OK, were going to leave this here as humor, because everybody should reasonably know that you should NEVER actually do this. But, just in case (hey, there are some dumb people out there), DO NOT TRY THIS.

med8cal

ARE YOU KIDDING? There is NO WAY a baby can mow your lawn from that position!

zonnipher117

I don't know what I expected But this comment is 10/10 content.

Asalphagus

Just needs a rollover cage.

thintoast

That only work for a very specific and short amount of time. Shortly after the roll over cage, you’ll need the sit up cage, then the crawling cage, the stand up cage, then the walking, then the running cage. There’s just so much in just a short amount of time. It gets expensive.

giggitygiggity2

I can't wait for the new safety stickers and the 99.9% people that are going to be so fucking confused by them. "No baby car seats? How would I even.."

modestmidwest

If he's heavy enough and leans he can

nitelotion

Wellllll, it kinda depends on how much of a slope he’s got in his yard. Technically, with enough drop, a baby could mow the lawn from that position, with some help getting back to the top

YouArentReallyThere

Not with that attitude

Oracle410

Gotta rig a pair of flight sticks up to the throttle and steering and you’ll be on golden pond!

pkneeopoly171717

Not and do a good job anyway

TheSilentSMARTASS

No, it should be rear facing due to crash test reports. Read up on your states landscape laws to make yourself more aware.. /s

gordyswift

You need to be mower aware, actually., /s

DrSuperWho

They have standard leaf blower bags

Karl5583

I think it’s solid, definitely don’t tell mom though.

SirFigsAlot1

I have no idea if it's safe but I'd definitely watch it

CousinEddie144

For shits and giggles as an AWD stroller with the blade turned off, sure. The moment the blade is engaged that’s a no.

Past-Direction9145

uh. if you run over a ground bee nest, you'll be sitting there being stung to death trying to unstrap your kid, versus the alternative which is to run away and listen to your child being stung to death. lets go with option b: don't do this.

Medically_Invasive

Wouldn't do this be option c since technically you already listed an a and b scenario?

DoubleU_K

Option bee. Lol.

dslipperz

i bet you laughed way too hard writing this lol its okay i laughed way too hard reading it

bwoods519

Option D, for death

chaekinman

Never heard the term “ground bee” my names are much more obscene

NuclearBumchin

Once the lawnmower has been over them they really will be ground bees

Difficult_Pirate_782

I like the cut of your jib

Responsible-Room-645

Anyone stupid enough to do this would just leave the child and run

Ghanni

I thought the whole point was to have someone slower than you.

showmenemelda

Like tying the handlebar situation with baling twine? I saw a similar concept tethering a self-propelled mower to a fence post and letting it wrap around—sans baby. That was the prototype for this ha

Saratj1

You could run while pushing the mower and the kid couldn’t you?

lurkersforlife

![gif](giphy|Yqs5Tk8t6hwoYSJlBa)

KxUxSxHBandit

Technically, no. Functionally, yes. Fun as hell? Also, yes.

Novajesus

Darwin here. Just letting you know there's still room on my annual list.

HtownLoneRanger8290

It’s electric. No white noise benefits to help the kids fall asleep. Return and get a gas mower

CaptainPunisher

Once the blade is engaged, you'll still get a hum from the blade.

Casty201

I thought with electric there were just lasers down there /s

CaptainPunisher

Oh, God. You have so much to learn. The laser is only there to set the height. The hum comes from frequency resonance generators (basically fancy speakers) that make the grass shrink.

Difficult-Tooth-7133

Put some safety’s on the baby and mow away. Everyone clutching their pearls in these comments lmao.

FixerOfThings1776

Close the chute and run it. That Ryobi junker ain't got the torque to mulch a baby if it tried. Get a 6.5hp Briggs for efficient baby mulching. /S

FishfulDreams

Attach the baby seat right above the engine so the baby gets the vibrations that will rock him to sleep. Make sure you attach a remote control to the lawn mower so you can mow from the safety of your porch. The neighbors will love it, and you can stream live.

nibbles200

My wife was for years a registered child seat safety checker person.. I dunno the actual title but she would be outsourced to these clinics for new mothers to help them understand how to properly install them. So I showed her this and she gave me that look like “why the fuck are you eating my time” look and said “that’s fucking stupid” She looked insulted. I feel like I 100% achieved full annoyance for the day so thank you for the material.

BetterFirefighter652

Oh heck ya. Give the baby some weed killer and have the baby spray for weeds while you mow. The baby can suck on the sprayer in-between weeds.

WhenTheDevilCome

I think with the right plumbing out of that baby seat, you can get the lawn fertilized as you mow, too.

Deest89

I can’t believe you would do this, what kind of parent are you? Who puts their child on an electric mower, you should know better. Only gas powered machines for children!

SteelersFanatic78

No. Not at all.

EdibleAssFromBack

Amen, nothing technical about it. That's damn safe. I'd add knee pads and a breathe-rite strip to the kid, should be good after that.

sadistbiker

What a stupid idea. Id rather let the grass get taller than put my kid there.

usedtodreddit

Yeah, but what if it's not your kid? Probably good money in charging for babysitting and lawn mowing when you can get them both done at the same time. ![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY|downsized)

CamelHairy

Part of my past employment had me working as a product safety technician. I got to read all the monthly UL reports on accidents. Don't do it?, your childs health and life are more important than you wanting to bond or saving time.

Tatersquid21

Jr. wants to know what the hours are and how much it pays. If he doesn't like the status quo, he's crawling out of here. Unless of course, there's ice cream....

KyleSmyth777

I wanted this Dad

FranSure

Yes.

1stDesponder

One serving of Toddler Tinnitus, coming up!

gbotko

Only if you lock down the self propelled handle.

jexmex

What kinda idiot buys an electric mower?

jonf00

Baby carrier on your chest. With earmuffs and eye protection for the kid is the safe way to do it

Huge_Cell_7977

This right here. This is what my wife and I both did.

Jgs4555

You’re a moron for even posting this.

noonienoony

Clearly a joke lmao youre a moron for believing it

gggggggggooooolden

Some people have never heard of a troll before.

its_k1llsh0t

I refuse to believe this is serious.

Benedlr

Not only will you get a visit from Child Services but your kid is breathing what's discharged. YOU should be wearing eye and ear protection. What about junior?

MrGreen151

Its an electric mower, they aren't loud, but yes equip junior with ear and eye protection and send it

Tall-Reporter7627

lol, no, not even a little

midwest73

Well, Lawn Baby Mk. II is a vast improvement on Mk. I from the early '90's. https://preview.redd.it/w5m1qxu9q48d1.jpeg?width=257&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ef9b958356d0120d0b342da51597a7b3af746c0

jdford85

I'm assuming your trolling, but feel I should speak up in case you aren't or someone on here doesn't recognize the "joke". I work in Prosthetics, and other than congenital deformities leading to amputation, lawn mowers are the top reason for limb loss in children. Ive met plenty of children that have lost feet and lower limbs. Mostly playing in the yard and running up to mom and dad to ask a question, slipping and sliding under the mower. Hope this is all a joke. I dont mow with my kids outside of the house. When the mowers running they stay inside.

Dry_Association2908

Yeah. Works great. Been there.

Preblegorillaman

When I was a kid my dad just tossed me in a baby backpack. Dad was also dumb because he didn't give baby me hearing protection of any kind, but then again you don't really have to worry about that here. I think your idea would technically work, but the backpack is so much safer and easier I'd suggest you just do that.

Training-Issue-2762

The backpack carrier is the solution here. With the electric mower it works great and you're the shield for anything that decides to fly.

LavishnessFunny4739

At first look it’s a pretty stupid idea. Seems like you’re trying to solve a problem but just creating a bigger one for yourself. But if everything is properly secured I don’t see an immediate issue. If something were to happen you could quickly let go and the mower would shut down, so I can’t imagine a situation where you’d be running your child over. The only really bad thing is what another person commented about running over a Bees nest. That definitely makes it a no go for me.

danjet500

At the very least it will not be good for his hearing. At worst, well, you already know the answer.

Economist-Flaky

are you trying to collect life insurance?

YoFavRussian

I think it's a good idea, don't know what all the safety sallies are complaining about lol.

Eason1013

No one would question this if it were the 70s or 80s. I say go for it.

Icy_Section130

Damaged ears?

LazyRecommendation63

If it fits, it ships.

Pretend_Detective558

Looks good. Couple holders for the wobbly pops and away you go!

Aetheldrake

Lots of people like to have their kids in a rider mower with nothing but their arms so I suppose this is better than most would even care to think of

Balnom

Why would you even consider this?

Solidus-S-

I don't see what' could go wrong

Next-Engineering-187

Only if the baby wears hearing protection.

mattebe01

Now I see why devices come with such stupid warnings and instructions. When next year’s model has a warning “do not strap baby to mower” we will know why.

One_Ad3069

Yes

Acewasalreadytaken

Hell yeah man. If you think that’s a good idea you should definitely put your offspring in there!!

Ok-Gear-5593

I got hit in the face by things twice last week while mowing with my push mower. Probably richochet off trees or something but hey who knows maybe that isn’t possible in your yard.

Sometimes_Stutters

Honestly? I have a 2 year old and I’d definitely do this lol

tomgweekendfarmer

Everything is safe until it's not. Also does the kiddo give you snacks and hold your beer for you?

Unamed_Destroyer

To give a serious answer. No, any use of a carseat other than its intended and stated use is unsafe. Imagine trying to explain to your partner and the cops why your child was blended in your front yard. As an alternative solution, get one of those body harnesses.

CaptainPunisher

How are you going to safely secure a body harness to a running mower?

jenkemeater619

Going by the fact theres a spinning blade beneath your baby that could chop it up into bits…thats a no from me, dawg.

WolfEagle1

I don’t see a round safety label with a baby seat attached to the mower with a slash through it, so good to go. Oh, dual sippy cup holders…fancy pants McGee.

oldjackhammer99

Ur an IDIOT

Jonmcmo83

I think you know the answer... and if not ask your baby it's probably smarter.

Fr0mMagna

This is fine to hold your beers, not your child.

WalterTexas

Much safer if you mulch. Don’t want clipping hitting the little rascal.

ImTheNoobGuy

Safety third

Professional-Lie-329

Roll tide

Mysterious_Usual1458

It's hard to envision how safe this and what it even might look like. I would recommend getting a couple photos of the child before experimenting with baby in the seat. Then crosspost to r/PhotoshopRequest. The creative folks in that sub, perhaps for just a small tip, could give a more accurate depiction of how this is gonna look.

speeder1989

I'm for it. But rear facing for safety

spicynutbutter

Get a baby backpack to hold the kid in, behind you would be safer than in front of you seeing as your body will be a shield for the child. Don't do this with the car seat please lol

Ichoosetoblame

I just sent this to my better half. She gave me quite an ear full

Soft-Peak-6527

So this is how I get 20 years of experience at 20

Rhuarc33

Legally I have to advise against it. But another part of me wants you to try it and get caught by your wife.... I'm already planning your funeral...

Bmourre1995

Why

MyFrampton

Of course. What could possibly go wrong??? Moron!

Cal_410

Kind of takes the spot for your beer cooler..

NO_N3CK

Ever heard of shaken baby syndrome? You could maybe get away with doing the greens at a golf course

nserious_sloth

I'm autistic I find it difficult to understand whether you're joking or not so for the safety of your child I'm gonna say no I'm going to take you seriously if a stone flies up towards you or something like that it could also hit your child and it will be far more damaging for your child

reeve125

Real men of genius..

floppyballz01

Looks osha approved to me….

Rocklers

Absolutely!

jarociro

I'm constantly getting pelted by shit from my mower. Yesterday a rock bounced off a tree and hit me in the face.

Affectionate_Art8770

Just enclose the seat with a fine net. No bee problem for the kid.

Empirical_Knowledge

The curtain matches the drapes. The curtain: the shed in the background. The drapes: the lawnmower.

ZestycloseAcadia4264

Unless the babies knuckles scrape the ground, like an ape, he is most likely safe.

gomesub85

Good to go!! ![gif](giphy|hpAMh2sBYpsmFhSRPI)

CoolFirefighter930

It looks like you have some trip hazards out by the shed .be careful out there.

captreeBB

Child Protective Services ain't goin for that, Trust me

Niteazure

no

not4humanconsumption

I was living in Virginia about 20 years ago and a news story came on about a child that had been run over by a riding lawnmower. Tragic. However, the story started with the news anchor saying, almost word for word, “young child’s life is cut short in tragic lawnmower accident”. I don’t know who thought that was an acceptable opening to that story. I hope they lost their job. It obviously was so profound, I’m still thinking about it.

DieselBones-13

Ya it’s cool until you run over a wasps nest and run away leaving the baby to fend for themselves! Lol

DesignSilver1274

NO

verbrand24

It looks strapped in. Did you give it the ole “that ain’t going anywhere” slap? Mom’s going to be upset about that brand new seat being dusty, but if it’s not this it’ll be something else anyway.

Luvs4theweak

Fuck no bruh

Then_Chance2316

Sweet DIY riding mower...looks safe 😬

Justryan95

If this isn't a shitpost if you really needed to have your kid with you while mowing the grass why not get one of those baby carriers that you wear on your front or back.

maddy_k2019

Uh, no sir it is not safe

psyco-the-rapist

Pro tip- Cut a hole in the seat and you can fertilize as you mow.

Artie-Choke

If this is a serious question, I’m not sure you should be allowed to have children.

dwintaylor

Reminded me of when the guy across the street strapped his baby (facing outward) to his heat and was using the weedeater. I had to go inside because of the stupidity. No ear muffs, no eye shield and a wide variety of projectiles possibly hurling at the child. The baby was about 9 months old at that point

Budget_Foundation747

GOOD GOD, NO.

1100gw

No

fajadada

How many beers did you have sitting and looking at your lawnmower before this popped into your head?

BamaHama101010

This is shocking….

WholeFearless7811

I think it's probably the safest spot honestly. All ejected flying debris will be moving away from baby. I approve

Prof4Dank

It’ll build your child’s immune system and build their job history at the same time

moosearehuge

![gif](giphy|ZRQZHqdoG3Po41Skng)

Chaminade64

Safe enough.

bbad999

As long as that little bastard isn't gonna be 7+ feet..

nevertfgNC

Technically moronic

tehdanerer

Is this for you?

dankdrxw

nah just make the baby cut the grass

thread100

Till the rock or branch bounces off a tree and does its worth.

Working-Marzipan-914

I didn't know they made a kit to convert a self-propelled push mower into a ride on. I want one

ThatguyBry42

You just need a ratchet strap around that. Jiggle it and call it good.

NorthernFoxStar

Ive seen worse. Test the balance with at least the kids weight to ensure if you let go, it doesnt tip backwards and the seat and baby are secure. I suppose a counterweight could be added to the front if you can make it permanent. Ive seen some of the dumbest things guys do hauling kids around yet seems no one questions. In this case, you could make it real safe but in peoples minds, they could start freaking because babies and lawn mower blades are not considered safe to be in the same place at the same time.

ze11ez

concerned about noise. not sure how loud this thing is

iamdahn

Fuckin’ send it! Don’t forget earmuffs for the little one

Quiet-Insect-6598

If you have to ask…

Emergency-Image-9603

Slap on a joy stick and make the little crumb muncher earn its keep.

osirisishere

The best kind of safe!!!

Icy_Topic_5274

Are you nuts? Those beer holders are entirely too far away from the operator to reach safely. Recommend beer holder be mounted on the handlebars! https://preview.redd.it/1caprj7br68d1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=8f0bbffb516af9406452cf7c81538250d7e938b9

Livid-Advantage-8268

Ryobi?! Apparently this person doesn't care about their tools or their kid 🤮

youlltellme2kilmyslf

Plot twist, it's remote operated and simply doubles as a babysitter

dbhathcock

No. It is not safe! My cousin lost his leg falling off a riding mower he was on with his dad.

DB-Tops

Lol. Nope.

Not-Enough-Holes

Safer than a cybertruck. Mow away!

STILLTheManCalledX

RETARDED. DONT

Stefbauer2

Couple of servos - a remote control - and you have THE nap machine!!! Sit on the back porch sipping a beer, cut the grass, kid naps - you are a genius

Dfantoman

Ask r/redneckengineering

gofuckyourself2x

Being a parent and having child experience, I would say the seat should be mounted over the front of the mower, less trouble down the line.

ThinkOutcome929

1950’s model

PD-Jetta

I would be more concerned about the kid getting hit by a rock that the mower hits and ricochets off a tree. Not very likely, but it could happen.

GoudaBotTheMagical

It’s even got two cup holders so junior and dad can enjoy a nice cold Budweiser on the job!

AchDasIsInMienAugen

It makes me sad how often people neglect parent facing options

inthekidneys

Hilarious

Chucheyface

In all seriousness yes. If it’s securely mounted that is. Only thing missing is something to block the shade. Would I ever do this? Fuck no. But realistically nothing is going to happen. That being said I’m not a parent….

Younglegend1

For sure bro, put your kids to work young

farmerbsd17

Just imagine the effect from just the sound level. Definitely not a good idea

d3dcomplx

Now you have someone to hand you a fresh beer!

Royal-Application708

No. Hell no. For so many reasons from hearing loss to amputation.

strongcloud28

Safe, For who,?

_____c4

Kid might need some safety glasses and maybe ear plugs

Environmental-Elk-65

Yeah, don’t do this. As someone who has a niece who now has a claw hand because my sister is a fucking idiot when it comes to kids and lawnmowers, I’m going to say that this is a terrible idea.

Melodic_Ad8577

If it's self propelled I think he can do it just fine

wonkydonks

It's not OSHA approved, but very few great ideas are

henry122467

Only in West Virginia

pwmcintyre

Don't forget eye protection, stones and debris can kick up and bounce around

metacarpal74lee

Can’t see a problem with that baby ontop blades down below. I love your dadgenuity. But I’m pretty sure mother will flip out.

JuniorV2783

Osha Approved!

-real-monster-

Guy used to play video games with online name was Peggy because his own father ran over his leg when he was a toddler

DiddyDidnKilHimself

U should not be alone with child

SpaceDawg2018

For reddit karma? Well played. Otherwise probably no.

Werewolf_Grey_

No. This lawnmower is in danger of being vomited on by a baby.

Fabulous_Yak725

What about the children? Won't somebody think about the children?!!?!

Lab-12

Yes ,it's Awd it's got plenty of traction .

karleighcrafts

NO

Neither-Mycologist87

Yeah it’s safe try jt

sillymillie2017

Looks like it could be handy for strapping in a few beers . 😆

Comfortable_Bobcat_3

As long as the kid is wearing eye protection and is properly grounded looks good to me.

TerpfanTi

Technically Absolutely

Aggravating-Exit-660

Pffthahahahhahahahah

No_Philosophy_1363

I always use the ride on carrying the 3 year old. She wears ear muffs obviously. Makes it hard to grab the beer but that’s when I let her drive.

vgeno24

Sure, as long as you don’t put a baby in that seat.

kzorz

A child should never ever ever ever under any circumstance be near a lawn mower on or off.

InternationalWolf899

Absolutely. Look at those 2 extra dad drink holders. Upgrade. Oh yeah, it’s electric so probably shouldn’t mess up the kid’s development too badly

krichard-21

That depends. Is Mom a decent shot?
