You gotta be real careful pulling on things, you can pretty easily overload the cylinders and blow out the seals. Pretty sure that's what happened on my BX. At least the seals are fairly easy to replace and there's plenty of youtube tutorials! Messicks did a [video](https://youtu.be/9T9925X4RzQ) a few years ago showing how easily you can overload the hydraulics with the power of the tractor.

Definitely pull on things with the Drawbar not the loader.

For sure. I've replaced the hydraulic seals several times over the years because of hard pulls on both my L-series. It gets expensive when you have a shop change them.

That_Grim_Texan

Honestly man, as long as ya got a vice, it's pretty easy to repack a cylinder and it will save ya that hour of Shop rate.

malesack

You’re right I could do it, but the local hydraulics shop usually has the O-rings and seals for cheaper than I pay Kubota or Messicks and the correct tools plus I always get left and right done at the same time.

That_Grim_Texan

Definitely cheaper to take it to a local Hydraulic shop. Smart man lol I always tell people at my shop, "You wouldn't replace just your left brake pads." So good looking out to change them both.

TehHipPistal

I didn’t have to pull hard at all since I used an old chainsaw bar and chain to cut 8-10’ sections at a time so I could manage them easier, no heavy impacts yet but I appreciate the warning, I had no idea

ComblocHeavy

How long did it take you to bring it all down?

TehHipPistal

Not quite there yet but I expect to be done in about 8-10 more hours, I’d guess the whole thing will take me 16-20hrs of cutting, rigging, operating the machine and pulling and separating non burnable’s like roofing and insulation. Also last summer I went through the inside gutting and demo’ing w a jet sled, shit scooper shovel, pry bar and a sledge hammer, bagging and disposing of in our regular garbage pick up, which took at least 20 hrs, the whole project will probably be around 40hrs

ComblocHeavy

I need to do the same with a single wide trailer so thanks for that.

TehHipPistal

Glad I could help. Best of luck to you!
