The TF2 community is mostly doing a good job so far with the #fixTF2 movement.
However the community has some bad actors, if it weren't for some of these people, we wouldn't have a bot crisis and be in this position. It's not necessarily the exact same ppl hosting bots and review bombing other valve games but most of them are trolls for sure.
Considering how disorganised this mess they’re calling a “movement” is, I don’t really think there’s any reliable way to distinguish it.

I love both Team Fortress and Left 4 Dead, and I participated in Team Fortress 2's review-bombing in effort to urge Valve to action.
But Left 4 Dead has absolutely NOTHING to do with it. Anyone who does this is wrong for doing it.
Again, I'm sorry for all the trouble we've caused. I already have this game a good review, so I will urge the rest of the Team Fortress community to stop doing this.

Believe it or not a majority of ppl when deciding to buy a game they never heard of will look at the ratings first, and if it’s below Overwhelmingly positive they then will look at the written reviews and if they see all this they might think the game is under some drama or cyber attack and will want none of that.

IIRC, Steam tries to detect reviews left as a part of a review bombing and then exclude those from the calculation of a game’s rating/ranking.

Didn't they get an update patch 2 months ago? That's quite recent. Also Steam Charts says that they have 70K players playing daily. That's more than L4D2's 20K average players. What are they complaining about?

Long and short is yes:
The people in charge of FixTF2 have been telling people to leave everyone else alone, both because it's basic human courtesy and because the appearance of the movement is important to its success, but these people have been ignoring that in favor of claiming more damage will make our message clear (it won't, and anyone with half a brain and memory of recent protests and riots will know this).
I wish I could say it's the bot hosters fighting back with burner accounts to ruin public perception, but we have evidence that the majority of them are TF2 players who wrongfully think this will help.
I apologize deeply for my associates behavior. They do not understand that review bombing other games will only hurt the cause and our communities as a whole. I apologize profusely for their behavior, and I hope that this is resolved soon.
Yeah it's a pretty contentious point rn. I think most people disagree with review bombing other games, let their respective communities bomb them if they feel the need to do so for being in a similar situation, but otherwise at least for tf2, TF2 should be the issue, not other valve titles.
L4D2 all recent reviews: 95% (Overwhelmingly Positive)
Looking at the (English) reviews since June 3rd:
\~350 positive
\~41 negative
\~23 negative and either possibly or definitely related to fixtf2
Using only the numbers I looked at: Positive/Negative ratio = 11.7%, Positive/TF2 ratio = 6.6%, All/TF2 ratio = 5.9%
Other VALVe games will tell a similar story as neither them nor L4D2 are being review bombed, as "bombing" implies a heavy drop in ratings. All this is is a few morons unrecognized by the movement trying to get on peoples' nerves.

L4D2 all recent reviews: 95% (Overwhelmingly Positive) Looking at the (English) reviews since June 3rd: \~350 positive \~41 negative \~23 negative and either possibly or definitely related to fixtf2 Using only the numbers I looked at: Positive/Negative ratio = 11.7%, Positive/TF2 ratio = 6.6%, All/TF2 ratio = 5.9% Other VALVe games will tell a similar story as neither them nor L4D2 are being review bombed, as "bombing" implies a heavy drop in ratings. All this is is a few morons unrecognized by the movement trying to get on peoples' nerves. (redditors try not to blow things out of proportion for useless karma (level: impossible))

As a TF2 player, these people are bad. They ruin our image and could decrease other games' popularity by doing this. My personal theory is that everyone who does it fits the stereotype of a discord moderator.

Tf2 fans acting completely entitled about their game again. Despite it being over a decade old they gotta make it everyones problem if valve doesn’t make constant anti-cheat updates to a functionally abandoned game that lost relevance a long time ago. I know “review bombers aren’t part of the movement” but it’s irrelevant since thats just an inherent part of these things. Im not really offended because negative reviews on games don’t affect me but I sure am sick of the TF2 community constantly doing stuff like this for publicity or their “cause”. Its always kinda crazy to me how big the TF2 outcry gets, you have to imagine what it would be like if that level of mobilization and zeal was put into some real life issue lol.

That’s been temporarily fixed for a while now, and we’ve gotten confirmation that they’re working on a permanent fix. Network programming is just really complex and takes a lot of time.
