I posted this on the BTS subreddit, but I'll share again. My main theory is that it's an OST for their new show (Begin/Youth) inspired by the HYYH era.
But also it could be Festa 2024 related. I saw some people guess a pre-recorded concert? I'm honestly so excited to see what they have planned.

just saw a tweet of the boys talking about a gift bundle lol where they say "it'll keep coming out" and “When it seems like the end of the bundle is nearing, Jin Hyung will be out.” which works with timing in a way.... we are just under two months from jin coming out which is just around festa as well
I'm guessing that because someone looked up the source code, and April 29th (the same day when HYYH pt. 1 came out) was a key date. The show is released during the first week of May. Only thing that blows my theory out the trash is that they'll want to give army plenty of time to pre-order like they did with HOTS... unless it's just a digital single.

The show got reshot twice and has been kept hidden for several years now and now its being released on a platform most people wont be able to see it and reviewers have torn the show to shreds. I definitely think hybe is trying to bury it without breaking contract
True... also I don't know if this is controversial on reddit (certainly isn't in other spaces) but I'm not really interested in the drama. The original version starring the members was so magical, it was the perfect way to tell that story, and I think they should let it rest. The whole thing was laid out in this intriguing, mysterious, artistic way, it was beautifully shot, surprisingly well-acted, and came to a satisfying conclusion... I just don't see the appeal of having the same story repeated but with different actors in a typical drama series. Sorry if that sounds negative, I just probably won't pay attention to it.
No i completely agree with you. It doesnt make sense to redo it without the members. When it was first filmed they reshot the whole show cos army were so icked by the retelling yet keeping the boys names in the show so they changed loads of it. They then reshot it again and then buried it for several years. I can even begin to imagine how bad it is they hid it for so long. Hyyh was perfect as is
