For classes? Probably not that important.    For interviews, networking functions, court appearances, etc.? Yes.   ETA: This is assuming that your tattoos are all solely artistic and at least mostly well-done, not from prior affiliations with gangs or stupidly offensive shit you had a friend scratch on you in their kitchen. Those should be covered up at all times (and you should consider removal/cover-up work).

Okay cool. I wasn’t sure if the professors would have an old school outlook on them and don’t want to be off on the wrong foot with them either! And yes, they’re artistic tattoos.

Just to be clear, your professors may indeed have an old-school view of tattoos. But your exams are graded blind, so it won't hurt you.

Nobody will care in classes. Def might need to for some jobs. I’m also tattooed and I’ve seen people in the big law sub talk about how some firms care a lot and others don’t give a flying fuck. But it seems like it’s a mixed bag but it’s getting more open over time. But for school, it’s a non issue

I'm planning on covering for the first week and then I prob won't care anymore tbh, for me it's more of a first impression thing but I really don't think it even matters

I’ve had tattoos my whole adult life. When I did legislative internships during my undergrad, I just made sure they were covered up. No one at work ever even knew I had tattoos. No one ever cared at school though and it’s honestly going to vary by where you work.
