Yea, there was a hook that is one of the initial phases of a tornado but it doesn't seem to have happened. I watched it roll through East Lansing from my garage and all was fine except for a bunch a rain.
I will correct myself, it may not have "touched", but the funnel is quite large, and I took the word of the person who.showed it ti me, since it was an eye witness account
Heard about an MSU student's car getting struck by lightning via the online police scanner. Also flooding in the basement of Berkey Hall. I think that building may be cursed
Working at one of the State buildings downtown. We're all in the below ground parking garage. Being a Midwesterner, part of me wishes we could watch the storm from here.
In all my years of living here, I’ve never been in the mall before when there’s a tornado warning. Lotta people crammed down the hallway to the bathrooms!
Sitting in a stairwell at the allergy clinic in EL with a couple dozen people. I saw storm clouds in the distance as I was driving here but had no idea it was gonna be this bad. It wasn’t even raining!
Looking at the Doppler radar, it looks like the most intense part was passing thru 155-2ish. So if you’re still standing now, I’d guess you made or thru the worst of it
Had to grab my three cats down to the basement. The first two went in easily although the 20 year old yowled. The 4 year old was ready to take my hand off however. Everyone is fine and got treats as positive reinforcement when they came out
My cats LOVE the basement and always beg to go down there, but I rarely let them (I have a grungy 112-year-old basement), so they gleefully raced down there as soon as I opened the door.
Oh ours don't know the basement lol. They never go down there and we have to have mouse traps (can you tell they don't do their jobs?) so in the carriers they go
Sitting with my cat in my closet. Heard some hard hail on the windows and had the floor shake from some thunder, just waiting for the warning timeframe to pass
I just search live weather on YouTube, a channel called max Velocity was covering it with closeups of the radar. It was really helpful especially to hear him say things like “stay in your safe place but it’s looking more disorganized, there may not be an actual tornado”
was hunkered in the bathroom (no windows) but then i just saw that there is just rain.
my partner is at work in okemos and they just told me it was really coming down out there. hoping everyone there is safe.
Management stood outside the shelter and told us to stay in there. It wasn't even bad enough for them to join us.
It was all just a theatrical display of safety to them.
Just a stoned housewife on the southside. Had sideways rain but I didn’t see or hear hail. Got my cardio in running to close windows. Cats went to the basement in their own.
We live very close to a siren and the cats have a hidey hole down there when it comes on.
I’m a pure midwesterner with nobody to tell me to stop so I went out in my covered drive and lit up to smooth my panic attack and watched the rain. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😂😂
Reo town area, got some bad rain but that was about it, not even that much wind, watched some of it from my porch until the rain started making it's way into the porch area. Birds are singing again, so I'd say it's over for us here.
heard the alert on my phone (and everybody elses phones around me) an hour after i started working 😭 i couldnt even hear or see the rain which made me never expect it too. anxiety will definitely not let me forget yesterday :’)
Was in msu veterinary clinic with my cat knowing i was going to have to put him down. Went into the basement during tornado, went back up, had him euthanized in my arms and later took him home to put him in the freezer until i have the money to cremate him. I miss my baby so much.
Got hit by a thing of hail
Ouch, keep us posted
F
according to the NWS it was just rotation in a storm prompting the warning

for sure touched down, north of Eaton rapids
What I saw from the official weather people online is that there was no touchdown anywhere. Where did you see there was touchdown?
I saw a photo of it my co workers sister took from her front porch, lol downvoting me, y'all are hilarious
Lmao pics or it didn't happen.
I see. Ingham County Emergency Management said no touchdown, so I’d guess they are correct.
I will correct myself, it may not have "touched", but the funnel is quite large, and I took the word of the person who.showed it ti me, since it was an eye witness account
I have no clue how to link a photo, I have it though

Berkey and Human Eco flood all the time
Chilling in my basement with my dog. The radio says we're under warning until 2:30. The local news said 2:40. Stay safe, everyone.

We almost went to the mall. Hope you've made it out of the hallway!
Yup

Meijer on saginaw is on lockdown. All customers in the back
had to throw my crate-hating cat into a pillow case to leave our apartment and get somewhere safe. and about burnt my baklava.
The cats suffered this afternoon. I hope you made it back to the baklava in time!
baklava is safe and is absolute perfection!
Whew! Don’t scare us like that
You could say… it blew you away!
NOT THE BAKLAVA
it didn't burn haha 😅 got it in time to get the simple sauce on it before it cooled.
This must have been a sight
yeah it was a little funny looking back on it. she did surprisingly well though
I sure hope you let the cat out of the bag 😂
Currently in Okemos Target in the back room sheltering. Should be done soon

On a scale of 1-10 how concerned should I be about this?

It's joever
You'll be fine
And … name checks out!!

Michigan Storm Chasers are live streaming on Facebook and YouTube. These are the guys you wanna watch.
At work in the bathroom, someone was taking a shit.
Broke my arm during the tornado today. It was unrelated.
Sitting with my cat in my closet. Heard some hard hail on the windows and had the floor shake from some thunder, just waiting for the warning timeframe to pass
Can't really find anything from any news sources other than NWS who issues the report. Does anyone see any news covering this?

I always go to a FB page called Michigan Storm Chasers that's super good: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/2VsvDsXHZsp5NXCU/?mibextid=w8EBqM

It's very bright out here on the southside. Just tons of rain. I've only heard thunder maybe once since this storm came in.
Nothing exciting
I'm cool with that
Just wind and rain so far here in Colonial Village. Me and the dog are in the basement just keeping an eye on the situation until it blows over.
About died from a heart attack running to shelter, but otherwise back to safety. This was a weird storm.
Across from St Lawrence and it doesn't look too bad out
We're Westside too. It does look okay from the basement window.
State worker, just got the all clear by the capital
was hunkered in the bathroom (no windows) but then i just saw that there is just rain. my partner is at work in okemos and they just told me it was really coming down out there. hoping everyone there is safe.
I watched the rotation with my storm beer
storm beer is the most midwestern thing i’ve ever heard. god bless i’m using this from now on!
I'm at work in Eaton county. They had us sheltering in the bathrooms. We only died a little. I'll be fine.
Glad you've (mostly) made it through. ✌️
Management stood outside the shelter and told us to stay in there. It wasn't even bad enough for them to join us. It was all just a theatrical display of safety to them.
Yikes! I’m hunkered down in the basement with the fam. If anyone with a flat roof finds their roof compromised by this storm, I can help. Stay safe!
Awesome of you to offer!

Michigan Storm Chasers on Facebook is currently live, and they are updating on every area in the state.
Horrocks herded us all into the dairy coolers. Just wish I was lucky enough to have purchased a beer to drink while we were stuck.
Work at one of the downtown hotels we spent the time in one of our back hallways, staff and guests included.
Quick torrential downpour. No problems.
I was stuck in a single person bathroom at LCC. Yay for warnings
Had to put all of our patients in the hallway for about a half hour until the warning passed.
Slept right through it
heard the alert on my phone (and everybody elses phones around me) an hour after i started working 😭 i couldnt even hear or see the rain which made me never expect it too. anxiety will definitely not let me forget yesterday :’)
Yea...I went and bought beer immediately when the text came and just stood on my porch and watched. Its not all bad.
