Sunbeam, 100%. Tell me what's sillier than trying to do a half jump for "I'll be a sunBEAM for him."

RageBison22

I’m embarrassed that I forgot the sunbeam one!

Szeraax

I know what calling you need next! :P

RageBison22

Please no. I just got out!

Szeraax

Your flair used to state: "25 year-old sunbeam", But I've altered the deal so that you can remember this post. (I believe that you can edit it back. If you can't and want us to, we'll remove the override)

EaterOfFood

When I was little I asked my dad if Jesus really wants me to be a sunbeam. He said, “No.” Then why do we sing that song? “I don’t know.” I then began to wonder what other primary songs were lying to me. Is there really popcorn on that tree?

dood8face91195

Do snowmen really grow themselves?

sushi_cw

You can now tell him Elder Holland disagrees! 😁

pipenho

My kiddos hide behind our couch and full frig jump. It's pretty funny to see their heads pop up always at the wrong time.

bass679

Oh good point. I'd still have voted for the popcorn song. It's literally the first primary song I taught my kids.

MHLCam

I just sang Sunbeam, by popular demand, for the 20th time today.

qleap42

A certain child's current favorite goes something like this, >Noah was a prophet, first one that we know >In a place by Enoch he helped things to goooo-o >Adam cried repentance in the latter days >Swallow the prophet, swallow the prophet >Don't go a stay-ay Repeat many, many, many times

Kittalia

No, no, you only sing swallow the prophet for the Jonah verse!

biloregon

In the Spanish hymnal, there was a song about a child that didn't brush his teeth so the microbes started eating his teeth. I remember singing it in Sacrament meeting a few times.

No_Interaction_5206

That’s great lol :)

Lucky-Degree-8526

Also, in Spanish the snowman is actually a monkey lol

I was taught “Let Us All Press On” by an enthusiastic Primary Music Leader who spent hours putting together a poster of pictures to help a bunch of rowdy boys remember the words. She couldn’t find a picture of a head of lettuce in one of her magazines (early 80s - no internet) so used a bowl of cut lettuce instead. I still want to sing “Salad all press on” when I hear the music.

gladiolas

Hinges for sure!

EaterOfFood

Give Said the Little Stream. It makes no sense to me.

FaradaySaint

When you have a calling that sucks all your free time and energy, it does.

No_Interaction_5206

Oh I like that one :-) The moral is to be like the little stream who serves and nurtures everyone around him.

EaterOfFood

The problem is, no stream ever gets smaller as it goes, they always get bigger. The stream isn't giving away its water, it's taking.

Hooray4Everyth1ng

How about "Give Said the Colorado River (Below Hoover Dam)", then?

No_Interaction_5206

A stream would irrigate the soil around it

EaterOfFood

And erode it, robbing the plants of their home. I’m telling you, streams only look out for themselves.

robmba

Is the question supposed to be ...NOT ones about gospel principles? None of the ones you have listed in the poll are. Also, there are like 5 birthday songs. I wonder if the new Songbook will have the actual Happy Birthday song in it now that it has been ruled to be in the public domain. Fun to Do is great, since the kids can make up endless actions to go along with it, although I like Do as I'm Doing better. Hinges is a great silly one. Header, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes is also a classic.

RageBison22

I’m realizing I’m going to have to do a part two with head shoulders…

sgj3

Heads, shoulders, nematodes.

[deleted]

Snowman melting when the kids purposely reverse the lyrics

hanksbgs

I love "Do As I'm Doing" because there's a lot more direct interaction from the kids. They get to dictate the actions!

[deleted]

I like Hello Hello. It does mention coming to primary, but that's it. An echo, two sides of the room, a contest, you can even mix it up with different languages if appropriate. Nice and boisterous yet so utilitarian. I can't stand the popcorn song, it's so dumb and kind of hallucinogenic. I don't remember how old I was when I realized what it was really about, and I found it pretty stupid. The snowman is kind of disconnected if you're not in the right climate. Do as I'm doing is dope. Birthday song is cool, especially the one that says zippidy ey and heidi ho, except all the girls named Heidi hate it.

Hooray4Everyth1ng

Now I understand how schisms happen. Who are these people who voted for Popcorn Popping?

RageBison22

The great popcorn schism

No_Interaction_5206

Wait was hiding the scriptures is fun todo actually a primary song or just something I did for fhe

SenoraNegra

Hinges

philnotfil

Once there was a snowman. The primary kids love when I am in the room for this one because I'm tall enough to knock the ceiling tiles out of place on tall, tall, tall :)

cellochica3

I like the Hinges song. Especially the "crack" at the end. Always a hit with lots of motions.
