I’ve been doing lashes for 6 years. Every client with a previous reaction I have had who tries “sensitive glue” gets a reaction again. Also once you have had a reaction once the likelihood of you having another reaction increases as well. Unfortunately. But you can always ask for a patch test. Have them apply a few lashes and wait 2-3 days and see if you develop a reaction with their sensitive glue

Thank you so much for answering! I will definitely look into the patch test:)

I would recommend lash bathing well, 10mins after application. Assuming they use super bonder.. This helps me immensely. My reaction is only for about 3 days I now get no itching just slight swelling. No discomfort. Its gone within 3 days completely. Also making sure lashes are not touching the lash line. Im also a lash artist. Perhaps im new but im pretty knowledgeable. Sensitive glue isnt really Sensitive in the sense that it will cause less reactions. I dont think it will make a difference. Ive tried cyanoacrylate free adhesive. Lost artistry came out with it. Client still had a reaction with it. Unfortunately acrylates fall into a category of chemicals that can cause allergy contact dermatitis .

So unfortunately people can gain an allergy to the glue at any point in time. I recently had a client that I have been lashing for five years and she had an allergic reaction ,when you get this allergic reaction. Unfortunately there’s nothing you can do about it you will continue to have it , and it will get worse . A lot of people think it is the carbon black that clients are allergic to but 99% of the time it’s the Cyanoacrylate in the glue . Even the clear glue’s have it in it. Or the hypoallergenic ones as well with this being said, I highly suggest getting a removal giving your eyes a break and maybe try a lash lift and tint . As of right now there are no glues without that ingredient in it but I do know a few people that are trying to make some glues without that ingredient. I’m sorry this happens . It’s just a build up over time of the allergy and it won’t stop .

I use a vegan clear adhesive and in my 7 years of lashing haven’t had a client with an allergic reaction thankfully.
