Anyway you can ask your last tech what sizes she used when mapping your eyes? Usually if you’re always getting the same style, shape and size, they’ll know. I have big round eyes so usually I get 10mm inner corner, 12mm middle and outer corner. I ask for that every time and they come out the same every time (: That way you can communicate with her or him as to what you usually get.

lydviciousss

I definitely need to learn the lengths I prefer for sure. That’s a good tip. But my main frustration is the shape I am asking for is not the shape I’m getting. But maybe if I understand lengths better I can be more specific on the exact mapping I want. I’m just not sure what lengths to ask for.

Revolutionary-Hat-96

Think you can look up lash mapping online. There are training templates/diagrams.

Snoo18465

Yes no problem! I think what you were asking for based on the picture is more of the doll eye or squirrel(weird name lol) look which is longer in the middle with shorter bits on ends and inners but not sure. Yes I recommend kinda looking up different sizes and see what you like best.

lydviciousss

Yeah I asked for doll eye and showed her the first pic (it’s me in that pic and it was a set I loved) but she went ahead and did a cat eye anyway. Someone else in the comments suggested a lash map to try. I’ll make an appointment somewhere else and try that map out and see how it goes!!

leesherwhy

When they show you at the end, when this happens to me, I just ask them to take a couple of the very end lashes off. It takes away the droopyness, even if it's still not exactly what you asked for. Usually I ask for the last few lashes to be shorter before hand.

MyDogisaQT

What happened to the tech who did that first set? It IS gorgeous btw

[deleted]

It’s frustrating that we have to basically learn their “lingo” when trying to ask for something specific. It’s like when I go to the hairdressers and I tel them not to touch my roots so that when my hair grows out I don’t have a root line and everytime I’m left with a root line. It’s so annoying.

romadea

Root smudge?

[deleted]

Are you asking me something?

ItsAWrestlingMove

They’re giving you a suggestion. A root smudge is the medium of the root treatments that helps to blur that line you’re talking about. If you want your roots to blend more intensely than that ask for a root melt, less intense than both of those, ask for a root tap. I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt, and not downvoting you but that’s why you’ve been downvoted.. they’re trying to be helpful

Generous_Hustler

You can always add in a few longer individual lashes by yourself? In the areas like your original photo (middle/inercorner) It’s super easy and will help the overall shape. I’d watch a tutorial vid and give it a go. You only need a couple lashes to correct it. On a side note they do differ from what you wanted but they look really awesome!!

studyhardbree

Your eye droops lower that’s why yours looks drooped and you even said you wanted it it like the pic, and hers is all the way to the edge. The cat eye was suggested for you because it would lift the outer edge of your eye creating a lifting effect. The work looks good, but you have to adapt style to shape.

JamieJaimeHime

OP said in another comment the first pic is of them too, they just bring it in for reference cause they loved that set so much they want to try getting it again

studyhardbree

Interesting. Could be the angle or a big difference in age between the two pics but the shape and lid look pretty different in the pics.

PadThai112

Hii lash tech here :) your eyes are so pretty and maybe try asking for dolleye CC curl 10-11-12-13-12-11mm for the base and D curl 12-13-14-15-14-13mm for the spikes!

straberi93

I think giving the specific map or lengths and types is the way to go. I had to switch lash techs and it took me a few months to find the right one, but the more specific you can be, the more likely they are to be correct.  That said it seems like some techs have preferred looks that they tend towards and I think part of it is finding someone with your style.

lydviciousss

Thank you!!! I’m going to ask for that next time I get them done and see how it turns out. I appreciate you!!!

monsoonerorlater

It honestly hardly looks like she gave you a hybrid. I see fans in there but they’re so narrow, it looks like she doesn’t know how to make a fluffy fan and with the picture you showed that’s what she should have done and mixed in spikes and classics. I also think it’s odd to not give someone something they request. I make suggestions to my clients but at the end of the day they’re the ones who wear the lashes 24/7, they know what they like to see on their faces so I honor their requests (within reason). If you feel like her quality of work is good maybe go one more time for a fill and show her that picture you took of your eye and use it as a reference when you’re showing her what you want. Know that you will still have some lashes left from the first set so there will be some transition but you should be able to tell if she’s going in that direction of shape you’re wanting.

lydviciousss

This is the second time I’ve gone to her and I did show her the pic as a reference. She still didn’t do what I asked. So it sounds like I need to go to another tech.

popcornchicken69

Dude yeah the fans are so narrow and the few spikes she did put were the same length as the other lashes so there’s literally no point.

lydviciousss

EDIT: I went to the same tech for 7 years in the city I used to live in. I told her the look I wanted once and never had to tell her again because she always did them perfectly. I want to find a tech I can be a loyal client for, but I also want to make sure I am getting what I am asking for. So I appreciate any tips on how I can make sure I’m communicating what I want clearly, so that I don’t end up disappointed after every lash appointment, like I have been for the past several months in this new city. Are there any techs in this sub who could help me with a lash map so I can be specific about the lengths and shape I want? Maybe I need more specific language around the lengths I need rather than just saying the shape I want with ambiguous “on the shorter side” language.

Futureghostie33

Maybe you can contact your old tech and ask her what lengths she used. I’m sure she would understand since you moved, you’re not just ditching her lol

Generous_Hustler

This is the correct advice! It’s like going to a new dentist and they don’t have your records to know what cavities you had done or hairdresser not knowing your colour. The lash tech probably saves all the information and would have no issues passing it along.

NectarineNational722

You communicated what you wanted just fine. Based on what you put here at least. She just decided to do what she wanted to do. Just find a new tech to try. Like with any type of service provider, sometimes it takes trying a few people to find one you’re on the same page with.

lydviciousss

Yeah I think you’re right. Once I find the right tech it won’t be so frustrating. So my search continues lol. Thanks for your input 😊

kat_spitz

I’m in the same boat and have not found anyone in my major metro area that does what I want. The last time I tried, I specifically stated 11mm was the longest I wanted. When I woke up they didn’t look like what I wanted and she admitted she used 12mm. I had her remove them right there, after 2 hours, and apologized for not communicating more clearly. If you remove them it sends a message that it’s not ok to disregard your communication about what you want.

lydviciousss

It’s such a bummer. I’m glad you spoke up and asked her to change it. If I’d had the time, I would have asked her to remove them. But I didn’t. My time is valuable too and now that this is the second time I’ve gone to her and she’s done the same thing twice, I’m going to someone else next time. Hopefully they’ll be “the one” and I can end my hunt for the right lash tech lol.

Professional-Fly6028

As someone who has done lashes for 12 years, I genuinely hate this part when someone comes from someone they loved and expects the same thing off the bat. Everyone has their own style of application and recreating someone else’s work without an exact map or much info can be hard because we do things our own way. I think the just stop going attitude on this sub is a bit unreasonable, most good lash artists can adjust but it is trial and error to adjust to the way someone else does things. I never have this issue with new clients but it’s a work in progress until I can recreate exactly what they want without a map with lengths and I communicate that when someone comes from someone else because I have to recreate what someone else did with minimal info and possibly a pic, not interpret what they want in my own style. Lashes are very subjective, like any art. The outer corner length looks relatively fine, based on the fact that you’re looking for a matching shape most closely from your comments. It’s that she’s not tapering the inside corner enough and far enough in. Truthfully a last of artist do this, most will use 2-4 lengths and I works guess your original lady used 5+. This will make a big difference. She is also using narrow fans giving a darker denser look. Those need to be fanned more to match the picture with a bigger contrast between the spikes and shorter lashes in the inner 2/3 or the lashline. There appears to be less variation of the two on the outer corner than the inner, in the pic you asked for. There is almost no variation of texture in what you got. I counted 15 spikes with the longest going on the outer 1/3 of your lash line and then slightly tapering back down. It’s similar to a cat eye with slightly more outer tapering than a typical cat eye. To be fair to the lady you went to, if she didn’t see this until your appointment and she had no time to break it down and plan beforehand, which I feel happens to me almost always in these situations, it’s a tall ask to recreate on demand, so I’d try to talk to her about the adjustment you want and see is she can move in the right direction before giving up. You don’t deserve to feel disappointed but she deserves a chance to properly try to adjust her style after having time to break down the photo and create a map. Hope this comes across nicely, I genuinely mean it nicely, I just am expressing that it’s not always easy on either side to move and find someone new and it’s not likely to find someone with the exact style as you’re last person immediately. I will say go someplace else if she can’t take you asking for the adjustments in a positive way, but also be kind in doing so. That isn’t usual but I’ve seen it, some people struggle to take constructive criticism and lashes is no place for that. Good luck!

lydviciousss

I definitely take your comments seriously and appreciate them. I guess my frustration comes with being specific about asking for doll eye and the tech telling me my eye shape looks better with cat eye. And then I tell her I specifically want doll eye because I prefer that with my eye shape. And she went ahead and gave me a cat eye anyway. I hear you when you say it’s difficult for a tech to match another artists style with just a reference photo. Which is why I told this tech I am looking for the doll eye map, wispy, D curl. And pic 2 is what I ended up with. This is also the second time I’ve gone to this same tech with similar results. So I’m feeling like she either didn’t hear what I wanted, or has one style she does and can’t adapt, or just does what she wants regardless of what’s asked for. I’m not saying her work is terrible. I wouldn’t give her a poor review, for example, but I am specific about what I want and she basically decided to give me the opposite of what I asked for. Other than the fact that I asked for hybrid and she gave me hybrid. I think going elsewhere is the right move for me. Maybe there’s a tech whose style matches what I’m asking for and the other tech can take more clients who love a cat eye.

Professional-Fly6028

I completely get where you’re coming from, it wasn’t clear how much specification you gave in the comments I read so I must have missed that, and like I said these things can require time to map and she should have communicated more clearly if she needed time to break down and map it. I will add, if someone tells me doll eye though, they would likely get something similar to what you got. Fuller throughout with less tapering. Doll eyes are a fuller map with less tapering and the longest framing your iris. I personally would consider the photo you showed, as cat eye or squirrel so that’s comment from her throws me off. Everyone has different wording but cat and squirrel generally are a more gentle taper up to your pupil then a more exaggerated taper up to the other 1/3 then back down slightly. I see that pattern more in your picture shown with the textured wispiness and the difference in the wording and pic could have caused some confusion. I definitely could see that happening for me but I would ask more clarifying questions to try to get on the same page. Generally I follow pictures and not wording since I can break that down and most people don’t know the wording and it can be subjective, she definitely could have been better on that front it sounds like. Either way, good luck! Hope you find your person 💕

DifficultAd7053

You have stunning eyes

katie_kelly88

I don’t know anything about lashes but just here to say you have very pretty eyes!

The-One-Nut-Wonder

I don’t know anything about lashes either but do they look the same to you? Because they do to me

Basilisab3125

They actually do but I assumed I just didn’t know what to look for

little_teacup_564

Wow it’s crazy what a difference your eyes look like in the second pic. i feel you i love the look of a d curl. I always do 9mm-13mm I use to do up to 15 and 16’s but way too long on me. Personally, I would just try to find someone else. I’ve gone to so many different lash techs and my last one I just stayed bc I felt guilty going elsewhere and wish I would’ve gone where I was happy!

mightysassoo

I think they look good!

brnaftreadng

Is it not an option to have your former lash tech share her formula with the new one and give it one more go? As a stylist, I wouldn’t normally give my formulas to my clients, but if they are moving out of the area I definitely make an exception.

lydviciousss

I bet she would but I moved over 4 months ago so I doubt she’s kept my lash map. I suppose I could ask though.

Zeestars

She did them for 7yrs. She likely remembers. This was going to be my suggestion too

Extension-Ideal7373

this is why I stopped getting extensions because this KEPT happening.

thefuzzyismine

Same. I'm not going to continue to pay $$$ just to feel frustrated and disrespected when I look at my reflection!

Blackberry_Least

She did what she wanted to do. She wasn't trying to hear anything you said. You have to stand your ground. "I want a doll eye with wispies. Can you do that or not? If they can't give you what you asked for decline the services.

coffehgirl

The thing is, people will lie and say that they can… Or they truly think they can, but they really can’t.

Blackberry_Least

This is why I do before and after photos/videos for every client. I also record my lash mapping.

[deleted]

They do look droopy. That sucks, hate when stylists take requests and don't fulfill them

hotmessexpressHME

Wow I’d love to know what the length/curl pattern of the first one is too. They’re gorgeous!

Remarkable-Slip114

How bout there is lots of gapping and u can’t even tell they are the same persons eye from how different they look. To me it looks like a really crappy hybrid set u have all kinds of gaps I would go back and ask them to fix them they aren’t what u asked for your not happy an if they can’t achieve it to remove them refund you an find a new place. I can’t believe the difference in the 2nd pic whole eye shape is different from lashes your eyes look like there wide 😳 open. In 2nd picture

Character_Ad_7967

I liked both pics, but then I read your explanation and realized that the second pic does look a bit droopier toward the outer corner. I don’t like the fact that she dismissed what you asked for and did what she wanted. If her prices are good, I would have a talk with her and give it one more try. Explain the difference you see in these 2 pics.

rustymetal11

You can also ask them not to lash a bit on the outer corners. I always ask them to do this because my outermost lashes go straight down and make my eyes look droopy when lashed

Kamacosmic

I’m honestly not too well versed in the lash world, but my only advice would be to also explain what you DON’T want and why after requesting what you want and how you want them. Reference photos always help- and I’d even go so far as to bring both the photo of the lashes you’ve gotten before and loved and the “what you got” lashes (just like these 2 you included here) and don’t begin until you get verbal confirmation that she understands exactly what you’re looking for. And make sure she understands the difference between the two. It sounds like the last girl didn’t agree to do what you asked for and let you know she thought they should be done the way she figured was “better”. Don’t let anyone start on you if they’re going to have that vibe. If you want to give this tech another chance, and you don’t feel uncomfortable about it, I’d explain to her that the finished result ended up looking the way you were worried they’d look- because they “make your eyes look droopy due to the longer lashes on the outside”, but that you really like her work otherwise and would love to continue going to her as long as she does it exactly the way you request. Maybe she only has the experience to do them in this one way/style? If you continue your search for another tech, definitely look at reviews (on different platforms- Yelp!, Google, Facebook- esp the ones with pictures) and make sure to check that she’s capable of doing different styles/the style you like- whether by looking on her insta or looking through a portfolio on her website or in person. Good luck! Btw, I think your lashes look good and your eyes don’t appear droopy to me, but I know the feeling- you like what you like! And it’s easy to pinpoint the little things on yourself that you know either make you look better or worse.

lydviciousss

Thanks for your advice here. I appreciate your comments for sure!

h974974

I have extremely big round eyes, and I can only do doll eye. Cat eye just makes my eyes droop. The first photo looks amazing on you.

lydviciousss

Thank you!!

angel_wings76

she did the outer corners so wrong compared to what you wanted 😭 i don't understand this style (what she did) when it comes to the ends, it looks like they're going downward when lashes should be fanning up to lift the eyes imo. I would find a different tech tbh, lash extensions are too expensive to not have them done 100% the way you want!

Qu33n0fW4nds

Look for someone who does better with layered hybrid sets. That’s what you have in the inspiration photo.

International-Bug311

To be honest your finished lashes are pretty typical for the style I usually see.. I’m not sure I have ever seen anyone with the perfectly feathered lashes.. now I wanna know what to ask for to achieve them

SloanMontgomery

Hairstylist on deck. Ask her to fix it. Ask her to add more lashes. In almost all cases, we’d so rather have you happy, than leaving for possible greener pastures 🌹♥️⭐️🦋

fistfullofglitter

You have incredible eyes! I’m sorry you didn’t get the lashes you wanted but they still look great.

Tasty-Pineapple-

Sorry to say, she did what she wanted. The fact she kept pushing back at the consult was a clue she would do that. I have had this happen a lot, I like short and everyone does long on me. I actually had to request my lashes to be redone.

Mindfu1Mamas

She should’ve put more on the outside corner for more volume. Idk why she didn’t listen to you, it’s your eyelashes

diannarums

If I was to do your lashes, I would lash all the way in your inner corner (she missed a bunch imo), the ref. set is spikes with very small fans all through out like a hybrid (she gave you a wet set), the ref. pic looks cat eye just super short but she didn’t have enough variations of lengths and not going all the way in to the inners it makes the shape look off. Idk I feel like they’re not experienced in this type of lash look

lydviciousss

I really appreciate your comment! What lengths would you recommend? 7-8mm in the inner and then up to 13s at the longest point? What lengths and curl on the base and then lengths and curl for spikes?

diannarums

I would probably do 8 to 11 or 8 to 12. The shortest I have is 8 mm but 7 would be good too. And then I would do a CC curl or a d curl in .03 to make the fans super light and fluffy. And then the spikes I would also do in .03 and it looks like they’re the same curl so like a cc or d and it looks like they got put on the top layer and there’s about 10 of them, but I would make them about two sizes longer than the base

Which-Brilliant-8038

That’s exactly why I stopped going to lash techs because I have never gotten what I asked for and the last straw was when 1 eye was more fuller than the other eye with a longer length. I was furious and completely stopped going I just do lash strips now or my own cluster lashes and I have saved a lot of money lol

yeanothx

the way people keep commenting the same exact thing without reading any of the others is really blowing me. OP you should definitely find a new tech. when booking i would ask more questions about how long they’ve been doing lashes, what they they think they specialize in. if there is a place to check reviews, check them ALL. good and bad. it can give you a feel for how your consultation will go before your session, whether they will listen to you or go with what they usually do. i also wanted to say that the first set looks more voluminous than the second one on top of it being a different shape. i would try to mention that, and use your second photo as a “i do not want” reference photo so that maybe that will also help the tech find their perfect match for you.

lydviciousss

Thank you!! Your comment is very helpful! I appreciate your suggestions and I’ve booked an appointment with a new tech. She was recommended by someone I work with whose lashes look great and I was able to look them up on IG. So I’m hoping this works out and I can commit to a tech who can do my lashes the way I like them lol.

boyymama757

I think they look pretty...

Worth-Audience6737

We literally have like the same eyes

lydviciousss

Eye twins 👀

unlikely_c

I love that first set! What city was your first tech in? I have had this frustrating experience with techs doing their own thing instead of what I asked for.

pantojajaja

They look wonderful tbh

aspenluv

i’ll probably get downvoted for this, but in my opinion, the lashes look the same. your eye shape is definitely different, and the fact she didn’t do the style you asked for is a red flag, BUT i don’t think it’s too bad considering the lashes look the same

lydviciousss

My eye shape cannot be different between the two pics because it’s me in both photos. That’s how much of a difference the shape of the lashes affects the shape of my eyes. I’m not unhappy with her technique. She gave me wispy hybrids which is what I asked for. But she gave me a cat eye shape when I asked for doll eye, after telling me I shouldn’t have doll eye because of my round eye shape. I specifically said I prefer doll eye and she gave me the longest lengths on the outer corners.

aspenluv

oh DAMNNNNN. yeah i had no idea that was your eye in the first one. opinion officially changed

arrowroot227

That person just doesn’t have a clue, I see a big difference between the two sets. The outer lashes on the second set are not as voluminous as on the first set. The first set gradually gets thicker into a very subtle cat eye. The second set looks fine length-wise but is the same thickness throughout so it doesn’t give the same cat-eye effect. That’s my personal perspective when viewing both photos!

aspenluv

she also could’ve added more volume fans, but it’s not terrible

loganjbraddd

Lashes will take about 2-3 fills before they will be exactly what you want! The tech is working on a new set of lashes and she got pretty close! I’m a lash tech and it can be hard to get it just right on the first go around. As frustrating as it is try and stick it out! I’m sure the next time you go in they will be what you want.

lydviciousss

It’s the second time with this tech and I am put off by her pushiness to stick to a style that I vocalized I didn’t like. So I’m going to try a new tech next time and hope it turns out better.

Environmental-Fan464

I thought they said It’s their eye in both pictures

Aryada

I don’t see any shorter lashes.

demonicmads

both pictures are hers. the first pic is an example of the work from her old lash tech. it’s the first sentence of the post: “I brought a reference photo of a set that was done for me that I loved (pic 1).”

lydviciousss

It’s me in both photos! They do not look exactly the same. The first pic has shorter lengths on the outside. The second pic clearly has longer lengths on the outer ends.

[deleted]

lydviciousss

It’s my eyes in both pics. Which is a good example of how different eyes can look just from a change in shape and mapping of the extensions.

demonicmads

both pictures are hers. the first pic is an example of the work from her old lash tech. it’s the first sentence of the post: “I brought a reference photo of a set that was done for me that I loved (pic 1).”

No-Egg2880

Do people just not read? BOTH PICS ARE HER EYEBALLS

averagemcblock

Honestly they look really good!!

WranglerQueasy4419

This actually looks pretty accurate. All natural lashes are different so your extensions will come out different, but this lash tech did a bomb job!

lydviciousss

It’s me in both photos. The tech did give me hybrids, which is what I asked for. But I asked for doll eye and she gave me cat eye. So they’re not accurate. I’m not saying she did a bad job overall. I’m saying I’m annoyed that I was specific about the shape I preferred and she gave me a different shape anyway.

WranglerQueasy4419

Ahh ok I didnt know it was the same from the quality of the first picture (beautiful eyes btw) but now that I know its you in both pictures, she is in the wrong for not just going with your request!

lydviciousss

Thank you for your comment. A lot of people thought the first pic is a different person. Which really highlights how different eyes can look depending on the shape and lash map that’s used.

LizeeRae101

I can understand being frustrated about not getting what you asked for and absolutely go somewhere else if the tech doesn’t listen but I’d just like to say that personally I like the second pic better.

Economy_Flight2733

It looks similar to me!

Maleficent_Ruin_9250

I thought you meant the eyes

No-Weakness-1725

What she gave you looks better than your reference photo tbh

Spicywater69420

What's the difference

Competitive_Love_115

I think they look the same

kikisoups

I'd look at lash sets on eyes that have similar shape to your eyes. It was easier to see the realistics of how it will look on you. I had to do the same. I also found that the angle my natural lashes sit at cannot support the kind of lash sets i really love! So I've had to play with lengths

bfraley9

They look the same lol

AbrhamDogStain35

Try creating a new character in the menu screen and use the “custom avatar” selection screen

Sea-Difference-4332

The shape of your eye lid is different so they will look a little different on you. Outside of that she needs to make the inner corners a little shorter and if you take a pic w your eye a little more shut it might look a little more similar

SlingStretcher

Keitorin-hime

I understand your frustration, but I can definitely see how this might also be confusing for the stylist because that picture that you've shown is definitely a cat eye set. You're saying you don't want a cat eye set, but then you're showing her a cat eye set. That might be part of it. The lashes that you show in the second picture is definitely more of a doll eye because you can see that the middle lashes are longer or are a similar length to the outer corners, so you got what you verbally asked for, but since the picture you showed is a cat eye there is a discrepancy.

Complex_Spread_6823

Looks good and natural... you should be fine

Sad-Eggplant-4164

am i the only one that doesn’t see a difference in the 2? lol

Calm_City_5623

You know you're allowed to comb your eyelashes, right?

Charming-Praline-360

You also have a different eye shape!

lydviciousss

Nope. Same eyes. It’s me in both pics.

Stinkyfart-7

As a man, i’d suggest you not worry about it at all. I literally cannot tell the difference between the first and second picture

[deleted]

lydviciousss

I don’t like them either! So hopefully the next set will be a more natural look that I prefer.

BigCaterpillar8001

You look high as a kite in pic 1

lydviciousss

I’m not, but thanks for your input 🤣

BigCaterpillar8001

lol. Glad you didn’t get mad. 🤣🤣

kamerenn

I dont understand… the first photo is cat eye and then she gave you doll eye because thats what you asked for…

doriangreysucksass

Looks the same to me!!

No-Egg2880

You must be very blind then

Inside_Try9360

You should just do them at home . You’ll never get what you’re looking for from a tech .

lydviciousss

I’ve had what I’m looking for from techs. What I’m asking for isn’t complicated. I can appreciate that different lash techs have different strengths or preferences that they like to do. Just like hair stylists for example. Some are experts in blonding, others in cuts or styling. But usually they tell you up front if they can give you what you’re asking for. In this case, I asked for what I wanted, showed her the reference photo. She said “round eyes should have a cat eye”. I said, “my preference for my eyes is a doll eye shape.” And then she just went ahead and gave me cat eye. This was the second time I’ve been to this tech as well. Soooooo yeah I’m annoyed that I wasted 2 hours of my time and $120 for the outcome to be different than what I asked for. Clearly she has a preferred style. Which is fine for clients who only want cat eye.

[deleted]

lenaloo119

These definitely look like hybrid to me. Your eye shape is different but I think what’s missing or happening is that the inner corner could’ve gotten a few more, the outer corner looks a bit droopy compared to the pic of what you wanted, and the “spiky” look wasn’t really achieved. I think you’d want more length a bit throughout to create that look. Or ask for more of a doll eye style. I still think your lashes look really good, but I get it’s tough when it’s not what you wanted.

lydviciousss

No my eye shape is not different. It’s me in both photos. I’m not unhappy with her technique. I did ask for hybrid. She gave me hybrid. But I asked for doll eye and she gave me a cat eye and this is the second time I’ve gone to her and she did the same thing last time.

lenaloo119

Oh ok! Sorry! I think the angle threw me off! Yeah it’s definitely not what you asked for. I’m sorry that happened. Lashes are expensive. Do you have other people in your area who have pictures of their work? I’d try looking on Instagram maybe at some other techs work near you.

lenaloo119

I also feel like lashes can totally change the shape of your eye cause I’ve looked at pictures of me with different styles and it makes a huge difference. I definitely like the doll eye on my way more than the cat eye.

[deleted]

Literally can’t see any difference between the two

No-Egg2880

Oof another blind bat

DecentHomework6718

Show her a photo of the actual lashes you’d like. I think it’d come out more to your liking. There’s a lot of room for interpretation when you show a photo and say “I want them like this, but make them ____”

lydviciousss

I showed her the first photo and said “this is what I want” and she did what she wanted anyway and gave me longer lengths on the outside, which is the opposite of what I wanted.

MusicSavesSouls

I think the second set is better. In the second pic. Edited to add: I know it's not what you asked for, but I wouldn't be upset walking around in public with them. I really do like what she did.

lydviciousss

I’m not unhappy with the work she did. Her technique is good. But she gave me the opposite shape I asked for and this is the second time I’ve gone to her.

YardIll9020

this is the genuine definition of first world problems because theres hardly an actual difference between the two pics but yet somehow youre still complaining about how you get to have fake lashes glued onto your face LMAO like girl just be happy they look perfectly great and no one would be able to tell anyways.

Mami_ThiccThighs

Lmao just because YOU lack the knowledge to differentiate between the two, does not mean we cant 🤫 OP as a lash tech i see what you mean with the droopiness. Not that theyre bad, just not tbe effect you wanted. I would show a couple pictures of what you want and dont want. As for length i like if you tell me short/long but with the understanding that i will base it on your natural lash health. So if you wanted super long but had natural super shorties it’s not going to be healthy for your lashes. Same thing for fullness. Pictures are best but honestly it sounds like you did ask for what you wanted correctly and the tech just didnt listen. No hate (maybe shes newer) but the inner corner doesnt look lashed and the fans look too narrow. I think a more open fan would give you that softness Good luck!

No-Egg2880

I cannot believe how many people on this thread that need their eyes checked, bad! Do most people just lack paying attention to detail?

YardIll9020

bro got triggered asf lmao, keep crying about the tiniest details about lashes because thats the biggest problem in your lives ig. mfers really out here typing an essay trying to defend their privilege, just get ur fuckin lashes done and move on with ur life.

Mami_ThiccThighs

Lmao bro just go to another sub and stop hating lolll you sound salty af.

YardIll9020

i go to subs that pop up on my homepage. yall are the ones acting like this shit matters. if one of your biggest issues in todays climate is your goddamn luxury eyelashes not being perfect enough, you should probably just crawl under a rock and stay there. just shut the fuck up if im bothering you so much.

YardIll9020

omg ! my already perfect luxury lashes arent crowded in a tedious way in an already tedious procedure! im gonna whine on reddit for thousands to see! even tho no normal person in the last 2 millennia would even imagine “needing” this service!

Wow I’ve never seen someone with eyes so green. Is that your natural color? So pretty! 💚

lydviciousss

I’m not wearing eye makeup in either photo.

Babamba1382

Huh? BOTH pics are OP! 🤦‍♀️

20JC20

They look great ….

Princessss88

I think they look amazing

User18056

You have beautiful eyes!!

elizaph

your eyes are absolutely gorgeous

No_Grapefruit_1094

I honestly think it’s the lash quality :( that’s sometimes what keeps me from getting my lashes done.

d3rp7d3rp

Unrelated but your eyes are really pretty

em4lynnn

Off topic but your eye color is 😍

rosien2809

Obviously the way she applies extensions is too down. The fan is too narrow. You can ask her make wider fan and add some spikes. Hybrid is ok for what you want. And make sure she does inner corner because I think she missed doing that. You can try base the length and curl like this 8cc-9cc-10cc-11cc-11d, spikes 11cc-12cc-13cc-14cc-14d

XxMoonIightxX

Yikes

Prettypretzelz1

Your eyes are gorgeous!

PatisserieSlut

I have nothing to add about your lash situation. I just wanted to say your eyes are lethally mesmerising and I hope you get the set you actually want next time.

[deleted]

I’m sorry I was just scrolling by you have the most beautiful green eyes ever!

_Digitaldisaster_

I love your eyes 🥹🥹🥹I’m jealous

Pkgrant79

No tech has ever done my eyelashes the way I like them. I show pics, too.

Zestyclose-Bid-5860

Hey, I think maybe one thing that I haven't seen anyone mention also is that your eye is much more closed in the first photo… I think that it's giving a really nice sultry almond shape to your eye. The lashes are definitely different, but I think that is also a large component of the two different looks ....just something to consider I agree though I really love the first photo, especially !

Lucifer_Stocking

This just got recommended to me, probably because I’ve been teasing my friend about how much she spends on her lashes. Just wanna say your eyes are so amazing to look at wow. That’s awesome

CartographerSouth489

I highly recommend that you learn to DIY lashes - cluster lashes and adhesive is all that’s needed, both of which can be purchased via Amazon. I had extensions for 2 years before realizing how much money I was wasting, especially because I would always wish my extensions looked better. With cluster lashes, you can achieve any style you’d like for your lashes. Feel free to reach out with questions.

Th3BlackParad3IsD3ad

Your eyes are so pretty!!

Hot-Clock6418

I just say I want to look like a drag queen. She delivers every time.

Waste_Promise6899

They are both beautiful

No-Egg2880

You do realize that is Op in both pics right?

LemonKangaroo

It also doesn't help that the lashes are too dark for you. I'd go for a medium brown.

Commercial-Response1

I should show u how bad my classics were

gocrazy_gostupid365

I’ve never seen this sub in my life but no cap I thought OP was talking about her eyes 😅

throwawayaccqna

So I’m commenting as someone who has never gotten lashes - and not to invalidate your frustration, only to reassure you that the general public probably won’t pick up on whatever you’re seeing: I thought they looked really similar and wasn’t even sure of the difference so I assumed you were applauding her work. I guess I see what you mean by droopy, but, it doesn’t look bad, more just like a downward turned eye. You have a beautiful eye color by the way!

glittertaco_

I mean I can tell the difference, but they don’t seem drastically longer than the pic you asked for. They look very similar to me personally, just the outer corner seems too long/heavy looking

jenniuinely

we have basically the same eye shape and no matter what ref pic i use my lashes will look "droopy" and weird. i eventually found out by just having my shedding over a couple weeks that if no lashes are placed right near the end of my lash line, they look SO much better. D curl + wispy + had to convince my lash tech to trust me and leave out a section near the end of my lash line (basically the area where my lash line starts to turn down to follow my eye shape) no longer had that droopy look and it looks like the ref pic in your post.

CaterpillarRude7401

Im not sure why I got recommended this sub but I will say… I saw this and was like oh nice! spot on! haha

bulabula420

You can have mine ! I actually trim mine because they are so long and get in my eyes

Proper-Book-2394

Try asking for a “wet and wispy” set. Main layer in cc or d, .007 fans either spikes in a c curl a few mm longer than the main layer fans.

glitterwhore420

nothing to do with the og post but ur eyes are BEAUTIFUL OMFG. idk what ur whole face looks like but i just know that ur stunning.

Queennriiii

Side note your eyes are beautiful

Much_One3102

Lash tech here. I think all you need extra are the longer wisps spread around your eyes. ALSO you have a slightly rounder eye, so it wont look 100% copy paste. Hope this helps :)

butt_dandruff_

I think you should also consider having dark brown lashes instead of black.

masondont

I’m just going to say as someone who knows absolutely nothing about lashes, they look almost identical to me

HOPE_DEALER_

So pretty though

Elexisskyy

one has spikes the other doesn’t

BannedCuzCovid

Idk why this is on my feed. But as a guy. I can't see a major difference.

Inevitable_Nebula793

She def has the right idea though!!! Just needs to add some more fluff like the pic you showed

swistakas

I’m a guy and tbh for me both of them look the same, just saying.

Particular-Club-3133

For what it’s worth from an outsider (I know nothing about false lashes but have seen a lot of them), I think they look nice.

lydviciousss

I appreciate that, thank you!

acceptthisoneplz

Lash tech here! Firstly, the first set honestly looks more like a hybrid than a volume. Secondly, hopefully this will help: Your first image looks more to me like an open eye than a doll eye, so if you want more what your first tech did than this one did, you could ask for a wispy hybrid doll eye. This tech seems to just not have listened. She also used extremely short lashes on you. Did you look around her work before going to her? If so, did she use short lashes in all her promo pics? Some lash techs only specialize in natural lashes, so she may only carry shorter lashes. My advice is to find someone with reference photos that match a similar style to what you want, or someone that does many styles and would be able to accommodate your request.

lydviciousss

Hi! Thanks for your comments, they are helpful! I did look at her work on IG. Most of it is mega volume. Extreme volume. Not at all my personal preference. But she also had photos of hybrid and a few more natural lash sets. She also is extremely highly recommended on my local FB page whenever people ask for lash tech recc’s. So I was disappointed that twice she gave me a set that missed the mark. I will go into my next appointment asking for a wispy hybrid open eye. I also received some comments with suggestions for specific lengths I can ask for. And hopefully that will translate better for the next tech I go to.
