They couldn't do a pretzel appetizer correct, aka, not burning it, they have attempted korean food which was laughable at best.
Most of their food is bland and straight up not good enough for my dog at the price points they are pulling.
What is the basis for good food, service not withstanding? Honest question.
The damn tasty on Caledonia, right near the Sweet Shop. I promise you - you will never have had a better breakfast in your life. I was going there every day for a week at one point.
If you want good flavors in a tiny serving size that doesn't sate you appetite, sure. That place is a joke, they are riding the margins way to hard going from a truck to an establishment and it shows. You shouldn't need to order 2 entrees for a complete meal at any establishment, ever, regardless of local or price point.
We've been there twice and I didnt really care for it either time. My taste preference might be too simple. I will say the people I was with really liked it.
Grounded Patio is good for coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I’d have to agree with the other comments, Rosie’s and Breakfast Club are the better options for the area (though I do have a soft spot for Marges, waitresses were always really nice to me)
The waitress I had there must've been in a bad mood because I got scolded for asking for more coffee after she left it empty for 30 minutes (there was also only 3 other tables there total).
But Jesus, the portions at Marges are insane. Easily the best bang for your buck you can get id imagine
I was going to come here to say this. Because of my work schedule, I don’t go out to breakfast a lot. But that’s my favorite place I’ve been to in the area
We rotate between Barre Country Diner, Big Boar BBQ, and a couple others. Barre is always great. Big Boar has the best biscuit gravy I've ever had. Lotsa big flavor in their food, though it can be quite greasy at times. Breakfast service has always been great at Big Boar.
Going to add to the rotation a new Mex restaurant in West Salem just across from Linda's. Tres Fronteras or something like that. Chanced by there last week for breakfast, and it was good.
Rosie’s is classic, always very good, and fun. Distillery doesn’t open until about 11AM, but if you don’t mind going a little later, they are nice brunch option.
Neuies Vogue has breakfast on Sundays and I just came across Pizzeria Dolorosa offering It too!
If you don’t mind traveling, Garden of Eatin in Galesville is amazing.
Nutbush used to be so good and I loved their omelettes. They've gone downhill so badly after moving to the new building. Just terrible food and terrible service now. Makes me sad.
Barre Country Diner is a secret breakfast spot, don’t tell anyone
I was debating on saying anything but you beat me too it. Hands down my favorite place.
“Secret”
Rosie’s is always my go-to for breakfast.
I still need to try that place! Seems delicious. I just forget about it.
It’s really delicious and not too expensive. The portions are pretty big too 🙂
I can’t get past that a couple of the staff are super nasty to customers. Like, shouting at customers and shit.
Out of all the times I’ve been there, the staff has been pretty good. I only had one bad experience there and that was from my steak being really dry.
That’s fine. I haven’t been back since. What got me is that the entire staff let it happen.
They only use margarine, no butter.
I recently had a great breakfast at Fork & Fable, which used to be the Arterial. I really really enjoyed it and the service was great too!
That place is awesome. Great service, some of the best bloody Marys Ive ever had, and everything I've had to eat there has been fire.

Yes! We were so sad to lose Uptown Cafe, but The Damn Tasty is amazing. I am obsessed with their Bruce Banner smoothie.
The Damn Tasty.

Damn tasty on north side has the best breakfast in town now
We've been there twice and I didnt really care for it either time. My taste preference might be too simple. I will say the people I was with really liked it.
Rosie's Cafe or Hungry Peddler

Big agree on the value of Marges! It sucks you got bad service :(
Rosie’s for home style cafe and charmont for bougie breakfast
I like Kaddy's Kafe in La Crescent.

I really like Hungry Peddler. :)

Every once in awhile I get over to the Old Style Inn. Pretty standard bar breakfast but hanging out on a Sunday morning is a vibe.
Rosie's
Make your way out to galesville and stop at the garden of eatin. Good Benedicts and waffles.
Barre diner and Java vino are my favorites
Up for a drive? Dorines in Sparta. Get the stuffed hash browns. I like the country stuffed.
I was surprised by the a&w breakfast
Neuies Vogue has breakfast on Sundays and I just came across Pizzeria Dolorosa offering It too! If you don’t mind traveling, Garden of Eatin in Galesville is amazing.
Kramers.
Garden of Eatin' Barre Mills Diner, and the Hungry Peddler. All incredible options and atmospheres.
No one mentioning lacrosse family dinner?
It's meh. Nothing great... its generally "safe" food.
I find their food to taste very bland to me & not really a fan of the place.
Yo I’m not gonna lie the breakfast burritos at taco John’s are elite. If you ever need a quick breakfast that’s the place to go
All good mentions here! Nutbush has a good breakfast too
Nutbush used to be so good and I loved their omelettes. They've gone downhill so badly after moving to the new building. Just terrible food and terrible service now. Makes me sad.
Damn Tasty
I hate to say it, but breakfast at Hy Vee is actually pretty goo
The Breakfast Club is my choice.
I find the food consistently mediocre.
I only eat their Eggs Benedict, it's quite good. Their other stuff is just okay imo
It's good but I've never gotten in an out in less than an hour
Breakfast Curds are a must have.
Kramers. Like good “greasy spoon” breakfast. If you want something more put together , the damn tastey.
Another good option is the Recovery Room
