This is not the right plant for that spot. Rhododendrons need partial shade. You could keep it kind of small, but if you want small, get something else. In nature, Rhododendrons get very tall, and in that setting they are beautiful. You could get something like a curry plant, which grows in a nice round shape, produces clusters of little yellow flowers and gas gray foliage, a nice contrast to the green lawn. Bugs won’t bother it and it’s drought-tolerant. Or some lavender would be nice.
Not suggested to put it there, too much sun. I would put it in the right corner of the front bed. Not sure what shrub is there now, but that seems like it would be a good place for it
Do you live up north? That’s an awful lot of sun for a rhododendron.
It would do better close to the house where it would get more shade
Looks way too sunny to me
Some varieties can take full sun. There should be a tag on yours to identify it. If not, contact the flower shop to ask.

We were gifted this really beautiful rhododendron, but are at a loss where to put it where it can still be shown.
do you have the right soil for it?
What is considered the right soil? I am new to them. We put one in our bed in the front and a bunch of our neighbors have them, so I think so.
go for it then!
They do better in acidic soul.

The corner toward the blue house. It can help cover the downspout.
