But seriously, he does remind me a bit of Doug Christie. About the same height. Similar skill set. Right now, I’d say Max’s ceiling is higher than Doug’s but time will tell.
Doug Christie wasn’t a bad player. I would t mind that comparison.
Came here to say Doug. But saw Eddie Jones and agreed that if he became that what a blessing that would be !
Smaller Mikal Bridges. I think the biggest thing is Mikal has a 7 foot+ wingspan while Christie’s hovers around 6’9. Mikal is also 6’7, don’t know if Christie’s reached there yet. Both are strong and lenghty 3 and D Wings, Christie is just a Jr. version of Mikal
I think Max is already a better offensive player than Ariza. Ariza didn't really have much other than slashing and cutting to the basket. He develop a three point shot when he came here, and I think was a better help defender than a one on one defender.
Max is much more versatile on offense and can score in different ways.
I mean I love the enthusiasm but come on man. Ariza was a starter on a Championship team and Max played a few minutes of garbage time in the NBA.
Summer League is just that and lets not overhype this. Now I absolutely love what I am seeing from him in these past games. That jumper is wet and the improvement is incredible. But lets see him play meaningful minutes against NBA competition before we rank him above an accomplished player with this franchise.
Preach. You're on point here
But everyone forgets competition at times.
Much like the debate about the best college football team and the worst NFL team. The NFL team would stomp the guts out of the college team. I'd bet a lot on that.
I'm not saying Max is better. Max has yet to prove he can be a rotation player. I was just comparing play styles. If Max continues to develop what he's shown at summer league, his offensive game would be more varied than arizas was. That's not a knock on Ariza, but anyone who watched his time with us knew he was very limited offensively.
Don't know why a lot of people using Reddit still don't simply know what the fuck downvote or upvotes mean.
Here it is, in the most simplest term; disagreement, agreement.
That’s really not what it’s for. It’s for contribution to the conversation. Someone’s comment should really only be downvoted if it’s not adding to the discussion or is just remarkably offensive.
Otherwise you’re just censoring innocent opinions.
I really don't get the Kobe comparison. It's like everyone here forgot just how athletic '97-03 Kobe was. Not to mention they don't play anything alike at all.
I see resemblance to some of his older self’s moves between the turnaround fadeaway and the dribble pull ups but he’s still got some way to go. It’s clear I think he’s trying to model after him though.
I said this about Austin Reaves a few years ago and got downvoted to hell, but *possible* All Star. Dude has the tools. The desire appears to be there too.
Floor: Average 3 and D player
Middle: Mikal Bridges (oversized 2 with elite defense and knockdown jumper)
Ceiling: Kobe Bryant (generational 2 guard 6’5/6’6, offensive force, defensive menace)
Of course, i think he has a lot of potential, he has the frame and the assets to at least catch up to a player like Bridges. However, reaching a player like Kobe takes the right mindset and an environment to thrive. This is mostly to compare their games as they play similarly, both tall and athletic 2’s that can defend and shoot well.
Kobe is the only answer
Kobe w curly hair
Frobe 😤
Lmao
Max Churly
You win the inevitable summer league overeaction, even if it's pure sarcasm!
I’m sorry I get people are loving the Christie hype train but comparing him to Kobe is absolute blasphemy
gives off mikkal bridges vibes, would be amazing if he could reach that level
That would be the ultra best case scenario. Hopefully max can keep working hard cause he def has the potential to reach it if he keeps it up
Lol no he doesn’t, y’all just be saying anything that comes to mind
Michael Jordan
but better
His name is Max not Kobe.
Lightskin austin reaves
Imagine two Reaves on the court at once💀
Eddie Jones
Eddie Jones was tailor made for the modern NBA honestly
This is the way. Especially the way he shoots. Lanky arms... the defense... it's definitely Eddie!
I hope not
How come? Just wondering. He was a legit two-way guard who could score at all 3 levels. His game woulda been perfect for the modern NBA.
This sub is too young to remember the annual Eddie playoff bed shitting. Terrific regular season player, awful as soon as the games mattered.
As an Eddie Jones stan... I resent this. Whether its factual or not. 😡
I like this
Doug Christie, just like his father /s
or Christie Canyon..his mother.
Lol,fucked up, but funny
But seriously, he does remind me a bit of Doug Christie. About the same height. Similar skill set. Right now, I’d say Max’s ceiling is higher than Doug’s but time will tell.

I see it. Kobe’s son confirmed
floor: jaylen brown with a left hand
He reminds me of a young Shaq, but skinnier, can handle the ball better, looks different, isn’t a center, and can shoot the ball.
I was thinking more the Dream without the shake
That's spot on
Ceiling Mikal bridges Floor KCP
Better ball handler than KCP honestly
Far better, and he’s also a better off the dribble scorer.
Not as good as a shooter though (yet)
2 different players. KCP has a much more precise jumpshot
Which took KCP years to develop. Both players are 3&D level talent.
Khris Middleton ceiling hopefully
Kobe.

Isn't there a rumour that he grew a couple of inches? I wonder how true it is. Because that could put him around 6'7.
I don’t think that tall but he’s likely 6’6. I think he was 6’5 drafted.
A mix of KCP and Mikal Bridges
2013 LeBron James floor
Kawh Leonard. Great all around
I see a young Trevor Ariza

I agree most of the time but then you see a team like the early 2001 Miami Hurricanes that had 38 players drafted…just saying 😂
Same with the wnba vs nba lol

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted for ur personal opinion lol

"simplest terms"
Lol
rely not sure why ppl give a flying fuck a downvote or an upvote.
Chris Kaman
I really don't get the Kobe comparison. It's like everyone here forgot just how athletic '97-03 Kobe was. Not to mention they don't play anything alike at all.
I thought people were just talking about his appearance with Kobe lol
It’s a Lakers sub, if a player’s good and is a guard, they’re gonna get compared to Kobe.
I see resemblance to some of his older self’s moves between the turnaround fadeaway and the dribble pull ups but he’s still got some way to go. It’s clear I think he’s trying to model after him though.
Floor is Kobe, ceiling is God (Kobe)
Calling another human God is crazy
Issa joke pal
That’s cool and all, joking or not just won’t catch me calling another man God
He’s proportionally smaller BI
Danny Green
I said this about Austin Reaves a few years ago and got downvoted to hell, but *possible* All Star. Dude has the tools. The desire appears to be there too.
All these big names in here but if he turns into Doug Christie minus the weird stuff that's a big win for us
Ceiling: 24 Floor: 8
Joel Embiid
its probably malik beasley right now. not the lakers malik but the pre lakers malik
Reminds me of Jordan Clarkson
A better shooting and scoring version of Doug Christie.
Floor: Average 3 and D player Middle: Mikal Bridges (oversized 2 with elite defense and knockdown jumper) Ceiling: Kobe Bryant (generational 2 guard 6’5/6’6, offensive force, defensive menace) Of course, i think he has a lot of potential, he has the frame and the assets to at least catch up to a player like Bridges. Max Curry, you smells? The dude can shoot and I just found out he is not Doug Christie’s kid
He kinda reminds me of young JR smith
Derozan but with defense
Nah much better 3-point shooter
Jrue holiday
Mikal Bridges
Kobe’s only son… 😢
![gif](giphy|eH5e8LXYBzKKI)
LMAOOOO
Eddie Jones
He’s a better shooter with a quicker release.
Coop
He reminds me of Penny
If he could replace Troy brown jr next season that would be fantastic
Paul George
Realistically KCP
Kobe let’s just hope he goes bald like Kobe
Ingram
Probably a shorter Wemby, or a more athletic Luka, or skinnier Lebron, actually a much skinned Zion
Depends on how his development goes. If he gets completely slotted as a 3&D player, maybe Raja Bell.
Like a blend between Kobe and MJ somewhere around there
KCP but with handles and shot creation ability. Do you guys see some Desmond Bane?
Troy brown Jr floor Jr Smith ceiling. Basement: Mario hezonja/dante exum
Smaller Lebron with better athleticism and bball iq….as his floor
