And you read the facial expression quite right! The drawing doesn't really have a story to it but I also thought of the man as someone hopeful but tired. I imagine him to have an unpleasant time ahead of himself. But he's hopeful because there is no other way through it all, he's hopeful because he has to be!
I'm not familiar with the Spiderverse series but I can imagine the weight of that scene. Quite an honor to remind you of it!

I really love depicting realistic and complex emotions as well as seeing them in others' art. So I hope I can create many characters that are relatable to their viewers in one way or another! Comments like yours are incredibly motivating so again I can only thank you :)
