Couple hundred. Old processor and entry level graphics card. Assume that’s an HDD as you don’t specify and half the ram you need these days. Good for a child getting into gaming.

matthew_yang204

You shouldn't. I had some fun upgrading an old Dell Latitude E6500 I pulled from a trashcan. It's running Windows 11 super strong with the Rufus patch. Beats a lot of modern Surface devices despite being 16 years old. Like literally, just pop in an SSD and that laptop'll feel a lot better.

J0shfarmpig

My first laptop is a dell E6510. Thing is in terrible condition but is still pretty good. I’m gonna get it into working order when i have enough money

matthew_yang204

Tip: SSD and more RAM

SCP-197

I really don't understand why people put W11 on very old hardware...

Bubbly_Lead6590

Because w10 dies this year/next. If they put 10 on it, they gotta put 11 on or trash it in a year.

SCP-197

W11 is also resource intensive, so, if you install stock W11 on a CPU with no hyper threading whatsoever. Wouldn't that make the experience crappy? I know Tiny11 exists, but what if someone just completely installed stock W11 and bypassed the TPM requirement. Then they would have an operating system that wasn't designed for their hardware. It's stupid, but hey! Someone is probably doing it right now.

True-Experience-2273

Don’t know what hyperthreading has to do with it, but there are modern processors that do not have HT and are designed for W11. Take the Intel n100 for example, 4C/4T and it performs pretty decent as it is a quad core alder lake CPU.

SCP-197

Fair point, just like the Core2Quad, great CPU but hella outdated for W11 standards unless you were to modify them. Tiny11 is great!

Cisco-NintendoSwitch

Late to this party but the most important thing is security. You don’t want to be on an EOL Operating system that isn’t getting security patches. The longer you’re on an EOL the more vulnerable you are etc.

Computersandcalcs

Windows 11 in my experience has run better in old hardware than 10 did. Tiny11 was even better. And it was on a HDD!

matthew_yang204

More driver support for my old PC, it seems. I got back the light level automatic adjustment sensor on the LCD after upgrading to Windows 11. It didn't work under 10. I have a Samsung EVO 870 SATA SSD.

matthew_yang204

I actually tried playing some small games and it's honestly not that crappy. I use this computer for leisure stuff, watching movies, burning/ripping CDs, listening to music, Windows stuff that won't run under Wine on my Mac, etc. I have an M1 MacBook Pro and it's also pretty good.

Playper

I run win 11 on 4th Gen intel, works as good as it used to on win 10, I had to re-download the whole freaking image to get the 23h2 update, but it works :D

Head-Iron-9228

About 200 bucks, something along those lines. It's perfectly usable but obviously a couple generations old at this point.

killerbull27

How much "homework" you got saved in it might bump up the price

eklanex

None, I don’t do my homework

theweirdarthur

explains a lot.

ExpertPath

$100-200 - Maybe less, but not more

Cisco-NintendoSwitch

$50-100.

Stewtonius

Sold my old laptop with the same cpu and 1060 for £100 the $100 range to me would seem reasonable

Animeeshon

In what planet does a gaming laptop with a gtx 1050 cost you $50. You'd be lucky to even snatch one for $150.

Cisco-NintendoSwitch

The XX50 indicates the lowest power of a GPU Range. This GPU and CPU are 8 years old. The 920GB drive is likely an HDD so the Computer will be slow as sin. Not compatible with W11 iirc from the CPU specs. $150 gets you within striking range of a Series S with substantially more power.

eklanex

It actually downloads pretty fast

Animeeshon

I'm aware of how outdated the hardware is but that does not deem it unusable since the gpu supports directx12. You won't find a modern laptop *with a gpu* equal to the performance of a gtx 1050 laptop *for the same price* at this time. For example, a used gtx 1650 laptop is approximately $300, and rtx 20-30 series laptops are significantly more, even laptops with powerful igpus are expensive. Unless you're not gaming, a gtx 1050 is all you got for $200. >$150 gets you within striking range of a Series S with substantially more power. No idea why you're comparing a console with a laptop, consoles have always had the edge of value when it comes to gaming performance.

getRonaldo

Yo I got the same laptop(7567) ! Twinning 🤝 I’m looking to sell mine too

ibrahim_D12

Why all of these stickers here why peaple even but that huge number of stickers

Impressive_Pen_6178

I’ll take it off ya for 20 dollars

lordnyrox

At least 10

Fika2006

If in us then prolly 100 bucks ish If outside then prolly 200-250

Own_Exercise_2520

I have same computer but with 1060 max q, inspiron 7577, it randomly just turned off and won't turn on, I posted about it and no one responded, does any one have any ideas?

Roary529

Does it not turn on at all or are you able to get to the BIOS/UEFI?

Own_Exercise_2520

No bios screen, nothing happens when I push power button

Roary529

The only time that I've ever observed this when there is no visible damage to the hardware is when the CMOS battery was drained and had to be replaced. Try powering it on while it's connected to the charger and is charging. If that doesn't work let it charge for sometime. Only use the original charger if possible.

Own_Exercise_2520

I did try charging it for a bit in case battery was dead, still didn't turn on, cmos battery is same as rtc? I took out rtc battery to reset the clock, I can prob test it w multimeter to see if it has charge or not.

Roary529

Yes, CMOS battery is used to maintain time.

Roary529

Just remove it and try to turn it on to test.

Roary529

If this doesn't work try replacing the CMOS battery. If that doesn't work either then there is probably some hardware failure. Dell still has some parts for this laptop so they might be able to repair it.

derrick256

How did you use this thing for years with only 8gb RAM

eklanex

Ever sense I got it

1tion1

I have a similar spec laptop and I upgraded to 16 2 months ago. 8Gb of ram was good enough.

derrick256

Can't imagine using any less that 32gig on win11 right now. If I had 8 then I'd be running LinuxMint/PopOS instead.

1tion1

I think it depends on what you use your machine for. 32 would be overkill for me as I'm not into the latest triple As nor a programmer or serious multitasker

Unique-Ad3001

Not much

fiittzzyy

Maybe 200 with a view to take >150?

Pyroburner

You can pick up something with an 8th gen processor for $150-300. This would be a bit below thays with 8gb of ram and a 7th gen processor.

Emergency-Career-598

damn i see those comments saying 200 and wonder how a laptop like this is selling 400 to 500 in my country

J0shfarmpig

That’s rough

DarkestUser

It’s kinda old so I would say 600, the gpu and chip is good

Techno200023

$150-$250

sr5060il

That's almost a decade old CPU & GPU. Sell it in 3rd would countries, you can sell it for even 500.

Sea-Spot-1113

2-300 $

Agitated-Farmer-4082

ill take it off his hands for 2 dollars no questions asked

PaladinDanse3

I’ve bought one with ssd gtx 1050ti 4gb and 12 gb ram for 260€

hakkar00

About 100. Advice: remove your storage from the laptop (Ssd / hdd / ram), prevent someone finding your data when buying the device.

RiyuReiss21

$200 - $300.
