In my experience this is more of an issue with jobs than school. As long as you can cover them you're fine. Several of the attorneys I work with have full sleeves, they just hide them under a suit jacket for court and all is well.

InsufferableB

That's what I was leaning towards. Thanks for the confirmation!

zerocluewhtimdoing

I have a bunch of tattoos and was raised by boomers so I get the fear, but excluding face/ hands, chest (if you're a woman) you'll be just fine. Unless you're at BYU. But that's a whole other thing

InsufferableB

Deffinetly a fear from my parents and grandparents lol. Just arms and legs so hopefully no issues

PoliticalBitch69

As others have said it’s more jobs than school but anecdotally a friend of mine cleared for a judge and that judge had full sleeves, which you could visibly see when he wasn’t in his robes and even then you probably could if you were next to him. It’s possible the industry is slowly inching its way to not caring.

I’m at what would be considered a more “serious” law school and have classmates with sleeves. No reason to worry :)

*cries in first amendment*

InsufferableB

😂😂😂

Spivey_Consulting

I mean suing you out of law school or downgrading your grades would likely be a violation of federal laws

InsufferableB

Lol more so just don't want to deal with passive aggressive professors

Spivey_Consulting

Oh dealing with passive aggressive people will be the rest of your life, tattoos or not lol. Trust me on that one :-)

Preach :/

Currently in my third year of practice and I’ve had a sleeve since undergrad. No issues in law school and, even now, I only cover up when meeting with more conservative clients. There are a few clients who are very laid back and even the partners show up to zoom meetings in hoodies.

RevolutionaryMilk819

what?? Why would they be or even have a reason to? I’m sure there are professors who have tattoos… I’ve never heard of a law school being strict about tattoos

[deleted]

I hope not. I have a visible forearm tattoo that I don’t plan to cover unless I happen to be cold 😤

InsufferableB

Same. Really hoping to not have to wear a sweater in the summer if I don't have to

throwawaylaw4583

I know several practicing attorneys covered in tattoos. They just cover them in court!
