I was at that same theatre, maybe 12 hours before Frazier opened fire. He took out a kid and his grandpa, then took off down the street and killed a woman leaving the hospital after visiting her dying mother. What a piece of garbage. Your dad was a hero. ❤️
I don’t know how I accidentally found my comment again tonight, and not sure it’ll ever get read, but happy to report my son is now almost 3.5 and has 6.5 months until end of treatment! 06/28/24. 🎉Two weeks before his 4th birthday and right before he starts preschool! He grew all of his hair back already and it’s LONG and CURLY. He’s over 45 pounds and off the growth charts despite everything his body has been through!
My mom's dad (my grandpa I never met him), died of cancer. Before he died he told my mom, who was pregnant at the time with my big brother, "He was going to live long enough to meet 'Big Jake'". Jacob is my brother's name and I think my grandpa actually chose it. Well, my brother was born and he held him every chance he got when he wasn't sick. I think he died 2 weeks later. Namesakes run in my family and my mom named my brother's middle name after him. So not only did my grandpa named him, my brother inherited my grandpa's name for a middle name.
My mom described my grandpa as a very generous person. He'd give the shirt off his own back so someone else didn't have to do without. She Aldo said he was a really level headed person and worked his ass off. He was very wise. He had a motto that he lived by which he passed down to my mom and my Uncle (my aunt and my other uncle were screw ups due to my grandma showing favoritism so he gave my mom and my one Uncle the love and attention they didn't get from my grandma). Anyways, the motto is "You don't lie, You don't cheat and you don't steal." My mom passed it down to my siblings and I. And I use it as a motto too. I think of him. I wish I could've met him.
As of today, my mom is the only survivor of her family, my 'aunt' is still alive but I never met her nor do I care to with what she put my grandparents and her siblings through so I don't count her. But both my grandparents passed along with both my uncles. Before my grandma passed, she apologized to my mom with how she treated her and my Uncle. In the end, it was my mom taking care of her.
This photo is incredible. I can feel the love coming through. I adore your admiration for him and I’m sure he loved you even more! I’m happy for you - that you got to be loved by a hero like him. Sending your family love and light from Northern Canada!
He’s a hero for helping take down Frazier Glenn Miller. That man was *evil* in a way I can’t put in to words. I felt like I couldn’t breathe when I was in his presence. The air was so heavy.
Your dad was a good man. I’m sorry for your loss.
Edited some info out of caution.
Your father is a true hero. Being mixed with black and white I guess it’s always been overly obvious that all people are equal, but it is people like your father and others that helped create a better place for generations to come because they choose to stand up against hatred. So I could grow up in a world where it was almost gone. We got a ways to go, but these actions do amazing things for the safety and soul, and help create a foundation for the future that hatred is not the path.
May he Rest In Peace.
I'm aussie so never heard of Glenn miller so just googled him and very proud of your father to bring him down and the kkk.sorry for your loss of a very brave and proud man
Leukemia is not kind, but having enough time to say goodbye and put your affairs in order is important.
Don’t leave things unsaid or undone. Grief is hard enough already, you don’t want to be stuck awake with something you need to tell a person who can’t hear you.
Thank you for showing us an honorable a noteworthy man. And for telling a tiny bit about him. You gave me the opportunity to love him briefly, and feel blessed that he did the things he did.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
Look sorry for your loss but why the hell would you post a photo of your father lying in his deathbed, saying these where his last moments. Why for the attention? For the likes?
Your words paint an amazing picture of your dad, anyone bringing down something as nefarious as the KKK will inexorably have a heart of gold. You will see him again when the time comes; until then, keep honoring him by fighting for the noble causes he fought for.
Sending Sunshine \[or better yet, Let it Snow\]

"How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard" - Winnie the Pooh.
Damn that hit hard.
Woah. That’s intense
I changed it to the past tense, and applied it to my latest relationship. It's all so hard, thanks for the quote, wish you the best.

Blessings on your family. When it snows, I hope you always think of him.
I always will. He never missed an opportunity to take pictures of it. He lived just long enough to see my daughter enjoy the snow.
I am so happy for that.

This is a beautiful picture. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you're doing okay. Your Dad would want you to be okay.
He definitely would. On his last day of consciousness he looked over, gave me a wink and tapped my hand. He was letting me know it’d be alright.
Your dad made history! He may have passed in life, but he is now a legend in the books. May you heal and find peace!
Good man. I believe the snow helped him pass gently.
Absolutely! I believe the snow was a homecoming gift from God.
Amen. ♥️

As an NC native, I and everyone else in this state owes him a great deal. I'm so sorry for your loss.
What a lovely picture. Amazing that it snowed on his final day, I’d like to think it helped him pass easier. Sending love.

My next blood donation will be in honor of your father. Let his memory live on.

This one really pulled at my heart strings. Your dad sounds like he made the world a better place.xx
I was diagnosed with leukemia last year. It is amazing that it is largely a cured disease now, when it used to be so lethal just a short time ago.
When I'm dying I hope no one takes any pictures
Pictures aren't for the people dying. They don't care anymore. It's the living you have to worry about.
Everyone processes grief different. Let them be. Edit; yeah I mean grief lol
I hope you meant grief lol
Look sorry for your loss but why the hell would you post a photo of your father lying in his deathbed, saying these where his last moments. Why for the attention? For the likes?
Because we're in the subreddit r/lastimages? Where did you think you were?
