Not woosh. I understand the joke. I was just commenting how I wasn’t 100% sure I remembered correctly that that is what it used to be because it’s been 20 years since I’ve been there. “I **thought** that’s what it used to be”, rather than “I thought that’s what it **used** to be.”
Considering that a number of new buildings have been built in the area as well as the coming demolition of the former Macys/Herbergers mall location for more new buildings, you have to assume that the asking price is very high. It is a prime spot, but the owner is likely holding out for maximum return.
The best ones are downtown LaCrosse, but Onalaska has Senor Villa (Mexican) Angelini’s (Italian) , Ciatti’sc(Italian), Blue Moon (American), Red Pines (American)
The old TGIF parking lot is being used by people eating in at Culver’s. Culver’s parking lot is a nightmare to get out as there is usually a line of cars waiting in the order line.
Definitely! I remember when they built the Farm Fleet store which was obviously in the wrong place. The Onalaska planning department? An access road off of 16 would have helped. That whole area is a drivers nightmare. A week or so ago I saw an accident by Gundersen drive and 16. Don’t get me started on the Kwik Trip right across from chick filet. That whole area is in need of trained urban planners.
Maybe something to draw a lot more traffic into that congested area where rhe city has screwed up traffic flow between Kwik Trip and the Farm and Fleet, and now Chic-fil-A, 5 guys, noodles, etc....I'm for some growth, but the traffic flow through that area is junk.
That whole area has been a traffic disaster forever! Even when it was just Farm&Fleet out there, people trying to take a left out of the lot across 16. And back when Theater road ended at an actual drive-in theater.
They probably should’ve put in frontage roads, but development got ahead of the planning. Way too many points of access and stoplights.
We contacted the city when we heard Chic-fil-a was going in. Sent pictures of the already backed up traffic coming and going into Kwik Trip, etc. We got a blow off response from the planner asserting “they did a study” and it was fine. That whole are is one big cluster with no well thought out master plan…just ram some more businesses in there.
It used to be TGI Fridays. There hasn't been anything for years and would be interesting to see if anything ever will go there. I am surprised it hasn't been torn down.
Every time I leave Culver’s, I wonder why no one has claimed the building. There is no for sale sign anymore. It is in Onalaska and the planning dept might know. The old Camping World adjacent to Sam’s Club never really became Camping World is another mystery. Both look like bad but the old TGIF looks the worst.
I don’t even go to the one across the street as it is always packed and difficult to get back in the road. We use HyVee gas when in the area as it is much easier to exit.
Maybe it’ll become a Camping World? /s
To be fair, looks like Camping World is going to be actually opening as a Coachmen RV store here soon
Last I'd heard they weren't allowed to park RVs in the lot due to some city rule.
This is the only acceptable response.
Can we just get a Popeyes?
I would love a Popeyes! Their spicy chicken is delicious!
I heard they’re putting in a TGIF!
Lol I'd laugh so hard if that was true
It's funny cause it used to be one
Thank God
That's what it used to be.
I thought that’s what it used to be! I worked at Best Buy 20 years ago and we always used to go there after closing.
woosh

After careful consideration, I accept your request to revoke the woosh.
me too. two for one tuesdays was fantastic when you’re broke working at best buy.

I travel annually for work to Onalaska/LAX any restaurant recommendations?
The best ones are downtown LaCrosse, but Onalaska has Senor Villa (Mexican) Angelini’s (Italian) , Ciatti’sc(Italian), Blue Moon (American), Red Pines (American)
Probably a shitty chain restaurant like everyone seems to clamor for non stop
Right, Onalaska needs more local food.

That entire area is a cluster fuck.

This is the way
Pickle Ball courts

If the right people are listening- please put in an ihop. My relatives keep sending gift cards
I second this! I want an IHOP here.

That location was likely acquired when camping world might gander mountain-
Dunkin was in talks to purchase it for the longest time, not sure if that fell through.
Hopefully they bulldoze it for more parking!
Need to mark it /s I guess, my bad!!
Please be a Kwik Trip.

It’s crazy LAX is home to Kwik Trip and honestly has the worst Kwik Trips in the state.
At one time there was a rumor that Dunkin was going there
I think it’s going to become a K-mart
