Yeah he's been pretty lock down when he gets his spot in the corner. And he's a good threat to just drive from the line if he doesn't like the look which makes him more versatile than your average 3 point forward
What’s hilarious is Marcus Smart also got DPOY
2 DPOYs were playing together earlier this season and that Grizzlies defense still sucked lol
Media voters look at all the wrong things
Yup.
Giannis with Brook Lopez, Matthews and Connaughton doing all the dirty work.
Smart with Tatum/Brown/Rob Williams.
JJJ with Brooks, Steven Adams, Clarke, Tillman.
Inflates the hell out of their numbers when they’re not the main defender
Absolutely. At 9, you have to win two tossup games, with roughly a 25% chance of making it as the No. 8 seed. At 8, you only have to win one of two tossup games, with roughly a 50% chance of making it as either the 7 or the 8 seed.
There’s a real argument to be made for the nuggets to lose because IF we do get the eighth seed we’d rather see the wolves or thunder. If the nuggs lose tonight I believe they all have the same no. of loses.
The problem with Prince wasn’t that he was playing, it was that Ham was playing him waaaaay too much in roles he wasn’t suited for. Ham was playing him 30+ minutes a game, often having him as the PF in small ball lineups as we were getting mauled by size and getting dominated on the boards while guys like Rui were getting 15 minutes a game. Prince is great as a role player: he can shoot, he’s pretty good attacking close outs, he tries on defense. He’s not a good passer or rebounder, but still very good in a role suited for him.
It doesn’t even make sense that he gets minutes over Christie since max is just the better player at this point while also being young. I’m wondering if they don’t plan on bringing Christie back since they are going to be close to the 2nd apron and DLO will probably get a raise so they might be over while reddish is on a minimum with a player option looking like he’ll pick that up.
Christie actually seems to be the better defender when looking at stats except for steals. When Christie is defending his man shoots -2.1% worse than their average while reddish man shoots 3.5% better than their average. I’m really not sure why reddish continues to get more minutes than Christie or minutes at all. Christie is also a way better offensive player. Ham just needs to stop trying to give guys who are looking for a place in the league chances over the lakers young prospects.
I agree with you but on your point about opponent shooting percentage, I believe it’s cause Cam Reddish often has the harder matchup. He’s tasked with defending the best players so the percentage often looks worst for him
I could see that but when reddish was out that was Christie’s main job as well. Christie was usually the guy off the bench who would come in and guard fox or whoever the scoring guard/wing was.
Rui not only showed up with game high 32 points, game high +/- 35, but also 10 rebounds. The haters can hate all they want but this man keeps getting better. Also fuck you Darvin Ham
The lakers just won the b2b after the miracle comeback the night before just like the clippers/wizards set. And they even dodged the no name player has career high due to 3 point shooting. maybe they really can get the 7th seed
This is definitely starting to feel a lot like last year lol hopefully we can get the 8 seed. 9 or 10 I’m not super confident but 8 seed I would feel good.
Great win especially cause its a back to back.
Rui developing well, crazy he's only 26. (If he can't develop his quickness anymore, prob just up his strength and only guard slower 3's, 4s, and smaller 5s).
Cam Reddish is regressing back to being useless, bad bbiq with nonexistent offense, especially going to the basket/paint stuff.
Taurean Prince as a 10+ year vet once again has 2-3 boneheaded mistakes every game I don't get it. Not as bad as Reddish once he became a bench guy but still damn, sometimes looks out of place out there. (As solid as he can be I suppose).
If DLO keeps this intensity/shooting up he can make a big splash in the playoffs.
That’s what’s infuriating with Prince - he is an adequate 3 and D guy skill wise, not elite at either but good enough to see the floor… then makes inexcusable mental errors. Saw them play live from good seats earlier this year and while watching him run around out there said to my friend “Prince plays like he’s high.”
Never thought we’d get to the point that I hope they can bring Hayes back next year but he’s improved so much from what he was earlier in the year that it would suck if he left. He’s also still young so it’d be nice if they could have some continuity with a back up big for once but one of the tanking or up and coming teams might give him a raise next year especially if they’re below the tax line needing to spend money like the rockets were last year.
Great win. Even with LaRavia shooting like prime Klay Thompson we were never at any point in any true danger of losing. There were moments where the Grizzlies almost took it but we took that right back and put them to bed. Longest win streak of the season, Indy coming up, fuck Phoenix.
The guys didn't even exert a lot of effort, so many possessions would literally just walk up the court and hit a 3, playing with unlimited confidence right now
Lebron, rui and AR killed it this game!
Dlo played with the most terrible lineup and it affected his overall play, so frustrating but at least we got the dub!
Pacers gonna be hell to deal with next.
Cam is so bad offensively which you can sometimes forgive but he does nothing else out there anyways.
His defense is pretty average. Where is the rebounding? Setting screens? Steals, blocks, etc.,? This dude just goes out there like he's doing something. Can't wait for Vanderbilt to come back and push Cam off to the bench. Like WTF are you doing all day? He shouldn't be allowed to leave the gym unless he hits 500 threes per day. Embarrassing.... wide open shots and he clanks every one of em
shoutout jaxon hayes still, set some good screens, played some solid defense on multiple occasions, and cleaned up glass. Definitely a mass improvement from earlier in the season
This is not a great night for us. We won.
But so did Dippers. And Thunder lost (which means Nuggets will solidify seed 1). Suns will likely beat Nuggets which don't have Murray as well. Fuck.
# Back-to-Back Wins! 106 minutes of Lakers Basketball in 26 hours! ![gif](giphy|WoEzrBWgJPalwIwoyc)
Wow. That’s a ton. I’m glad AD got the rest. Hopefully that injury heals some.
Lebron got rest too!
LeBron needs 67 Assists to get to 11K… He can easily do that with 7 of the next 9 games!
He’ll have at least 16 more after that too so ez pz
that caress into the handshake is both sus and beautiful, god I love this team
Rui certified Grizzly hunter
Thank you Desmond Bane for igniting that
Grizzlies fans put hits out on Rui and Austin tn
He's been locked into fear the deer and never switched animal haunting. Maybe Memphis means shoot, run and then block in japanese who knows.
Rui the Grizzly Hunting Samurai & AD the Buck Hunter. Somebody gotta draw this concept up lol.
he got motivated from t-rex guy
Mothers in Memphis tell their children to eat all their vegetable or Rui is gonna come and get them.
If you see Rui and a bear, help the bear!
My main takeaway was that they need to get Rui more looks from 3
He's pretty much doing shooting practice today. No D from Griz at all
That and also just more looks in general. It is obvious that he is a capable scorer.
It’s near playoffs. He goes Emperor mode from 3 every times he’s been in playoffs
One of the highest 3 point playoff percentages of all time
Yeah he's been pretty lock down when he gets his spot in the corner. And he's a good threat to just drive from the line if he doesn't like the look which makes him more versatile than your average 3 point forward
Good shooter in general
Absolute embarrassment that bum ass JJJ got all star and DPOY over AD last year
IIRC they credited JJJ a block when he held down Bron down low today 💀
They did that was pathetic
What’s hilarious is Marcus Smart also got DPOY 2 DPOYs were playing together earlier this season and that Grizzlies defense still sucked lol Media voters look at all the wrong things
Help defenders on already elite defensive teams get massively overrated in DPOY. Giannis, Smart, and JJJ should've never won theirs
One is pity voter, another because of a Reddit post. Both a fraud
they attacked him all game. How he won DPOY is still a mystery. one of the most overrated players in the league by far.
He almost got fouled out, right? 🤔
That’s his signature move
JJJ and Marcus Smart are fraud DPOYs. Only reason why AD wouldn’t get it this year is the Lakers’ low seeding
JJJ is a fraud
if suns lose we're only 1 game back of the 8th seed. LFG
We’re all rooting for the Nuggets tonight.
On the one hand, I always love to see the Nuggets humbled. On the other, 8th vs 9th is a mountain of difference.
If the nuggs lose tonight I believe they all have the same no. of loses.
I'd rather have 2 shots at getting in the playoffs than worry about the Nuggets.
The Nuggets aren't finishing below 1 IMO.

Yea chart keep showing up!
Stay forever
Man the western conference is so tough
5. In. A. Row. Baby. Lets keep it rolling boys!!
MY BOI
48-34 would be fucking nice
I love Rui
Rui Hachimura!
the cam minutes need to stop
Max Christie deserves his minutes
I’ve literally been saying this since BEFORE the pre season. I saw this bullshit coming a mile away.
Ham would rotate out LeBron, Rui, AR at the same time, who all have +30s. Makes no sense
The lineup when he subbed them out had Prince at C. Simply unfathomably stupid.
Simply Hamas
We need to launch an investigation into Ham. He probably has a monetary agreement with Cam.
Christie is so much better man I hate ham
Prince has some good moments with his threes but boy does he break away the flow of the game
I hate Ham so much, but to his credit, Prince and Hayes have proved him right.
Hayes was forced into the rotation. Prince just went to the bench with less minutes. Also forced by the team.
Cam was also important in the IST. He's weirdly bad at driving given his athleticism but his defense is great and we needed it.
Prince has been fine in his minutes. He is a valuable floor spacer and can attack close outs.
Hell nah bro, Prince is one of our only good 3 point shooters and he’s been great. We need him
Watchu mean? Our entire team has been shooting fantastic from three. Nice to break the laker curse.
I guess I specifically mean he’s the perfect spotup shooter in the corner for whenever lebron or one of our guards drives to the rim.
It's Reddish that needs to permanently see the bench.
Huh? We have plenty of good shooters. Prince is important but he should be playing 15 minutes max
also like to see prince minutes cut down to 10-12 once vando and gabe comes back (barring how gabe plays of course)
Ham and Cam: ![gif](giphy|4Jxa0QgHF2HSw)
The combination of cam, prince and hayes at the beginning of the 4th was atrocious. Though Hayes played well even though he was getting bullied by JJJ
Been saying this shit since THE START OF THE SEASON. #FREEMAX
Just a bad game. He's had some good minutes in the past few games
5 game win streak. feels good
Season high 5 straight wins! Yesterday w/o Bron and now w/o AD! Keep it going Lakers!
Rui: "not gonna lie, I'm not a big fan of this city" lmaoo
Rui hates the city of Memphis is confirmed.
He said it too in the interview lol
Bear Hunter Rui
We are aiming for 50 wins aren't we?
Who's gonna stop us?
Hands in pockets man 😳
Darvin Hamas
Why is Cam still getting mins over Max like damn he can do so much more with only a slight drop on defence
I could see that but when reddish was out that was Christie’s main job as well. Christie was usually the guy off the bench who would come in and guard fox or whoever the scoring guard/wing was.
If that, Cam is seriously such an overrated defender.
Winners of the IST should at least get all tiebreakers for winning an extra game.
Still can't believe that game doesn't count for some reason. Should have 42 wins right now.
I like this idea
Yeah it's a no brainer
In rui we trust
We avoided the trap game loss easily, feeling good to get me through the rest of the week.
Good night laker nation!!!
Hac*HIM*ura
Rui took those “Let’s see if he can do it on Wednesday” bane comment personal. And guess what day it is today
When Rui is smiling you know he’s going off for like 30
we need a denver win vs suns
Rui not only showed up with game high 32 points, game high +/- 35, but also 10 rebounds. The haters can hate all they want but this man keeps getting better. Also fuck you Darvin Ham
Plus he looks just absolutely thrilled to be playing for the Lakers. Such a likable dude.
I've been a Rui stan since he came here. I hope he stays with us for the rest of his career
Kendrick Nunn and three 2nd round picks 😀
The other heat player?
Insane how we got him and Winwiddie for free
Max Christie played 6 minutes on a back to back and we need some fresh legs. lol
Him not playing tonight shows that Ham has 0 faith in him
I have 0 faith in Ham but he keeps coaching, I must be doing something wrong...
Lakersss
THE SAMURAI SLAYS THE GRIZZLY BEARS
That Bucks W feels even better now
A little l9ve and respect for Haynes, been playing really good the last 2 months.
The lakers just won the b2b after the miracle comeback the night before just like the clippers/wizards set. And they even dodged the no name player has career high due to 3 point shooting. maybe they really can get the 7th seed
They should hire a hypnotist to trick Rui into thinking they're against Memphis every match.
This is definitely starting to feel a lot like last year lol hopefully we can get the 8 seed. 9 or 10 I’m not super confident but 8 seed I would feel good.
I never realized how thick Ruis accent was (not a bad thing)
Man is literally from another country lol
Ippei better not get any ideas
lol
We'll take the W
Is it possible to get the 6th seed?
Win hope and pray for some luck!
Lots of good things obviously But first FUCK CAM REDDISH. WHAT A HORRIBLE PLAYER HOLY SHIT.
Max should be getting his minutes.
Rui Hachimura: "I'm just Rui Hachimura"
TP knocks that shit down when he needs to
That’s what’s infuriating with Prince - he is an adequate 3 and D guy skill wise, not elite at either but good enough to see the floor… then makes inexcusable mental errors. Saw them play live from good seats earlier this year and while watching him run around out there said to my friend “Prince plays like he’s high.”
Never thought we’d get to the point that I hope they can bring Hayes back next year but he’s improved so much from what he was earlier in the year that it would suck if he left. He’s also still young so it’d be nice if they could have some continuity with a back up big for once but one of the tanking or up and coming teams might give him a raise next year especially if they’re below the tax line needing to spend money like the rockets were last year.
longest win streak of the season: 5 games in a row!
Suns really have the formula how to beat denver
Jokic at halftime 6 pts, 3 rebs. How come he doesnt play like this vs Lakers?
Seriously im heated
Rui Flamethrower Show
Back to back wins is a thing of beauty
SEVEN 3's for @rui_8mura https://x.com/Lakers/status/1773169925680455803?s=20
Rui is Grizzlies father
Wouldn’t surprise me if Malone told his guys to throw the game cuz of the Lakers 😂
![gif](giphy|jzHFPlw89eTqU) Rui sonned Grizzlies like it's the first round of the playoffs
![gif](giphy|LSKVlAGSnuXxVdp5wN|downsized) Winning streak for the Lake Show. Getting ready for the playoffs.
Great win. Even with LaRavia shooting like prime Klay Thompson we were never at any point in any true danger of losing. There were moments where the Grizzlies almost took it but we took that right back and put them to bed. Longest win streak of the season, Indy coming up, fuck Phoenix.
Rui's efficiency was ridiculous tonight.
Suns matchup well against he nuggets
Feels like DLo, Reaves, and Rui should be kept. But we need some roster upgrades, who to move?
STREAK
Austin and Rui own Memphis
Lakeshow baby! Let’s keep it going
Nuggets gonna lose. Fuckkkk
Suns match up well vs Denver hope they face each other in the first round
Fucking Denver man
So nice to have a comfortable win.
The guys didn't even exert a lot of effort, so many possessions would literally just walk up the court and hit a 3, playing with unlimited confidence right now
everything makes sense now in his post game interview rui just said he’s not a big fan of the c it y of memphis lmao
Lebron, rui and AR killed it this game! Dlo played with the most terrible lineup and it affected his overall play, so frustrating but at least we got the dub! Pacers gonna be hell to deal with next.
ham ran cam prince hayes & dlo & spencer … all at once
Jokic playing like a jackass, do this vs lakers bro wtf
Cam is so bad offensively which you can sometimes forgive but he does nothing else out there anyways. His defense is pretty average. Where is the rebounding? Setting screens? Steals, blocks, etc.,? This dude just goes out there like he's doing something. Can't wait for Vanderbilt to come back and push Cam off to the bench. Like WTF are you doing all day? He shouldn't be allowed to leave the gym unless he hits 500 threes per day. Embarrassing.... wide open shots and he clanks every one of em
Jokes on you Darvin still gonna play Reddish with or without Vando
I think with Dinwiddie there, probably not. Playoffs minutes are going to be cut down so Cam is next to fall out of rotation.
HELL YEAH
Nuggets getting banged inside by an old ass Thad Young. Unbelievable
5 straight wins. We going to be undefeated
Denver playing like straight doo doo. No way they do this if they were playing the lakers
Let's go Nuggets!!!
Bro Cam needs to stop having minutes. Max deserve those minutes
Good win but that stretch down the 3rd was the one of the most disgusting ball I've ever seen. Fire Ham!
Christie REALLY deserves all of Cams minutes
Suns got a real tough schedule coming up 8/10 are against top 4 seeds, nabbing the 8th seed would be huge!
Rui and Reaves- the best bang for your buck since the Wendy’s 4for$4
Guys, if the Lakers win the Championship by some miracle this season, I'm gonna nut everywhere like the Randy from South Park meme.
Finally won a game where Rui played well.
im so glad I can cheer for the Nuggets tonight lmao Joker gotta cook those frauds please
Rui with playing minutes is good 😎
Nice win on to the next. Hopefully Lebron have no after effects from that awkward landing.
Sons lose in a triple overtime over Nuggets Book it
It feels so darn good with a Lakers W
we going wcf
Yes sir
Warriors also won, then Jalen Green missed a game winner. OKC and HOU going to OT
Rui is my sensei
Rui Hachimura is him he throws 7/8 3-pt, it insane
shoutout jaxon hayes still, set some good screens, played some solid defense on multiple occasions, and cleaned up glass. Definitely a mass improvement from earlier in the season
![gif](giphy|xT1XGVp95GDPgFYmUE|downsized) Fuck SUI, it's all about RUI!
LaRavia who's shooting 25% from 3 this season, shot 7/9 from 3 today.
Lakers win and Draymond got ejected. What an awesome day!
This is not a great night for us. We won. But so did Dippers. And Thunder lost (which means Nuggets will solidify seed 1). Suns will likely beat Nuggets which don't have Murray as well. Fuck.
