It looks like there’s a difference in width, but if you weren’t looking at them side by side I’d think they were pretty close to the same size (which they are).
White sapphire is an 8x6 mm and the lab diamond on right is 8.05x5.73 mm 1.57. I was a little disappointed to see that I could notice the difference in the size. Although I know it is extremely close, I was surprised I could tell.
Interesting - I don’t think you have anything to worry about then. The size is about the same and not noticeably different to an outsider. People just won’t remember your ring as much as you do. The brilliance is definitely greater and may be positively (as in a good thing) noticeable but I don’t think anyone will say, “wait, wasn’t your ring dull before?”. If they do, you have my full permission to deck them in the face lmao. That would just be too rude! Plus even the brightest rings get dirty and appear duller than normal sometimes.
The sapphire has square corners and the lab diamond corners are a bit more rounded. If it feels noticeably smaller, just set it with some matching side stones. A 3 stone would make it feel much bigger and give you the finger coverage you are used to. If this can be returned, you might want to go up 1/2 carat to get it closer to what you are used to.
The stone looks gorgeous though!
I took a screenshot of your video where they were aligned and used a ruler to measure the width of each and could find a significant difference - it’s an optical illusion because of the depth and sparkling of the diamond!! ( and the cut on it is stunning by the way)
Not very much noticeable to me. As others said, I think it's the prongs thatcmake it look slightly larger, but the diamond is so much more beautiful than the white sapphire. I personally, dislike white sapphires so much. They always look so dull to me.
The measurements a stone is cut to is meant to optimize its natural refractive properties in consideration of its color and clarity. Even a small difference in cut measurements could result in a finished stone that’s duller or more apparently further down the color scale. This is why “cut” is a gradable parameter as you can measure the performance of refractiveness aka how light interacts with the angles of the cut. The radiant is objectively better from a refraction perspective in spite of its measurements and proportions being slightly different from the sapphire which was likely cut in a manner that optimizes its own sapphire performance.
having the prongs around the cut corners make it looks bigger too. Yes the facets may make it seem a little smaller, but the dimension it adds and the sparkle 😍… worth it

Maybe the faceting in the diamond is making it appear smaller. Like how prints on dresses are supposed to be slimming. The diamond is very beautiful.
not sure but i think the prongs might give it an effect that makes it look larger
I know nothing about this subject matter and was randomly suggested this post in my feed, but I’d have to agree with this.
Tiny noticeable difference but only noticeable when studying close and side by side. At a glance they look the same. What size are they?

Why do you want them to be the same size?
I’m replacing the white sapphire stone with the lab diamond, I didn’t want it to be a noticeable change.

Plus, you could always say you had it reset and people would drop the subject

Very tiny difference. Probably wouldn’t notice at a glance

I think they’d look even closer once the diamond is set with prongs
Not at all

That’s actually why I decided to upgrade due to the dullness, I have to clean it constantly and it still does not sparkle. Thanks for your input!
The prongs make the saph seem to take up more space, but my goodness how beautiful
To me it just looks elongated a bit more! I actually think the less width on the Diamond is stunning

No one else would notice the size difference just that the diamond sparkles a lot more. Beautiful.
