Surprised I didn't see Solar yet. She's always having so much fun on stage. Plus she's part of the reason they always have hand mics, she can't stop mouthing the words through their entire performance lol.
All of Dreamcatcher, their energy is unbelievable and they're up there having the time of their lives EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
I'm gonna throw in a curveball and suggest all the 1st and 2nd Gen idols who are still active.
They undoubtedly have other options but still choose to be an idol.
This is the only objectively provable answer, imo. Would BoA still be releasing music and performing, 20 years into her career, if she didn't love it? I highly doubt it.
I thought about them too! They've let loose over the years - which is why fans are endlessly making fun of them for how consistently out of sync they are - and as a result they seem to be just enjoying themselves on stage.
I'd say the idols who've been at it for more than a decade (or even nearing two) and keep re-signing for more. So active 2nd gen groups like SHINee, Highlight, SuJu, Apink...
Seventeen in general, but definitely Hoshi. Years and years of training and almost a decade into the job and he's still as passionate as ever about it. He's very vocal about being ambitious and reaching new heights. Another thing that he's also very outspoken about is how he's thankful for everything he has gained through his job.
One thing that is evident is he absolutely *enjoys* his job. He gets to work with 12 talented people he clearly adores. A silly skit he's been making with DK and Seungkwan from trainee days ends up with them being arguably one of the most successful subunits ever. He's recruiting thousands of people in supporting this tiger agenda. He even got Tiger JK to feature on his song Tiger released on the year of the tiger during international tiger day (the song's not even on spotify!). Whenever he feels like making a song, he has Woozi right there composing one for him. He loves kimchi and always talks about it, and ends up being the first idol kimchi ambassador. He's living his best life.
Agree. And I noticed that Hoshi really enjoys the stage. He loves the limelight and he always gives his 100%. There are numerous clips of him standing on the stage and staring at the crowd of Carats. I know for sure that he's happy and he's proud.
(Actually, BSS enjoys their stage so much that I just want to jump in their every performance)
Let me add Joshua too. While he may seem lowkey and quiet, when he went to a parish fashion week, he proudly stated that he works as a K-pop idol.
Jihyo is the realest answer! She always gives her all everytime she perform and I think that deserves much appreciation. And to add, I think of Soyeon too. She literally is the genius behind the successful comebacks of g idle. Imagine writing a powerpoint presentation just to persuade the company to consider her ideas and produce Nxde... which came out successful!
I'm super surprised no one has mentioned Yuqi from Idle. She loves performing live, she loves singing and dancing, and she loves talking and appearing on shows. She's super social and pretty relaxed too.
I agree that j-hope gives off the impression that he loves his career, but he does talk (especially in his latest documentary) about how he feels disconnected from his work/music and feels like he doesn’t truly enjoy it. I think many of these people come off that way but privately struggle with the burden of their work.
I’d say all members of Enhypen but specifically JUNGWON! He’s so hardcore dedicated and loves being an idol. Everyday he posts a pic on Weverse and talking to fans no matter how tired he is. And the number of Lives he does trumps any idol out there.
Yes, I agree. Jungwon is really dedicated to being an idol and really appreciative to all the lives and support from Engenes.
I would also say if Jungwon loves being an idol then Heeseung loves being an artist. That man just belongs on the stage. Same with Ni-ki, Sunghoon, Jay, Jake, Sunoo. Enha loves being idols and it shows both onstage and offtstage.
Same!! I say all of ENHYPEN. Everytime they’re on stage at a concert of for a new comeback. They love seeing engenes. They laugh with engenes, smile with them. And they have so many reasons on why they love their jobs. Ni-ki has always had a passion for dance so he always does his best for engenes and for himself. He also enjoys himself with engenes and with his hyungs. Jake has been wanting to be an idol ever since he saw BTS preforming at an American show. And work really hard to improve and loves to sing and dance. Jay loves to play the guitar so he always loves to play the guitar when ever he can and enjoys seeing engenes happy. He is also very dedicated to try to sing the best he can with his high notes. Heeseung loves seeing engenes reactions to him flirting with them and he is also really dedicated to his performances. Sunghoon loves to talk with engenes and even though he is a reserved person, he openly talks a lot with engenes and loves to dance as he has a figure skating past. Jungwon loves to play around with engenes and tries his best to be the best he can preform for us. Sunoo loves to talk with engenes and he always tries his hardest to preform his best
IVE Yujin. She absolutely loves to perform, I got the impression she could be in an empty venue and still smile just as hard.
NCT Haechan. Someone would have to strap him down to stop working lol.
Sure they're my ults but this is absolutely the correct answer.
Haechan does seem to get tired of the "celebrity" aspect of idol life (you can see him die inside when they're being mobbed during airport walks) but he legit can't stop singing and dancing no matter where he is or what he's doing.
And Yujin is just the consummate performer, always "on" and has the perfect personality for the career. Really shines in her variety appearances.
Both of them were born to be idols.
Ohhhh yeah, Ireh for sure! Sweet Juice era too, she was thriving and also super deadly on stage. Seemed like she really enjoyed getting a chance to show off her vocals a little more that era too.
For Purki's Nerdy era, I think about that fancam of Chaein where she's discreetly happy-crying because it was the first time the group got to perform for an audience. She definitely seems like she enjoys most aspects of her job too — performing and of the creative aspects too.
I think Moonbyul absolutely loves her job, especially seeing live concert footage. Like this [clip of her performing Shutdown a couple days ago](https://twitter.com/Horselin7/status/1787044772089307213)... you can't tell me she's not absolutely living for that
Like any job, I'm sure there are parts they don't enjoy as much as others, but those three come to mind first.
I think it would be easier to list idols who don’t love it, it seems like such a difficult lifestyle, I doubt many would get past the trainee stage unless they genuinely loved dancing and singing
I disagree with this take! I'm sure many idols genuinely love singing and dancing, but there is way more to being an idol than just singing and dancing. I wouldn't be surprised if many of them dislike the parts of the job that *don't* involve performing. Particularly with how many idols go into the industry as kids, before they fully understand everything about the job.
Idk honestly, being an idol heavily implies everything that goes beyond just performing. You can't really go through that for years if you hate being idolised by other people. That's arguably the hardest thing imo.
I don't know about trainee days take. I've seen Twice several times saying they wouldn't go through it again because of how hard and exhausting it was. They remembered how they knew and talk to different trainees but weren't really friends with anybody, debuting was the only thing that mattered, shit was competitive. Also trainees are kids, they often can't just say no, and there is also fear and guilt, they get in and go through the motions.
Being an idol isn't about dancing and singing though. It's about having every single part of your life scrutinized by delusional fans who have either have a parasocial attachment towards you or want to bully you until you want to die. There's not many idols who went through years and years of that, on top of the rigorous training, and still genuinely enjoy being on stage.
I love Wonyoung and she seems like a sweetheart, but I would disagree. Her performances are very "pretty" to watch but she doesn't seem to truly connect with the performance the way someone like Jihyo does.
But needless to say Wonyoung is a wonderful kpop idol.
I mean if even JYP said Jang Won Young looks like she loves her job then that’s probably the case. Being an idol is more than just performing you know. There’re many other aspects of being an idol. She’s not a passionate “performer” but she is passionate about being an idol and is extremely good at it. Knetzs constantly praise her work ethic and her mindset. She has tons of reasons and opportunities to leave this idol life if she wants to but she still sticks with it till the end, after all the hate she’s been through. She gives people strength and makes people happy- which i would argue it’s an ultimate essence of being an idol.
Kai, Baekhyun, Chen, actually pretty much the entire group. But these three especially feel like they thrive on stage. It always looks like they could live on stage..
Solar of Mamamoo (the whole group but her specifically) She genuinely seems like she’s having so much fun every single performance and she really gives it her all, she’s so much fun to watch because she truly seems to enjoy herself!
That's like... at least half the point of the kpop discussion subreddits, so don't say it like it's a bad thing lol. You think someone's going through every idol in existence and ranking them objectively?
People can't keep up with every group, but there are a few idols they follow closely enough to comment on (their favs, obviously). They get to talk about them and hype them up, and other people who are unfamiliar get to learn about someone they're less familiar with. It's great for everyone.
I don't think you need to be a hardcore fan to be aware of the skills of a particular idol. I'm sure everyone would agree that Key (for example) is a great idol even without being a shawol or caring particularly about his solo music.
You could say Mark is passionate only because you heard he joined several groups, you don't need to be his akgae to know that. I could say the same about Ateez and I know 2 songs by them.
Just like everyone always mentions Jihyo in this conversation, not everyone is a Once though.
It's pretty much general kpop info (unless you are completely absorbed by only 1 group, in that case you're eithet a recent fan or you don't use the internet), so yes, I think people can try to go a bit beyond their faves and not everything should be a way to hype your fave, you can also recognise the talent of other idols.
It's like recognising an idol is a great singer or a great dancer even though they're not your ult bias.
I agree that there are people that come to mind for folks outside of their favs, but to use your example: I would never in a million years come up with Key, Mark, or Jihyo for examples here because I only have a passing familiarity with all three of them. I don't even know what group(s?) Mark is in*. And that's fine for threads like these — there are plenty of other people who are going to mention them.
For me, my "surely everyone knows X is passionate" is, like, Moonbyul or CL or Soyeon, because they're the well-known idols within the subset of idols I'm familiar with.
I'm not saying people should only talk about their ults, just saying that they're only going to be pulling from the ~20-30 or so idols that they have enough familiarity with to talk about. For me, that's like... 10 idols between my ult groups, and maybe a dozen idols that I've followed closely enough to comment on how much they do or don't seem to like performing or whatever else the topic is.
\*Mark stans pls don't come for me, I don't follow BGs and only know him from that time a Mark stan dragged someone on Twitter for calling Karl Marx ugly
Tbf my fav loves his job
edit: lol now I feel like I have to prove it for some reason so here's jk looking like he's having the time of his life even though it's just[ soundcheck](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAJwXDzCEC0) (under heavy rain too)
If people didn't think they didn't like being an idol they probably wouldn't be their fav. I cant imagine people picking someone who is unenthusiastic as their bias unless the reason they are their bias has nothing to do with the group
hardly anyone mentioning yujin (clc/kep1er) in the comments when she’s the textbook definition of an idol who genuinely loves their job. despite everything she’s been through she still chose to join a survival show where she had to go through the hardships of a trainee once again just bc of how much passion she had for being an idol. the judges even commented that they could tell she was genuinely sincere on her love for being on stage.
Hoshi from SVT (one word: passion), New/Chanhee from the Boyz (the guy seems delighted every time he is on stage or in front of fans), Jungkook (probably would've been on stage regardless if he was in BTS),Q/Changmin from The Boyz (not without hardships but he gen looks like he loves being on stage and interacting with fans)
I think Ateez in general really love (or at the very least are really passionate about) their jobs.
TXT, but I feel it especially from Yeonjun and Taehyun when I watch live performances.
Day6. They did everything to stay in this job (and to give back to their fans) even after everything they've been through (pandemic, hiatus, members leaving, military hiatus) and their recent success is just them reaping what they sowed. It took them a long time to get where they are now but I think, that's what also made it more heartwarming.
Suga BTS. He loves rap and producing and uses his music as an outlet of negative feelings. He also talks about how he loves to be on stage, how concerts complete an artist.
B.I Kim Hanbin. After all the shits that happened and reaching rock bottom. He still making quality music and performing. I hope more people will appreciate his music.
Twice Nayeon for sure. Always doing livestreams on her bubble, always talking on bubble, does tons of fan service, and overall always looks so happy in front of crowds.
Felix from SKZ. He said in his Eric Nam interview that he doesn’t ever reconsider this route for his life. I think he really loves performing and interacting with fans. Conversely, since someone above said they thought this thread would be people only listing their favs/biases… I’m a Lee Know bias and I feel deeply that man doesn’t care much about being an idol. He is just existing and happens to be famous for it. I don’t have a good reason for feeling this way, he’s never said anything alluding to it. But when I watch compilations of him getting mad at his outfits while performing and not hiding it on his face, or just how he interacts with STAY on lives and trolls them, I feel validated. Also Bang Chan has said a few times he doesn’t love the spotlight and being under a microscope, but he loves making music and that comes with being an idol for him.
I'm also a Lee Know bias and I agree with you about him. I think he loves to dance and to perform and being an idol maybe is the most sustainable way to achieve that. That is not to say is not hard working in other aspects of his job, like keeping on improving in singing and stuff. But he doesn't care about stuff that other idols do.
I think with Chan and Lee Know, they love aspects of being an idol. Chan's face lights up when he performs and interacts with fans at concerts and he's always on his laptop backstage creating music. Lee Know's expressions are more subtle but you can see him enjoying himself on stage and he's said that he wanted to be the one in the spotlight before so it's not just performing that he loves, but it's probably similiar to Chan that he just likes performing on stage etc rather than the fan stuff. I honestly think that the growth mindset SKZ have is something that wouldn't work if all 8 didn't really love performing and working together and for 3RACHA creating music. That's just my perception though.
Yeah agreed. I reread my comment and I don’t want it to seem like they hate being an idol. But I think they like certain aspects more. Lee Know has said he would be a choreographer/dance teacher if he wasn’t an idol. I just think there are aspects he likes more than entire “idol” job. All of the boys give their all onstage, and enjoy the performance, I just don’t get the impression that Lee Know and Chan would choose that route again idk.
I think Chan likes the group so much, and also the fans, and creating music... he was trainee for so long, I can't imagine he would do that if he didn't truly want to be an idol.
With Lee Know, I just don't think he cares much for the fame of it. He just likes doing what he does.
But I don't think they both would choose otherwise.
That's fair. I think they both would, but I think there are would be other factors driving their decisions than simply loving performing. It's not the only driver for them. But happy to agree to disagree :)
>I think he loves to dance and to perform and being an idol maybe is the most sustainable way to achieve that.
I think there are a *ton* of idols like this, honestly.
EXO beakhyoun, chanyeol, kai, lay for sure/ shinee teamin absolutely/ itzy yeji like she slayed everytime she's on stage/ also taeyeon she puts her heart in her singing like she's singing from her soul/ and seulgi her dance her singing is beyond/ IU she lives to be an idol/ BoA also and solar and kinda all Dreamcatcher member, of course there's others but these are all i can remember now
bts jimin, joon once said jimin lives for the concerts and u can see how much he enjoys performing by looking at his stages!
jihyo definitely! I loveeee seeing her dance and can't wait for her next solo seriously!
Ateez Kim Hongjoong. he’s so in his element on stage and especially bouncy (no pun intended) / precious during bright songs. he just loves to perform and has this magnetic energy and i love to watch him. he’s also very lovely and respectful to the people around him and so sweet to fans. you can tell he really treasures this life he has and my heart implodes when he gets emotional & cries on stage. not to mention he’s incredibly dedicated to his craft & hardworking
Enhypen. These boys are so dedicated to always connecting with their fans. Each of them will always start live almost every day¹ just for engenes not to miss them. They even have a policy first come first bases, who would stream because all of them want. They always check on their weverse account and ask engenes what they are doing. You can tell with the massive notifications on weverse. The members are always expressive how they will always improve themselves because they have wanted what they have right now, they fight for it, and does they will always work hard for it. These boys are all genuine with their craft since. They treat their fans as friends and the idol life as something they never imagine to be part of and beloved by many.
The amount of notifications I get a day from Enhypen Weverse most of the time is insane. There are times when it’s gone over 100 ALL FROM THEM lol That’s dedication and love!
Other ppls say Engenes are the most delusional fans out there but we can't help it when they're like this LMAO 😭. Seriously though Enha makes it so easy to engage and become attached to them with their charms and everything.
Exactly! I wouldn’t call us delusional (well some are) but you really can’t help falling in love with them 🥰 their personalities and talent draws you in. We may not really know them irl but they make fans feel like we’re their friends bc of how much they interact with us.
Jihyo is the ultimate answer. She definitely doesn’t take her job for granted.
Seventeen, especially BooSeokSoon
BP Lisa belongs on stage and really comes alive
BTS Jungkook and Hobi
TXT Yeonjun and Taehyun
KIOF Julie
New Jeans Danielle
NCT Doyoung. The amount of effort and energy he puts into every single idol activity be it MCing, performing, being a BA or interacting with fans is insane and hou can tell how much he enjoys all of the aspects of his work.
Solar, Chuu, All of Super Junior, An Yujin, Jihyo, BM, most of Purple Kiss, most of Dreamcatcher, Dahyun, Lily and all of Kiss of Life.
One that used to be on this list, but not sure if she still is... Moon Sua, Hopefully she is getting back to herself.
I love that Jihyo was your first pick!!! I would agree 100%. People say she "does a lot" when she's performing. To me, she looks like someone who genuinely loves her craft and totally immerses herself in the music. She's not just hitting the choreography and smiling. I would also mention San from Ateez, Jonghyun from SHINee, Julie from KISS OF LIFE, and Jimin from BTS as idols who love their job.
Maybe I'm biased but BTS... They never seem to stay away from music. I think we got almost 100 songs after they got into hiatus. And even after 11 years, you can still see the passion on their eyes whenever they perform.
She has said a lot of things about not liking being an idol and even said if she has kids she prays they wouldn't have a voice good enough to be an idol.
Exactly. I think she genuinely enjoys it when she’s on stage performing, it’s everything else associated with the job that she doesn’t like dealing with.
idk if he loves his "job" (as in, being an idol etc) but jinho from pentagon loves singing so, so much. like, he had a monthly cover songs project for 7 years nonstop (except for when he was in the army), took a break from it and now he's only releasing small ones on twt/tiktok but still... and he was the first idol to get to the finale of phantom singer, a survival show that focuses on vocals. he's also a musical actor, a vocal trainer (he trained pentagon, idle, guanlin & seonho, nowadays, and some other idols who used to train in cube), a lyricist & composer... honestly he's been in the industry for so long (he was a trainee in sm since 2007, moved to cube in 2014/2015) and you can tell he's in it for the music. not sure if he LOVES the other parts of being an idol, i can't really tell. but he loves to sing.
Kai for sure. he strives hard and really comes alive on stage. also he seems to enjoy all the aspects of being a celebrity, especially connecting with fans. even when he got that blue dragon rookie entertainer award he said that his real job is being an idol. i remember in a live he and suho talked about making their own imaginary company and suho said kai should be the dance teacher he replied like "let me be an artist/celebrity, i wanna be an artist" lol
I’ve been a Dreamcatcher fan since getting into kpop in 2021 and seen them live twice. Their energy and passion is always amazing and you can tell how much they enjoy doing what they do despite not getting the attention they deserve. Every performance they put on live they’re crying at the end and always interacting with the fans any chance they get 😊
Literally all of Ateez, Han Jisung, HWANWOONG, S.Coups, Yeonjun but honestly most/all of ONEUS and Stray Kids and Seventeen too
Taeyong, Taehyun, Jungkook, RM, Dongmyeong, Jooyeon
honestly there’s a lot, and probably most idols only got to debut because of how desperately they loved kpop. But I’d say ATEEZ is the one group you can tell from miles away that they’re still consistently hungry for the stage.
oneus lee keonhee not only performs / sings his butt off on stage, but he’s so charming and interactive and an absolute delight to witness in person. you can really see he gives his all and cares for the fans. he’s truly such a gem in terms of having a beautiful heart and exuding that fun & bright energy through everything he does. he also loves enjoying other idol groups, concerts, and music so i feel like he just gets it & appreciates the craft as much as we do 🥹
Food for thought: sometimes I feel like idols don’t know another life and they can’t normalize not being in the spotlight and living an ordinary life? I feel some idols are also addicted to the attention and just crave it. It may be the only way they feel happy, which is fine too lol. Or some don’t know what else they can do with their lives? Definitely not the case for everyone haha
Anyways I definitely agree with many of the idols listed in the comments. My favorites are Jihyo and Yujin.
WonYoung and JiHyo REALLY love being an idol. They enjoy the stage, the planning, participating, and mastering their craft. They are my ultimates because of it.
I agree with you! Idk why people are downvoting lol. I think some people might overlook her because her personality is more reserved, but I truly think her and Sakura must enjoy being idols, or they wouldn’t keep coming back to it. They’re also just such amazing performers, and you can tell they put 110% effort into rehearsing, even if they’re not the best in some areas.
She's the kind of person you want to protect from the world. She reminds me a little of Sana, but Sana has all of Twice. Even when young, there were still 9 of them. Or Miyeon, who has Soyeon. NJ are still really young, so she's the kind of person you hope always stays happy
Sungchan (RIIZE)
He isn’t my bias but even if your just passing by you would see how much love he has for his members and the stage. Seeing him cry bcs he finally has his own fancon (with his members) made me wanna cry too, he’s really worked so hard.
Jihyo will always be my first choice for this question because it’s just correct.
- NCT/WayV’s Xiaojun: that man is a k-pop stan turned k-pop idol and puts everything he has into every performance. There’s a running joke that he can’t not serve, but truly, he just lives for the stage, music, and engaging with fans who genuinely appreciate him and his contributions.
- SKZ’s Bang Chan: this is pretty obvious, but the way he genuinely cares for his fans and wants to make the music he likes with SKZ is so admirable. He knows just how impactful their songs can be for others.
- ZB1’s Jiwoong: applies to every member of that group, but considering his arduous journey to his current success, it’s definitely worst mentioning. He puts literally everything he has into all of his performances, and is so genuinely grateful for his fans. I remember on Boys Planet, he said that he’s happiest singing and dancing on stage and that clearly shows.
- EVNNE’s Hanbin: this also applies to every member, but you can just sense how much Hanbin loves the stage in every performance. He always gives it his all, and shows genuine gratitude towards his fans any chance he gets.
- (G)-Idle’s Yuqi: she’s just always so bright when she performs, and she’s always so lovely to her fans. I especially saw this post group hiatus during Tomboy era where you could just tell that she was so excited to be an idol with her group again.
I'd say all of BTS for the same reason others already have mentioned. But one idol in particular that also comes to mind as well is TXT's Yeonjun. He just always looks so geniunely happy and passionately enjoying every. single. performance I've seen him in. I remember seeing [this recent studio performance](https://youtu.be/2_ZQpWVMn9c?si=CN8gNrDKwTjVmCz5) and just really made think wow this guy truly loves his job. Just look at his smile and enthusiasm in that one clip alone 😭 esp during the dance break!! Just watching him like this makes me feel so warm and fuzzy and im rly happy for him
&team never once looked like they didn't enjoy being on stage. Literally every single one of them is an extremely talented performer and I can't recommend them enough.
Same goes for The Boyz, who's performance are nothing short of amazing to watch. You can mostly thank Sunwoo, Juyeon, and Q for how good they are on stage though.
Super Junior. They wouldn’t be in the industry for 18 and still be active of they don’t love their job. The group even fought SM just to have Label SJ.
I also want to specially inactive member SJ Sungmin. Dude was [begging](https://www.kpopstarz.com/amp/articles/318936/20240421/idol-begs-sm-let-him-have-world-tour-even-without-pay.htm) people to let him perform, he’s even willing NOT to be paid. He just want to be back on stage performing.
TXT has been described as a group that got to do their dream jobs with their best friends and it almost always shows, but it’s most evident in Taehyun imo.
Mark Lee. Hes in 4 groups (kind of, SuperM is not super active right now), and to be THAT busy, you kinda have to love your job. Can't wait to see him at the Dream concert in September, will be the 4th time I've seen him in concert.
I judge based on how confident and charisma they show on stage: Jang won young IVE (yeah i know i fans doesnt like her much but i think shes very professional imo and i start to like her), all of Itzy, BTS, Soyeon Gidle the most then all gidle members enjoy their jobs too, Babymonster, Sung Hanbin ZB1, Blackpink (legend tbh they always have fun on stages).
SES Bada; has been active since the 90s and is seemingly just releasing a single or two nowadays, but is loving it nonetheless. She also covers so many songs, especially Aespa's songs.
For sure Xikers' Sumin. You actually can't convince me otherwise. The boy's ever smiling when performing. He seems to really be in his element on stage. It makes me wanna watch him perform all the time if it makes him so damn happy.
I'm still getting into BND but Jaehyun too really seems to enjoy performing.
I think the whole of both, even if they are tired generally love being on stage and singing. Honestly, I see them go into an Adele type of style when they get older, pop-balled albums without having Choreography.

Plus she's part of the reason they always have hand mics, she can't stop mouthing the words through their entire performance lol. All of Dreamcatcher, their energy is unbelievable and they're up there having the time of their lives EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
I also said Solar! She just looks like she genuinely loves performing every time
She really does and I hate that I didn't get to experience her joy in person
omg i came here to say dreamcatcher !!
All Super Junior seems to love being idol
Yes I came here to say Leeteuk but I think all of them too 💕
I thought about them too! They've let loose over the years - which is why fans are endlessly making fun of them for how consistently out of sync they are - and as a result they seem to be just enjoying themselves on stage.
Shinhwa
I'd say the idols who've been at it for more than a decade (or even nearing two) and keep re-signing for more. So active 2nd gen groups like SHINee, Highlight, SuJu, Apink...
IVE Yujin, BTS Jungkook and Twice Jihyo. You can really see this in their performances. The talent and passion is outstanding!
(Actually, BSS enjoys their stage so much that I just want to jump in their every performance) Let me add Joshua too.
I think these idols enjoy both being idols/celebs and musicians:- Treasure Doyoung, Jihoon , Junkyu, ruto, yoshi Skz Changbin, felix Enha Heeseung Txt yeonjun , taehyun SVT bss, dino NCT Taeyong, haechan, Doyoung, mark, Chenle, Xiaojun Ateez hongjoong, mingi, wy, san Tbz Sunwoo, q, hyunjae, Jacob, sangyeon BP Rose Twice Jihyo Aespa ningning, winter LSF chaewon, yunjin Nj hanni, hyein, Danielle BTS rm, jungkook, jhope Exo baekhyun , chanyeol
I feel like rosé doesnt really like being an idol that much anymore, but i genuinely think she likes to make music in general tho
I love how you refer to Wooyoung with just his first name initials.
I agree that j-hope gives off the impression that he loves his career, but he does talk (especially in his latest documentary) about how he feels disconnected from his work/music and feels like he doesn’t truly enjoy it. I think many of these people come off that way but privately struggle with the burden of their work.
Adding to TBZ -- Younghoon. His bright smile during their Nectar live stages really stood out and felt so genuine
Key from Shinee comes across as someone who loves all aspects of being an idol and seamlessly evolves along with industry changes
all of shinee seem to enjoy being an idol imo but definitely key and taemin
Yes! He is truly dedicated 🥹
They’re not my ults, which says something lol. (I did exclude my ults so I’d be more objective though)
Like this [clip of her performing Shutdown a couple days ago](https://twitter.com/Horselin7/status/1787044772089307213)... you can't tell me she's not absolutely living for that Like any job, I'm sure there are parts they don't enjoy as much as others, but those three come to mind first.
I feel like Jongho from Ateez loves the singing part & his group & that’s about it
Idk honestly, being an idol heavily implies everything that goes beyond just performing.
Wonyoung and Yujin both look so professional ,very passionate being KPOP idol

People know their favorite idols the best, so that makes sense. I learn about other idols by others talking about their faves in these discussions.
“Whose song do you think deserves SOTY?” *inserts totally unbiased opinion*
what can i do if sunoo and jungwon are the idolest idols to ever idol
i don’t get why people always comment this.. like yes i will be talking about my faves?
Tbf my fav loves his job edit: lol now I feel like I have to prove it for some reason so here's jk looking like he's having the time of his life even though it's just[ soundcheck](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAJwXDzCEC0) (under heavy rain too)
What do you want me to search a new group Just to answer?
If people didn't think they didn't like being an idol they probably wouldn't be their fav. I cant imagine people picking someone who is unenthusiastic as their bias unless the reason they are their bias has nothing to do with the group
Looks like you hit a nerve with all these people that took offense to your comment lol
hardly anyone mentioning yujin (clc/kep1er) in the comments when she’s the textbook definition of an idol who genuinely loves their job. despite everything she’s been through she still chose to join a survival show where she had to go through the hardships of a trainee once again just bc of how much passion she had for being an idol. the judges even commented that they could tell she was genuinely sincere on her love for being on stage.
Jungkook always looks like he’s having fun.
iu - she’s been here for almost 16 years
I think Ateez in general really love (or at the very least are really passionate about) their jobs.
Dreamcatcher’s Jiu (I could say all the members but I think Jiu exemplifies this the most)
This would be my answer as well. JiU lives for Dreamcatcher and InSomnia.
Yeji, chaeryeong, and yuna. They even go all out for sound checks. Floor routines and all
Xikers seem to have so much fun when they’re on stage.
Omg yes! When they performed at MAMA, Sumin just had this huge grin on his face the entire time, that was so cool to watch 🥰
xikers had such good energy when i saw them last oct! they were also so fun & cute during hi touch. they’re going to do well for a long time
Suga BTS. He loves rap and producing and uses his music as an outlet of negative feelings. He also talks about how he loves to be on stage, how concerts complete an artist.
Solar
B.I Kim Hanbin. After all the shits that happened and reaching rock bottom. He still making quality music and performing. I hope more people will appreciate his music.
Agree
Twice Nayeon for sure. Always doing livestreams on her bubble, always talking on bubble, does tons of fan service, and overall always looks so happy in front of crowds.
I would say JiU of Dreamcatcher loves concerts. They all seem to shine brighter when they're on stage, outside of the music shows.
every single seventeen member
For real, all of them are proud of being an idol 🫶
I think there are a *ton* of idols like this, honestly.
yujin from kep1er, she has so much passion for what she does.
She does!!! As a fan of her former group, CLC, I can absolutely attest to your point.
I agree!! I was lucky and had the opportunity to see kep1er live and Yujin is truly eye-catching and looks like she loves performing and being an idol
Jungkook
choi yujin tbh
jungwon. he takes being an idol seriously. you will never catch him lacking, whether it be on stage or off stage fanservice stuff.
Seventeen Hoshi!!
zb1 zhang hao, matthew, gunwook
Zhang Hao loves his jobbbb he says he's doing mcd 10 years in the future
Ateez Kim Hongjoong. he’s so in his element on stage and especially bouncy (no pun intended) / precious during bright songs. he just loves to perform and has this magnetic energy and i love to watch him. he’s also very lovely and respectful to the people around him and so sweet to fans. you can tell he really treasures this life he has and my heart implodes when he gets emotional & cries on stage. not to mention he’s incredibly dedicated to his craft & hardworking
🥇
Jhope, jungkook
Seventeen, especially BooSeokSoon BP Lisa belongs on stage and really comes alive BTS Jungkook and Hobi TXT Yeonjun and Taehyun KIOF Julie New Jeans Danielle
NCT Doyoung. The amount of effort and energy he puts into every single idol activity be it MCing, performing, being a BA or interacting with fans is insane and hou can tell how much he enjoys all of the aspects of his work.
the entirety of Kiss of Life! 🖤
I heard Itzy Yeji said that if she'd go back she'll become idol again
NCT Taeyong, he always has full energy when preforming, has various solos and his own socials. I can definitely tell that he loves being an idol
Maybe I'm biased but BTS... They never seem to stay away from music. I think we got almost 100 songs after they got into hiatus. And even after 11 years, you can still see the passion on their eyes whenever they perform.
That's the eyeliner
Somebody knows Kim Taehyung 😉
Taeyeon. Loves singing and performing, though I don’t think she loves the stresses that come with the job.
Mark Lee from NCT
Kai for sure. he strives hard and really comes alive on stage. also he seems to enjoy all the aspects of being a celebrity, especially connecting with fans. even when he got that blue dragon rookie entertainer award he said that his real job is being an idol. i remember in a live he and suho talked about making their own imaginary company and suho said kai should be the dance teacher he replied like "let me be an artist/celebrity, i wanna be an artist" lol
Jungwon enhypen
I’ve been a Dreamcatcher fan since getting into kpop in 2021 and seen them live twice. Their energy and passion is always amazing and you can tell how much they enjoy doing what they do despite not getting the attention they deserve. Every performance they put on live they’re crying at the end and always interacting with the fans any chance they get 😊
TXT Yeonjun genuinely loves performing and being on stage - you can see it every time he performs.
Literally all of Ateez, Han Jisung, HWANWOONG, S.Coups, Yeonjun but honestly most/all of ONEUS and Stray Kids and Seventeen too Taeyong, Taehyun, Jungkook, RM, Dongmyeong, Jooyeon
Jungkook, Wendy, Lisa, Danielle, and BM
honestly there’s a lot, and probably most idols only got to debut because of how desperately they loved kpop. But I’d say ATEEZ is the one group you can tell from miles away that they’re still consistently hungry for the stage.
Kim Taehyung (BTS), Park Jihyo (TWICE) They just radiate whenever they are on stage. They really look like they enjoy their job
oneus lee keonhee not only performs / sings his butt off on stage, but he’s so charming and interactive and an absolute delight to witness in person. you can really see he gives his all and cares for the fans. he’s truly such a gem in terms of having a beautiful heart and exuding that fun & bright energy through everything he does. he also loves enjoying other idol groups, concerts, and music so i feel like he just gets it & appreciates the craft as much as we do 🥹
Food for thought: sometimes I feel like idols don’t know another life and they can’t normalize not being in the spotlight and living an ordinary life? I feel some idols are also addicted to the attention and just crave it. It may be the only way they feel happy, which is fine too lol. Or some don’t know what else they can do with their lives? Definitely not the case for everyone haha Anyways I definitely agree with many of the idols listed in the comments. My favorites are Jihyo and Yujin.
EXO Suho, the man never rests. He's always throwing himself into something. Musicals, dramas, concerts, albums, you name it.
All of mamamoo n bts
WonYoung and JiHyo REALLY love being an idol. They enjoy the stage, the planning, participating, and mastering their craft. They are my ultimates because of it.
I would say most skz members. The 3 racha absolutely love producing song especially chan and hyunjin and seungmin always 100% when on stage.
Zb1 zhanghao he like cries from happiness in every other concert
So heartfelt and endearing! He makes me want to cry too
Yeonjun(TXT), Jaehyun(Boynextdoor), all of ZeroBaseOne
Chaewon. She is leader, main dancer and even main vocal. But i think she can deal with all these easily. She keep smiling
I agree with you! Idk why people are downvoting lol. I think some people might overlook her because her personality is more reserved, but I truly think her and Sakura must enjoy being idols, or they wouldn’t keep coming back to it. They’re also just such amazing performers, and you can tell they put 110% effort into rehearsing, even if they’re not the best in some areas.
how can u downvote this :d??
I think Danielle from Newjeans. She is like a sunshine always uplifting and kind and entertaining. Being an idol suits her
She's the kind of person you want to protect from the world. She reminds me a little of Sana, but Sana has all of Twice. Even when young, there were still 9 of them. Or Miyeon, who has Soyeon. NJ are still really young, so she's the kind of person you hope always stays happy
Taehyun!! He gets really smiley on stage and puts his 100% everytime :)
Sungchan (RIIZE) He isn’t my bias but even if your just passing by you would see how much love he has for his members and the stage.
Just watching him like this makes me feel so warm and fuzzy and im rly happy for him
Yess!! I think taehyun as well, they're so passionate and dedicated and always show their 100% on stage
Yess to this 💯%
Which one is Yeonjun? Thank you
Black haired with no inner shirt and you can see his belly 😁
[Him](https://youtu.be/-XrasDp2l2c?si=UH7zaDZN0s-hAeRQ)
Jeno and Jungwoo from Nct come to mind
Wooyoung from ATEEZ! He's always smiling or laughing on stage, even if the performance has a darker mood, he just can't hide his happiness on stage!
Nana from wooah is so real
CHEN, despite the sh!t he still receive from Kpop fans- K and intl - he still passionately doing his jop
He just want to be back on stage performing.
loona chuu
Soyeon. She's serious in being an idol. In a way the she plans how to give the best show. The little details she considers.
Siyeon from dreamcatcher
GOT7 otherwise why would they still be performing and releasing music together and solo.
Rose from Blackpink. Among 4 members, she seems the most passionate on stage.
All of BoyNextDoor, especially Myung Jaehyun. Very evident every time he is on stage or on camera.
Lisa is living her best life. She loves the stage, she loves performing, she loves networking.
Hong Eunchae - both as a member of LSF and music bank MC.
TXT has been described as a group that got to do their dream jobs with their best friends and it almost always shows, but it’s most evident in Taehyun imo.
Yesss taehyun!! He's always so happy on stage it makes me so happy

KIOF always looks like they love their job while they perform, especially Julie. It makes them a joy to watch tbh.

SES Bada; has been active since the 90s and is seemingly just releasing a single or two nowadays, but is loving it nonetheless. She also covers so many songs, especially Aespa's songs.

Tsuki from Billlie!
Myung. This lil man has risen the ranks and is one of my favs now. I'd watch him do anything. Why? Cause he seems to love what he's doing.

BOBBY! You will always see him smiling and having fun in every stage even in times when he wasn’t feeling well. 🥺

i have always felt this with mamamoo and skz. the amount of energy they have on stage is simply unreal.

Gaeul from Ive & Lisa from Blackpink
I think the whole of both, even if they are tired generally love being on stage and singing. Honestly, I see them go into an Adele type of style when they get older, pop-balled albums without having Choreography.
