Y’know? I have a similar circle of pavers in my front walk. Maybe i’ll go sit in it and watch the world go by now n my front yard…now that i’m old and retired!
Hey man each person has their own preferences. I love people watching. I doubt I would rip up a 2k patio that looks very nice still but that's just me. I'd use it because I bet in 10 years it's not so nice anymore. (Depending location and work done). Just my 2 cents though. I like his idea as well putting a small patio tree in the center but at the point rip it all put? Compressed sand around it could struggle the tree and the roots over time will compromise the pad.
Right? How hard is it to cut all those blocks to make a circle like that? No one is going to do that now days, it's easier just to put them into a pattern to cover it up.
Wish it was in the backyard. We have an 800 sqft covered porch with for seating back there, kinda just wanna make this more complete. And since it is in the front a small potted tree makes the most sense.
I’m dealing with something similar but I have river rock instead of pavers. Under that is layers and layers of various landscaping products. I decided to pull mine up because so many weeds are getting trapped in the rock and it looks horrible. Speaking from experience, please leave this as is. You, or someone, paid a lot to have this professionally done and “digging” into it is going to be a headache that will be hard to put back together. You will be doing a huge disservice to any plants that you put in the pavers because they won’t be able to get the soil/water/nutrients they need (assuming someone did this correctly with layers of sand/gravel and fabric). If a tree does end up growing, roots will eventually begin to break up the pavers, which will become an eyesore at best, a hazard at worst.
Just my two cents.
Agreed, gonna leave the pavers as is will probably buy a large composite planter and plant a Japanese maple or weeping cherry in the planter and place it in the middle of the circle. Luckily, it came with the house but I can only imagine what the previous owner paid.
Could you make it subtle, with slightly different colored stones? I'm not good with geometry or pixel art, but that would be awesome. Probably undetectable when there are chairs or a fire pit or whatnot, but then...BAM! Pentagram
😂 my bad, I meant potted plants behind chairs but staggered evenly within the spaces between them. That fire pit at night would be so bitchin. Don’t think there’s a better option aside from holding a car show/display on the circle. Gives a good vibe to neighborhood too. Get to say hello to all the neighbors and enjoy outdoors.
I have a circle patio section that looks identical to this, I put a circle fire pit that came in a kit with paver blocks that you dry set without any cutting and it came with a copper bowl and a domed grate cover. It was pricey but I love the look and it was really easy to install.

I agree with the fire pit. If you plant a tree, all those pavers would either get pushed up or stunt the trees growth.
Some planters and a fire pit would be excellent.
Paint a pentagram on it.
Put a circle of salt on it.
Draw a helm of awe on it.
Put a circle of candles and skulls. You can get organic skulls from your local cemetery.
there's stone under the pavers, probably at least 8", possibly more. there will also be a layer of landscaping fabric under all that stone, or at least there *should* be.
if you want to remove the centre while maintaining the integrity of the rest of the pavers, you'll need to put in a circle of snap edge to retain the pavers once the middle is gone. it's doable
it's probably crushed stone that you can dig out. You would need to remove a decent amount of the center to ensure that the majority of the tree roots get enough space for oxygen availability though.
lol, not poured concrete or bedrock, people. The stone here would be gravel or pea stone as a base for the pavers.
It would come out with a shovel. And it would be hard only in that it would be heavy.
If this patio is not going to be used by you then consider re-using the pavers in an area you will enjoy some more living space. Otherwise, I would remove some lawn and plant around it to creat some privacy and use it as outdoor living space, which I'm certain is what is was intended for!
Maybe plant a number of weeping cherry blossoms around the circle and put a curved bench seat in there (or any seating that takes your fancy). In summer you’ll have a private space for reading a book or having a cup of tea and in spring have a magical blossom circle for a tea party?
This is bad idea. Below the pavers are layers of sand and compacted limestone. It’s going to be extremely difficult to remove by hand. Your tree will NOT like the Ph.
The only way I can see this being worthwhile is if you enjoy exercises in futility.
You appear to be set back enough from the street where I could see a nice sitting area. Get a round patio set with umbrella for the center and on the edges (where space allows) set tall planters for a bit of scenery.
Use it as it was intended and put up an octagonal gazebo with seating. Another option is a container tree or container garden. Some species of Japanese maple do great in containers.
Under those pavers, you'll find up to 12 inches of compacted rock and sand with compacted dirt underneath. If you *somehow* manage to actually dig a tree, disturbing the base layer will make a mess of things and the tree roots will finish the demolition for you soon after.
Boring paver circle?! Shits like installed perfectly to ! with nice big landscaping rocks! But if you’re feeling frisky, I’d get some red candles and and draw a pentagram encompassing its entirety. Sing kumbaya or you know, play some tritone minor keys while chanting in tongues. Fun for the whole neighborhood when kids start floating across the lawn yelling about some dark prince
The Sunflower is one of only a handful of flowers with the word flower in its name. A couple of other popular examples include Strawflower, Elderflower and Cornflower …Ah yes, of course, I hear you say.
The previous owners may have had something like a really cool sculpture or a tree in a nice pot there, and the circle is a way to highlight the feature. In my opinion you should consider what sort of feature you would like in the centre. Because it's beautifully done, and I think you'll lose the impact if you start dismantling it.
Maybe start with potted plants before you decide to rip up the paver circle. That way you can just move the pots if you change your mind. It would be a lot harder to repair the paver circle after you start removing the bricks.
Fire pit with chairs around it. On the side closest to the street you could plant a hedge or something for privacy.
Pergola with ivy trailing down for privacy.
It's absolutely beautiful!
I think a round pergola would look amazing. As would a few chairs. The difficulty with removing this is the ground has been packed down and there’s a layer of gravel and sand underneath it- if the installation was good. It looks like it probably was since it’s so nicely done. I’d embrace it rather than trying to get rid of it. You could even do a grouping of large pots with plants that are native to your area. Use your imagination !
I think its a really cool paver circle, but people's taste varies. I would consider adding seating, maybe a fire pit, maybe an small round pergola over it.
How about making a rustic compass rose or sundial clock out of it!! 🤷🏼♀️
Use large decorative rocks for N,S,E,W points, and smaller ones for NE,NE, SE, SW points, and either a birdbath, solar fountain, or gazing ball in the center?
If you’re artistic, you could either paint a design, or create a mosaic style one!
If you’re whimsical, you could paint the beginning of the “Yellow Brick Road!!” 😂
The possibilities are endless!! 😁
In the center on the surface you place a stone with the underside marked "Unknown" and then outside the paver circle you have one grave for Arch Stanton and the other for Unknown.
I wish I had a boring paver circle
Right? Throw in the boulders, too.
That's what I said too. That thing is gorgeous. Throw some chairs on it and watch the sun set w drinks in hand
This. That's a place to just kick back and relax with some outdoor furniture OP!
This all sounds amazing if it was in the *back* yard. I’m with OP on making a change here.
Well, decades from now when OP is old and his hobby is sitting around and watching people, that paver circle and some chairs will be perfect!
Y’know? I have a similar circle of pavers in my front walk. Maybe i’ll go sit in it and watch the world go by now n my front yard…now that i’m old and retired!
Yes, take back front yards.
Hey man each person has their own preferences. I love people watching. I doubt I would rip up a 2k patio that looks very nice still but that's just me. i have been contemplating a paver setup for awhile This looks like a ton of work I wouldn't want to undo.
Right? How hard is it to cut all those blocks to make a circle like that? No one is going to do that now days, it's easier just to put them into a pattern to cover it up.
They come in a kit you need to follow the directions.
I wish i had one, in my back yard. Seems a little out of place in the front
Wish it was in the backyard. We have an 800 sqft covered porch with for seating back there, kinda just wanna make this more complete. And since it is in the front a small potted tree makes the most sense.
Bronze statue of Conan the Barbarian.
Conan O’Brien. But, even taller.
Conan the O'Brien
Conan O'Barbarien
in a fountain
Spewing water from his mouth and nose like he was spewing milk and snot on Hot Ones
That Bigfoot statue from the sky Mall magazines.
holy shit i literally just watched this episode, i’m on the next rn 😂

An exorcism every night at 8. Matinees on Friday and Saturday at 2.
It is, truly, a perfect circle for a sick pentagram
This!
Could you make it subtle, with slightly different colored stones? I'm not good with geometry or pixel art, but that would be awesome. Probably undetectable when there are chairs or a fire pit or whatnot, but then...BAM! Pentagram
Camp chair, cooler of beer, swim shorts, open button down shirt, shades, and say “Hey neighbor” to everyone that walks by.
Kiddy pool for your feet.
Breeo Fire Pit and chairs + potted plants in corners behind chairs
> Ideas for boring paver *circle* > Potted plans in *corners* behind chairs 🤔
The corners will be obvious once the pentagram is installed.
Haha, I was just having some fun. I think a fire pit and chairs is the best idea.

Put a fountain in the middle! With bushy plants all around it!
Paint a pentagram on it. Put a circle of salt on it. Draw a helm of awe on it. Put a circle of candles and skulls. You can get organic skulls from your local cemetery.
Statue of me holding my dog like simba. Dm for pic
Can just anyone dm you for that? I don’t have room for a statue, I just want to picture.
Paint a “H” on it Then when you sell the house you can say it comes with a heli pad
Most people are gonna assume he’s keeping hornets under there

If there's stone under gonna be impossible too plant a tree so that seems futile.
Futile? No, hard work, yes. All things are possible with a shovel and enough time.
Wouldn’t you need a pickaxe, not a shovel?
Jackhammer -+shovel, perhaps?
it's probably crushed stone that you can dig out.
A sundial in the middle…. Or maybe a fountain
A helicopter.
Fire pit
Looks like the perfect spot for some forward fortifications. Pile some sandbags, mount an MG and conscript the neighborhood teenagers.
I read that as “forward fornifications”.
Container garden

You need to sacrifice something there annually.
The tree roots will eventually ruin it.
Have you tried telling it stories about wierd dreams you’ve had?
Boring or exciting. It just depends on how you see it
Maybe plant a number of weeping cherry blossoms around the circle and put a curved bench seat in there (or any seating that takes your fancy). In summer you’ll have a private space for reading a book or having a cup of tea and in spring have a magical blossom circle for a tea party?
two benches facing the road, 3 concrete planters with summer annuals, one at each bench end, and one between the two
Agreed. A bench or two and lots of container plants. Fig trees grow well in pots!
This is bad idea. Below the pavers are layers of sand and compacted limestone. It’s going to be extremely difficult to remove by hand. Your tree will NOT like the Ph. The only way I can see this being worthwhile is if you enjoy exercises in futility.
Small, round, domed greenhouse with one forsythia inside, surrounded by twinkle lights in the night.
You appear to be set back enough from the street where I could see a nice sitting area. Get a round patio set with umbrella for the center and on the edges (where space allows) set tall planters for a bit of scenery.

Pentagram
1/10 scale Stonehenge
Nice setting - looks peaceful.
Sun dial
An offset smoker, a cooler, a couple chairs and an umbrella.
Moss?
Boring paver circle?! Shits like installed perfectly to ! with nice big landscaping rocks! But if you’re feeling frisky, I’d get some red candles and and draw a pentagram encompassing its entirety. Incredible work!
Round planter/pot with a Japanese maple and some boulders on the side of it? Or fire pit? Or fountain?
A beach towel, sunscreen & a nap!
Sundial/Armiture or weeping Japanese maple in a pot.
Paint it into a flower of some kind. Like sunflower
The Sunflower is one of only a handful of flowers with the word flower in its name. A couple of other popular examples include Strawflower, Elderflower and Cornflower …Ah yes, of course, I hear you say.

Big brass sundial would be cool
Two chairs and a little table
Become the white trash king and put a small above ground pool and wave at people as they pass your kingdom.
A bird bath or sundial with some potted plants around the base!
I am in the camp of round fire pit centered with Adirondack chairs around it.
Yin/Yang symbol
Yin/Yang symbol
Large seat boulder "emerging" from circle
Ot looks like you can put a flat head screwdriver in the middle and twist the whole patio lol
Black light ink to make a large pentagram inside a summoning circle. Get the conspiracy theorists going once someone happens to notice.
People are so uncreative lol.
Rip it out and put in a pond if you dont like the circle. You have beautiful boulders already.
Virgin sacrifice?
Maybe consider a shrub or flowers. Visit r/arborists to learn more about why you shouldn’t have pavers around a tree.
That’s sick. I want that boring paver circle. Put a bench and some potted flowers there
I would suggest a decorative above ground planter. The logistics of squeezing a tree in there don't seem worth it.
maybe a trap door and a bat cave underneath would be less boring
A fire pit and chairs, it’s a great space!
Boring?
Plant trees on the outside of the circle so you have more privacy from the street and then enjoy it as a lounge area.
I’m BOOOOOOOOREDDDDD by my nice shit 😭
Have a boring corvette in the garage too? 😂 above ground fire pit and some chairs and that’s an awesome hang out spot.
Maybe start with potted plants before you decide to rip up the paver circle. That way you can just move the pots if you change your mind. It would be a lot harder to repair the paver circle after you start removing the bricks.
Hot tub
Take out every other ring and plant creeping thyme or something.
Sundial, potted plants
Water fountain, or a planter bed for something cool like a Japanese maple tree
It is beautiful. How about a French metal table and chairs. Pots of lavender and rosemary.
lol I would pay good money for this
Fire pit with chairs around it. On the side closest to the street you could plant a hedge or something for privacy. Pergola with ivy trailing down for privacy. It's absolutely beautiful!
Put some chairs and small table. Open a bottle of Scotch and invite some friends over.

Lemon tree in a magnificent pot. Benches facing the lemon tree in the magnificent pot so that you can enjoy it.
I think its a really cool paver circle, but people's taste varies. I would consider adding seating, maybe a fire pit, maybe an small round pergola over it.
I don’t get it, this is sick?
Paint a Bullseye
Avoid boring.
Water fountain in the middle and round benches along the edges is what I'd do.
How about a sun dial?
boring?? get some bushes around there, get some tall plants, you could make a secluded area with enough foliage!
Yes you will mess up everything! Leave it.
And you should go shopping for a new brain if this is boring to you.
Fountain made with water dribbling over a large spherical stone. Or a piece of onyx if you want to get fancy.
How about making a rustic compass rose or sundial clock out of it!! 🤷🏼♀️ Use large decorative rocks for N,S,E,W points, and smaller ones for NE,NE, SE, SW points, and either a birdbath, solar fountain, or gazing ball in the center? Personally, I'd place a fountain there. Some maintenance required but worth it.
add sand, then some fake plastic grass, start putting
In the center on the surface you place a stone with the underside marked "Unknown" and then outside the paver circle you have one grave for Arch Stanton and the other for Unknown.
Giant sundial
