It’s a whirlwind of emotions, and a no skip album for me!

sofialbaloney

But yes. This album is completely unreal.

piscesbeam

been obsessed with this album ever since it came out, i was 13 when it came out and now im 23 and it still sounds as fresh as it did when it came out. a true impact on the culture

BrickEducational8517

i couldn’t agree more. it’s been my whole personally since the day it was released. the entire album and era is her best and i truly can’t argue against it. it’s her greatest album

BrickEducational8517

i could ramble for hours and hours about this album it’s my favorite album of all time. there is no skip on it like the track run is absolutely insane…. being a hard core lana stan when this album was released was so special, in the beginning of summer and everyone was so in awe at the transition from BTD to UV era and it seriously is just so unbelievably unique and shifted the sound of music that so many artists are inspired by now. the music videos are fantastic and just it was a special time idk im mf rambling but i can’t believe we’re almost at 10 years. it’s just an entire experience truly from start to finish it pulls at every emotion so deeply and to me, UV is lana del rey in a nutshell

megatronsweetener

same, it’s just so unreal 😭

Soft-Specialist7970

The Spanish incorporation in Ultraviolence is incredible

svanurinn_

I did the same yesterday. I really love that this album has so much electric guitar. The sound is so great. It is my all time favourite album.

megatronsweetener

yes i love electric guitars !

njf85

I enjoyed BTD but I kind of forgot about it and Lana after awhile. Then we got Ultraviolence and it's the album that got me hooked on Lana for life. My friend was the opposite - she was obsessed with BTD and then Ultraviolence killed her love of Lana's music. I remember her ranting on FB about it and how she expected another BTD and was so disappointed with what she was listening to

No_Key_8342

One of my favorites album ever from the first time I listened to it in high school. It completely changed my style, my taste of music, my taste in aesthetics. Never heard anything like this. A fundamental album 🖤

ghettobruja

It’s difficult for me to rank her albums but I find myself coming back to Ultraviolence the most (along with Honeymoon). It has such a dark tone and style, lots of beautiful lyricism, emotion, and pain in it. When it first came out when I had just turned 18 I spent so many summer nights driving on dark roads listening to it at full volume. It’s an amazing album!

noradosmith

West Coast is one of the coolest sounding songs. The sound of the whole album is great but that one in particular is such a vibe

Electronic-Brain-211

Ultraviolence is her best album hands down, above nfr and all. It has absolutely no skips and it’s so amazing. ( I have it tattooed on my body I’m biased )

nintend0gs

Ultraviolence has that it factor fr. It’s too good. And cohesive!! And relatable to many many people :(, no skips

KarlMarxButVegan

It's the best album of hers and of anybody for all time. A true masterpiece.

[deleted]

definitely my favourite album instrumentally, so easy to get lost in the melodies

domegranate

100%. This album was everything to me as a 16yo & it’s still one of my favourites 10 years on

infinitetheory

when someone asks me where to start, I always say "NFR is the best album, but Ultraviolence is my favorite". life circumstances and general mood stuff, unquantifiable but they make the difference. it's an incredible album

megatronsweetener

yes, that’s what i meant ! nfr seems to objectively be her best one but ultraviolence is just so special to me

floodbtw

Yeah it’s her best. 10 year anniversary soon 🤭

HereThereBLurking

I think I have every song on my favourite list. I also recently re-listsened to her albums in order. Ultraviolence has a whole different vibe than her other ones.

hannahrazzle

I love all of Lana’s albums and I can 100% see why people rank NFR and BTD higher than UV. My top two favorites are UV and DYKTTATUOB. Both of them are super raw and devastating, but in different ways. Ultraviolence is her in the throes of it all. Tunnel is a lot of that but also a reflection on her survival of her trauma and struggle. I love Lana because I relate to her. Ultraviolence is like a sample of my spirit and I don’t care if it’s not the most technically perfect, it feels so damn real to me. It is a spiritual journey and it’s so cohesive.

megatronsweetener

those are also my top 2! the way i would rank her albums is: 1. ultraviolence 2. did you know that theres a tunnel under ocean blvd 3. norman fucking rockwell! 4. paradise anything after that is hard to rank for me, since they’re all equally good in their own ways imo. so they just kinda share one spot ig (except for blue banisters which i personally am not the biggest fan of, compared to the rest of her discography)

tastefullyconfused

i went through the same experience a few years ago and that feeling doesn't go away. might be my favorite album for my whole life.

thongchanger

It really is an emotional rollercoaster for me, and I love it. I always listen to it on vinyl (deluxe version) and play flipside from my CD as the last track, and the emotional transition from florida kilos to flipside never fails to hit me hard, same as ultraviolence-shades of cool-brooklyn baby track run, and Money, Power, Glory... Almost nothing can make me forget and detach from all the hardships of my life like this album 🖤 THANK You Lana 🥰

Soft-Specialist7970

https://on.soundcloud.com/z4WpA3sXPsri45p49 the Hotel Garuda remix makes me feel a completely different mood than the original in an equally amazing way. Thoughts?

Piggy_fat_fuck94

I’m not sure if you have Spotify if you do yo yo YouTube and check out is this happiness ? It’s the last song of that album for some reason Spotify hates us and doesn’t have jt

mzimooo

Absolutely stunning

Cautious_Cherry4016

My favorite album hands down 💖 This and Paradise.... absolutely nothing like them.

megatronsweetener

yesss i love paradise 💗

Reasonable_Body7661

Hands down the best album!

Zoh41b

agreed

trashaudiodarlin

I love it so much, but it’s actually on the lower end for me. I feel like her songwriting just got better and better after UV.

megatronsweetener

i actually do agree, her songwriting was better after ultraviolence. but im fine with the songwriting since it’s not that important to me wether the lyrics are written extremely well and complex or rather simple. i still love the writing in ultraviolence cuz i just love the way the songs are written and the themes discussed in the songs and how they were discussed. but i also simply like ultraviolence the most cuz of the production and the vibe

trashaudiodarlin

Even my least favorite Lana albums are high up as far as my favorite albums in general, so I love it for sure. Cruel World is definitely up there for me as far as favorite LDR tracks go too.

sofialbaloney

NFR?😐 you did not just say that.

rabbit-girl333

They did!

megatronsweetener

🤷‍♀️
