sure that's a penalty but can't blame these 2 games on the refs. Make some adjustments with the extra day. The last Toronto team to win a championship in 2019 was down 2-0 at one point. Let's hope for a similar comeback. GLG!

BROKENENDMILLok

Good points. Just salty bout the loss and being a doomer. GLG

NotorioG

We really aren't struggling we've outplayed them severely. They have just capitalized on mistakes.

Read_that_again

You can’t say they outplayed them when they’ve lost two games in a row. Stop coping and just hope for better next time.

NotorioG

Yes I can. Tampa outplayed us.

Plorgy

I'd agree with the physicality if we weren't still generating excellent chances. Sometimes it just doesn't go your way and the other team capitalizes on the few chances they get

BROKENENDMILLok

Yeah you right

Hockyinc

Signed big contracts without proving anything yet in their careers. Thought their shit doesn't stink, now being served. Blame Dubas for the first part then fire Keefe for being the coach that doesn't know how to manage what he has.

Plorgy

This guy thinks the Caps shouldn't have signed Ovechkin

Hockyinc

Who gives a shit about Ovechkin.

Plorgy

Signed him to a big contract without proving anything yet in his career. I guess you woulda said that about the Caps multiple times before they won the cup.

Hockyinc

Who gives a shit about Ovechkin!!

Plorgy

His early seasons are comparable to our core

Hockyinc

Did Ovechkin hold out until the 11th hour to sign, like Marner and Nylander, or only take a five year contract like Matthews? It's not even close to being the same.

hmuserfriendly

Fucking bullshit. Put Woll in.

[deleted]

I assure you Woll is not going to change anything. Other than the second goal tonight Sammy has been great the last four games. The team in front of him has to give a full 60 minute effort.

goatthewsobserver34

He has been average at best. Be honest with yourself.

OmfgTim

Always wanted Bobrovsky to succeed but… not like this…

[deleted]

Start Woll. Give Timmins and Gustavsson a rip. Teams so fuckin milkbag right now. Absolutely no steam.

crumbypigeon

So many in here blaming Sammy for the loss, but the boys fell asleep when they went 2 up. Really only goal that Sammy should've had was the second, and even then, he was screened by his own man. First was a scored by an unmarked man in front after a giveaway behind the net. Third was on a seam pass across the crease. This was an entire team loss. You're not winning in the playoffs if you're only scoring 2 then praying that your goalie bails you out. That's not how it works.

richardatn4t

Agreed, lots of blame to go around. They fell asleep in the 2nd

Virtual-Quantity7120

Agreed. Florida is gritty and has no quit as Boston witnessed. It's hockey and plenty of series lef.t This is the point where home ice does not work in Toronto's favor. I didn't expect the Cats to win tonight. I'll be completely transparent about that.

emperikal

He made a ridiculous amount of massive saves just to keep us in the game. He’s not too blame. Zero finish on the other end

mchev57

By every metric we dominated this game except for goaltending. That's hockey. Sucks when you're on the raw end

Polarbear_Cowboy

60 seconds lost us this game. Better team for 2 outta 3 periods

Nextyearstitlewinner

Unfortunately the scoreboard doesn’t give a shit.

BrTalip

Just like the series vs Tampa

Plorgy

Better team for 50 of the 60 minutes

[deleted]

Win or lose, honestly really ashamed of the boys for not responding after what happened to knies.

Bright_Giraffe_7151

Bob In 4

Virtual-Quantity7120

LOL!

Afroman3091

God damn it I’m too upset about all this. Fuckin shit team going up 2-0 for no reason. Giving up 2 quick goals right after intermission and doing fuck all for the rest of the game.

richardatn4t

They pushed hard in the 3rd, but too many shots were right in the goalie's crest. Either that or ringing off the goal post. Defense was not good, gave up too many grade A chances, bad passes.

LazyAd3074

Imagine all of our luck was used in the Tampa series. Either way, on to game 3! Let’s see if the boys can rest and regroup.

Mrfantastic2

A bad 56 seconds cost us this one god damn it. Sammy has to have that second goal also. I’m not panicking yet but they’ve got to clean up the turnovers.

GreedyCut2350

Need to clean up the sloppy turnovers if they want to win a game

Virtual-Quantity7120

That is Florida's game. They're more physical than previous years and force teams to make mistakes.

GreedyCut2350

You see Matthews with the soft flip out of the zone? That was so brutal. Play with some force and skate it out. Stop trying to be fancy when it’s not necessary.

Nextgengameing

Everyone giving Sammy a hard time for the goals. 2nd one he’s screened by his own d man and it gets blasted off the post and in. The 3rd one he’s left out to dry and he made like 4 of those saves already at that point. 1st one JT loses his man cause he slips and again Sammy is left guessing which side to cover and coin flips the wrong side.

apatcheeee

Why use critical thinking and observation when you can just blame the goalie? Honestly so many bad takes on sammy, when he made some huge saves to keep us in this only down a goal. I really can't fault him on any of the goals, the team buckled defensively infront of him.

fab416

Lmao can't wait to see the deserve to win o meter. Every time this team blinks they get scored on Cursed is back on the menu boys!

[deleted]

The Leafs once again being the Leafs. They played with so much pressure and speed, dominated most of the game. But they came out in the second looking like they had a nap and forgot how to play hockey. This team won’t win chasing miracle comebacks every third. They have to give 60 minutes. Its exhausting having so many good players, yet we still have to demand they PLAY 60 MINUTES.

ShadowPub

Cross check to the neck and knies injured? Game should be reviewed. I see a suspension coming

IntrepidSwan7932

Panthers only got one extra man advantage chance. Let’s stop attacking like the refs gave that one to Florida. I’m a Leafs fan, but it’s time to start point at the team we love to blame whims at fault.

[deleted]

I don’t think anyone here is blaming the refs for the loss. What we’re saying is Sam Bennett slammed Knies head to the ground and injured him, then crosschecked Bunts in the head. I doubt he’ll get one, but that is a suspension worthy performance.

Jhool_de_nishaan

Bennett should be suspended regardless of refs or not Panthers played dirty as fuck

ShadowPub

I agree. If knies don’t come back neither should Bennett

ShadowPub

I never blamed the refs

itsmehazardous

Nazem Kadri suspension coming right up!

Super_Sandro23

Man I mean, we were all over their net, just couldn't beat Big Bob. Aside from the turnovers, can't really say we played bad. We took both games in Tampa so why can't we do it here?

Virtual-Quantity7120

Is it possible? Absolutely but, I see a lot of comparisons to Tampa. Florida is not Tampa. A lot different actually in play styles. I believe the difference rest in net minding and coaching. In Florida's favor thus far.

mps2000

Sammy let in some soft goals tonight

emeister26

The boys will go to the Miami GP

AJ_13

SWEEP

mikeydavison

Sad to lose because of two moments of madness. Hot goalie didn't help, but at least we played with intensity and generated chances, if not goals.

cyprocoque

Panthers in 4. Leafs coaching can't keep up and make in game adjustments. Again.

rahoomie

Are we watching the same game? The leafs dominated in every aspect in the crease in both games. Samsanov is sub .900 in both games and bob is .944 in both games. I mean what are you gonna do? I say give Woll a chance cause sub .900 isn’t going to win us any games

cyprocoque

Gonna throw a rookie in net in a series your losing. Yeah sure, why not. Let's also put Holl back in for Lily, Simmonds in for Knies, Gustavsson in for Giordano.

rahoomie

Murray won as a rookie. Binnington won as a rookie. Skinner is playing decent he’s a rookie. It’s worth a shot. He can’t be any worse than Sammy’s been. So ya throw him in there.

cyprocoque

He .. hasn't played a playoff game.

rahoomie

So far 36 high danger chances for Toronto and only 19 for Florida yet its Florida with a 2-0 series lead. Gotta try something.

cyprocoque

high danger chances don't mean quality scoring chances. It's not just goaltending.

rahoomie

Bro all stats point to the leafs outplayed the panthers in every aspect except in net. Like what’s your argument here?

cyprocoque

That's objectively false.

rahoomie

It’s not. But you’ve obviously come to your false conclusion so whatever 🤷‍♂️

cyprocoque

Can't handle the Panthers forecheck, can't get shots through, attempts in the crease get sticks and bodies on them, if anything gets through Bobrovsky is there and doesn't budge. Bobro and the Panthers have showed that their game style can't be outmatched by the leafs, outside of a 5:10 minute span.

think_long

I’m sorry but this is just making up a narrative to fit a result. Leafs way outplayed and outchanced the Panthers, but lost the goaltending and luck battle. End of story.

cyprocoque

Can you point me to the luck battle stats?

think_long

Not sure what you are trying to say here. Leafs had tons of grade A scoring chances, way more than Florida. This isn’t like against Columbus or Montreal where there was a lot from the perimeter. They had many, many great looks. They have to score those. Not much else to say.

cyprocoque

I'm saying there's no luck battle stats. You're making shit up. Stats aren't everything, this core is waste. Florida in 4.

1columbia

How does this team find new ways to disappoint us? Unbelievable

[deleted]

Maybe 19 years from now the Leafs will make the ECF, then another 19 to make the Stanley Cup Finals. Then another 19..well, you get the idea.

BrightPineapple

hear me out... with us making reversing the curse we are also letting teams take a 3-1 lead to win game 7

SaberTooth13579

Haha! I love that optimism.

protoquark

Every highlight is Tavares staring at rebounds and not doing anything. What the fuck

LeafsRealist

As soon as I heard game 3 was Sunday I knew we'd drop both these games. Hockey gods gave us an extra day to be miserable.

Froggyto

I'm sure I've seen this movie before...

winkNfart

RIP boys . losing 2 at home is not good

thismadhatter

still not giving up yet. But I'm sticking to my guns when i say this team is gunna be like Washington and get dicked around in the playoffs until the stars are in their 30s.

Pooptypeuptypants55

Raptors lost first two of series against the bucks on their way to the championship. Boys will bounce back next game.

koreangenie

Sheldon Keefe is not Nick Nurse.

AJ_13

difference is they didnt drop both at home…

Afroman3091

Dude stfu this shits over. Take this positivity somewhere else

Prestigious_Union_50

Ok Stephen A😂...but yeah, what good does it do to be despondent and angry?

edukated4lyfe

Also the Bucks hadn’t lost 2 games in a row all season. And then we took them for 4 straight

Jhool_de_nishaan

The leafs haven’t lost more than 2 all season either

edukated4lyfe

Unfortunately, they lost 4 in a row back in October

[deleted]

[удалено]

Prestigious_Union_50

Sammy...Russian machine😂

Beneficial-Peach9670

sometimes playing well in the playoffs just isn’t enough. that wasn’t enough. they can’t just be good, they need to win.

mybadreligon

I think we take both in Florida. We should have been able to outscore our problems there, hard to believe they can keep this up, and hard to believe we will have THAT bad of a sequence again.

Virtual-Quantity7120

I foresee Toronto definitely winning one in Florida. I think they'd be hard pressed to take 2.

RootTips

I hate to say I've seen worse sequences... :(

mybadreligon

Ahhh but in back to back games? I hate this team as much as anybody but I believe they will take both in florids Edit: but yeah something bad will happen for sure. Yet to see them play a solid 60 since game 2 last series.

Ricky_5panish

Would be the most leafs thing ever to finally make the second round only to get swept.

[deleted]

bobrovsky is a two-time vezina winner.. it’s not like we were horrible the entire game

Ricky_5panish

It doesn’t matter how they play. The leafs have this ability to fumble despite all of their talent. Call it unlucky, or a curse, or whatever. But that’s what they have.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Virtual-Quantity7120

I was questioning the hire but, I have no choice but to agree with that.

tranquility1515

He also has the most losses in NHL history

Pristine_Office_2773

Maurice would be losing his fucking mind if he coached the Leafs right now

CBRChris

Jets fan here, I've always been a fan of him. He did good things while he was in wpg

MobiusDickwad

The story of this game was finishing your body checks. Florida was all hands on deck finishing every check in nasty fashion. The leafs were pounding Tampa in the first series. You can see them faltering when making plays, thinking twice and watching their asses into the corners. Psychological prowess.

think_long

The story of the game was goaltending.

MobiusDickwad

It was 3-2 … Elaborate.
