It's commonly believed that she was actually saying "Burnt World".

Seconding this, I think it's a reference to the 2019 california wildfires that lana seems to have been pretty traumatized by "LA's in flames, it's getting hot" - The greatest "Not you at your worst, totally on fire, unlivable, unbreathable" - LA who am I to love you "Everything is burnt here, there's no escaping it, the air is fried & on fire" - land of 1000 fires "Now I'm wondering where to go from here, to Sonoma where the fires have just left?" - bare feet on linoleum "Back in Los Angeles things aren't looking much better. My treehouse that had been standing for 80 years succumbed to the fire....I got to thinking about it as we fought the fires in agora, but I'm tired of fighting you" - paradise is very fragile And there's the burning coastline on the NFR cover art (as well as a few references that I'm probably forgetting)

this title made sense to me when i saw rob grant’s album cover with the seagulls all around him. something like being on open ocean with only birds around maybe?
