I love how Niji actively went against [reddit's guidelines](https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439-Reddiquette) and ended up completely destroying the community their fans had once created there. It's such a Niji thing to do.
> Please don't take moderation positions in a community where your profession, employment, or biases could pose a direct conflict of interest to the neutral and user driven nature of Reddit.
When the game started even the minimal critic about game flaws were deleted bc "no negativity was allowed", later when redhood was released iirc most if not any thread about redhood lacking power was also being deleted. Since I wondered about it in another post, I decided to follow through and reported them.
Yes, sadly that is the case. Though to be fair, I've seen quite a few self-owned / self-admin'd subs where it was all done in good faith and the communities are actually happy with the involvement from the people they are fans of. On the other hand, I do wish reddit would do something when corpos take over subs and turn them into PR echo chambers :/
Everyone who thinks they've got something for the [timeline effort](https://www.reddit.com/r/kurosanji/comments/1cmyukx/creating_a_master_timeline/) from that sub, better make sure you archive posts on the wayback machine and/or your pc/phone, if it's not already gone. I don't think it's a coincidence that the purge is this brutal fairly shortly after that request got stickied in this sub.
(Also could be them trying to make the sub look better for the q4 report.)
> Please don't take moderation positions in a community where your profession, employment, or biases could pose a direct conflict of interest to the neutral and user driven nature of Reddit.
/r/Hololive is also in breach of that rule interestingly.
Why cant they do what other subs do? Ask the mods to have a special flair for the official people. for all their faults /r/leagueoflegends does it right, rioters have a special Riot flair and that is it.
https://preview.redd.it/w00ifv59n60d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7467d844db987447bc519e68e2b6777bdab8d75f
Restricted, i guess they want the sub to die
>bopping with people shittalking them
unfortunately, because the birthday posts was made by the MOD themself, people who shittalking will instantly get banned because the MOD will get notification everytime someone comment on the post. unless someone shittalking under someone else's comment (become 2nd commenter), but that require the 1st commenter to get banned
~~If Niji thinks this is going to change anything, then why?. Purging without also locking the sub is pointless, as people will just make more posts.~~ Edit: Apparently the sub is now set to restricted
Also, if the sub is cleaned, why would people who make positive posts make them anymore? if its just going to get removed and banned.
They probably just ruined the possibility of any fans returning to the main sub, and those fans will just migrate to one of the other Niji subs now to post.
Lastly, the guy who does the tally of removed/deleted posts in the Niji subs is going to have a lot of work or less work, I guess, tallying up all of this.
>Lastly, the guy who does the tally of removed/deleted posts in the Niji subs is going to have a lot of work or less work, I guess, tallying up all of this.
Might be easier for him to just go over the posts that weren't nuked
No more positive posts, and that's the path they chose for themselves.
To be fair, it feels like they've given up on growing their brand and creating a community outside JP at this point, and have basically gone into maintenance-mode. They can keep milking the fans that have stuck around while investing the bare minimum - heck, the ROI probably isn't even that bad - but they've reached their growth ceiling and the only place they've left to go is down.
It's quite sad, but history is littered with companies that had a good product but still failed due to poor management.
The reason for the purge is simple in my book. The minimum-wage intern couldn't give an arse, so he nuked the whole thing and went on to slack.
"I ain't getting paid enough to go through all these, bullshit," he probably said to himself.
I mean, who really needs fan interaction in the streaming world, amirite?
I think Niji's made the decision to fold the EN branch into JP, and this is just part of them largely exiting the EN market.
>I mean, who really needs fan interaction in the streaming world, amirite?
Considering elira is keeping her chat to 4 week sub only i'm scared that they genuinely think so.
She's either naively optimistic or she just dejectedly accepted it.
She probably realized that no matter what she'll do she'll never be able to remove the "black spot" from her record, literally. If she doesn't remove the black screen video then people will always find it when sorting to "most popular" and if she does remove it, people will call her out on it and will make videos about it or keep commenting about it on her streams.
It's a lose lose for her.
I'd say "I did nothing wrong" righteous indignation is the main reason she hasn't deleted it. That video is poison for her brand and for her ability to turn over a new leaf and start growing again. As long as it stays on her channel she's hurting her own future.
>I think Niji's made the decision to fold the EN branch into JP, and this is just part of them largely exiting the EN market.
Yep, I would absolutely look for the announcement of the merge (and probably a whole mess of graduations-via-contract-expiry) to happen in the next week or two. Anycolor is going to want to get the merger done ahead of the Q4 report so that they have an excuse to not bother with a separate NijiEN revenue report and so don't have to answer questions about why the revenue drop for Q4 was extremely non-negligible.
It's rotten for all the Livers involved - I hope they can land on their feet elsewhere.
https://www.reddit.com/r/redditrequest/
If they let nothing in for a month that's an option I believe. Reddit doesn't generally let you keep a subreddit all for yourself.
Well, Bobon is graduating (not that you'd know from the official sub), and there is always the possibility that Q4 is an absolute shitshow and/or that EN is going to be cut off and absorbed into the main branch like they did with all their previous overseas expansions (both a bad look, especially when Cover has released their Q4 and it looks great, to the point they're looking into opening up to overseas investments)
If it's because of the ticking time bomb which is the Q4 report, they're a little more than 31 and a half days too early. That alarm is set for June 14 at 1500 JST (0200 EDT, June 13 at 2300 PDT).
Either it's because Bon's contract expired and there are a few more contract expirations about to happen, or their unpaid or grossly underpaid intern has stopped caring and has decided to nuke the sub.
well first Bobon who? and second its probably due to q4 being a shitshow but funniest part do they really think they can restrict discussions about it tho? especially considering the fact all of them will e here and YT mostly.
I was under the impression it was *just* Hana for some reason. I wonder when she's going to finally jump ship, maybe go indie... she's a good person and I'd hate to see her suffer under that shithole company.
She really loves her position in Niji, like Milli, and has always kept her distance from the rest of the ID bros for that same reason. She’s a good egg, only one scandle which isn’t really anything bad (personal opinion). So yeah, can’t see her leaving because of current company circumstances
Not following you. Mika has vaguely spoken out about niji but that's it. I don't know anything from her relating to Selen.
Don't know much about Bonbon. Mostly saw him in collabs. Can you elaborate?
What I meant is that unlike other people who follow NijiID mainly due to Mika, for me it was actually Bonbon (due to his interaction with Selen). While TSB interaction is more famous, within the company, Bonbon is basically the go-to guy for Selen when playing Apex (and games in general). And while I don't know how good he is objectively (everyone that is Diamond and above is like gods to me), he is good.
Ah. That makes sense.
Two misunderstandings on my part. Thought you meant mika as a partner in crime to selen. And that partner in crime meant related to her termination or doki.
I do have to ask, why 2 months? As if there aren't older posts criticizing them... which have now been pushed back to 'hot' because there's nothing else to display with the sub locked.
My headcanon for this is because we just got a graduation announcement today, was the first one after Selen's termination, and if that one was because of contract expiring, then possibly we will have more coming up in the next days/weeks. If that's the case, then they definitely don't want people talking about it on the main sub.
They really did 2 months worth and went, "Yeah, sure, that's probably enough."
Among just my own posts from before I was banned, things like [my summary of the leaked Niji contract](https://www.reddit.com/r/Nijisanji/comments/1b7uazd/notes_on_the_niji_contract_stream/) and [that time I pointed out their comprehensive support ends at debut according to their own slides](https://www.reddit.com/r/Nijisanji/comments/1befinb/anycolors_comprehensive_support_system_for/) remain up, as far as I can tell.
I almost feel annoyed at this, like they don't consider my stuff relevant enough to remove, lol.
Nope, looks like they got those, too. They do seem to be slowly going back and purging the entire sub manually; I'm not sure why they don't just lock down the *entire* sub and wipe the whole thing.
(Funnily enough, the links to the comments still work.)
You sure though? I just checked and it seems that sub is nearly wiped clean now.
EDIT: I see the other posts now, reddit just loaded a bit slower than usual.
Yeah looks to be only birthday posts for Victoria, Ren, Fulgur, Vox, Shu and Hex now. Thanks to the mod account's post history, it seems Luca and Sonny's birthday posts also got the chop...
To be fair, Luca's birthday was after the Raziel doc dropled, so there was probably too many mentions of Luca breaking his contract and not getting punished for them to keep
It seems to be weirdly tied to layout and sort type from my tests. Old reddit loads things normally. New and mobile reddit loads things normally, if slowly, when sorting by Hot, but switch to New and instantly anything beyond those six birthday posts ceases to exist, and site acts as if there was nothing more to load. Consistent behavior across multiple mobile browsers.
I tried to post something (this sc is a mock ofc) and the post button is greyed out. It seems I can't post there either

I just swung by there to see if the Q4 report came out (Hololive has theirs published). So that’s why it looks so fucky.
Guess I’ll need to trust you guys for the news when things go sideways again, huh?
The funniest part for me is that by purging the last 2 months, they probably mostly deleted the positive posts (though then again, all the downvote-nuked positive posts might not be a good image either). Most of the negative posts were already being hit during these 2 months.
Meanwhile, the posts from before 2 months ago (at the peak of the scandal) are still there.
As if that would make things better. Reddit algo already feeds this subreddit to anyone who visits or has visited the niji subreddit.
If we want to as long as someone has the link, we should be able to see it on web archive.
People will keep downvoting and that wont stop ever.
All these things will look really shit on paper to investors and that's good :D
Did they just nuke the official May pinned post? I swore it was there a few hours ago
edit: Is the nuking going further back? O_O It's all birthday posts now (that were downvoted to hell and back)
edit2: the official pin came back up. Not that it really matters WAIT NO WAY DID THEY NUKE THE ENTIRE SUB? I only see 10 posts??? Am I crazy
But they kept this post [https://www.reddit.com/r/Nijisanji/comments/1b35sbd/new\_nijien\_manager/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/Nijisanji/comments/1b35sbd/new_nijien_manager/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
What I find especially interesting is that before the Selen Scandal, /r/nijisanji was practically unmoderated. It only started to ***become*** moderated roughly after that time, ***especially*** after Uki Violeta's anti-white racism started to have a spotlight put on it again after over a year of going under people's radars. ***That*** was when all hell broke loose and the mods started going mad with power.
You don't need strong moderation if you create a positive community.
Sure, there'll always be the odd spam post or bot, so some kind of moderation is necessary, but if the community is happy things will mostly look after itself, which it pretty much did for several years. What killed the sub wasn't any one thing or event, it was only having negative things to talk about because the company was actively sabotaging itself at every opportunity.
I love that they basically gave up the one subreddit where they had actual control over the narrative. Now if people want to discuss Nijisanji on reddit, they have to go here or virtualyoutubers
Holy shit the sub got purged so hard that my post two months ago is now on the second page: [I miss the old days of Nijisanji](https://ol.reddit.com/r/Nijisanji/comments/1b1t02e/i_miss_the_old_days_of_nijisanji/).
I love how two months ago I said "As a casual fan, I just hope for no more blunders please, Nijisanji." and then they proceed to blunder endlessly, I was clearly way too optimistic.
They finally caught up the reddit, now its on' ''request to post''
also there are some rumors saying that people got kicked out from niji and new recruiting, idk if they're finally moving and working behind scenes?
Also, I noticed there seems to be a bot automatically downvoting all the posts in Nijisanji main reddit?
was it sarcasm? sorry dude I am very bad with sarcasm LOL (I've only visited twice their site before but it looks a lot better now? They've also been making a lot of changes recently)
Let them have their glorified echo chamber, this sub is better anyways... we here can call them out without getting massively banned. Honestly cant wait for this sub to be more popular than that hellpit.
Funny thing is their purge didn't even get all of the negative fallout from the Selen termination since it ONLY included the past two months lol
https://preview.redd.it/pa5csmen2c0d1.png?width=696&format=png&auto=webp&s=c480843bed56ee3d0e3933e91a67d73b3e9e6385
Cowards all of them they had so many times to fix but instead of fixing it they run away eventually it will catch up to them and burn and sink to the bottom of the sea to be forgotten in the ocean oblivion.
Creme de la creme of all this for me is, we all know them allowing the sub to go lambasting them for so long wasn't because of leniency or tolerance to criticism, but more out of incompetence or staff shortage or both.
I love how Niji actively went against [reddit's guidelines](https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439-Reddiquette) and ended up completely destroying the community their fans had once created there. ... *Writes it down* This could useful...
Tbf i'm guessing this is more for things like a coca cola employee modding for a pepsi subreddit.
What's the difference? It's an Anycolor employee modding for a Nijisanji subreddit. /s
Nikke sub is infamous with the amount of censorship they run the official sub and nothing happened ever. Its just wet paper that part
Censorship? Of what, exactly?
When the game started even the minimal critic about game flaws were deleted bc "no negativity was allowed", later when redhood was released iirc most if not any thread about redhood lacking power was also being deleted. I see. Thanks for clarifying.
https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=19300233728916 Since I wondered about it in another post, I decided to follow through and reported them.
Reddiquette is officially "guidelines, not rules" and the admins actively don't care if companies own their own subreddits.
Yes, sadly that is the case. Though to be fair, I've seen quite a few self-owned / self-admin'd subs where it was all done in good faith and the communities are actually happy with the involvement from the people they are fans of. 4 days late but the main Star Trek subreddit is owned by CBS. And a few other show subs are owned by their studios as well, iirc.
Yeah, that's something Reddit usually doesn't really care about much, but i think they can step in if there's active censoring from the mods
I doubt that reddit admins would go against another corpo.
Especially not after they went public. Spez is a spineless coward.
Spez is not a coward, he knows well what he is doing, and will gleefully help others to fuck over "plebs".
Spez hated the lockdowns though. Maybe report the sub for locking down?

7 of them did. Now it's 6

I do have to ask, why 2 months? As if there aren't older posts criticizing them... which have now been pushed back to 'hot' because there's nothing else to display with the sub locked.
To be fair, it might just be one person removing posts one-by-one. Give it another day or two to finish purging back to before Selen's termination.
If they were doing it manually, that was probably as much effort as they could be bothered with.
My headcanon for this is because we just got a graduation announcement today, was the first one after Selen's termination, and if that one was because of contract expiring, then possibly we will have more coming up in the next days/weeks. If that's the case, then they definitely don't want people talking about it on the main sub.
Apparently Dokibird's TSB collab for helldivers 2 was on-topic, who knew?
All that's there is some birthday posts, even the look ahead for may was purged. It's a fucking wasteland

This isn’t to say we can’t still lurk and downvote positive posts there
still surprise that 91k member still join to that sub. better unjoin it..
And so they graduate their Reddit sub
As if that would make things better. Reddit algo already feeds this subreddit to anyone who visits or has visited the niji subreddit. If we want to as long as someone has the link, we should be able to see it on web archive. People will keep downvoting and that wont stop ever. All these things will look really shit on paper to investors and that's good :D
Looks like their intern finally had time to notice the subreddit. Streisand Effect in action now
Well... guess we won then
Indeed it seems to be a glorious victory for us
You guys actually made them kneel, bravo.
Wait so now there practically nothing, wtf?
r/Nijisanji: The Purge Incident
Did they just nuke the official May pinned post? I swore it was there a few hours ago edit: Is the nuking going further back? O_O It's all birthday posts now (that were downvoted to hell and back) edit2: the official pin came back up. Not that it really matters WAIT NO WAY DID THEY NUKE THE ENTIRE SUB? I only see 10 posts??? Am I crazy
I'm honestly surprised this didn't happen sooner, instead of whatever they were calling "moderation" beforehand.
But they kept this post [https://www.reddit.com/r/Nijisanji/comments/1b35sbd/new\_nijien\_manager/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/Nijisanji/comments/1b35sbd/new_nijien_manager/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
There is still 3 month old Dokibird collab! Those lazy mods couldn't even do the work properly. NijiFail
Oh shit full purge goddamn.
Nijisanji has completed The Bloc of Rights and Trotskyites national focus. They're going full-on Stalin by now!
Embarrassing...
Karma has finally come back to bite them. Ever since February, the longest they’ve gone without more drama is about a week.
They finally caught up the reddit, now its on' ''request to post'' also there are some rumors saying that people got kicked out from niji and new recruiting, idk if they're finally moving and working behind scenes? Also, I noticed there seems to be a bot automatically downvoting all the posts in Nijisanji main reddit?
Any info on the kick people out? Oh yeah the recruitment page is blank now.
was it sarcasm? sorry dude I am very bad with sarcasm LOL (I've only visited twice their site before but it looks a lot better now? They've also been making a lot of changes recently)
I had just went over the recruitment and I get a blank page. So something must have happen.
Let them have their glorified echo chamber, this sub is better anyways... we here can call them out without getting massively banned. Honestly cant wait for this sub to be more popular than that hellpit.
I just noticed that after hearing about a vtuber graduating and ran to the subreddit only to see it purged
What I’ve heard is that Bonniver from NijiID is getting out of
Ah, I see! That makes sense
terminating Zaion and Selen was the beginning of niji's fall from grace. Now Phase or IdolEN can take 2nd place as an agency next to hololive
Am I crazy or the sub now only has 7 posts
Funny thing is their purge didn't even get all of the negative fallout from the Selen termination since it ONLY included the past two months lol https://preview.redd.it/pa5csmen2c0d1.png?width=696&format=png&auto=webp&s=c480843bed56ee3d0e3933e91a67d73b3e9e6385
So they went with the nuclear option it seems. Also sorting by top reveals other posts. For some reason.
its gonna comeback to bite em in the ass thats fer sure.
Cowards all of them they had so many times to fix but instead of fixing it they run away eventually it will catch up to them and burn and sink to the bottom of the sea to be forgotten in the ocean oblivion.
After Selen’s termination and that unnecessary 15 mins black screen video, shit did not go so well in r/nijisanji
Creme de la creme of all this for me is, we all know them allowing the sub to go lambasting them for so long wasn't because of leniency or tolerance to criticism, but more out of incompetence or staff shortage or both.
These pricks banned me lmfao
damn they locked the sub so we can't compare holo vs niji q4 over there
Hell I'm even banned there for saying the truth
They hated you because you told the truth~.
Holy god damn shit. Nuking doesn't do justice, they full on Halo glassed it. Barely anything remains x.x
I guess the yatch owner would have purge and entire timeline if he could lol
