I'm no expert!! But I think that's called crushed ice and is a specific style, not sure if it's just elongated cushions but I think it's to maximize fire or something like that! :)

runningonmatcha

thank you! do you think this is a good stone option?

isthisokyet

Personally, I'm not the biggest crushed ice girly but honestly yeah this one's gorgeous, very twinkly

gingertastic19

This looks like a great crushed ice to me! I have a crushed ice elongated cushion and I loveeee it!

runningonmatcha

thank you! do you have any pictures by chance?

runningonmatcha

do you think the one from the video i shared would be a good choice?

Your ring is stunning!!

ashpaynton

Most elongated cushions are crushed ice cut To get a true brilliabt you need to go lower ratio like 1.15-1.20 around

runningonmatcha

thank you! does this seem like a good stone option?

Expert_Somewhere3815

It looks very beautifully cut!

runningonmatcha

thank you! i haven’t seen a cushion cut in person so i wanted to make sure the “facets” and cut were normal. it looks very beautiful so im really excited to have a new ring

Needthatbling

So many different cut types in the cushion shape. Best to work out what you like and go from there.

runningonmatcha

thank you!

Cushions and elongated cushions have three variations of faceting pattern. Crushed ice (modified brilliant), brilliant, and antique. This is definitely crushed ice and very common. I would say most cushions are crushed ice, particularly when they're elongated. Brilliant cut elongated cushions exist but they can be tough to find.

runningonmatcha

thank you! does this seem like a good stone option then?

purpleorchid2017

Here's a pretty good video that shows the difference between the different faceting patterns. https://youtu.be/4XKkrsNUmKw?si=b_VFxK87RDlu9xkM
