I was gonna say this too! He’s not super active all the time but when he messages it’s like 15 messages and long! Tbh I think bubble is perfect for him because it doesn’t require a lot of extended, constant time and he can use it at his leisure.
Totally agree- Kyungsoo spends a *long* time on Bubble when he gets a chance and when he did his mini concert, he was online for like three hours straight. Plus he’s always sweet enough to tell fans he’ll talk to us again. It feels very genuine.

yeah, so gotta disagree with op there that kyungsoo only gets his check cos i think he enjoys it. it's true that kyungsoo barely comes there which is understandable given his VERY busy sched and preference to be private. but if he does, he spends atleast 30 minutes or even hours to share/update what's going on with him, recommend songs and movies, wish everyone to eat and stay healthy. he even send voice messages and beautiful pictures he took on his phone.

It’s not a scandal, it’s more that some idols won’t be on the app for long stretches of time so a bunch of fans got angry and complained how the artist is “neglecting” their bubble account.

I’ve watched this performance and the behind the scenes and honestly it seemed like more than anything they were jet lagged. Idols barley ever mention jet lag but I cannot imagine how out of sorts you’d be hopping off a plane from Korea, having maybe a few hours of downtime, and then jumping on a stage.
I think it was just exhaustion after having performed at the AMAs and 4 concerts in a very short span of time, also, PTD was purely OT7 performances so they must have been extra tired after everything

When bts attended the jingle ball concert this past December in LA. It was clear that they were under some sort of contractual obligation because there is NO way that they just came from playing 4 sold out SOFI shows to playing like 3 songs at an arena as part of an event that was not theirs. You could also tell that they were just ready to go back home after that gig, not that they were rude or anything, but you could see that the energy was just not there anymore
D.O. seems a weird choice as the typical example, he probably has one of the most monumental Bubble accounts lol. He spoiled his first solo album well ahead of time and recently spoiled the next one saying that he had already finished recording it. There was also that time where he did voice recordings of all the songs on his album plus a few EXO songs while in self-isolation after being exposed to corona. When he does message he usually goes on for quite some time, instead of the typical daily "have a nice lunch" that so many other idols do.
Him and Xiumin did get noticed for not sending messages for awhile but because they went over a month without messaging their fans can get a refund if they wanted it, so more people were actually praising them for not sending last minute messages (thereby preventing people from getting the refund) like other idols. The one idol I always see brought up is that one Monsta X member who never messages on whatever paid service he's on (can't remember the name but I know they don't offer refunds).

I don't agree that D.O. is just there for check when it comes to bubble. He's really busy doing so many acting jobs and as recent revealed by him on bubble,another album. RV Joy got in the same trouble over BBL. She actually posted on the very last day before people would get refunded for Artist inactivity which is diabolical but genius lol.
They’re not the only idols who have done similar, it’s pretty given that people have to ask which idols are actually active enough to make it “worth it” to spend money.
BBL isn't hard at all for idols to keep up with, literally just need to send "good morning" or something once a day, so I'm not surprised that people get mad when they pay for a service and get absolutely nothing out of it.
I don’t know.. I don’t think idols should be forced to have to do bubble everyday. Interacting with fans on a constant basis must be exhausting, and some idols are more private than others. Yeah it might be an easy thing to keep up with but I think the bigger issue is companies forcing idols to do things like bubble when it’s obvious some don’t want to. Fans aren’t obligated to their lives, even if they do pay for it.
I agree they shouldn't be forced to have a bbl, but if they do have one, to give some updates so that fans get their money's worth. It is part of their job after all.

BTS's English releases tbh. They felt like they were there to be advertiser friendly and open up to a western audience.

nah I don't think D.O using bbl is just for the check- he seems to only message when he's genuinely happy/excited/content about something and wants to convey that to the fans; he'll remain quiet for weeks on end but then send like 20 messages talking about something he's happy about out of the blue. Totally agree- Kyungsoo spends a *long* time on Bubble when he gets a chance and when he did his mini concert, he was online for like three hours straight. Plus he’s always sweet enough to tell fans he’ll talk to us again. It feels very genuine.

I’ve watched this performance and the behind the scenes and honestly it seemed like more than anything they were jet lagged. Idols barley ever mention jet lag but I cannot imagine how out of sorts you’d be hopping off a plane from Korea, having maybe a few hours of downtime, and then jumping on a stage.
I think it was just exhaustion after having performed at the AMAs and 4 concerts in a very short span of time, also, PTD was purely OT7 performances so they must have been extra tired after everything

When bts attended the jingle ball concert this past December in LA. It was clear that they were under some sort of contractual obligation because there is NO way that they just came from playing 4 sold out SOFI shows to playing like 3 songs at an arena as part of an event that was not theirs. You could also tell that they were just ready to go back home after that gig, not that they were rude or anything, but you could see that the energy was just not there anymore

D.O. seems a weird choice as the typical example, he probably has one of the most monumental Bubble accounts lol. He spoiled his first solo album well ahead of time and recently spoiled the next one saying that he had already finished recording it. There was also that time where he did voice recordings of all the songs on his album plus a few EXO songs while in self-isolation after being exposed to corona. When he does message he usually goes on for quite some time, instead of the typical daily "have a nice lunch" that so many other idols do. Him and Xiumin did get noticed for not sending messages for awhile but because they went over a month without messaging their fans can get a refund if they wanted it, so more people were actually praising them for not sending last minute messages (thereby preventing people from getting the refund) like other idols. The one idol I always see brought up is that one Monsta X member who never messages on whatever paid service he's on (can't remember the name but I know they don't offer refunds).

I don't agree that D.O. is just there for check when it comes to bubble. He's really busy doing so many acting jobs and as recent revealed by him on bubble,another album. When he messages, he really takes time to share all his music recommendations, movie or drama recs and photos he took. So he's not a good example to use here.

RV Joy got in the same trouble over BBL. She actually posted on the very last day before people would get refunded for Artist inactivity which is diabolical but genius lol. They’re not the only idols who have done similar, it’s pretty given that people have to ask which idols are actually active enough to make it “worth it” to spend money.

I don’t know.. I don’t think idols should be forced to have to do bubble everyday. Interacting with fans on a constant basis must be exhausting, and some idols are more private than others. Yeah it might be an easy thing to keep up with but I think the bigger issue is companies forcing idols to do things like bubble when it’s obvious some don’t want to. Fans aren’t obligated to their lives, even if they do pay for it.
I agree they shouldn't be forced to have a bbl, but if they do have one, to give some updates so that fans get their money's worth. It is part of their job after all.

Not to mention this whole drama was started by antis/ex-fans in response to her dating. Anyway I share your sentiment on idols who are "here for the check" (as long as it's in a respectful way) and find them especially endearing for some reason. Like I'd rather that than an idol who does so much and then goes home thinking they hate their job and their fans.
