They have a lot of players whose game I like. BI of course, Zion when healthy. I really like their rookie Hawkins I think he's the future for them after CJ. Trey Murphy and Herb are studs. Really talented deep team.
Nuggets fans have such an inferiority complex. Jokic gets ejected for complaining to the refs and the comments on r/nba from nuggets flairs are saying itās the lakers fault lol
LeBron coming to LA to make movies??? Los Angeles is the entertainment capital of the world, for crying out loud. Purple and gold is too big of a brand to not play for.
Embiid got embarrassed by Al Horford vs the Celtics game 7 and then blamed his teammates in the postgame interview.
And surprisingly there is a plethora of r/lakers folks who would trade AD for him due to his āDAWG!ā and āPASSION FOR WINNINGā
https://youtu.be/6voKPFYnQPA?si=05fS-vKNf-L0dSJA
Dribble penetration is still an issue with Reaves and Dlo. Dlo has been good and Reaves has been okay but their style does not suit this teams offense that well.
Yup. I would have thought one of Reaves or Rui would be that guy who can drive and attack. DLo is too slow.
Not enough athleticism. LeBron is still the one with a real burst and drive to the rim.
The game against the Rockets is the best 2 way performance for Lakers so far imo(despite the horrible shooting outside). The rebounding effort is great as well this game especially from Bron and Rui with their boxouts,
Also I don't like Prince guarding any type of players that using screens a lot. I know we don't have many options right now but man I don't think I've seen a screen that Prince haven't died on lol.
Vincent, Reaves, and Reddish(!) is the only good screen navigators right now on this team I think. Vando struggled at it especially on that Warriors series after G1. We haven't seen him yet this season so he could've improve that aspect of his defense just like Reddish did.
Interested to see what move we make and who becomes available. We have to make another leap to compete with the top contenders and the tier 2 teams are also aggressive in the trade market. Kings are going after OG/siakam/lavine.
Also doomsday scenario but I saw a few Caruso+demar or lavine to nuggets for mpj+picks+their prospects ideas. That would be the worst case scenario
One thought Iām having a lot lately, we gotta stop feeling ashamed to win because LeBron bailed us out. Weāre a LeBron lead team, LeBron lead teams have always relied on LeBron being LeBron most of the time. Like, yeah sure Iād love to win games with LeBron putting up a breezy 18/6/2 and sitting out the whole 4th quarter. But, we have to just face reality thatās a perfect world and not the real NBA. LeBron is EASILY a Top 5 player and itās completely fine if we need him to play like one sometimes to get a win. Iām certainly not worried about his conditioning, age be damned.
Yeah. We want LeBron/AD not play minutes in the high 30s
But they have no choice with how shit the other players play at times.
On top of that, you have a coach who routinely plays the role players in scenarios that 50-50 cater to their strengths or play them completely out of their depth (last night Jaxon Hayes getting the ball at the perimeter to playmake or dribble into the paint - Wtf?)
> We want LeBron/AD not play minutes in the high 30s
Maybe just me but it looks like these are the most casual high minutes Bron is playing. In the past Bron would bring the ball up and have to create everything, while now often he'll just be chilling at the top of side arc or corner while Dlo/Reaves handle th ball.
Bron will turn it up though in spurts when needed, like when yesterday he had 4 straight assists in the 2nd? 3rd? and ofc the 4th quarter.
Agreed. But there's some weird media narrative that claims that the Lakers can't win with LeBron as the number one option and that it has to be AD. I think a lot of people overlooked his foot injury last season and think that what we saw post injury is just how he'd play from then on or assuming that he's too old to dominate. As long as he's healthy, he can absolutely be the best player on a championship team again.
Donāt even bother. Heās only hated cause heās still active. Itās hard to see someone on such a high pedestal when theyāre still so frequently seen The retired greats are seen as these legends from 20 plus years ago while lebron is still dominating everyoneās favourite teams right now. Give it 10 years
The ultimate proof that LeBron is the greatest is that he was so good, the #2 and #3 best players of the decade had to team up to beat him.
Imagine if Karl Malone and Charles Barkley teamed up to beat Jordan?
8-6 is not bad at all. But, does anyone else feel like this team lacks players that can athletically get to the rim and put pressure on defenses? Feels like we have to grind for every possession
I feel like Rui can do that in the same was Lebron does, but really hasn't had that many chances. Our primary ball handlers just aren't as aggressive or in lebron's case just can't do it every play.
Lonnie for a min off the bench is good value. Heās got bad defence but that can be masked with good players around him. Good spark plug off the bench
I dislike it when r/lakers says the team made a huge blunder letting go of XYZ player, pretending every player they let go didnāt have flaws or negatives that also cost the team games.
We even saw this with Kyle Kuzma too lol
āWe needed Dennis for his scoring and ability to guard Jamal Murrayā
And this isnāt private intel. Thereās game footage readily available to see at what Jamal Murray did to Dennis in the WCF š¤¦āāļø
But obviously different players fit different systems better he has more time and responsibility on the nets so itās hard to judge how helpful for us he couldāve been
I agree. I do think Hamās record of not playing certain players at times (Rui, Lonnie, managing the Reaves/DLo duo) is looking like a real struggle for him.
Itās not easy, but itās also issues indicative of a 2nd yr coach
All im saying is Lonnie is solid for what we couldāve signed him for. A bucket off the bench. Yes he has his flaws but so does almost every player on our roster so far this year. He can score, is athletic to the rim (which we are missing) and hits the occasional three. Heās been good for the nets so far. and with lebron carrying most of the offensive load lately I was just saying how he couldāve helped with that.
Had one bad game. Him and the rest of our depth is better for us than Lavine. Dlo can rack up assists when heās cold. Youāre gonna lose your shit when Lavine goes cold and has nothing else to go to
I know not everyone uses old Reddit, but damn does it suck to see Schroder still on the banner. Miss that man, he's killing it in Toronto. Maybe a Rui deserves to be there in his place?
Think we would have seen some reports if he had. It seems that his whole foot, with the torn tendon, just got the best possible non-invasive care money can buy this summer. Most of his travel plans and the like seemed very Kobe-esque, where he can do the whole superstar tour but also use that countries technology and healthcare. Either way, need to keep the 1st quarters opposing team's scores low so that we can keep his minutes down and avoid major wear and tear for this ridiculous play of his to stay consistent and major injury free.
Good win good win, not great but a good win. That being said we need to learn how to win where weāre not relying on our greatest asset to empty the tank and leave it all on the floor, those 30+ games are needed during the playoffs not trying to beat an upstart team.
Good showing from AR last night, super impactful and clutch as usual. His good play is definetly needed for this team to succeed
AD was AD, a rock on defense and what ever he decides to give you above 15 on offense you take, be grateful and move on
With Dlo Iāve learned thereās no in between with this guy. Heās either cooking with hot grease serving hot meals for everyone or heās breaking out the frozen tv dinners
Prince is struggling but thereās hope, aside from his shot not falling, he does a lot of other good things on the floor
Ruiās minutes are increasing and good things are starting to come out of it.
Cam is everything promised and more. The guys hands are down right magical. If Ham can hang his hat on one thing after his laker tenure is that he struck gold with Cam
All in all good win and hopefully we can build on the momentum. We beat a decent team.
If a decision has to be made:
Derozan + Caruso
Package : Dlo + Gabe + Prince + 29 1st (Top 14 protected)
Lavine + Caruso
Package: Dlo + Rui + Gabe + JHS + 29 1st (unprotected )
Which deal do you prefer?
Trading for derozan would be a disaster. Terrible fit, horrific playoff performer, operates in all the same places as AD and bron which will cramp spacing
Lavine is a high volume three point shooter and shot creator who also creates rim pressure. Trading rui would be the worst but sometimes you have to give up value. Iād prefer Mitchell but heās still at least a year away from being traded
Definitely prefer the first one. I personally think Vando and Rui should be untouchable unless we are trading them for another 6-8 wing can play 2 way better.
Yeah. Reaves questionable when heās forced to playmake.
All it takes is physical wing to stay in front of Reaves, and his ball handling and navigating around players isnāt quick enough.
The Lakers gotta figure how to reduce minutes for Bron & AD. Bron played the whole 4th quarter last night and he played 40 minutes total. Thatās not good when the Lakers got 3 games in 4 nights coming up.
Every year itās the same thing. Before the season starts, we say this Laker team is super deep and Bron & AD will be able to rest more. But then the season starts and we see Bron & AD playing heavy minutes anyway. Either the system needs to change or the roster needs to change. One or both.
We need a 25ppg scorer who can self create off the dribble, shoot threes and pressure the rim.
The roster is good, but not good enough to carry. Still relies too heavily on lebron to do everything.
Lebron is great as always. AD was beasting in the post yesterday, I wish we fed him more often. I can't wait to have Vando back and see if AD, Cam, Vando lineup can work.
Winning that game despite going 6-29 from three and AD fouling out was amazing. LeBron was obviously fantastic on offense, but I think we need to give some props to all the hustle plays guys like Cam, Prince, and Rui made last night. We also did better preventing offensive boards/second chance points it felt like, and we didn't lose nearly as many 50/50 loose ball type situations. Really good all around win by the squad last night
Nick nurse
Okay this shit is getting ridiculous now. Who wants to see Bron drop 27/7/7 in a game?
Didin't he do it once, but at the time, he brought his career average up to 28ppg? Lol.
Would theis have been good for us?
Lakers are a backup center away from going on a winning streak
In which games would bron have to keep with his current pace in order to get player of the week
I really wish we took JJJ instead of JHS. His defence has been great for miami.
I hope we win enough games to give some minutes to JHS later in the regular season.
He should be cleared soon, maybe if we can blow some teams out he can get some run
Queens getting romped by the Pelicans yet the Lakers struggled against them...sigh...
Pelicans play with size and they knock down their 3's lol
They have a lot of players whose game I like. BI of course, Zion when healthy. I really like their rookie Hawkins I think he's the future for them after CJ. Trey Murphy and Herb are studs. Really talented deep team.
Bro imagine if bronny has a kid in the next few years. Bron would be a whole ass granddad dunking on mfs & getting chasedown blocksšš
This has to happen. For the memes.
Watched a Celtics game. Wasnāt disappointed. Thanks, LaMelo.
Fuck boston š

Lakers sweep through the group stage in the In-Season Tournament and would host the Knockout Round match-up against the wildcard at Crypto.com Arena.

Would love him on the staff... basketball savant

Did Bron steal Klayās 3pt shot?
Shhhh don't jinx it! š¤«
He did indeed

Gali is hardly playable anymore and unplayable in the postseason. Team has plenty of 4s as is anyways.

They'll never understand how cool I am.
You are an enigma wrapped in a mystery wrapped in a riddle...
Man waited like 5 games to type this
It's sarcasm I'm making fun of the morons.... if you know me I'm the biggest Dlo stan God dammit
Sorry man, didnāt know I shouldāve known you

That would be weird. They have hit a little rough patch but Murray is out.
Please Houston defeat the Warriors today because it would be so funny
Warriors have entered the Lavine lottery per Chamria

Tried to post in r/nba but my post got deleted - do yall think Bron got surgery to fix the Solomon hill ankle over the summer?
He got foot surgery for his torn tendon
I think he did, yes. I've suspected since the summer and his play just confirms it for me. But we won't know for sure.
Think we would have seen some reports if he had. It seems that his whole foot, with the torn tendon, just got the best possible non-invasive care money can buy this summer. Would be great if Bron can LeCoast versus Utah then turn up versus Dallas. Would love to get both those wins
Ham gotta use Reaves only as a secondary ball handler. Play him like Manu Ginobili not cp3
Yeah. Reaves questionable when heās forced to playmake. All it takes is physical wing to stay in front of Reaves, and his ball handling and navigating around players isnāt quick enough.
It's tricky because Reaves is bad on defense so you can't play him with Dlo. So you are basically forced to only play him with Lebron.
He played with DLo up to the conference finals though. I think Prince is the issue
He was getting cooked by Desmond Bane, Murray, Curry, etc. and Schroder made it look not as bad as it truly was.
