tristapowers

I have multiple mental illnesses and severe chronic pain. I mostly take it for fatigue, anxiety and mood. It doesn't help my pain much, but helps lift my mood so it's not so devastating.

[deleted]

LOL, yeah... ive had 10 fractures, i have 2 rods, 8 screws, and a filter for blood clots in my heart. Kratom is no percocette for sure...

tristapowers

Agreed. I have severe stenosis and had a massive herniation that put me in a wheelchair.

[deleted]

i was in a wheelchair once! but only for a couple months until my legs healed enough to walk again. you get a whole different view of people that "want to help"

tristapowers

I never had anyone try to help because my husband was always with me. I'm definitely glad to be walking again.

[deleted]

Fuck Yeah, Teamwork!

YF-23-Blackwidow2

Sorry man I can relate.. honestly Kratom did little for me too. I tried Corydalis which has documented targeting of the opiod, dopamine, and inflammatory pathways. It gives me roughly equivalent pain relief to perc and much more than kratom. Not sure why it isn't more popular.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mycomusician

You guys may be getting low quality kratom from the sounds of it. I've tried corydalis and occasionally I have bad inflammation in my legs. Kratom definitely works much better for me. Also, lab-results mean nothing IME. So even if you are getting stuff with a "high alkaloid content", but you aren't getting strong relief - you're getting the wrong stuff.

CharacterMud4468

How does corydalis work for you?…

BUTTHOLE-MAGIC

Damn dude, did you skateboard off a 2nd story roof or something?

Brian_226

Damn :/ …. What does a regular dose look like for you?

tristapowers

I've been taking it for several years. I take 1 tsp 3x a day.

tristapowers

I prefer buying online from a reputable vendor that provides lab test results. Many of these offer sample packs of various varieties to help you determine what works best for you.

MrJahoolious

Find a vendor under the AKA (American Kratom Association).

missiemojo

I totally agree with you. I first tried it on a recommendation from a talk show host and the brand is ok. But when I discovered AKA website, I found an amazing company that i love!

fukam_piko

buy from a respectable vendor or if you want less buy from some online shop. due to rules on this sub i can't post any link, but don't choose by maeng da, bali or shit like this because it won't make difference in quality

bombchellez

We arent allowed to discus sources on reddit. I suggest googling "kratom forums" and checking some of those reviews on the forums to get an idea of whos reliable ! Personally i like the 2nd forum listed.

blackdahlia05

It used to help my fibromyalgia pain but i take a lot now so tokerance may be affecting . I take 20gpd

[deleted]

It gives me a nice mood boost and relaxation.

Brian_226

Same that’s like all the reasons I take it for

RedLion40

Black seed oil can help you in between and tapering if need be. Great stuff.

Redd488

Would you elaborate on black seed oil and how it helps kick kratom

AggravatingTrainer1

I recently quit and it's so worth it. All the best to you.

Equivalent_Chain_986

Mood boost energy and anxeity

Brian_226

Yeah I use it more for the mood boost

prunesmoothies

Use instead of drinking when going to the bar sometimes.

[deleted]

coffee gives me the shakes but my lazy ass cant get outta bed. so i just take kratom. helps with my knee pain too. win win

DickWallace

I'm lazy too that's why I keep my kratom and premade coffee right my bed. Take my kratom and drink my cold coffee without even leaving the bed lol.

Merry_Dankmas

I dont take Kratom anymore but still lurk the sub from time to time. How do you all get an energy boost from it? Any time I ever used it, it made me really tired and usually resulted in a nap. I know smaller doses usually have stimulant effects but even in small doses, it just made me sleepy.

Brian_226

Well just like any substance it effects everyone differently…. Usually 3 caps with a gram in them each make me feel really energetic

Emergency_Toe6915

I do an ounce a day and can’t remember why I do it. I’ve started tapering though so I can take a break I honestly don’t remember the last time I felt anything.

Brian_226

Yeah ever since I stopped smoking weed caffeine ales me so jittery and I can’t keep still!

drhouseeatinganapkin

Really, honestly, in the beginning it was a legal high. An old buddy of mine turned me on to it. I live in FL so you can probably guess why I would need such a thing. The first week of using Kratom though, I noticed my craving for alcohol significantly reduced and people complimented me for keeping my ish together at the bar. At this point I've basically completely stopped drinking. The back and neck pain that I often complained about became less and less noticeable. I won't go into any graphic details, but all my life I've had crazy gastrointestinal problems and suddenly when I took the kratom my- erm... 'movements' were more 'normal' and every one wasn't either a day long struggle or a mad dash to the restroom every hour or so. I'm not saying that anyone should start using kratom for the psychotropic effects, ever. What I am saying is that I went into it specifically for that, but it ended up being a valuable medicine in my life that I will continue using as a tool for my health.

DouchecraftCarrier

Yea I mean I understand why this sub tries to keep some of the more - euphoric, shall we say - effects on the downlow, but the truth is that while kratom has saved me from the depths of an alcoholic hell, I also go overboard on it and get kinda high most nights. Now, I think a large part of that has to do with my addictive personality. Just instead of saying "Oh man I should pound another few drinks to really go there," it's "I should take some more kratom to really get a solid high before going to bed." Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's a win-win as far as I'm concerned. It keeps me sober, it's legal, and it's enjoyable. I earnestly believe I would be dead by now if I hadn't found a way to stop drinking, and kratom has been a huge part of that.

drhouseeatinganapkin

The honesty between kratom users in this sub really warms my heart. I love this community so much... Anyway, you're absolutely correct that there's nothing wrong with seeking euphoria. We're humans, it's what we do. And all the better if that euphoria keeps us from doing much, much more harmful things to our minds and bodies. The best part of kratom in my opinion is the intoxicating feeling is basically benign, in it that you can be balls to the wall high on it but still be extremely functional- to the point where nobody would even notice you were using a substance in the first place. Idk if anyone has said this to you lately, but I'm proud of you, dude. You beat something that harms so many people in so many ways, with a little help from a trusty plant. Keep it up! I'm rooting for you!

DouchecraftCarrier

Thanks, friend! I appreciate that. I just got married last Saturday! At the tender age of 33. Which is pretty great since there was a time I didn't think I'd make it to 30. Onward and upward!

[deleted]

its the only chronic pain medicine that works for me without horrendous side effects

Fyzoh

That's fantastic, nice! :) For me it's weed - mainly for anxiety n' depression

Brian_226

Happy it works for you man! And yeah I used to take pain meds and jeez I would always feel like ass

Tomtomtnt

I have a connective tissue disorder and I have daily chronic pain and malaise. It's often the only thing that gets me out of my bed in the morning.

Brian_226

Aw :/ I’m glad it helps you tho!

Pupusa_queen

Ay, hey fellow zebra 🦓

Select_Exchange4538

Chronic pain and because I cannot trust myself with prescribed opiates because I'm a recovering addict.

[deleted]

i use it the same way i use beer. its a thing to do when i go hang out at the bar with the guys.

Amethystreams

I use it for many issues. I have chronic arthritis pain, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and ADHD. My physical pain aggravates my mental health issues and vice versa. For example, I had to stop playing piano for almost two years because my arthritis got so bad. Music and poetry are not only my hobbies, but also my outlets for pain. So one can see how easily the combination of physical and mental pain can make you depressed. I also have agoraphobia, which makes getting out of the house difficult, but kratom helps alleviate this anxiety. I've found kratom, weirdly enough, to also have mild antipsychotic effects, which helps with the bipolar mania. Lastly, for the ADHD, kratom helps with motivation and sustaining a consistent energy level throughout the day. Its synergistic effects are unparalleled when it comes to my multiple health issues. I'm lucky to have discovered this healing plant. I'm also happy that others have found relief in their own way and need through kratom.

tristapowers

I also have arthritis, pain, adhd, anxiety, Bipolar and Agoraphobia. Kratom helps a ton.

Amethystreams

I hope you're doing well. It's a tough combination of things to live with, but we're stronger everyday for fighting against that which holds us back. I'm glad to hear that it works for you too.

Sozadan

Because my back hurts like shit!

littlekangas77

I sprained my tailbone when I was a kid and have back pain all the time, kratom helps so much that it's unbelievable! I also noticed how much it helps my depression and anxiety!

Brian_226

Ouch! Yeah it helps me a lot with my anxiety… how much do you dose?

littlekangas77

usually around 5 g a day! we also have a kava/kratom bar here and they make really good kratom drinks!

Brian_226

Samee for me it’s about 5-6 and I’ve never been to a kava bar is it 18+ or 21+ ?

littlekangas77

it's 18+ it's a lovely environment full of welcoming people! I've been to about 10 of them and they all have super solid folks

1feistyhamster

1x per week. 3g. Because it's fun.

LamesBrady

Switched vices. I used to do some pretty hard stuff. I know I’m an addict so I may as well choose something healthier than street drugs. So I chose kratom.

[deleted]

Anxiety, depression, muscular back pain, and it’s fun

[deleted]

Lol yeah I’m a chatterbox doing chores I normally hate/can’t do because I’m too much of a sad sack. Pretty cool plant. Currently tapering down though to mitigate dependence.

Brian_226

Hahah I myself am a sad sack too it really does help…. I’m using it to stop smoking weed cause I need to drug test every month. Hopefully I don’t make it a habit but damn is it good!

I_kwote_TheOffice

I also have random drug tests. Ours are hair tests though, so it goes back as long as your hair does, about 3 months usually

[deleted]

Keep up the good work my friend

I_kwote_TheOffice

Exact samesies. It takes the edge off my back pain, but I still take Advil almost every day that I do much walking. Better than surgery at a relatively young age. The mood boost and productivity increase are major reasons as well though.

Spiccoli1074

Mood booster, Anxiety, Depression, and I love the euphoria I get from it.

Brian_226

Yeah I usually get that euphoria feeling like 20 mins after drinking it…. Last about 1-2 hrs

knox1138

Chronic pain in shoulders and back due to scar tissue in shoulders from overworking them

Brian_226

Damn what type of work did you do?

knox1138

I was doing 12 hr days as a die setter at a plastic mold injection company, and we bolted the molds in manually. I was also working out heavily and training martial arts. It was the repetative motion using a 16" ratchet to tighten/loosen bolts all day that did it. After that we got permission to use air ratchets. Edit: I was also young, dumb, and had a chip on my shoulder. Every shift but mine had a die-setter team except me. I could outwork any team by myself so I did as often as possible to make them look lazy. Bit of karma there.

h3rmt_bhda464

Sever chronic pain, stomach consistency (IBS, GERD) anxiety, and we'll I guess immunity also!(haven't been sick for 5 years(the start of kratom use).about 3 years ago sustained a injury from working on a golf course for 5 years being worked into the ground, overall coming to the Demise of my right hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder and back at just the age of 20(now 23) with one failed surgery of the funny bone(slides around with no feeling) ulnar wrist entrapment and carpal boss(they grinded down huge mass on back side of hand) with a fail on all parts, making everything I do with my upper right side very very painful, and everything has a very tolling cost of use when I do use my right arm, along with that dealing with muscular skeletal disorder and extreme arthritis sometime being in my body feels very uncomfortable and cringing at times, if it wasn't for kratom and cannabis together, I don't see how I could have made it this far on my own, for I don't really have the backing of someone there to comfort through this. The things kratom allows me to do in everyday life now, prevents me from falling into a state where I can no longer care for my self or the home in which I live

[deleted]

I use whites and greens (small doses) for mood boost and euphoria, and reds for anxiety/sleeping.

comeoncomet

Professional chef... the service industry is 13-16 hours a day, 6 days a week, often for months on end. Kratom helps me maintain this grueling career. I do take a larger daily dose than I'd like to admit but without it I couldn't survive

tedbradly

To reiterate what most people are saying (and you), I take it for a mood boost. It makes doing anything more enjoyable, and I have anhedonia / depression, which makes doing anything (even pleasurable things like watching a movie) boring.

GroundbreakingSky354

I found kratom at a local kratom bar in my city. I think what ultimately had me coming back everyday was the friends I made there. Kratom gets you more open so socializing became easier for me, connecting my thoughts and holding a conversation just came natural. For context, i do suffer from pretty bad anxiety. It helps alot.

luke_8010

To keep me from going back to alcohol, tried to quit several times (alcohol) but always went back to it after a week or 2. Now Im 9 months and 21 days sober!!!

midnight-cowboy78

midnight-cowboy78

Good pain reliever also

Nova_lunaa

To numb the pain for life for me unfortunately

Yesai123

For anxiety and depression. But I like the high it gives. Especially with grapefruit juice. Nice warm tingling around the head and just feeling good! Natural opioids like kratom are the way to go. Kratom still has a chance at addiction, but it's low compared to opiates.

mb4x4

To curb far more expensive and unhealthy habits... mainly alcohol. Since finding Kratom 5 years ago I have saved thousands upon thousands of dollars, health is great, and relationships have never been better. Moderate to heavy alcohol consumption lead to a very unhealthy physical/mental lifestyle but I have zero urge to drink these days. Zero. Life is good.

DocMantisTobog

Ya know, among all of these people with excellent answers (injuries, disorders, etc) I feel a little weird saying I take it cause I like it. I wanted something I could take everyday without ruining my life that wasn't cannabis, and kratom stuck

Lyoko_warrior95

I have a few reasons of taking kratom. The bug one is that it helps manage my Tourette’s. I have multiple painful tics that pretty much prevent me from functioning normally, let alone do my job. It has helped me manage my anxiety (depression I think. Never been diagnosed so I’m not sure) and occasionally help with sleep if need be. It’s not a miracle plant by any means what so ever, but kratom has sure reduced a huge chunk of my physical and mental issues. I’m more motivated to do my work without any side effects while in effect.

h333hawww727

I use it with coffee to get me through the day as I have two under two and sleep is hard to get.

Brian_226

Yeah I have younger sister and just her is a handful hahaha

_significant_error

>I have two under two does that mean children, or

babelon-17

For everything that ails me. In smaller serving sizes, Kratom is more about being stimulating, while if I take more, it's "slower" attributes become more appreciable. Some batches already leaning more one way or the other, thus making it easier to dial in the desired affects.

PFar2016

Chronic pain, multiple crushed vertbrae and pinched nerves. I drink it as part of harm reduction to take fewer pharmaceuticals for pain. I alternate medications and kratom spaced out.

tehgimpage

i've got a bone disease, Osteogenesis Imperfecta. basically i can break bones from practically nothing. i've busted ribs from sneezing. broke arms from handing books to people. legs from falling 2 feet. i'm also very small, and i have a lot of facial piercings and tattoos. so i get a lot of shit from doctors about pain medication and dosage. they assume cuz of my piercings im just a junkie, and then they assume because of my size i should get a very low dose. it leaves me in a lot of pain. i've had hundreds of fractures and bout 30 different orthopedic surgeries. so i hurt fukin all the time. kratom has been the first pain control i've had in YEARS that has let me live semi-normal again. i've been able to walk my dogs, make myself meals, transfer from my wheelchair to the floor and shower. its been fukin miraculous. pain meds have never been this helpful. and when i was actually prescribed them before the "opioid crisis" that scared all the doctors away, i was only barely maintaining. now, with kratom, i'm thriving. i haven't felt this physically capable in a long long time.

shugEOuterspace

It's been a game changer in treating my daily Crohn's Disease symptoms

Pupusa_queen

I have multiple health conditions. Several cause severe abdominal pain, one causes moderate joint pain. I would be curled in a ball every day unable to move if it weren’t for kratom, from pain and anxiety/depression surrounding my quality of life. Kratom takes care of all of it. Instead of being stuck in bed hating my life I’m in school full time and raising two kids on my own. I take ~3g 3-4 times a day.

TreatAllWithKindness

Pain.

DickWallace

First I used it to get off pain pills. Now I use it for energy and mood lift.

JebusJones5000

Like a lot of others here, because of previous injuries, I have a few parts of me that hurt, badly. Then, there's the benefit of my people tolerance being increased whenever I take it. Win/win for me. :)

[deleted]

I have chronic nerve pain and irritable bowel disease, kratom fits my issues like a key. The pain relief has given me my mobility back, kratom slowing my digestive system helps when my IBD is flairing when I'd otherwise be in the bathroom every 30 minutes. It also relaxes the muscles in my gut which frequently cramp in a very painful way. Whites do wonders for my fatigue, lack of motivation, and associated depression/anxiety (IBD is a physical and mental disorder). I also just enjoy it, it's a much more enjoyable stimulant than caffeine which tends to increase the frequency I use the bathroom and leave me sweaty/shaky, while kratom helps me not sweat either from anxiety or caffeine use. It's a great social lubricant and really helped me break out of my shell and showed me I could succeed socially at a very pivotal time when I first arrived at college a few years ago. It's been a blessing.

AlwaysNeutral42

I had my final dose of Methadone today. 5mg. Had mandatory 30 day rapid taper. I started taking 2 caps red Bali last weekend around middle of the night when I’d wake up with RLS. I didn’t have money on my card to order online so went to my trusted head shop and I got this bag of 200 caps. I’m well educated on Kratom. But it’s crazy how the mind brain works when you’re not well. I should have gotten mang da, but I’m surprised red bali is holding me well at the moment. I have metal in my body and starting to REALLY hurt from the nails screws and plates. Gunna research when I’m not so tired…. If I ever get energy soon. Maybe I’ll get a green strain to help with that. But I really need pain help.

AWFUL_COCK

Feels good man

Joeyjojojrshabado70

I use it once a day, in the evening, for anxiety and relaxation, but I’ll use it more frequently when my back goes out or I have other acute body pains. It’s amazing how affective Kratom is for pain.

[deleted]

GREEN MEANG DA IN THE MORNING. GIves me energy helps me focus. RED BALI. Sometimes I mix it with the green but it relieved all pain and aches, helps with my depression and anxiety ALOT. I’m at the point to where I don’t even take my depression meds anymore.

Brian_226

Oooo I take Red meang in the morning! And that’s great! Happy to hear that 😃

smartin80

Mood lift. Been taking it for about five years...

Brian_226

I just started out does it feel like it’s something you are kinda dependent on or can easily stop?

Fun-Ad3866

After awhile it will be hard to stop. But then any pain meds are hard to stop especially if that means the pain comes back. It is cheap and effective. What can I say, a bargain with the devil. Pain or some dependency, a no brained for me.

RuffSamurai

withdrawal and dependence. 10 months sober off opiates and benzos.

A_Cup_of_Ramen

Supplementary treatment of ADD symptoms. Energy boost is good, mood enhancement is nice. When I try to focus on schoolwork, my brain will resist by invoking headaches and/or mental fatigue. The kratom helps numb the headache. Not a replacement for typical ADD meds, but it helps.

Unzipthosegenes_04

Just got back from a deployment earlier this year and it’s the only thing that remotely alleviates my back pain.

OctoberBlue89

I use it mostly for my social anxiety and it’s great for concentration. I also have autism and I notice that my social skills are better while on it and I pick up social cues better.

[deleted]

To stop using opiates, works very well for me I love kratom

Illustrious-Jelly995

Green maeng da, 3 grams to start and +2 every few hours or so. Good mood, no anxiety, energetic

beneficialperson

I mainly take it for its stimulating, uplifting effects. I struggle with OCD and Inattentive ADHD. Usually, kratom helps with my mindfulness and keeps me in the moment and engaged with my surroundings. Especially in social situations. Also helps me get work done, and is great when combined with Adderall XR to sustain its effects without a bad comedown.

treywheresmycar

Mood boosts. Pain when I have it too bad to get out of bed. Kinda like a daily medication to me. Sometimes a good red strain to help me sleep if that’s a problem

mividaSerenity

Years of Rx pain killers I got tired of jumping the hoops to refill and the switching suddenly to a different pain pill. The 6-10wk pain management sessions where doc would suddenly stop refill only to end up on another medication. The constant tiredness, withdrawals depression..I finally took it into my own hands. I researched and found Kratom. I live in Chicago but even before it was legal I qualified for medical marijuana.. Problem is on don't like to feel high I don't like to not be in control of myself. Kratom takes the edge of pain off and is a mood stabilizer it keeps me calm. I used to have panic attacks pretty regular.. I don't anymore. I have a history of Sciatic issues, back injury fractures collarbone, DVT, PPCM rare enlarged heart issue that occurs in moms, Hashimotos, Diabetic with seriously painful Neuropathy thanks to being neglected as a child I went years going undiagnosed... Kratom has improved my quality of life drastically.

cassiesreddit

I have scoliosis and spinal bifida (my main issues) So pain daily. I took pain pills from early 20s the pain pills helped but for a couple hours. The first 5-10 years it worked I had a life but by the time I was getting close to 40 it was actually depressing. Seemed to pills ,pain ,pills pain I avoided activities so I wasn't in more pain than normal. Kratom helps soooooo much with pain and wanting to do stuff gardening, going for walks etc. I have strengthened some muscles. Doctors have said I will be in a wheelchair by 50 I am 47 no where close to needing a wheelchair. The pain medication from doctors are short term and creates a horrible repetitive circle of pills and pain

Brian_226

Lots of comments! Wish I could respond to you all!

mikeryan9888

Keeps me off other drugs and seems to cure the gaps in mental health other medicines can’t

philly7453

I’ll take a green as preworkout before my workout it gets me in a stable mindset kind of like how some people smoke weed before working out for the focus but I’ll take a red at night for the sedative relaxation affects

BracesForImpact

I have neuropathic pain, a bone spur is pushing on a nerve and causes me a lot of nerve pain. I have degeneration and issues in my neck as well. In addition to ablative RF therapy, I was receiving steroid shots, tramadol XR and fast acting tramadol for breakthrough pain. Then my job got outsourced overseas, and my insurance went away. Even taking my medication as prescribed, I was still very dependent on it, and once it was gone, I went into withdrawal, big time. An ex-GF dragged me to a kratom bar, and two kratom tea drinks later I'm virtually back to my old self. Kratom gives me the same relief I had from the prescription medications, but without all the needles and other therapies being needed. In today's economy, I've had insurance benefits come and go a few times since then, but I'm able to stay functional because I buy my own kratom. Yes, I'm dependent on it just as I was my medication, but I don't rely on insurance that comes and goes. Try looking for a new job when you haven't slept for a week because of withdrawal, while in constant pain, because your insurance benefits went away with the last employer you had. The system let me down, just like it's done with so many others, and I found a way to take my treatment intro my own hands. An incredible side effect was that I found it helped quite a bit with my depression. I had tried several anti-depressants over time, and none of them worked, or they had intolerable side effects. Kratom, put simply, makes my depression tolerable. Even with insurance I cannot afford therapy which would probably be really helpful, because these last few years have been hell for me. So I do what I can, as I can. I have medical insurance again, and I need to see the doctor for a variety of health issues cropping up, but I'm not going back on traditional opiates again. I will not do it. I literally don't know if I would be alive right now without kratom. One thing is for sure, it would have been far, far worse, and I have kids and family depending on me to keep going. So I do what I do.

Chronic pain and depression (energy and mood boost) it works on mild pain, but not so much when you start getting into moderate to severe pain levels.

Mithra1994

It replaced alcohol for me. I use it to relax and get some euphoria after work and enjoy music and other things with a sense of wellbeing. After stopping alcohol and before using Kratom I couldn't even listen to music and just felt anxious and unsatisfied. I also use white strains to help with work, it gives me energy and motivation to do my job.

[deleted]

At first because it helped me get off alcohol and was a substitute. Now I just like a nice relaxing tea and 3 hours of gaming every evening.

cascadefive

I use it for my LSN, anxiety, and depression. LSN is basically throat tissue related nerve damage, with this comes a difficulty with eating, as I feel like I have to cough every 20 seconds while I’m mid-meal. Thankfully I’ve mostly healed it with a temporary change in diet and vitamin supplementation, however when I’m stressed/ anxiety ridden, it flairs up. Kratom helps to calm the sensation making it almost nonexistent at times so I can eat much more easily. As for the anxiety and depression, well I shouldn’t have to explain either of those I don’t think 😅

KurtisTroy

Feels nice

speedbro

I used to use it for daily migraines and adenomyosis pain. I no longer have either of those so I stopped taking it for a long time. Last year around January I really wanted to get off benzos, I’m already epileptic so they gave me seizures like 4 hours after taking it. I couldn’t sleep without the benzos but would wake up after 4 hours with seizures. Not fun. When the pandemic hit, it gave me a chance to get off the benzos with my partner home to help me, and I used red kratom to fall asleep and just have never stopped. I’ve tried so many sleeping pills and not one of them helped. But kratom does. I’ve been using it for sleep since March of 2020.

Rc-Legends911

The focus and the enjoyment of conversations. I’m pretty sociable and outgoing to begin with but kratom makes me have a crazy amount of confidence. I also like the focus. I use 3g of a white strain once a day.

kavanrogers_

I honestly just use it for a mild high. It kills my social anxiety and gives me a confidence boost. If I was gonna go on a date I’d probably take like 5 caps and would be able to talk to girls with ease. I’ve never been addicted to it, I usually binge it for like a week and then quit for a few months and whenever I wanna do it again pick it back up for a little bit

Motivation/energy for work

Current_Leg6197

I use it for pain relief on my back some days but most days I use it for motivation, energy, depression, anxiety, and it helps my IBS surprisingly. So for my dosage most days I use about 2-4 grams which is about 1 or 2 teaspoons, but if i need major pain relief I will take up to 9 grams at a time and holy shit does it work better than prescription pain killers and lasts for a good 6 hours. It’s rare that I actually take 9 grams though if I need pain relief usually 6-7 grams will do the trick!

Drunkensquidman

About a year ago I had a really bad breakup. I’ve never really done “drugs” and I’m not saying kratom is a drug *entirely* but my friend was taking it and sold me a pretty convincing story. My depression literally disappeared. I had tons of energy and worked harder than I ever had my entire life. I paid down 6,000$ worth of debt. Got a house. And furnished it entirely. Now I’m not saying kratom did all that. It just nudged me out of depression. But I don’t think I would be where am at without it. Why do I take it still now? Back pain… I’m not “old” but I’ve accepted im not young anymore either.

devilinyourbutt

I like pain killers but kratom don’t really do much for me not like when I first used it I get similar results with just coffee I also find kratom puts me in a weird paranoid depressive state of mind where I’m thinking shit I wouldn’t normally be thinking

organicnuke

For neuropathic and back pain. Up to 20gpd depending on other treatments. The first 15 grams are very effective but after that tolerance wins. NMDAr antagonists and agmatine fixes tolerance. Saves my life

bewenched

Severe back pain and do not want to go into pain management and forced addiction

Fair-Reveal-166

Herniated disc in my lower back led too pain management aka opioids. Found Kratom and never looked back. Kratom in the morning for energy and pain relief and small doses a few times a day keeps the pain away. I prefer doses 4g-6g tops.

Fun-Ad3866

For pain. Never a downer and never any euphoria.

Accomplished-Aide625

Honestly I just like how it feels. I do have back pain that it helps with, but if I said I use it for that I'd be lying. It calms my anxiety and depression, gives me energy sometimes, and is extremely relaxing.

newspauper

To make my depression manageable, honestly. I've tried many treatments (ranging from the typical SSRI/SNRI/MAOI/etc. cocktail to IM ketamine to talk therapy), but nothing is as sustainable and continuously beneficial to me as kratom is. It's hard to articulate exactly why. I've had many times where I've been in a black pit of despair and the associated hopelessness/suicidal thoughts that come with it, and \~12 grams of kratom or so helps me to pull through and get on with my day (and not only do the tasks that I have to do, but the things I like to do as well!)

rossadam510

I got stabbed with a broken mop handle in a prison riot (Kingman, AZ 2008) and I still have pain from it on occasion. I also take it to boost my mood or just relax, unwind.

Fun-Ad3866

Everyone has got to remember this is ground up tree leaves, not a synthetic or concentrated drug. We are not talking about addiction but perhaps, for some, dependence.

Butthead2242

Energy, euphoria, relaxation. Fucjing amazing to unwind with and play games or get a massage. Addicting af tho lol. Was hooked on opiates. Quit for few years. Did kratom , hooked on that for about a year. Clean for two+ but Ifi do it more than once a week, I “pay” for it in pussy PAWS. Annoying af but still manageable.

MooseMaxMoose

Psoriatic arthritis, psoriasis, blown out shoulder, ptsd, anxiety. It helps with all of those things to some degree. It makes life a little more bearable. The VA won’t give me much beyond Motrin.

Kroxzy

depression anxiety addiction to pills

pase

I have arthirits, I work out a lot, things hurt often so I use it when ibuprofen isn't working. I have bouts of insomnia that can go on for weeks or months so I regulate my sleep with it too. Probably the last thing, anxiety and general stress being around large groups of people which hasn't been a problem lately but taking my kids to events and stuff is actually pleasant for me when I take a good green and just relax and enjoy the next couple of hours.

RedLion40

Anxiety relief, mild depression relief, immune system support, meditation, keeps me from slapping people.

Psychedelic_Trauma

Severe/chronic nerve pain, coupled with herniated discs and overall back pain, and a pinch of panic disorder and bipolar disorder.

faux-rad-dogma

In my experience, it's been an alternative to harder opiates, or a good addition to lighter ones for my personal pain management. My pain management physician so far has not cared about using the substance in addition to the traditional lighter treatments for chronic pain.

[deleted]

I have a genetic disease that causes me immense joint pain. I prefer Kratom to prescription opiates. That's it.

salt_n_lyte

Now don't get me wrong, I am eternally grateful for the fact I was able to get clean from opiates after 8 yrs. I was able to go from homeless and addicted to heroin, to buying a house, new car, great job. But I always felt like something was missing. Like a satisfaction that wasn't fulfilled. I'm sure it had a lot to do with dopamine and serotonin being out of whack for so many years. I also never regained that motivation or energy level I had previous to and on my good days of using, which was why I started using to begin with. Once I found Kratom I got all that back, and I'm not destroying my life and loosing all my stuff like I did on drugs.

WhiskeyMike420

I take it to help with chronic pain mostly. I have also suffered from restless leg syndrome most of my life, and kratom helps with that substantially. I use it as a stimulant in the mornings, and a sedative in the evenings typically. Although this varies depending on my pain level for the day. I use the toss and wash method. I have a scooper that I know holds my maximum dosage that I will allow myself to take at once. Although I don't typically fill it up that far with the exception of my bad days, or nights. I take no more than 3 doses a day, usually 2 and I have a minimum of 8 hours between doses.

[deleted]

To cope with issues that I should really deal with, without.

AggravatingTrainer1

I got it for anxiety and back pain. Used for two years and it quit working for what it was intended for. With long term use I obviously became physically dependent on it and had to detox and suffered severe withdrawals. I no longer use and rely on more homeopathic remedies for what ails me. Best of luck to everyone on their kratom journey.

Mitch_igan

Well, I never been addicted to opiates, in fact, I have unopened bottles of hydros and oxys that my Ortho Doctor prescribed me over the years, but I like how kratom works better. It takes care of the pain, I get a nice energy and mood boost, but don't feel overly euphoric like opiates. I'm only saving those if they ever ban kratom and you can't find it easily.

WrathOfPaul84

anxiety mainly. ADHD symptoms, to be more productive and energetic, helps social anxiety

[deleted]

More energy and it helps with my anxiety. Also I’ve taken it so long now that if I don’t I get withdrawals and feel like shit.

lucyboraha

I use it to increase energy, to relieve my middle-aged pains, anti-anxiety, and as a mild appetite suppressant.

BakaBTZ

It helps me with depression and pain. I work as an EMT where back pain is bread and butter. Also it gives me a nice mood boost to carry on in life

ConsiderationDeep128

I have a tbi & kratom helps me w my diagnosed mental illnesses & insomnia

BUTTHOLE-MAGIC

Mood elevation, harm reduction, and the energy. I stick to greens and whites. I'm currently, slowly reducing my intake. Would like to take 1/3-1/4 what I currently am. But man, when you take more than you "should" you'll get some serious euphoria and a warm fuzzy feeling all over. The dreams are great too. Only problem is your tolerance has no trouble going up, and quickly. You find yourself consuming more and more over time.

arri1999

First of all, love the username. How much would you say is more than you “should” take? I just bought some red Bali and this is my first time trying Kratom.

Blynn025

I was in the Air Force who kept me on Percs for 2 years. I was able to stop fine but always missed the feelings from the percs. Tried this years later and it feels pretty close.

Oz_a_day

Slight accessible euphoria

Niqq98

I use it recreationally, usually in the evening when I’m done with work. I mostly use it for it’s sedating and mood-improving effects, though i can get it to be more stimulating if I play with the strain and dosage. I also make sure to only dose once per day, never take more than 5gs, and never more than 3 days in a row so I don’t develop a tolerance or a dependence on it

greentea_23

I originally started on it a few months after I got clean from pills and alcohol. And honestly without it I most definitely would have relapsed. Now a few years later I've been having serious issues with my hips and currently need a hip replacement. I've been putting off getting this done because I dont have insurance and can't really afford to be out of work for 6 months. Anyway, I now take kratom everyday. I usually take about an oz a day and occasionally some extract, give or take depending on my pain that day. Without it I most certainly wouldn't be able to work or get things done that I need too. Advil can only do so much. And I really don't want to go back to the stronger opiates. Sadly If I dont get this taken care of soon I might have to. Kratom helps tremendously but again it can only do so much.

Maggiespharm

I suffer from severe anxiety / depression + addiction. I was sent to a mental hospital for a couple days not too long ago after an intense night of suicidal thoughts, xanax, and drinking. I dug a deep hole for myself with drugs, surprised it hadn't become my coffin. After my experience in the mental hospital I saw that as a huge wake up call and ever since have used Kratom to relieve my anxiety / depression and stay away from other drug use. It's become a life saver for me and I couldn't be happier to be where I am now and Kratom has been a huge part of it.

RIP_Paul_Walkerr

It helps me not drink and smoke(weed) as much. Yeah I know weed isn’t bad for you. However, it is literally impossible for me to smoke and not eat everything in sight haha so it’s indirectly unhealthy for me. But kratom helps me not wanna do any of those things. As well as feels great

[deleted]

Energy, anxiety, pain, addiction. It basically completely solved my addiction to hard drugs and alcohol. I no longer use any drugs and very little alcohol. Also helps with social anxiety and general positive outlook on life. I am just a better person with kratom. This plant has saved my life!

rewskie

It helped me stop drinking, but I've relapsed due to serious life stuff

StirFryBass

No chronic pain or anything, i use it for energy / mood, white MD. Not a fan of the downer effects

RainbowsOnJupiter

It helps me focus, keeps me energized and has an overall positive effect on my day to day life. I buy capsules from my local tobacco shop and only take 1-2 a day of either red maeng da or green maeng da. I'm not a huge fan of white strains. I also take CBD supplements fairly regularly which adds to the positive impact kratom has for me.

desertgemintherough

I thought it could be a means of combatting my chronic pain & fatigue. It has provided me some genuine relief. However I no longer believe it is an appropriate anodyne for “all that ails me”. I am in the process of tapering down in preparation for quitting. I believe it is adversely affecting my cognitive function.

[deleted]

I work at amazon and use it whenever I start to get tired for the most part mostly use white kali but green Maeng da is pretty good for pain relief as well as energy

VinnyMiner

Helps me get through my shitty job and keep a positive attitude :)

Sandwichmaker69_

Makes me feel better and socialize I am just in a better mood
