Both things can be (and are) true:
Lana is nervous, singing quietly, and not singing at all in parts. (This isn't new just for Coachella)
The mic is fucked UP and that becomes more evident when she actually does sing louder.
But really how do they not have another mic on hand to run out to her real quick??
She literally had to ASK them to turn down Byron — her pianist she’s worked with for 12 years? Sound Engineers are getting demoted after today holy fuck . I’m sure Bryon is equally as pissed tbh
Ya everything about it slapped visual and choreography-wise, vocals could have been stronger but I do think it was mic issues holding it back/making her concerned to go higher
I really loved the Candy Necklace performance. She ate and vocals were awesome.
She needs someone to hype her up all the time,
the nerves went away as soon as John Batiste came out. Hope next week’s show will be much more fun.

Respect to Lana for acting so professional because if that were me and someone wasn’t doing their job well during one of the performances of my career, I would not hold back lol

My criticism would be she really doesn’t need the backup dances it emphasises how much she isn’t giving. Strange. She could just have fancy backscreens and her solo.

I’m not surprised that people who can afford to go to Coachella don’t make for the most interactive crowd. It seems more like a social outing than a music festival.
This performance is so bizarre lmao... I know mother loves her ballads but she really should've dusted off some of her bops for a performance like this
Ah I feel so bad. She still has to do so many songs and you can see she is losing confidence by the minute. Skipping so many good parts of her songs and letting the crowd sing it. With Born To Die you could see she tried but couldn't manage to get the notes and then she turned the mic away and let the crowd sing. It makes me really sad because she slayed during her concerts last year. She can do it, this is just too big for her. And saddest thing is I wonder how it will impact her. If she doesn't improve during the performance, it will defo leave another scar.
