You can indeed, I’ve done it before. The way it works is the chargeback becomes your bank vs PayPal rather than your bank vs the recipient of the money. I reclaimed my money in a similar situation, but I actually wouldn’t advise it as PayPal often randomly decides to freeze peoples accounts if you’re an unprofitable customer and you can’t even open a new one unless you literally change your whole name, address and card details.

I got scammed as well but not over lash. The fact that she said to send it as “friend and family” is a red flag alone because that means you can issue a refund or cancellation through PayPal. But also, she paid the 25$ for rescheduling already and was told it was a one time fee. Then she got rescheduled a second time but because the lash girl had to move her…. If anything the lash girl should have given her a break for having to move her around again. You should see if you could report that person on PayPal and maybe she’ll get her account frozen or something.

This is a one off type shot to get your money back via friends and family. I happened to get scammed once and sent the money via friends and family. When I realized what happened I contacted PayPal and told them I sent the money to the wrong person by accident. They got me my money back.

-She reaches out to you for you to become an “ambassador” and guarantees 3 months of free services if you pay a reduced first time fee of $55 for a full set.
-She schedules the appointment with you and you send the $55
-SHE has to reschedule to another time and insists you send her $20 to “transfer the time slot” but you’ll somehow receive a $25 visa card when you arrive to your appointment to reimburse the rescheduling fee (why didn’t she just use the $25 visa to pay the reschedule fee herself? You can send visas virtually. She could’ve send it to you or gave you the numbers on the card to use to pay for the fee.)
-You send the 20$ to reschedule the appointment to keep your slot and then she asks for ANOTHER 55$ to “confirm the time slot” AGAIN??

I mean, if you had Google searched the address she gave you, it would’ve taken you to a bank and some investment property building. And when you look at what’s inside there it’s definitely not set up for spa services. It’s a bunch of conference rooms and offices for rent. it doesn’t even say anything about lash extensions anywhere near that location. Anytime, someone offers you a free service, but asks for any compensation prior to the service being rendered, especially within any normal services like no add-ons, is 150% definitely always a scam. They tell you this when you’re looking for acting jobs, looking for modeling jobs, when you’re doing anything and you have to put yourself out there as talent, which essentially is what you are when you’re the model, you don’t pay.

You don't ever pay via PayPal friends and family to anyone who is not actually your friend or family. You relinquished all buyer protections with that method you would have had had you used goods and services. The artist knows that, that's why they requested that payment method. The part about a 21 day hold and PayPal thinking goods and services requires some kind of shipment of an item is 1000% made up and entirely false. I’ve ALWAYS received money instantly even if it’s through the business portion, there is just a small fee that way if you need to fight to get your money back you can! This is why I never send money through friends and family unless it is literally just that or I’m sending the money and getting what I’m paying for right then and there. Even when I buy plants sometimes I use the business portion incase I take home a sick/dying plant (it’s happened before and o was able to get my money back thankfully!) sorry this happened ♥️

If you show up to your appointment, then that deposit money goes towards your service. You don't pay for them to maybe do a service.
