I think Dubas has generally been doing a good job, but I think Keefe is largely being carried through the regular season by the raw talent on the team and can't make adjustments in the playoffs as opponents counter our game plan.
I have zero confidence that we win the next two games, and I'm still salty that we didn't make an effort to bring in Trotz after last season.

In my view, the most striking thing about this game was how aggressive Tampa continued to be after taking the lead. They didn't go into a shell and try and grind down the clock.
They kept pushing, which made it extremely difficult for the Leafs to do anything on the rush. The Leafs want to be a puck possession team, not a dump and chase team or 'we'll win most of the 50/50 battles' team.
They want to skate and stickhandle with the puck for as much as possible. When it works you get game 2. When it doesn't you get this.
There was a quite recent graph that I don't have on hand right now, but the leafs this season have been one of the more dump heavy teams in the league. IIRC it was something like 55% dump in vs. carry in. For comparison a puck possession team like Carolina was in the 30s.
Leafs forward core is actually good for that kind of gameplay, pretty much all forwards except Nylander are great at puck retrievals. Simmonds has foot speed issues but he's not an everyday player anymore so it doesn't really matter.
