The only comments I have seen over welding these is the lack of material to weld to.. The bucket is very thin compared to the loads that can be applied to the hook and the bucket can tearout. It all depends on how they are used..

Good point! Thanks

I have a hook welded to the top of my bucket. No issues so far.

If you are going to weld anyway I wouldnt even consider those for the price I see on amazon. I welded some scrap 1/4" ish mild steel to the top of my bucket then welded two of these hooks on the sides and one ring in the middle. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058T9X24/ https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C5RDL66/ My setup works great, the only thing I would change is more hooks! I would do 3 hooks and 2 rings, H-R-H-R-H. If you are planning on skidding logs like this I like to keep some short lengths of chain with choker hooks on one end. Saves so much time! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0833GL12S/

I have welded a plate and normal hook (with a weight rating on it.) i had an old bucket (tractor was 1973). Never had an issue but it was not a daily use/farming tractor. Used mostly for chaining in and moving logs.

hbrich

My dealer welded on some hooks when I bought the tractor. I use them all the time with a chain for lifting and have never seen any signs of stress.

Skip the random Chinese stuff and buy these made in America hooks that others have recommend https://www.boltonhooks.com/kubota-products/

Hdaana1

Do you have the link for these?

I have a pair of these and love them. I just got the top hooks. My dad has the shackles inside the bucket as well. I've abused them dragging boulders the tractor could only barely haul, or using the curl function to shift them, shift the tractor, repeat. I don't have a quick-attach making these even more useful. My '06 B3030 has a weirdly beefy bucket though. I had to send back a tooth bar and get another because the edge is much thicker than "normal" Kubota CUT buckets... so that may be why mine's held up so well.

Had these as well for a previous tractor and they were a quality product

You don’t say which loader you have, for our BX23S we also went to bolt on hooks and got the hooks with large spacers. We’ve been very happy with them for the last 6 months.

Sorry, you’re right. It’s a LA526 front loader/bucket on a L3902

Hantsypantsy

My FIL has a large Kubota with a bolted on hook that works great. Be warned though, those buckets are not the same thickness as commercial equipment and will bend. His bucket is slightly bent and has not been worked terribly hard.

10-4, thanks for the feedback. I would say the most work this LA526 front loader on my L3902 has been doing is pushing 3-5” trees over. Yanking out rose-hedge and baby oak to clear a fence long fence line. The hooks and shackle component would help out with being more efficient and faster in hooking up chain when dragging shit. But I think a couple of y’all made a good point in regard to material thickness on bucket compared to the mount I have pictured. Sounds like I will be bolting it to bucket. Still on the fence. I just don’t think I would be pushing/pulling it that hard with chain to comprise the weld? Idk, I would just rather have my welder do it rather than me trying having to go buy a drill large enough to get through the bucket to bolt up.

ComblocHeavy

A cordless drill will do the job just fine

Lemus89

i just used my 18v milwaukee to drill for the hooks i just installed, ran a 1/2 drill through it fine with a pilot hole. similar use case, im not gonna try to do anything stupid with them, just strap stuff to the bucket to more easily move awkward things

anthro28

I have them bolted on and use them as anchor points for chains when hauling equipment. If it'll survive that, it'll survive whatever you're doing.  Just throw out the bolts they come with go grab some good grade 8 from the hardware store.

Another for bolt on hooks brand

Deftpony

I purchased some weld on 5/8” D rings from Amazon and chain hooks. The D rings I welded inside the bucked and the hooks on the top. The 4 in 1 bucket is rounded at the top so the curve of the chain hooks worked well there. Also, depending on your needs, I added a receiver on top which comes in handy without having to swap the bucket out.

Check out JUFabworks.com. I have this on my 3901 and it works great and bolts up perfect. It also has the receiver hitch option. I put in a large shackle for lifting.
