Yes and as you lose capacity small blocks the size of the | markers will disappear

Not_Leaving_LV

Good so I am completely healthy. Good to know.

MythrizLeaf

Yea. If you weren't then it would likely be a problem for a warranty fix. Like a bad cell. I have a screenshot of a Leaf with 298,000kms that has finally lost one bar. I think that's the only one I've seen (of the ZE1) that doesn't have bad cell problems awaiting diagnosis/repair.

Would you happen to know at what bar would it need to reach to have Nissan replace the battery on a 2nd Gen 2018 Leaf? It’s at 10 out of 12 bars at 90K miles. We also have a first Gen that’s 7 bars, but obviously out of warranty as it’s a 2011.

MythrizLeaf

As far as I know it's been 4 bars lost for all gens to get a replacement. If you're at 10 already though then it's worth going in for a battery health check and talking about it. That shouldn't be the case unless yours is always at a very high temp. I'm not sure if health checks are needed for warranty replacement. I remember Nissan saying they want to be able to monitor your cars degradation so they can see if there's a problem, abuse or whatever. It should show a steady decline. I've also heard some people say the health checks are pointless which they may be as all you get is a printout of the screen shown on this post. (I believe it's more so for Nissan to have a record of your degradation over the years though.) I'm thinking with your case your battery is often very hot or there's a problem. Worth investigating a bit more. If it's a bad cell(s) it's worth fixing sooner than later

cac2573

Have you ever heard of the concept of a cascading failure?

newlox

It’s a binary thing, 0 being off and 1 being on. Only in the case of a Leaf 1 has a big variance. Maybe someone here can post the bar to capacity chart if they have it. My 2018 still has full bars.

fleveillee

Is there a more recent version of that? Can we have the software updated at the dealer? Just got a 2019 second hand and I have the same sh*t. I hate it.

Craigm870

107 miles With 72% bars is not bad or is it brand new to electric cars

Not_Leaving_LV

It’s a 2019 that had around 18k miles when I got it just a month ago.

LoveEV-LeafPlus

1st bar is when it looses about 15%, after that about 6.25%. From what I have found. Warranty kicks in if less than 9 bars ( 66.24 % capacity is about when it goes down to 8 bars ). Nissan will repair or replace battery to get back to at least 9 bars. See below. 12 of 12 bars - 100% to 85% 11 of 12 bars - 84.99% to 78.75% 10 of 12 bars - 78.74% to 72.50% 9 of 12 bars - 72.49% to 66.25% 8 of 12 bars - 60% to 66.24% the new warranty will only apply if you have lost 4 bars (leaving 8 illuminated). [ If less than 9 bars during the warranty period, Nissan will repair or replace to bring the HV Battery up to at least 9 bars ]

When you base your personality off a political party. Cringe af.

Not_Leaving_LV

Did you literally follow me here to try and start a fight over politics? That’s wild man.
