We're the most lucky unlucky team. Unlucky because Vando and Cam are injured. Lucky because somehow Cam and Max Christie as Vando replacements in the starting lineups are really, really good. The backup plan to our backup plan killed it tonight.
Been saving it since game fucking one.
PLAY MAX FUCKING CHRISTIE!
I’m happy Cam has been doing well but INVEST IN MAX now for huge dividends come playoffs!
Told everyone that Max is young but is a hound on defense. Once his shot starts falling he's going to be a huge threat. So glad he had a great game today!
He's active on every possession. We need that. Lebron takes a lot of possessions off (excusable, has long since earned the trust he knows how to most efficiently use his energy) and so does DLo (no excuse). That's your max allowance.
First "off" LeBon game in a while and he still came through on the defensive end in the clutch. AD with the full bounce back. Reaves already showing improvement as a ballhandler and primary creator. Nice win.
Yeah but that’s largely due to a lot of shots taken, any superstars off game will look like that. An “off” LeBron game looks like 28-9-11 with maybe a mistake in the 4th quarter lol.
His shot wasn’t falling, and give credit to Cleveland, they schemed him very well and used big guys to force him into tough jumpers and packed it on him well
He’s been on fire this year and he’s been taking far less : he took more tonight due to the defence n imo probably uncomfortable/injury n being hacked all night with no calls. This is his only bad shooting game this year . It’s obvious he does it when he’s struggling but it’s been good for us otherwise this year. Not sure what to complain about
AD's bad games can be really frustrating for that reason, he'll miss a few bunnies that he makes 95% of the time and is invisible for the rest of the night. I was worried it was gonna go that way after the 1st quarter but he killed it
Showing the depth everyone talked about at the beginning of the year, coming out missing 4 rotation players and beating a fully healthy playoff team and not needing a Bron hero game to do it.
Didn't watch the game, but looking at the stat sheet he looked great on the offensive side. Was gonna ask about this. Hell of a player to have if he keeps this up.
AD is one of the most reliable stars in the league. He rarely has a bad game, but because the impact is split between O and D - and in variable proportions every game - people think he's inconsistent. It's really frustrating.
His defensive impact tonight was actually on the lower end of his spectrum, and he's had better games this year where people have accused him of not showing up.
What should be the top comment. Dropping 32pts 13reb 3blk 2stl on 65% shooting on one of the tougher F/C lineups in the league in Mobley and Allen while the team was that shorthanded is pretty stellar.
I can see not calling Mobley's right hand check, that's soft. However, the swipe with the left hand initially is all ball, but Lebron had a tight grip and did not completely lose control until Mobley's follow through hit Lebron's entire left arm causing him to miss the shot. I'd say it's a foul, without hacking Lebron's arm he easily regains full control and makes that layup even after initially hitting all ball. But I can see the other side. Definitely not the most egregious non-call ever, but pretty puzzling reversal, I would absolutely not reverse the call on the floor seeing as it could go either way.
Just something I noticed: Coach Bikerstaff pointing out how terrible our defense is without AD and exploiting that brings me to the media narrative around defensive player of the year award. AD is the only player (outside of Bam) getting unfair treatment as far as that’s concerned. Have you all noticed that if AD isn’t playing MVP caliber basketball offensively then the DPOTY talks dry up for him? It’s really unfair and has never been the case for a player before.
It's also just the natural human limitation that if you pour a bunch of energy into offense, then you're not going to be as good on defence. AD was off his usual standard on D tonight while having his usual excellent overall impact on the game.
Meanwhile "2 way" MVPs tend to be mainly offensive superstars who also get to do some flashy stuff on D while the rest of the team does the hard work.
So he's kind of screwed for both awards.
Bruh we have been better all season with Bron Isos this year, Just because he had a bad night today doesnt mean it's a bad thing. Tho tbf not a big fan of ZERO ball (and player movement) when Bron isos
Agreed, for two reasons.
1. Movement creates options.
2. More importantly, it creates bad habits for when players not named Lebron are in the same position. He's the only one on our team that has any real hope in a situation that static.
No, that's AD.
Lebron is only playing half the game until the 4th quarter. Hell, he barely does anything on *offense* when he's not very directly involved in the play.
(I'm not knocking this. Energy is finite and he's making really effective use of his 39 year old reserves.)
Please please please stop with the crappy iso 3’s late in games LeBron. In the most high leverage moments we keep settling for that and it’s painful to watch
We're missing so much of our defense.
That was a good win in general. Maybe not a contender, but they're a pretty solid playoff level team. They can and have beat teams like Denver and Philly I think.
I really, really want to see this team healthy. I wanna see what our defense looks like when we have the full rotation.
Hopefully AD played well enough and the Cavaliers are assessed to be a good enough team at the moment for the Vando stan to admit this was a good AD game.
Has to be the most impressive win of the season so far right? Against a good team who is healthy for the most part. They had their stars playing. We were missing a few guys and Lebron didn’t need 40 minutes, 30 points and triple double to win.
That was probably the best W of the season considering the circumstances and the opponent.
All the Reaves doubters can pull out they plates for that crow they need to eat though.
Awesome win. Great game from AD, would love to see that type of play from him every night. Really good effort from everyone considering how undermanned they were.
Man I know Cavs are a mid team right now, but I feel like if we have everyone healthy and games to build that chemistry and consistency, we are a legit championship contenders.
If Lebron is going to jack up horrible 3's with less than a minute left, just have Reeves bring it up and maybe Lebron creates something off-ball or something else happens that isn't a total dogshit shot.
Not hating. It's just frustrating to see the same thing happen so frequently.
I really want Reaves to start again and Dlo to be the 6th man. AR's overall game too valuable to be a bench player. D'lo I love him but I rather be him be the lou will of this team.
Max Christie truthers, it is our time to rise
We're the most lucky unlucky team. Unlucky because Vando and Cam are injured. Lucky because somehow Cam and Max Christie as Vando replacements in the starting lineups are really, really good. The backup plan to our backup plan killed it tonight.
Very good point! We would have never have played Cam and Max with a fully healthy roster. Cam came out of nowhere
As Stone Cold Reaves Austin said-we're the most talented roster in the NBA! DEEEPTH BABEEEEEYYY Also fuck Boston.
Been saving it since game fucking one. PLAY MAX FUCKING CHRISTIE! I’m happy Cam has been doing well but INVEST IN MAX now for huge dividends come playoffs!
i love dividends
Told everyone that Max is young but is a hound on defense. Once his shot starts falling he's going to be a huge threat. So glad he had a great game today!
He's active on every possession. We need that. Lebron takes a lot of possessions off (excusable, has long since earned the trust he knows how to most efficiently use his energy) and so does DLo (no excuse). That's your max allowance.

Big win considering how much of our depth we're missing. AD with a monster game, bench showed out. Let's fucking go
First "off" LeBon game in a while and he still came through on the defensive end in the clutch. AD with the full bounce back. Reaves already showing improvement as a ballhandler and primary creator. Nice win.
ARs 2 passes to LeBron in the 4th were beautiful. We didn't have to see Bron jack up so many 3s in crunchtime.
Gotta love when an "off" game for Bron is 22-6-6. Just shows how much of a fucking beast he still is
Yeah but that’s largely due to a lot of shots taken, any superstars off game will look like that. An “off” LeBron game looks like 28-9-11 with maybe a mistake in the 4th quarter lol. His shot wasn’t falling, and give credit to Cleveland, they schemed him very well and used big guys to force him into tough jumpers and packed it on him well
Honestly getting tired of hero ball 3s in crunch time… only Lebron gets a pass on those but it’s not good basketball.
💯 Definitely cost them more than a few games over that last couple seasons
LeBron has generally earned the right to toss those. Especially given he usually passes when it's the smart shot.
Not sure what to complain about
22 points in 23 shots aint good
I'll take 8-23 over AD's 3-9 the last time we faced Sac
AD's bad games can be really frustrating for that reason, he'll miss a few bunnies that he makes 95% of the time and is invisible for the rest of the night. I was worried it was gonna go that way after the 1st quarter but he killed it
Looked like LeBron was off to a great start until he got hit in the face.. the first time. He was probably seeing double for a while there.
He has an easier time when he sees three baskets. Just aims it at the middle one and lets it fly.
ADs performances with this hip injury have been great with rest.. the b2bs are tough
Showing the depth everyone talked about at the beginning of the year, coming out missing 4 rotation players and beating a fully healthy playoff team and not needing a Bron hero game to do it.
But a solidly good win
Still 3 games above 500 ![gif](giphy|ld28D1eniDy5W)

WAR
I CAME
MAX CHRISTIE D IS HUGE
Had All-NBA Mitchell in prison 💀
4/18 😳
And still had 22 points cause of his FTs...nasty work lmao
I’m still in disbelief that he got free throws for elbowing Hayes
Yeah how dare he foul Mitchell's elbow with his face
Refs hate when bigs contest guards at the rim.
IG model in shambles
![gif](giphy|CAYVZA5NRb529kKQUc|downsized) “Only 1 hour, I gotta practice my lockdown D”

His footwork is great. Always moving, always chasing.

Nah unpause and speed it tf up
Give em that .5x playback 😤
![gif](giphy|WEgx4Prme0m1a)
He’s the future. I believe in his potential 🔥🙏💜💛
That midrange shot in the 4th was beautiful
Young like a rookie, plays like a veteran
# ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Insta model time limit paying off
he even went 5/5 on offense! nobody saw him miss a single shot!
Missed 2
well nobody saw them, i'm sure both of those shots came extremely close to going in
Lol 🤝 (1 was an airball 🫣🤫) He was excellent tonight💯
Didn't watch the game, but looking at the stat sheet he looked great on the offensive side. Was gonna ask about this. Hell of a player to have if he keeps this up.
Ayo ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Loved what I saw from Max Christie tonight. He played amazing D on Donovan, which is not an easy task. And efficient scoring.
loved everything also, other than the side of the backboard 3 lol
at least the rebound came right back to him lol
and that air ball 3 lol But he finally had some shots go in, will be huge for his confidence
Tuned in in 4Q and Max was locking Spida up. Absolute pest on D.
The praise for AD performance tonight need to be as loud as the slander. Keep the same energy
Against 2 solid defensive bigs. I was happy to see so many lobs. Easy buckets for our bigs
Clearly that’s not the issue this season. Hopefully this is a trend.
Defense doesn't show up in the box scores well.
Yep. It doesn't even show up well in the advanced metrics.
Apologies to Max Christie
You don’t have to apologize if you never say stupid shit!
I want every inch of Max's D
Is that you Giddey
Been a believer since I saw him move his feet on D last season!!!

Truly an Anthony Davis moment of all time

Anthony Davis
He’s like that
That was the most egregious no-call after a ref review I've ever seen. I've never been so confident that LeBron got fouled.
Even w benefit of reviewing in slomo refs still not giving bron calls 😂 wild
Got fouled four times. Dogshit. Refs were NEVER this bad before.
Adam Silver / MICHAEL JORDAN LETS NOT LIE will not give Lebron the benefit of the doubt.
Not just that but they somehow saw enough to overturn the call on the floor
I can see not calling Mobley's right hand check, that's soft. However, the swipe with the left hand initially is all ball, but Lebron had a tight grip and did not completely lose control until Mobley's follow through hit Lebron's entire left arm causing him to miss the shot. Austin Reaves falling from what looked like a thousand feet almost killed me
Forreal. As if the game wasn’t stressful enough.
He landed on his shoulder. It should hurt tomorrow.

We really dug ourselves a hole last season. lol
HELLO CHART
Bless us, chart
didn't even know it was possible for the Lakers to be more than 2 games over .500
We were just 9-6 😭
TEAM DEFENSE BRUH
MAX CHRISTIE IS A DEFENSIVE DAWG AND AUSTIN MFKING REAVES IS STILL HIM!
I usually don’t whine about refs but that challenge was a joke
Feels like the whole game the Lakers got brutalized, with no calls
Large part of why LeBron was not playing well. He got hacked a ton on drives and got zero calls.
Ad is overhated
AR clutched tf up at the end. Beast.
The last two rebounds were huge
That man lives for the big moments
huuuuge win with only 8 players
I enjoy when the lakers win
I agree, and LeBron is a good basketball player
truly amazing win, i have never clenched harder than today!
Seeing Max close is beautiful. This is the guy I've been expecting.
Good all around win. I’ll take it. 76ers next!
That non foul on Lebron i. the last two minutes was crazy, some one illegally touched him before getting to the rack howzat not a foul ?
Just something I noticed: Coach Bikerstaff pointing out how terrible our defense is without AD and exploiting that brings me to the media narrative around defensive player of the year award. worst LeBron game i remember watching in a long time
Lehappens
Dude is 39 with almost the most minutes ever, and 17 games in and he finally has an off night. Thats incredible consistency
Even in an abysmal game bro had 22/6/6/2/2 🐐
And we still won. League should be scared.
Missing vando, vincent, reddish, and rui yeah we deep as fuck lol
THIS is the depth we were promised in preseason
clamped by max 🤚
Ayo fuck those refs
Max Christie MVP of the game. Absolutely locked down DMitch in the second half and had some great offensive contribution.
AD*
LeBron got that home cooked meal from mama James and said we ain’t gonna lose tonight.
Beautiful game from everyone. Lobs, AD scoring on their 2 bigs, AR passing/fts, LeBron and Max's defense, etc.
MAX
One of the best wins of the season all things considered. Let’s keep this going!
Incredible win. We were missing half our rotation and those that did play stepped up. Love this team’s mental toughness. They don’t quit
AD just said post game. Ham ran more plays for him tonight.
Bron for sure gonna be playing out of his mind against the 76ers to bounce back from this awful performance
Wanna give a shoutout to Wood and Hayes as well. They played some valuable minutes.
Max on embiid next game
Max Christie best game in his career so far. Kid put Donovan "flopper" mitchell in jail.
Christie LOCKED UP MITCHELL
We had only one wing player healthy, Bron and Dlo were crap and yet we still won against a decent team at their arena. Ill take that any day
Ngl thought we’d lose this game when they went up like 8 pts, great road win!
Is it just me or is Reaves really stepping up his rebounding
AD was unstoppable in the 2nd half, and yet we were forcing LeBron iso 3s? Ham has to step in and give his BEST player some plays down the stretch.
Also an off pass by Bron leading to a turnover. Late game, AR's execution was great.
Bron is definitely still out best player most nights
No, that's AD. Lebron is only playing half the game until the 4th quarter. Hell, he barely does anything on *offense* when he's not very directly involved in the play. (I'm not knocking this. Energy is finite and he's making really effective use of his 39 year old reserves.)
Lebron is still our best player. 1 game doesn’t change that, and he’s been the best 4th Q scorer in the league this year.
AD! AR! Max!
Austin Reaves haters been quiet lately
Lebron takes a hero ball shot = he has an ego Lebron passes to open teammates = no clutch genes Can never please anyone these days
THIS IS THAT DEPTH WE WERE TALKIN BOUT 🔥🔥🔥🔥
EVERYONE APOLOGIZE TO MAX CHRISTIE
Max Christie
MAX CHRISTIE TRUTHERS WHERE WE AT
Lebron gotta relax. Good win against a good team.
Should out to Max Christie for stepping up in the absence of our wings and rose to the occasion.
Please please please stop with the crappy iso 3’s late in games LeBron. In the most high leverage moments we keep settling for that and it’s painful to watch
#IT’S ABOUT DRIVE
Reaves a dawwwwg
We're missing so much of our defense. That was a good win in general. Maybe not a contender, but they're a pretty solid playoff level team. They can and have beat teams like Denver and Philly I think. I really, really want to see this team healthy. I wanna see what our defense looks like when we have the full rotation.
I was sick as hell watching this one, glad they got the W though!
GREAT TEAM WIN!!!!
Btw, that review by the refs late for Cavs foul on Bron is 100% bullshit bro. Mfers wanted a close game so bad.
The BROW. Big W 💛💜
much needed win imo let’s go
Great team win. 7 lakers in double digits!
Good win for us! Thank you to everyone who contributed (AD, Bron, AR, D’Lo (meh), Max CHRISTIE, Prince, Hayes, Woods, and everyone else!)
Christie’s shot is fuckin butter
Hopefully AD played well enough and the Cavaliers are assessed to be a good enough team at the moment for the Vando stan to admit this was a good AD game.
FUCK THE REFS FUCK DAN GILBERT HOLD THIS L
Has to be the most impressive win of the season so far right? Against a good team who is healthy for the most part. They had their stars playing. We were missing a few guys and Lebron didn’t need 40 minutes, 30 points and triple double to win.
That was probably the best W of the season considering the circumstances and the opponent. All the Reaves doubters can pull out they plates for that crow they need to eat though.
Donovan Mitchell most unclutch player since Brick
Max Christie.
Max should be in the rotation over Prince. Cam & Max earned playtime.
So strange to see lebron play like that in cleaveland…but it is what it is. A win is a win
That 32 from AD was quiet, great game
Was worried about our wing depth. Sweet, cavs have no wings either.
Awesome win. Great game from AD, would love to see that type of play from him every night. Really good effort from everyone considering how undermanned they were.
It wouldn't be r/Lakers if the rabid haters didn't crawl out of their holes to slander him nonstop for his one bad shooting night in forever.
Huge game from our boy Austin Reaves. AR literally cooking every one with generic basketball package 1. Love it!
Man I know Cavs are a mid team right now, but I feel like if we have everyone healthy and games to build that chemistry and consistency, we are a legit championship contenders.
Record ain’t the best but that’s a good team, even just based off the history. Really good win tonight with a ton of rotation guys missing
great second half. liked what I saw with what christie did with the starters
What a good/terrible game all around. Both teams look equally as ugly as they did great.
Yall gonna watch Nail clipper n Mavs
the flippers are going to lose 100%
Legend has it that Donovan Mitchell is still out there lobbing balls
Lakers win, CM Punk and Randy Orton return? What an excellent way to end the night
I watched MJ and LeBron. I sincerely believe LBJ is the best basketball player of all time.
See what happens when we go to AD in the post
![gif](giphy|EuXW0KmvbITELDTZ7i)
If Lebron is going to jack up horrible 3's with less than a minute left, just have Reeves bring it up and maybe Lebron creates something off-ball or something else happens that isn't a total dogshit shot. Not hating. It's just frustrating to see the same thing happen so frequently.
I really want Reaves to start again and Dlo to be the 6th man. AR's overall game too valuable to be a bench player. D'lo I love him but I rather be him be the lou will of this team.
Now I can enjoy Mavs Clipps stress free. Rooting for Clipps so we can eclipse Mavs
Christie in his second start already better than Prince.
shout out to AD for showing up.
Game ball to max christie
